Great teacher!
Lectures are easy to follow and lead to good notes for studying. Tests are multiple choice and essay; you need to understand biological processes, you cannot just memorize!
He's the best teacher I've ever had! Cares about his students and how they are doing. Has a great sense of humor that keeps you interested. I'd take another one of his classes in an instant, if I had the time.
Best prof at the school. His classes are challenging and his tests are very challenging. You will learn a lot in his classes. He is also extremely fair. Great sense of humor as well.
Maybe he is good, funny but there are some people dropped his class before this semester finish. His test is kind of easy with some of bonus question.
Paul is an awesome teacher!! He is very energetic, and has a great sense of humor. His tests are challenging, but he always has a study guide for each test. Great teacher!
EXCELLENT instructor! He didn't have a text for the 1 cred class so that meant you'd better have been showing up to class and taking great notes for the tests. I looked forward to coming to his class. If only all instructors had the enthusiasm that he does.
I had this guy years ago and still remember he was one of the most inspiring teachers ever. If you don't want to be in the class, don't expect him to care if youre there either. He loves to teach, esp to those who want to learn. I got 102 out of 100, and I was a B student.
Paul is great. Funny guy easy to approach for help. He really challenges what you know about the subject. He asks some confusing questions on tests, but offers extra credit from the political realm. I recommend Him.

the best teacher i have ever had!! hes very direct in what you have to know and not know for the test!! plus hes very funny and goofy which makes him hott!!( in a dorky way!!)
Paul is the best teacher I have ever had, period. He is far and away the best teacher at the school. The man is an inspiration. His passion for the subject comes through in every class period, as does his great sense of humor. Paul was not just a teacher to me, but a mentor. I've taken every class I can with him, and wish he taught more.
funy funny funny and very honest about how his tests will be. good guy!
Paul is my favorite professor. He is the greatest teacher...and really funny!! He loves what he does and makes class a blast! I absolutely loved biology. He is a really nice guy...I would recommend him to EVERYONE.
Nursing students beware! His lectures are interesting and never dull due to his personality. Lab is learing in a fun way. He is an excellent teacher, but his tests will make you feel like the biggest moron ever. If you want an A out of Micro he is not your guy. I knew my stuff, but the way he worded his questions looked foreign to me.
He made me feel like a moron no one will ask or answer questions because he will single you out just to make you feel like an idiot worst teacher ever, plus the biggest jerk alive!!!!!!
Paul is by far the greatest teacher that I have ever had. His love and interest in biology and science is contageous. His tests are pretty hard but I would strongly advise people to take a class with him. I never considered being a biology major until I took a few classes from him.
Great teacher! Made lecture fun and not a bore to sit through. Easy A if you come to lecture and read the book!!!! I loved it that there was also bonus questions on the exams. I highly recommend this to anyone who has problems with biology cause he's good at explaining it down to cave man terms.
Lecture seem very easy but when it comes to exam its hard if u didn't read. He picks on u randomly so be prepare to know the answer. he makes class fun and interesting but too fun thats it off topic at times.
Paul is an excellent teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and commits a lot of his time outside of class to help you and talk with you if you need it. His exams are tough, but as long as you take in depth lecture notes you will be fine. Paul is by far my favorite college prof., I highly recommend him to anybody!
I have taken two classes with Paul and I love the way he teaches! I feel he is very clear in his expectations, and is always willing to help outside of class. The best advice is to take good notes, dont skip class and pay attention! Definatly not a class for those looking to slack off!
If you are hardworking and intersted in learning. This will be a teacher to have. He likes to teach and do not be intimidate with his approach. Take good notes and read em prior and after class. If you are the type who likes to cruise control, then do not take him.
He keeps the class interesting, atleast I don't fall asleep. Most of his test questions are on his lecture material...but you need to read the book. You don't buy it for nothing. The book has more emphasis on his summary. The test is easy, people just look at it too much or don't study at all.
Took him for biology and micro-biology. Best teacher at NHCC. Tought he tried hard to make a hard subject easy as it can possibly be. Hard tests, but explains every thing great!!!
best teacher at NHCC! tests are difficult but fair. he rips on students in class, but its all for fun. Try to sit through a lecture W/O laughing- it can't be done
Melchior is the man. Great sense of humor, teaches the subject like story time rather than notes of screens. Test are quite difficult, requires study time.
I had him for Bio 1, now Bio 2. He adjusts his teaching based on the class, and expects a lot from students. He expects you come to class, study and get help if you need it. He's the funniest teacher I've ever had- sometimes like going to a biology themed comic bar. But, he's gonna be gone for a year to teach in Ireland, so you may miss out.
Very funny teacher.HOWEVER, he is also the most scatterbrained teacher I know. His notes are disorganized and unreadable. He needs to take a break from teaching. He just didn't care. You could tell he didn't want to be there, he rushed through things, often saying"ok you need to figure this out for yourself" Sorry, but I can't recommend taking him.
Paul is the best teacher that i've taken at north hennepin. He makes science fun! I took his class back in 2003, so it's been a while and i've been meaning to rate him here. He actually came to my family member's funeral while I was in this class. Really good guy and teacher! Highly recommended!
FANTASTIC PROFESSOR!! Best at NHCC by far, his passion for the subject is obvious and contagious. He cares about students and is always willing to help. Tests are hard, but fair, read the book go to class and you'll do fine.
He explain good in the lecture but when it comes to the test, it's really hard to get an A even after studying long hours. I don't recommend him for anybody unless you are a genius. His tests are very hard.
I would not reccomend him to anyone who wants help from the teacher. he is a great guy he is funny and fun to listen to but if you like structure sothat you can better understnad the material he will not be of much assistance. Dont be surprised if he picks favorites in the class and makes them known by using there names on the test.
He promotes student success. You can have lower grades in the class, but if you ace the comprehensive final, you could still get an A for the class. He is clear in his teaching and gives good hints about what will be on the tests.
Paul is a very good professor, he is willing to help however he can if you're willing to put in the effort. His tests and quizzes are very straightforward. Attendance isn't mandatory but he tests only on what's during lecture so it's a good idea to go. I only opened my book once or twice the whole semester and I got a high A. Take him!
Mr. Melchior was a great teacher. he explains everything so well and he is a funny teacher. I learned alot in his biology lecture. GREAT TEACHER!Take Him and You Wont Regret. Study and Read the BOOK!...
He is a very funny and very nice guy, you just NEED TO GO TO CLASS!!!! You can't rely on the textbook with him as most of his tests are based off the lectures. I learned this the hard way. I will probably take another class with him, when I gain back my pride from doing so poorly.
NEVER take microbiology from this professor. He lectures off the top of his head & is hardly consistent with the book, thus making his exams difficult. He lectures ONLY a small portion of each topic & expects his students to learn the rest of the materials for his exams. Exams included materials that were not part of the tested chapters or inaccura
This guy is bad news.He is intellectually sound but can barely deliver the concept to non scientists.Take him as a last resort.
The class was hard but I liked it. Tests are a mixture of multiple choice and short answer/fill in the blank. He tests for true understanding vs. just memorizing. I had to use a combo of the book and lecture notes to do well, one or the other didn't cut it. Overall I'd recommend him but know that you will have to put in some effort to do well.
best ever!!! you will not get bored in his class for sure!
Paul is a great teacher. Very fun to listen to and pretty laid back. This is a complex subject and so of course you need to spend time studying if you want to get a good grade but if you are willing to put in the work you will do well. I would highly recommend talking this subject from Paul. He is passionate about this topic and it shows.
One of the best teachers I've ever had! Lectures are fun and interesting and he's passionate about Biology! He isn't into posting a bunch of stuff online, so if you can get over that you'll be fine. He's funny, fair, smart, & interesting. I will take Paul whenever I can in the future! Tests are tough, but fair. Highly recommend this teacher!
This profesor tests off of his notes. The book is backup to help you understand. He is very helpfull if you just ask.
He is the best teacher that I have had at NHCC! I would reccomend him to anyone because no one would ever get bored in his class. He explains everything and makes class fun. He is very entertaining and makes being in class fun and not boring at all. He is the best professor I have ever had.
I think Melchior is a fantastic teacher but the hardest grader I've come across yet. His tests are tough as can be and he is very picky about giving points. I also wish I had not studied only off notes because I had to do a big portion of studying for the tests out of the book, the notes didn't have everything like we were told.
He is a great teacher who makes class interesting and will take time to explain and make sure you understand. His tests are hard and get harder. The final was ridiculously hard. When presenting his lecture in class, I understood. The book is way different and sometimes his lectures don't line up. Make sure to read material before.
Melchior is a good teacher but when it comes to his many grading rules, he makes it difficult to pass his class even if you give it you all. If you don't pass the test portion, you don't pass the class no matter how many points you have in lab/etc. out of 125 people that started, I don't know of one person that passed. His tests are crazy hard.
If you find biology boring, take his class and lab! He makes things fun (and funny) and if you do pretty well, he gets to know your name (and face) which could save you your grade if you get a couple low scores! Seriously, take him! I loved him as a teacher!
Paul, is very enthusiastic and passionate about his classes, I have had him for Bio, I, II, Plant and Microbio. Be prepared to get the grade with the amount of work you put in. Try to stick with him for your classes He is very passionate about teaching and funny, and will break it down barney style if you dont understand something. TAKE HIS CLASS
Funny guy to listen to and talk with but a horrible lecture professor. Scattered and random, and skips chapter to chapter and unit. VERY confusing to follow. I wouldn't recommend him if you struggle in Bio courses.
very nice and funny. But when it comes to his exams. He words his test to be hard. Making it difficult to know what he wants.Claims exams ?'s are from lecture. Not true. Only 40%are from lecture. Study everything from top to bottom to pass his exams. Use the book since he lectures off the top his head and is random.
The general outline of what will be on the exams is given through lecture so DO NOT miss class. You are to learn more on your own time. That's what Paul will expect from you. Very funny & intelligent guy. A bit intimidating. The course material is easy. Memorization is key. Short answers on exams are HARD! Focus a lot on the last sections before.
Paul is a great teacher and is complete with his lectures. You will have to study as there is quite a bit of material to cover, but he tests you on what he covers in lecture. Take really good notes, because during lecture he will tell you "this might be a good exam question". Also enthusiastic about the material.
Paul is very good at explaining things and I really enjoyed his lectures. However, his tests are very hard. He has many essay questions and you have to be extremely specific with your answers. He will put questions on the test about something that he mentioned maybe once in passing during lecture. You absolutely cannot miss lecture. EVER.
He is the hardest prof. I have ever had and I am a good student. His grades are based on exams that are really hard. He only lectures on about 1/4 of what you are expected to know for the test. The rest you need to learn yourself. No lab syllabus. Very unorganized. Very interesting material and I learned a lot.
Although he was very hard, he was by far one of my favorite profs. Even when there were 125 in the class he knew everyone's name! I studied a lot and visit the tutor center and pulled out a B. It is essential to purchase a recorder for his class as his exams are based 100% off lecture! Good Luck!
This class was very, very interesting, but it was also very difficult. Paul is an amazing teacher, but his tests are hard, and it's absolutely a must to read the book, or else you will not pass. He takes the time to get to know everyone personally which, I personally thinks makes him a better teacher. I would for sure take his class again.
He is really cool and am willing to help you, but you need to take the initiative to help yourself by approaching him first. He is friendly and he won't snap at you even if you're failing near the end of the semester. If you care, he will try to help. But it's you who really needs to reach out first.
Paul's lectures always kept me very interested. However, this is the hardest class I've ever taken. His tests are on lectures and he doesn't give many assignments. I had no idea what my grade was until the end of the semester because he doesn't post grades on d2l.I managed to get through it but do yourself a favor and take slacker classes wthis 1
Very interesting class. Paul makes biology fun! Study your ass off and you will get a good grade.
His biology 1001 class was the hardest class I have ever taken. What is in the book and his lectures and the test are different. He is not organized with this lecture. He goes with what is in his head. The tests are extremely hard because there is always a short answer section that basically determines if you fail or not.
Great teacher, but difficult class. You have to be willing to put the time into it.
I have had Paul for Biology and Microbiology. He makes the lectures interesting and is fun and personable. I would recommend anyone to take him.
He was really hilarious, I'll give him that! But overall he seemed very unprepared and uninterested in the class. On his tests it's important to be able to apply the info which is fair but we were given no homework, practice tests, etc to practice applying to info. Self-teaching is important but that doesn't mean the teacher doesn't have to teach.
Great person when you need help but teaching technique was not good at all. Absolutely unorganized teaching system got lost.
Extremely hard tests! Extremely good teacher that you will learn a lot from though. Record lectures for the first exam, then read book and take good notes on inclass stuff, you will not have time to relisten. ANYTHING in lecture is fair game. Know the study guide like crazy! Know shapes and wall type of bacteria and so on. Study A LOT and pass!
Paul was a great teacher. I had him for both Biology and Microbiology. If you go to his lectures and pay attention and make sure you study that material, you will pass. He has an awesome deal with grading. Record his lectures and listen to again for studying, this saved me.
A great teacher. Provides clear direction on how to pass the class. Expects you to put in the effort, but guides and supports you along the way. Learn the material and you'll do fine. Pay attention to his lectures, read the material. Testing is a big portion of the grade so study hard. Ask for help and clarification when needed.
Very difficult class. He is very sporadic and seems unprepared often but is funny. Usually has class laughing more than learning, RECORD HIS LECTURES, listen in lecture and take good notes. STUDY like your life depends on it!! This is college so no hand holding, form a study group, don't skip class and be careful about answering questions in class
Super fun. Makes learning easier.
This guy is a real gem hidden away at a community college. He clearly loves microbiology, and has a passion for teaching it. He loves his job. The best professor I have had yet. Not an easy class at all. Before I chose his class, I heard he was the hardest, but best micro professor nhcc had. It was true.
He is very funny. He cares about some students than others. His test is very difficult. You have to study on your own most of the time. Listen to everything he says in class because he sometimes put bonus questions on the test that has nothing to do with the class. All in all I would not take him with any other difficult class.
I thought Paul was an amazing professor! You definitely need to show up to lecture and RECORD THE LECTURES! It's microbiology, so you have to work for your grade. You cannot slack off. Recording the lectures and reviewing lecture notes are crucial to doing well! I would definitely take a class with him again!!
Paul is fantastic! If you want an A you better work for it!! Etiology, key to passing this class. If you dont know the etiology or you WILL NOT pass. Take pictures of all your lab results and tape them in you lab notebook! Record the lectures and listen to them! He is more than willing to help you extra if you need it so ask questions and get help
Paul sets up many opportunities to assure your success in his class, but like many science courses, you will need to put forth the effort to receive a good grade. His third lec exam is hell and the final is similar, so do not procrastinate; listen to his tips throughout the semester and take good notes.
Lectures were usually pretty interesting and he is very passionate about microbiology. Record the lectures! His tests are very difficult and he expects students to have a thorough understanding of the material. The class isn't very structured so it's important to consistently, the tests have too much material to study in a night or two.

I took Microbiology with Professor Paul and it was a very tough class due to the extensive amount of material. DO NOT SKIP LECTURE. His exams are all lecture based, so make sure to record and really understand what he teaches. If you study and keep up with the material, it is possible to do well in this class. Paul is willing to help along the way.
He started teaching my 1000 level biology class halfway through the semester after some tough realities. Despite the circumstances, he did a great job carrying through the semester and making light. His lectures are very interesting and his passion shows through his teaching.
He was a friendly and funny person. He skips some lab lecture and the test was hard.
Paul is an excellent fun teacher. Hints to do well in class: You must attend lectures b/c most of the material is COVERED on the test!! Download a good quality recorder and record the lectures. It's time consuming but worth it. Also focuse on the DISEASES and their ETIOLOGY . You will have to reading on your own about some disease. Ask questions
Paul himself is just fine, it was definitely the material itself that was the hard part about this class. Although I did end up going home from class confused and having to teach myself the content through videos often. (Pro tip- watch the crash course biology videos, they help so much with explaining) Overall really nice and helpful guy
Paul is a smart & funny guy! But TOUGH class! Its college MICRO right. I gave him 3-star bc I feel like he doesnt cater much to his 2nd language students, many of them drop. He kind of just expect them to keep up w/ the rest. No study materials, No hw, No quiz, ALL lecture (sounds good right) but makes it hard for students like that to advance.
The only teacher I will get up at 8 am for. Paul is amazing, his lectures are very engaging and funny. He cares deeply about his students success, and will offer advice and opportunities outside of class. His tests are very hard though, he prefers open ended questions over multiple choice.
He states that you shouldn't have to read your book unless checking up on what we talked about in class, however, there are many times because he gets so off topic that he tells you to go look in up in your book. His exams are hard and not very similar at all to what he lectures on and states that we only test on what he lectures.
Paul is a great guy! Id laugh at his brilliant jokes in lecture. But he doesn't give you much; no specific study guide (he says to not rely on it) no quarterly quizzes & no hmwk. TOUGH! Grades are just base on exams, if u dont so hot on those, u wont have other grades to help back it up. Most days I go home to study on my own. Unfortunately I w/d.
Paul is so good at explaining key concepts in Lecture. His analogies that included families and houses make the lecture and concepts easy to understand. Make sure to record lectures just in case you need to go back and listen to something again. ALSO take great NOTES they will help with exams. READ biology chapters and you should be good.
pay attention in lecture, do the online homework. Make sure you read the chapters you are on and study them his study guides are pretty helpful. He isn't good in lab though pretty unorganized in there but a very chill and funny guy.
Prof Melchior is very passionate about what he teaches, cares about his students, and sees potential in everyone! Very funny and friendly! RECORD LECTURES, IT'S WORTH IT. You NEED to know the material from lecture. Good idea to read, but his slides helped too. He's pretty disorganized in labs. Otherwise it's mostly the material that's difficult.
Pay attention. Apply yourself. Paul provides guidance and is supportive if you take the initiative to learn and ask questions. He is engaging and relates the material to real-life situations. Record lectures. Review/re-listen to lectures. Type out lectures and digest the material so you internalize it. You will do great. Totally worth it!
hes a funny guy he has a great personality but the way he has his class set up is horrible. he taught the class as if we already knew what he was talking about. he made the class way too difficult and his exams were the worst. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Paul is a great and class is fun and interesting! His exams are mainly based off of lecture, however he will require you to learn quite a few bacteria/viruses, some he goes over in class and the others you use your book for. START EARLY WITH THESE! It's alot to remember in a short time. RECORD THE LECTURES! Take notes in lecture then fill in gaps.
Very hard class with lots of material. Exams were very difficult as well.
Class was difficult. He needs to be more organized with notes, dates, and labs. Some exam questions were hard because the answers were hidden within lec. videos. Most students were failing in my section. He's a great guy and has hilarious humor. But the organization needs improvement in order to help out other students.
On a personal level Paul is very nice and even funny but in my opinion he sucks as a teacher. His online class grade was dictated by almost all tests. Only like half the material on the tests were in his lectures the rest you had to get from the textbook. The tests were very hard. Half the points were from essay questions.
Honestly he is a good professor, but his class was very hard. Theres a lot of things to study for, and you really gotta use your brain for this subject. That being said, make sure to look back on the lectures/textbook if things dont make sense. Shoot him an email too, hes pretty responsive.
Not very organized with his syllabus and I didn't get the point of his zoom meetings since he ramble on about other things. Too much textbook use can get confusing as I didn't know what exactly I'm looking for in the text. I pretty much gave up throughout the semester and made the decision to just retake microbiology with a different professor.
No notes at all on the exam which I didn't really understand considering the amount of pages we had to read in the textbook. Study guide was useless (couldn't even use it).
Professor Melchoir's microbiology class was excellent. It was definitely hard work, but he did a good job teaching. He was always available for extra help and was very accommodating about an emergency I experienced. If I weren't a visiting student, I would take another course of Melchoir's.
just terrible overall, I do not recommend this teacher at ALL. Did not understand the class not one bit.
He is a great Professor, but He is not organized at all, his lecture dose not match his power point slides and either one match what come in the exams. Exams are so hard and most of the student are falling . Exams are the only way to get points No homework or quizzes to make up any exam low grades.
You need to RECORD his lectures and take notes while in class. Assigned readings are time-consuming, don't go heavy on these (I rarely read them). You will have to memorize a couple of diseases, but it's all about understanding the mechanism in which they damage/cause illness. He is available and willing to help as long as you seek it. Be organized
awful professor all around. He claims that this class is an introductory class to Microbiology but he teaches it as if it is a med-school level class. Get ready to teach yourself probably 2/3 of the material on your own. He barely teaches half of the material himself and then tests you on the information you learn on your own. TAKE A DIFFERENT PROF
I never perceived myself as a bad test taker until I took this class. Melchior is a nice and caring professor but the way his tests are structured is confusing and quite unfair. I studied for hours on my exam and got a low score, but overall he is nice and understanding.
He is a great guy, very approachable, and will help you if you seek help, but he is very unorganized especially posting grades, you never know what is your average grade until the end of the semester. He only gives you exams, there are no quizzes or homework to help with your grade. Had half of the class dropping and multiple students failing.
Worst professor ever. Every day feels like he's just winging the lecture. You're graded by 4 exams and a few useless lab assignments worth 5-10 points each. There's barely any resources on D2L to study with. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing, he's so unorganized, and his exams are full of questions we never even went over in class.
He was just so difficult to understand and most of his exams questions were very tough, nothing compared to what we did in class. The lab sessions were just awful.
his lectures were a lot and exams were nothing compared to the lectures. lab was difficult and most of the things didn't make sense at all. half of the class was as confused as I was. wouldn't recommend taking this class again. just go ahead and call it a day .
Paul is such a amazing professor! His class is very hard yes but you have to put the work in to get the grade you want. His lectures are awesome! You do have to do a lot of work outside the classroom to prepare for the exams so keep that in mind. People that gave a low score likely did not make the effort they needed to.
His class was hard but understandable. He cares about you actually learning and is willing to help you outside of class. Attendance is not mandatory, but you need to be in class to be able to understand the material. you don't need to read the book to understand subjects, as long as you show up in lecture and really study for exams, you'll pass.
Do not take class.
This was an intense online course. You are graded solely off his recorded lectures only. No homework, just 5 big, insanely HARD exams. He expects you to watch all his long, 25+ recorded lectures and magically memorize the massive info he gives and then tests you in person. The exams are VERY HARD and majority of the class failed his course.
This professor is alright. He often said things and then claimed he never said them. Like giving instructions, will say something incorrectly and then blame it on us. Tests were too long for the time given. Besides that, lectures were good and there's not a ton of homework. You need to study and set yourself up for success though.
don't take this class. As a person, he's ok. As a teacher, he teaches way too advanced and expects u to learn 10 concepts in 1 week. Not much homework but his tests are hard. Has nothing to do with the material we learned. You'll most likely need a tutor. Overall, he told my class we can't be nurses if we couldn't do his class.
This professor focuses too much on being funny and often came off as rude or ignorant sometimes. He wasn't awful, but I definitely didn't love it. Disappointing.
This class is very difficult. There is not any homework at all so your really focusing on passing exams. Because of that I did not do well. He's very kind, but the lectures were confusing. There's not a lot of homework or other graded material to bring up your grade. Other than that I really enjoyed the class material.
This dude will literally lie to you about what is on his tests it's abl
Paul is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students but takes time to get used to. As long as you show him you are willing to put in the time and effort in the class he will make sure to help you in any way he can. He definitely teaches a very challenging class but it is very manageable as long as you really study. Highly recommend!
Paul is an amazing prof & person. This class is NOT easy. I have taken Mirco 3x & this time was the most I have learned. He grades almost entirely from exams so be prepared. You NEED to take the time to study & learn the material outside of class. Meet with him during office hours, he will do everything he can to help his students.
very intellectual, has a good sense of humor. issue is that grading rule is u can't get a grade higher than the average of all exams/the final exam. Ex: your overall grade is a B, but since all ur exams were a C and under, u can't get a B. All your hard work is kind of for nothing tbh. has a hard time coming down to his students level to teach.
Lectures are fun, but he doesn't offer extra credit, your lab grade doesn't help your lecture score. Be prepared to study HARD & treat this class as your only class. He doesn't update grades & forgets to put homework out in a timely manner. Responds to emails VERY late. Also doesn't take fault when the full class is confused on a subject.
Everything he says that you "won't need to know" will BE ON THE EXAM. Tough grader too because he wants you to understand the entirety of each chapter, what proteins are involved and the specific functions, etc... He makes quite a few mistakes in his lectures and exam questions as well. Good sense of humor, but he's difficult to follow.
Paul grades fairly and you clearly know the expectations. If you put the time into the class by watching the online lectures and taking notes on the power points, you will know what to expect for the tests. You have to put the time in to get out of the class what you need for the nursing program. Labs are fun. He's available for extra help.
3 exams and one final, no homework, solely graded on exams and he is a very strict grader. Said you should be able to write an essay on every topic of the test, that is how detailed his questions on the exam are.
Prof thinks that his classes are simply difficult, but the difficulty does not come from the material, it comes from the complete lack of structure. The only material we were provided was lecture videos recorded a half decade ago. Study guides are posted, but posted last minute and only include about 1/4th of the tested material. Do not recommend .
when it comes to Paul i am torn. On one hand he is a really funny guy who is truly passionate about his work, personality wise he is a 5/5. But then you get to his organization and teaching which is a 1/5.... he almost never posts online, constantly made promises he never fulfilled, forgot about tests that he scheduled and just seemed lost at times
Students needs to put in effort by reading his slides and make notes. He is approachable, understanding, and genuinely helpful. He advised me to focus on his slides, videos, and my notes instead of over-reading the textbook, which made a big difference. Reach out early if you're struggling, as waiting until the end of the semester is not as helpful.
