Excellent professor, fair exams, very easy to approach. All around great guy.
He is the best prof ever.
very easy going... two thumbs up
Greta prof - funny, easy going, friendly with students, always makes an effort to make things fair. Good class, study hard.
great prof, organized notes and the written exams were fair.
Very funny...great notes!!! Some test questions were kind of unfair (I think our marks were too high and he was trying to bring the averages down)
Runs through notes like there is no tomorrow, but is pretty clear and easy to understand.
a tutorial would have been swell
Dr Lee is AWESOME! He is very friendly and willing to explain everything for as long as it takes for you to get it. So Helpful!
Horrible prof. Wont let you see your tests and his notes are clear. He also trails off while teaching.
Ahhhhh!!! I did not like this guy at all, his notes are pretty good (power point) but that's about it. He basically reads right off of the notes and no new extra material during lectures. And his tests will****you! Not funny at all, don't mess with his midterm in Health Sci.
The class HSC 208 is suppose to be fun and interesting, and it is until this prof teaches. First of all, hard to understand and trails his words a lot. Don't even mention his midterm and his section on the final. SUPER HARD. I studies tons and still didn't do very good on his part. Class is ok other than that
He's a good prof, good power point notes but all I hear are these horror stories about his midterm...and when he himself said at the start of the year that he doesn't know why students don't do well on his section, you know something is going on. My midterm is tomorrow, but I've seen last year's exam...absolutely nuts.
I admit I didn't really like him in HSc 208 (he said "particular" a lot) and the only reason I got an 80 on the midterm was because I memorized the questions from an old one. But once you get to know him (ex: in Phsi labs) he is the nicest, funniest, and most helpful prof. I definitely recommend him!!
good prof, awesome guy, great help :)
There is nothing particularly bad about him as a prof, but there's nothing particularly good either. As for all of this talk about difficult midterms - I walked out of the midterm thinking I'd done all right. And then I got my mark back. He slaughtered. And he knew he was going to, too. Advice: do well on the other profs' sections!
Extremely helpful and approachable. In HSC 208 we were fearful of him, in our lab class, the best prof to deal with ever!!! He is the kind of prof that should be teaching in university. Actually go in and talk to him when you have questions, he clears them up really quickly and easily, but be prepared to think. You will learn so much from him!
He is extremely helpful if you have any questions so don`t be afraid to ask. I recommend taking a class from him.
Great prof, really knew his material. He was extremely helpful - don't be afraid to ask for help!
Incredibly nice but a terrible professor.
He was a really good prof! Really wanted you to get a good mark and was very helpful when you went to talk to him. Knew his stuff and really made it interesting. You still need to know your stuff on his exams but they are pretty straightforward. Definately one of the best profs of this class.
Incredibly helpful and such a nice prof. He really has a passion for knowledge and he wants to help students understand. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask! You will learn a lot from him
He's the best. The end.
Dr. Lee has a monotone voice which is hard to pay attention to, and he can be confusing while explaining certain topics. However, if you tell him you are confused, he will always make sure you understand. Also he has a brilliant mind and is very passionate about what he teaches. The material is very intense and tests are hard but he writes fair exa
Nice enough guy, but very confusing lecturer. Examples unclear, and his accent makes it hard to distinguish between certain terms, unfortunately (intra/intermuscular). Changed what content was on exam last minute too, by which time people were halfway through studying that content. Found it better to do notes on my own, supplementing with text.
- he never replies on his email - exams are too heavy - lecture is not clear
- monotoned voice - exam materials are too heavy - not clear to understand at all
Tough grader
HORRIBLE PROF. AVOID THIS PROF IF YOU COULD.
. He basically reads right off of the notes and no new extra material during lectures.
super hard exams, and his voice is hard to understand.
his exam summary was bit helpful but his practice quizzes didnt help much for final exam. get ready to study on your own.
the prof is very careless and, you will have to get ready to study on your own.
I actually really like this prof! His materials are organized and easy to understand, and his exams are very fair. And he's hilarious!
you will realize that you learn nothing from this professor. It's much better to study on your own.
The test is even unfair. God. This guy has a problem.
His powerpoint notes were extremely well organized and they explained the material quite well. I will be using them as a reference in the future. I studied those notes and skipped most of his lectures and did well. His exam questions were more difficult than Baillie's. You will need to apply your knowledge, so know the material inside out.
Worst prof I have ever had. I honestly can't believe this is all they offer for nursing students. When the majority of the class is FAILING you know there is a problem. He's hard to understand, and the majority of his exam questions don't even make sense due to grammar mistakes. AVOID IF YOU CAN!!!
If you never did well in his class, you didn't try hard enough. The material is heavy, but he made every resource very available. Rewatching the lecture captures was more helpful than reading the textbooks. Everything on the exams he emphasized if it will be on the exam. He is a total gem and I really enjoyed his class!!
I wish I could rate Lee a 2.5/5. He is a great guy, but not the best prof. He goes through this very quickly, as it is easy and striaght forward to him, he thinks it is for students. The class is tough. Read the text book to help with explainations.
Three midterms and a final. The class midterms marks were horrible. His notes had too much stuff on it and were not that clear. how am i supposed to know which questions I got wrong and study if they cant show us or tell us the on the exams ..?????? before this final everyone had a failing grade (below 50).
Hi slides are good and you could probably get by with the slides and his lecture (if you can understand his accent). But the textbook is probably more helpful if you can understand the dry material (had a previous biochemistry degree so I was able to understand the textbook). Overall, his tests were very, very, easy. Focus on the slides! Easy A!
His class wasn't that bad. The class I took had many nurses in it and often struggle with the content. Overall I recommend reading the textbook and his slides BEFORE you come to class. Also recommend taking detailed notes too! You would retain so much more rather than attending class without prior knowledge. You put in the effort to get the grade.
Most people hate him, but that's because they don't bother to read the textbook take notes and read his slides BEFORE CLASS. If you bother to do these things I can guarantee that his lectures will make more sense. If you literally do this for any class, I can guarantee that you will pass. Hint: his midterms are concept based and applied knowledged
Dr. Lee is a great guy. He can be confusing and some people don't understand his accent, but there is no one who knows physiology like Dr. Lee. He is a super helpful and friendly guy and wants you to succeed. If you do poorly on a midterm, he will transfer the wt to the final for you. He is very reasonable and a great person to learn from.
He starts his first lecture by stating "This class will be hell". He wasn't wrong, but it's manageable. He's funny and super smart. The content is tough, but he only tests from the red words in his slides, and for that... I'm thankful.
Paul Lee is an excellent prof. He's really passionate about the content and explains the content thoroughly. He's always open to questions and wants to be sure everyone understands. The class is very content heavy though, a lot of information to go over!
Tricky on his questions
One of the better professors. His exam questions are straightforward and he even tells you that he isn't there to trick you. If you attend all lectures and understand the concepts, you'll do great. Everyone else didn't bother understanding the CV system inside out, or asking questions in class and outside. Textbook not required.
LECTURE IS SUPER HEAVYYYYY!!!! BUT OVERALL PAUL IS A GOOD PROFESSOR, THERE ARE TIMES HE'S GONNA SCARE THE HECK OUT OF YOU ON HOW SCARY HIS CLASS IS BUT THIS WOULD ONLY MOTIVATE U TO STUDY LOL
Paul is a nice person but isn't the best prof. In lecture he tends to go off on tangents and talks about things that won't be tested on. Read his notes before class, as otherwise he can be very confusing when he talks. His exams are hard, so make sure you understand the material. No textbook, but CV physiology website was very helpful so try that
Paul was an excellent professor in my opinion. He added jokes in every so often and tried his best to ensure we learned the great amount of content we needed to know in a short time. He definitely wanted us to pass and reminded us frequently that the class was difficult.
Paul is a wonderful, caring and hilarious guy, but definitely not the best teacher. I ended up skipping most lectures and learning the material on my own through Youtube. He speeds through the content and his explanations often don't make much sense or just end up being wrong. Also his powerpoint slides are very messy and just confused me even more
Paul Lee is such an amazing prof. He is very clear in his lectures about what is important, his notes are organized well, and his exams are more than fair. He genuinely cares about students and works hard to make sure all of the content he covers is clear. 10/10
Paul Lee is such a gem (I'd say he's even better than baby Yoda). He emphasizes the important details and his lecture notes are all you need to study from. Make sure you go to class because he really highlights what you need to know and has a few useful demonstrations.
Paul Lee is an absolute gem. He is super fair with all of his exams and pretty much will tell you exactly what to expect. His lecture slide orders can be a little all over the place but I really appreciate that he constantly reviews material in class and ensures that EVERYONE is understanding things - even if it goes over time. Also, hilarious.
Lee does not know how to teach. His section is very dense, but instead of spending more time explaining the material, his only aim is to read over slides. I also noticed he does not prepare before lectures. It's like he sees the slides for the first time. He creates intentionally tricky questions by throwing in random words and confusing students.
He is a very caring prof and he had backtracking for the midterm and final. His specialty of cardiovascular is content heavy but if you listen to his lectures and follow the slides it doable. Midterm was easier than the final and final had more integrative questions. He was fair with time and the amount of questions. Keep up with the class.
I did not notice how caring Lee is. If anything, he composed difficult and confusing questions for the final to make the class average lower (to account for the open book situation). This does not scream caring. He is difficult to understand. He simply reads off the slides without explaining the material. Students are on their own pretty much.
One of the profs who made this online learning year incredibly difficult. I felt like he intentionally made the final drastically harder to compensate for the fair midterm that he had. He is an unfair professor who doesn't consider the tough time his students are having with this online environment.
Mediocre prof. Very dense lectures. Reads from the slides line by line. I was actually looking forward to cardio physiology, but he ruined the class.
Dr. Lee's section of the course was very dense and complex. He does not do the best job explaining most things. His exam questions are very integrative and complex, so you require full understanding of the material, not just memorization. He does not provide the best situation to develop understanding, so his portion was a struggle.
Hard to sit through his lectures and email responses from him never provide more information than what is already provided in the lectures, which by the way are basically books. I have had him for way too many classes.
I do not agree with the recent ratings for Dr. Lee at all. I found his lectures very interesting and he was fun to watch in class. Some concepts were confusing at first, but as long as you have the textbook nothing is too complicated. Does a good job of pointing out important concepts and explains everything well.
expected alot of the content to be known without explaining properly, took pride that the midterm and final was 'brutal'.
Paul Lee is a very smart man I will give him that, but if you have any type of struggle he is not very accommodating even when you have a note from AES. He is honestly borderline discriminatory if you have a disability and does not understand why there are accommodations. if you are an AES student take it with literally ANY other prof
Lee's exams are very, very difficult. Imagine BMSC207/8 content but like jacked up by x40. Cardiovascular physiology is very complex on its own but he does do a pretty good job explaining it. He'll tell you that his class will be "hell" and his exams will "destroy you." Boy... is he right. His exams will kill!!! Study ins-and-outs of every concepts
Lee's midterm was easy but his section on the final required a lot of thinking. Review pre-midterm material thoroughly if you want to do well on the final.
Dr Lee tries to make lectures interesting, but the cardio content is just damn hard. Know the content inside out as you won't know the answer to his MCQs unless you know the "sequence of events" as he likes to say. Midterm wasn't too hard, final for his part requires thinking. Review 207 CV otherwise your head will spin because he can go quite fast
Dr. Lee's section can be overwhelming, don't leave studying until the last minute. He can go fast in lectures. The midterm is not as bad as he says it is but it has a few application qs to separate the top few. The final will need understanding of graphs + relationships but you can get all the questions if you know the content (ie they're fair).
Both Nurs 207 and 208 are very challenging. There is a lot of material that he goes through very quickly. He makes constant comments like "its common sense" or "its not that hard", which is discouraging when you are struggling with the course. His wording on midterms and exams is challenging.
Paul Lee is kind and smart but talks very fast, making lectures hard to follow. He often says things are "easy" or "common sense," which can be discouraging. His exams are very difficult, so many students end up skipping and self-studying
Prepare to teach yourself! Did it last semester and this semester. Went to class once. He is not a good professor; goes too fast, syllabus is a mess, doesn't follow his OWN schedule. IF you have a choice LITERALLY chose anyone else. You'll thank me later instead of spending hours teaching YOURSELF content you paid money to have taught to you!
Worst class, test so heavy and the examples he give in each lecture are easy questions and very different from the midterms and finals. He does not care if students understands in class or not. Exams worded differently and is very difficult.
Brutal exams, you basically teach yourself the whole material for the whole term. Nothing taught in class.
Dr. Lee cares about his students that's for sure, I'm genuinely so slow and not used to STEM (coming from a humanities background) I felt understood and he was very flexible with the students during OSCEs. Thank you Dr. Lee!!! U DA GOAT!!!
(CPPS303) Dr. Lees Qs are simple if you memorize the info on his slides (way less challenging than for 302). Use logic/critical thinking to reason through problems you may not have an immediate answer for, but overall his section of the course was very fair. He adds funny side stories to make lectures more interesting (however those weren't tested)
(CPPS308) Dr Lee's Qs for the exercise lab were simple if you had taken 302 prior, otherwise they can be tricky as the exercise lab didn't include slides. Study all the slides for the hematology lab (especially the coagulation cascade pathway), and understand the composition of the lab reagents for that lab. Also marks lab reports very chill
Midterm difficult heavy, lots of content. Be ready for exams it will take up majority of your time.
Yes, this is a tough course. Show up, study hard, and you will do well. Prof Lee is very thorough, very entertaining, and completely understands what it is like to be a student. He is fair and understanding, while having high expectations. LISTEN when he says don't memorize, but understand. If you work hard, you will be fine.
Only having 2 midterms and a final is scary. He tries to make the content less stressful by only having 20 questions on the midterms, I think this isn't enough but if you study the high yield topics like your life depends on it you will be fine. He teaches in heavy detail and his slides are thorough. He gives exam hints in class so attend lecture
Run if you can. Super complex slides. Very hard final. Only graded on 1 midterm and a final. He's funny, ill give him that, but would not recommend
