Dr. Lea is an awesome professor that really wants his students to understand the material. His lectures are thorough and he really drils into your head things you need to know. His tests are challenging but he does things to help boost your grade.He is intelligigent and tries his best to answer your questions.

He is a great professor! Very helpful and grades very fairly. I took him for 6 weeks so he was more lenient in curving exams. Overall he wants his students to do well, so study what he tells you to, and his exams are pretty straight forward!

This professor is phenomenal! He has a great attitude and personality and is very helpful. There is very little use of the textbook but he makes up for it by posting powerpoints that are more helpful. I would highly recommend this class with Dr. Lea!

Very helpful with any question you may have, very funny and dynamical when it comes to class. Not a lot of textbook use but the Power points and guides he posted on blackboard were really helpful. Just one recommendation, don't fall asleep in class, trust me.

Dr. Lea is by far the best professor I have had at NOVA thus far. He is clear in his explanations and very enthusiastic. Make sure to follow his power points and study guides he gives out in class. Dr. Lea is a intelligent, funny, very passionate biology teacher. the first weeks of his class i thought i was going to completely fail but he's a great professor because he truly wants us to learn biology. although bio 141 is a difficult class he made it worthwhile and that's a type of professor everyone deserves! def gonna take him for 142!

this teacher is the best. his powerpoint are on point. the exams are hard put he give study guides the are the same as the exams. the quizes you have to remember alot but overall i enjoyed the class and i learned alot. I RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!!!!

He is one of the easiest Professor in NOVA. You basically don't need to study for the test. All the tests comes from the powerpoint and the practical test sample which he gives prior his test. No need of using textbooks. Lectures are very interesting and comprehensive. I highly Recommend this teacher for profound understanding in A&P and an easy A

Great quality professor - you will learn A LOT. He gives a lot of extra information, but his exams are pretty easy as long as you work hard on the study packets he gives you. He is extremely helpful and really knows his stuff. Take him for both BIO 141 and 142, if you can - I wish I'd had the option! Highly recommend!

He is a great professor. I rated the class as hard because of the material not the professor. It is alot to learn but he is helpful and very clear on what you need to know for the tests and quizzes. He is very understanding and will work with you. If you show up to class and study hard you will make an A. If you get a bad grade its bc u didnt try!

Dr Lea was awesome! There are no tricks involved with the way he teaches, study what he gives you and you will do well. The work is difficult but he does a great job explaining in lecture and breaks the work up so it is some what manageable. Attendance important but not mandatory.

Wonderful teacher. Took him as honors and he pushed us hard. Most of the class did well and we learned a lot. Tests are difficult & there are cumulative quizzes on the main bones and muscles of the body. Attendance is mandatory, don't skip, you'll miss a lot of material. Very very helpful & spends a lot of time outside of class with students. Take.

If you are able to get this professor, consider yourself blessed. Dr. Lea is very well educated and has a gift for teaching. Most of all Dr Lea wants you to do well and if he sees you struggling he will help you along the way, in any way possible. I understand clearly why he fills up the first day of registration.

Took him as honors. Dr. Lea is no-nonsense. Nothing comes as a surprise in. Your success in the class is totally up to you, it's easy to skate by & not learn anything, but Dr. Lea will give ample opportunity to really learn the subject. Success on your transcript may be guaranteed but you will have to work to learn & Dr. Lea will be there to help.

Took honors. 7 exams If you're lucky 1 or 2 will be takehome. Gives the tests ahead of time so you can focus on learning the subject & working on the labs. Groups were required to present 45 mins. to faulty and students on a topic of their choice. 3-4 quizzes. Engaging lecturer. communicate w/ Dr. Lea ON TIME & he will be willing to help.

I took Dr. Lea for both NAS 161 and 162. He is an incredible professor! Dr. Lea's lectures were so informative and he tries to keep the class interesting and funny. This professor is not an easy A and it's a lot of work. Just memorizing the test info won't get you far. You need to know the fundamentals and he will always help if you get lost.

Never in my life time, I have had a professor like Dr. Lea, professional, respectful, genial..."down to earth" lowers himself to the students' level of comprehension. Incredibly pactient and understanding. Don't take advantage of Dr. Lea, but use him to your advantage. He's extremely knowledgeable and qualified and his experience is a whole resource in itself. Ask him questions, not just about the material, but about life and academic success. Trust his advice.

By far one of the most engaging, fun, hard working, extensive learning, memorizing class i ever taken in nova. I took honors both years. and it was tough a ton of work but all you need to do is memorize the entire human body, he lets you retake the lab tests. He wants you to learn the material not just pass the class. Take his class!!!

I'm in a graduate lecture at Georgetown atm studying the fundamentals of human physiology and hardly any of this material is new to me. Take Dr. Lea's honors courses and pay attention. It's an excellent taste of it really means to study medicine and it'll give you a nice headstart if you really use your time. Dr. Lea is amazing & one of the best.

Dr. Lea teaches NAS 161/162 or BIO 141/142. Guys, take him! He is the best professor at NOVA and truly wants you to get an A. I was nervous taking Nas162 but after the first couple of lectures, I knew that this Professor was the best around. He's very informative and lets you know about everything thats expected on the homework and tests. He's very respectful and works with you. I forgot my lab coat once and he let me burrow an extra! I've had my good share of college professors, and Dr. Lea definitely tops my list. His methods are unconventional, but IT WORKS if you take it seriously. To put it in his words, his class is made for students to succeed. Would take his class over and over and over again if I could.

Truly great professor. He's not into any work for the sake of work. He has labs to teach you the material, and all of his lectures are focused. Very easy tests because he gives you study sheets that let you know exactly what to study. He doesn't believe in teaching one thing then testing another. I can't even explain how amazing he is. He gives you a story or way of memorizing almost everything he teaches. I learned so much that will stick with me forever. He is the best professor I have EVER had. I had a previous professor that made me completely hate bio but Professor Lea brought my love for the subject back. He really cares about students and cares that we LEARN the material. He gives you the test ahead of time but you do have to do the work and memorize/learn the material in order to do well.

He actually teaches students rather than "tricking" them. He gives the EXACT test as a study guide so you just have to do it to pass. He posted the grade book at the end and everyone got an A!

Dr Lea was the best professor I have ever taken in the field of science. He really wants you to pass and gives study guides just like the exams. There are lab hw but each takes 5min.

Don't get me wrong this class is ALOT of WORK and it will eat up your time and consume your life and I'm sorry for that. but the material is fairly easy and concepts feasible it's just a matter of practice and retention. He is ON YOUR SIDE as far as your grade which is what we're all here for. he's disorganized & doesn't answer but eh - he's gr8.

Given this, do not expect to pass this class without doing anything. It is a lot of work, but if you put in the effort you will do well.

Dr. Lea changed my entire attitude on 161 and 162. His teaching style is great and he wants his students to succeed. I took 161 previously with another professor and almost stopped my pursuit for dental hygiene, until I found Dr. Lea. I still remember the material we learned in his class, currently in dental hygiene school the info is so helpful.

Anatomy and Physiology is no joke but Dr. Lea makes the lecture easier. He's the best professor I ever had in NOVA. The lecture is straightforward, and as long as you do what you need to do, you'll get the grade you deserve and he will surely help you.
