This guy is great teacher. The class is easy and test is open book open notes. He provides extra credit up to 50 pts. Their is one paper due and its easy.

Great teacher! I would definitely take him again, he will help you out when he can. Also if you show up all the time and are doing good at the end, he doesn't make you take the final!

cool teacher. read the book, the chapters are short. he gives study questions and you can use the book during the test. it only takes a little effort to be prepared and you can get an A.

WAY easier than Devries class. Open notes and book, lots of examples and he has a good personality and sense of humor. FYI if you go to every class and average a 90 on first two tests you wont have to take the final. BUT YOU HAVE TO BE IN EVERY CLASS.

awesome teacher but his classes kinda drag on cause he just lectures off of the computer (ie you're in the dark the whole time). attendance is required which kinda sucks but tests are open book/note. you can make up missed classes by writing 2-page papers. easy easy! and i agree.. hot glasses! lol.

Prof Lester is the best teacher. His classes are interesting and you get to watch movies and film clips. You have to show up for class. He takes role at the beginning and at break. Gives you enough extra credit too. Best part of the class, ALL THREE TESTS ARE OPEN BOOK. The study guide is easy

Easy course. 3 exams, 1 paper and attendance counts. The exams are all open book. You can also do 10 twp page extra credit papers for 5 points each. Tests also have a slight curve to it that does not count against you. Lectures can really drag on though but the movie clips are fun. Great personality

OPEN BOOK TESTS need I say more. OH TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT. TAKE HIS COURSE. He is Frtiz Coleman on drugs, in a good way. Funny as hell. I loved his class

open note open book tests arent as easy as they sound. the paper was easy, its a long kind of boring class, but hes pretty nice. if you get a 79% final grade dont expect him to bump you up to a b. grrrr.

This class was GREAT! Tests were ALL open note/book and divided into chapters. Just look up answers! I didn't NEED to study, but I was still interested. He trys to keep attention with lots of clips and interesting side info. Kinda an old hippie. =) Very cool. I would definately take him again. Kick back, relax, take good notes and you'll be golden.

Quite interesting at times. But super class to take, likes to joke, easy test. Take him for a good grade. Trust me!

This guy was so much fun to listen to! He's very helpful and gets you involved, after all you pay all that money for an education why not get involved? He knew what he was talking about, and looked at everyone's beliefs and points of view!Very cool teacher

I'm still in the class right now, but so far I can't believe how easy it's been. He has OPEN BOOK TESTS! All you have to do is go through the easy-to-read chapters and highlight the important stuff. You can label the chapters with tabs to make it easier. He gives you ten extra credit opportunities. I hear the paper isn't too bad, but we'll see.

WEB course is seriously the best. Class is so much fun if you participate in the online discussions. Cases are really interesting and this class is NOT difficult at all. Just do what is required (which is really easy) and you're good! Best advice is to participate in discussions. Don't be shy; no one can see you!

DR. Les is super chill. he literally wrote the book. if you go to all the lectures and pay attention you will pass with flying colors. tests are open notes open book. there is only one writing assignment and it is worth 10% of your grade. P.S. if you get a 90% or above before the final you get a special treat at the end.

This guy is awesome. The content is interesting and interactive. Tests are open-book and open-note (multiple choice). He's young at heart and in tune with reality. I strongly recommend this Prof. to everyone.

Dr. Les is awesome! 3 open book, open note tests and an easy 7-page paper. Attendance is a must though, he deducts points everytime you're absent. Lectures are interesting, he always tries to choose images and videos that are current.

THERE ARE TWO PAPERS, ONE CHAPTER PAPER THAT IS DUE DEPENDING ON WHAT 'GROUP' (NOT GROUP WORK) YOUR IN & THE FINAL PAPER. THREE TESTS ALL UNTIMED & OPEN BOOK. YOU MEET FOR CLASS ON SECOND LIFE & ITS PRETTY AWESOME.

I took it online and agree with everything the person below said. Interesting class. Reading the book is a must for tests but they are open book. DB is really easy. Don't procrastinate on term paper and read syllabus before asking him a question.

Online class was AMAZING. Had to do your work though. Every assignment was key to getting your points. Discussion boards are a must. Also, taking time to do the tests (be resourceful!) was key. I pulled an easy A because I was on top of my stuff. He's very fair with test curves and deadlines. Raddest, hippest professor!

Professor Lester is a good teacher i had him for comm 300. he really enjoys what he teaches i enjoyed his lectures. attendence is mandatory....overall i enjoyed his class.

Its an online class but we still meet in a virtual classroom. Class meetings arent mandatory but its important to attend them for lectures. Mid terms is a regular exam, final was essay questions. One big paper to write along with 2 smaller papers. It is also mandatory to get a Second Life account. I wish there had been traditional lectures though.

Dr. Lester is a magnificent instructor. His lecutres are top rate with several insightful examples are engaing. In addition, his textbook provides a keen look in visual communications. Take this class regardless of your major.

BEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN! He is one of the best professors at CSUF! I would recommend this class to anyone and everyone. I learned more than I ever thought I could about Visual Comm and have made it my major! You won't regret it!

This was an online class. He is very intelligent and funny guy. The discussion boards are a must and an easy grade if you complete all of them. He does grade hard on the papers. Mandatory (not really) online discussions and one class meeting on Second Life (a virtual world for freaks!) A group project too.

Did not buy book, got an A! Easy online exams and even easier final. The papers are easy also, but he is very particular so take your time on them. It helps to go to his office and meet personally. Word to the wise: Get A's on both exams and do EVERY SINGLE DISCUSSION BOARD. Trust me, do so and you can skip the final completely!

Really easy class. Get his text book and you dont have to attend class. I got an A only attending maybe 3 classes all semester. Online test except for final. And I dont think he reads the writing assignments.

This class is really fun and a good class to add on if you are having a hard semester. Class is not mandatory and everything shown in class in online. You NEED the book for this class. Tests are online. No quizzes. Two papers. Some lectures are very interesting some are not. I recommend this class!

Professor Lester is an excellent professor! His power points are very organized and easy to follow. He is slightly eccentric... which makes him very entertaining, although his lectures can get pretty boring. He gives a lot of extra credit (which surprisingly can really boost you up a ton!). The midterms and the Final were generally short and easy.

If you do the work you should be able to get an A. He posts study questions for every chapter and the tests are online so you should be able to get an A as long as you have the book. There are 2 papers as well but they are easy. I learned a lot from this class and really like his style of teaching.

The class is fun. Go to class is necessary because there is questions that asking you about the video shown in class. I enjoyed his class. Be sure to read the book before you take an exam. Tests are online and have unlimited time. I end up getting an A without taking the final.

Forum posts are extremely easy, just do them on time! All exams are open book and are open for an entire week. Things can get confusing, but I never read the textbook until I had to for the exams and I received an A in the class. He's very picky with writing, but just follow the guidelines!!

This class is alright. Discussions are easy. 3 papers. He's a hard grader. Got an "F" on my first paper for minor errors such as spacing.

Listen, Dr. Lester is the top in his field. The reason why you use his textbook is because he literally wrote the textbook for this field. You are taking a class with a distinguished scholar so put your big boy and girl pants on follow his instructions, read the textbook, and come to class. He gives you a lot of opportunities to excel and get an A.

He wants students to do well! His course and guidelines are easy to follow, just read the textbook and follow instructions thoroughly when writing the 2 essays and you should do well in the class. His exams are open book!

I have taken him both online and in class and he is a cool guy but a really tough grader. I did all of our forums for the online class and still got a D for that section. He grades papers extremely hard as well.

Here's the only review you need to read about this class. There are weekly forum posts with very short response prompts. He gives you answers from the test each week. You write two papers all semester. He grades spelling/punctuation/grammar as though it were an English class. If you don't have strong writing skills, I would recommend another prof.

Professor Lester grades pretty hard. I started the class thinking I was going to fail and ended with a passing grade of A. He is very clear with what he wants you to do and is tough when it comes with grammar. So know AP Style, basic grammar and punctuation, and sourcing information. He tells you step by step what he expects.

Extremely clear about the work. Grading is clear and quick. Very helpful, and couldn't make it any easier to learn.

Loved this class! There are 3 exams, 2 of them are online and the final is in class. Exams are open noteopen book. 2 papers, 1 chapter paper and term paper. Offers extra credit after every class, if you stay the whole time. Very helpful during office hours. LONG LIVE LESTER :)

Just a heads up, if your exams are open note, open book and he gives you the first 5 min. to have open mouths, ASK HIM! No one did but he could basically answer all your questions. I really liked this class a lot, he wrote the book so you do need it. Class participation is a must; you must attend and participate in the once a week forum. Easy.

Attendance sheet is passed around, which is part of your grade. So is weekly online forum. 2 essays, 3 exams. You can SKIP the final if you get A's on the first two exams and always attendpost online!

There was one test for this online section but his papers were though. If you weren't careful or super specific you could end up with a D. I learned that the hard way but then had him revise them a week before it was due and ended up with an A in the class. Overall not too bad, but he really makes you work for your grade

He's a great professor. First of all his test are all online and open book. His two papers he allows you to email him your rough draft and he tells you what grade he would give you as-is and what to fix. My chapter paper, he told me an 80 as is, I fixed what he said and got 100. My term paper he said 60, I fixed it all and got an 85.

Dr. Les really needs higher ratings that actually reflect his work ethic. This class is so simple that students take it for granted and end up needing to retake it. I loved the structure and the amount of help he offered (so much extra credit and easy to reach during non-class hours). He wants you to get a good grade and will help you. Just try!

His online classes are very easy. I took him for COMM 300 and 310. He has a discussion question every week but they are simple. You could answer them in a sentence or two. The midterm and final require a little more effort. He is very clear in what he wants.

I took the online class during Summer along with a 400 level class and full time work and managed to get the readings done. He tests directly from his book and provides great feedback if you send him an email. I'll be honest, I didn't get much from his powerpoints and video lectures but if you read the chapters thoroughly you should be fine.

I took 15 units this semester and P. Lester's COMM 300 made my life so much easier. His tests are straight from the book, forums each week are basically your own opinion, and if you average an A after the first 3 tests, you don't have to take the final. I would highly recommend him!

This was an awesome class, I highly recommend. tons of extra credit. Try to get over 90% on first three test then you won't have to take the FINAL EXAM - you have to write to essays but you have already taken english 101 so this won't be difficult. you will love the class online and you will get either an A or B depending on your work ethics.

Honestly, it was the best online class I ever took. Not too time consuming. Weekly forum posts which aren't hard at all. Just make sure you do them, I did all of mine in one day so I didn't have to worry later. 2 papers. Not hard at all. Tests are easy if you have the e-book. You can use the search to find the answers. Prof. Lester's online COMM300 is an easy A. Weekly forum posts that are usually unrelated to lectures or reading, and opinion oriented. 3 Tests and two papers. Kind of a tough grader on the papers. Tests are ALL from the book. Didn't open one of his lectures and passed with a solid grade.

He is a tough grader on papers. Make sure you send your paper to him in advance for feedback because you can be dropped a letter grade or two for simple mistakes. Ex, I misspelled the textbook authors name one time in a in text citation by one letter and was marked down 5 points ( half a letter grade).

I really enjoyed this online class. I learned a lot by reading his book and wish I had taken it in person instead. If you want to go into any type of design career in the future, I highly suggest taking this class. His tests aren't too hard if you read the textbook. It's okay to miss a few forum questions but don't miss too many.
