This class is alright, Paul's teaching style is annoying (notes from his spoken word). Tests are decently hard, if you took great notes you'll do fine. He lets class out 20-30 min early EVERY class. The material is somewhat interesting.

Not the most interesting class I've ever taken, and Melendez' teaching style doesn't do much for me. Overall though, it is a fairly enjoyable class with movie days and guest speakers. The exams are pretty difficult. But extra credit and memo assignments help boost your grade. He is a very fair grader, doesn't want to see kids who try in class fail.

Paul is one of the best lecturers at the UofA. The tests were all based on the lectures and case studies, so you always know what will be on them. He also provides lots of extra credit opportunities for going to ethics events outside of class. Overall some of the most interesting and engaging lectures I've been to, and he is always super friendly.

Overall, this is a fairly easy class. Open note tests (notes have to be on paper/printed though), practically all you need to know on the test is covered in lecture (you can get by without the textbook), and he is very kind, engaging, and willing to answer questions during lecture.

BNAD 302 is an easy class if you go to class and write down every word on the slides. Grade is made up of 3 open-note exams and 4 easy memo assignments based on guest lectures. He offers extra credit and makes his lectures funny. The only thing I didn't like was if you sit in the front he often touches you (hug, fist bump, knock on the shoulder).

He is an amazing professor I loved him! Attendance is not mandatory however he does not post the slides so you have to go to class to get the material. However the lectures were interesting and easy to follow. You get as many notes as you want for exams so as long as you go to class and take notes you will get an A.

I took the 3 week version of this course so there was a lot of material to cover, but as long as you kept up with the weekly lectures, the workload was super manageable with just a weekly test and extra credit. The only thing was that we were told we needed to purchase the textbook, but then didn't use it at all - all exams were based on lectures.

Love this professor so much. His lectures are engaging, and he is a personable person. He's an inspiration and a connection I'm blessed to have. Just go to class, take notes, and you will ace the exams. Depending on the course, you might have to do light reading outside of class; however he is very clear with what he expects and how he grades!

One of my favorite professors. Genuinely cares about the well-being of his students. Offers lots of extra credit for BNAD 302, which is an extremely test-heavy class. There are 300 points worth of exams (3x100) and 100 points worth of memo assignments (4x25). The exams can be difficult but are open-note. I'd advise copying the lecture slides for it

This class was so ridiculously easy. In the beginning I was a little scared because there's only 4 grades in the gradebook (3 tests and 1 group project), but he lets you have typed notes for the tests so if you take good notes you will definitely pass. Just use ctrl+f, I got almost 100% on every test.

Best teacher I've ever had at UA. You need to go to lectures, but they're engaging and interesting. Everything is applicable to real life, and the assignments are pretty easy. As long as you take the exams and HW seriously, you'll get an A. He responds to emails quickly, and he is happy to answer questions after class. Super funny and nice.

Great professor and lecturer. You are graded on four memos and three exams. If follow the template you'll receive an A on the memos. The tests are not cumulative, they follow a certain set of modules, and they are open note. But there are things like case-studies that are not in the notes, so attendance is encouraged to have all the class material.

Class is easy and an easy ethics credit for Business majors for the requirement. Reason for the low ranking is that Dr. Melendez owns the book for the class you use and seems like a narcissist a lot of the time. But if you can get past that it's and easy class as long as you take notes.

One of the best business professors at this school. Super cool guy, makes lectures entertaining and you are only graded by 4 one page papers, and 3 open note exams. I really like Prof Melendez and how he utilizes gvuest speakers which is refreshing as many other of my classes never did this. Great guy and cool class

The professor himself is great, his lectures are entertaining which makes the hour go by pretty fast. The exams are what make up your grade and he doesn't provide much practice. Attendance is definitely mandatory because he presents slides that he waits to release. Exams are really hard, I was averaging 70's even though I studied so much.

I would not recommend taking this course. Despite being only 1.5 points away from an A, the professor refused to round my grade, even though I completed all the extra credit, consistently attended class, took detailed notes, and earned 100% on the memos. While he is kind and engaging, he is strict and not flexible with grading.

Although this class isn't too hard, the exams are hard and to get a good score on your exam you HAVE to be in class or you'll fail. I'm a current freshman and he isn't lenient with rounding grades and has no empathy for his students. This will affect my Eller application and I may not get my first choice in Eller now because of the harsh grading.

So I took this class for a business credit to find out it doesn't count as a gen ed. The professor DOES NOT care if you succeed and genuinely acts like he could care less about you as a person. he literally said that his wife told him that he is too hard on his students during my lecture. and the class was easy fs but there is no leniency at all.

I personally would not take him again. Fabulous lectures - entire class is test based, there is no mercy. He doesn't round grades. He is the definition of narcissist. Test questions are based on lectures, none of the questions make sense and are all over the place. Even if you show up 100% and pay attention, still not guaranteed an A.

He is not a bad professor, the exams just carry heavily in the class. There is a ton of extra credit work which you absoulety need to get high grades on to have a good grade in the class. There is a couple memo assignments, lots of guest speakers. Exams are open book and open note so take really good notes you will need them.

Paul is a great guy and gives good lectures. The only gripe I have is that the class is only graded off 4 exams, 3 projects, and a handful of quizzes. The projects and quizzes are easy and there is extra credit. Exams are sometimes badly worded or confusing, but he mentions everything in class. Overall, Paul is a good professor who cares.
