Had Dr. Nodzak for lab both 201 and 202! By far my favorite teacher at UC! He cares so much about his students and really gets to know his students as well! I have couldnt think of one bad thing to say about this guy! HIGHLY recommended!
Amazing teacher, is an actually M.D. and very knowledgeable on all aspects of biology. Often will include his his real life experiences of being a doctor into his lectures which imo makes them very interesting. You need to go to class every day, as he does attendance in the form of fill in the blank notes. But overall very easy
I had Dr. Nodzak for A+P 201 and 202 lab as my lab teacher, and then as my A+P 203 lecture prof as well as lab teacher. He is great! The class isn't easy, but if you attend them all you'll have plenty of opportunity to both learn and apply the skills. Extra credit is offered throughout the course, you have to earn it. Very fair-LOVES to teach.
He is an excellent teacher and really cares if you do well in his class. He is always glad to answer any questions to help you learn the material. He also offers a lot of extra credit so if you don't do well on a test, you can make it up. The course is tough, but if you pay attention to him and study what he tells you to study it's not bad.
I LOVED his class. He's a great guy. You do have to go everyday, but sitting through his lectures really arent that bad. I think his teaching methods are very effective. Go to class and study the material and you should be fine. I didnt use the textbook much though.
Dr.Nodzak is a wonderful person and teacher as well. He cares about his students and stresses the practical uses you would find working in the medical field. His experience as a M.D. and his general love for the material makes him SO worth while to take.He is a hands on teacher and will try his hardest not to leave anyone behind. Just AWESOME!
Nodzak is the best professor you could really ask for. He actually cares about his students and makes an effort to get to know you. Overall great professor and a sweet guy! If you have the choice to be in his class, without a doubt choose him.
best teacher ever!!
A great professor. He wants his students to do well. He gives weekly quizes and daily assignments but they are simple. A good amount of bonus offered too. Take him!
I LOVED Dr. Nodzak. He's a very sweet guy, and his teaching methods work. If you attend class and do the homework it impossible not to get an A or B.
I loved Dr. Nodzak! He is by far one of the best professors that I have ever had. His methods really work, even though they aren't always easy. I would recommend him to anyone, any day!
By far my favorite/most helpful professor! He really cares for his students and wants them to understand the knowledge. A&P can have a lot of information but he really helps you to understand it and gets you excited to learn the material. Now that I don't have him this quarter I really miss him because I was so excited to learn with him!:)
THE BOMB PROFESSOR. He makes it so much fun to be in class. His lectures are pretty informational and lengthy, but he practically tells you what will be on his exams. He is ALWAYS willing to meet with you and help you. It's a shame he doesn't teach 202.
Great professor. He really knows his stuff, and teaches very well. The class itself is very difficult, and he makes it possible to receive good grades.
Nodzak is extremely helpful. He actually cares about how well his students do. I had him in a class of 125 and he made it a priority to know students by their name. Also, he holds his own study sessions before all of his exams which are really helpful. I highly recommend Nodzak!
Great! Make sure to take at least one class from him if you are in the sciences! He made this class exciting and I learned more in lecture than I did in the hands on labs. The personal help that he gives at study sessions is above and beyond what any other professor is doing. TAKE HIS CLASS!
I cannot say enough great things about him. He is so helpful, & after emailing him one time, he still knows my name. Having to take Mary Fox for 202 after having him for 201 was painful. Cannot wait to take 203 with him. He is straightforward with his questions & wants to know if you know the material, not try to trick you.
Best professor I've had yet, I don't know how he does it but its impossible to succumb to boredom and zone out during lectures like I tend to do in so many other classes because his lectures are so informative and really hold your attention. I've never had a class in which the lectures contributed so strongly to my learning of the material.
Great overall professor. He actually likes being there and wants you to learn as an individual. He is one of the very few teachers that will actually take the time and interest to learn your name. Very good professor and a really cool guy.
He is a great teacher! The class itself is a lot of information. But he does all he can to help you pass the class and understand the material. I will definitely take a course by him again. And if given the option, take his lab as well instead of another instructor.
Dr. Nodzak is by far the BEST professor I have ever had at UC. He is very dedicated to his students and don't be surprised if he remembers your name. He likes to know his people and help you as much as he possibly can. I had him in lab as well and had it on Friday at 8am. For an 8am lab on a Friday I still learned a lot and enjoyed it.
Nodzak is probably the best teacher I have had. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He holds extra review sessions which help out a ton if you go to them. His tests are hard but if you study and put in the time you should be able to get an A.
Great class and truly great professor who cares. Take him if you can because he is the best one. Class isn't easy but what anatomy class is?
Great teacher!! Very difficult course work, but I feel like I learned so much
He's helpful and a nice guy if you go talk to him individually. Personally, I thought he was a little condescending in lecture and didn't enjoy the class at all. But, yes, he does put time into learning names and teaching.
Dr. Nodzak is wonderful. He genuinely wants you to do well in his class and makes sure you have all opportunities possible to do so. His SI leaders are the best and he makes it a point that if you don't understand a concept, that you get motivated and excited to master it. LOVE Nodzak!
Paul is the man! he will challenge as a student you but if you're passionate about healthcare/medicine then Nodzak is the prof to take. He is a former ER doctor and relates his experiences to class. Might be the best prof I've ever had.
Dr. Nodzak is one of the best professors I have ever hard. He's not easy, and he will push you to do your best, but if your are planning on entering clinical medicine he's the best. He relates his personal, clinical ER experiences to the class, and keeps you interested. He will know your name and he wants you to succeed.
Challenging class but Prof. Nodzak is very clear and available when you need extra help. Attend class everyday to get PRS points. Plus, his lectures aren't boring. He is a great professor and I highly recommend taking his class.
Nodzak is a great professor. He was a physician, so he is extremely knowledgable on every topic he teaches. Reading the book is needed to complete some of the notes. Come to class to get as many PRS points as possible. Do the LearnSmart extra credit. Study the notes and the fill in the blank activities on blackboard for the test!
You will learn so much from this class, but be prepared to dedicate yourself. Dr. Nodzak cares about his students and is very entertaining during lecture. He expects the best out of you and if you give it your all you should get a B or higher. Hardest class I've ever taken though, no diddling though this one.
Dr. Nodzak is probably THEE best professor here at UC. He actually cares about his students and will take the time learn learn most of his students names. Go to his office hours he's very helpful and knows how to explain things perfectly! Challenging course, but you will learn SO MUCH from it. Never a dull moment in class either.
Nodzak is a great teacher. But not an easy A. Thought provoking tests. Practicals are fairly easy. I'm a straight A student, struggling to maintain A displays the difficulty of class. Fast paced class. Study the book. And ppts. This class will take a lot of your time, lots of students drop. Try not to have other difficult courses with this one.
I was reading the reviews on here, and all of the positive feedback is true. It's hard to believe, but he actually DOES care whether you do well or not. As in, he tells you pointers for tests not because he wants you to get it right and make him seem good, but rather for you to understand the concept so you can apply it wherever you need to.
Dr. Nodzak is by far the BEST professor I have ever taken! He is very clear on what is expected of you and holds you accountable. The course itself is not very easy but he does his absolute best to make sure you understand the material and cares if you do well. In a lecture with more than 100 students he knows every students name.
Dr. Nodzak was the best teacher I have ever had for a science class. Super helpful and amazing at teaching. The class is very tough and time consuming. Going to class is so important... if you don't go, you miss tons of PRS points and really detailed notes. Although, he does podcast all his lectures and post them online! Good luck!
Dr. Nodzak is a fantastic professor. The material is difficult, but if you take the course with any other instructor its a big mistake. He makes the information understandable. The tests aren't too terribly difficult. My average was probably around a 91%. But there are extra credit assignments to help. HW is easy. He truly cares, and knows allnames
Run for your life. I know he's a great professor and all, but he's not helpful at all or clear in lectures. All he does is fill his lecture notes during lectures, not much explanation is going on. Also when you go to his office hours he would sometimes answer your questions, but usually will tell you to go to SI. This class is so stressful with lab
He is a really good teacher. He's Interesting and tells jokes when he's in a good mood. Overall he is a really strict professor though. He goes through lectures fast, assigns alot of homework, and preclass reading work, offers extra credit(very little amount), the tests are brutal, but you definitely learn a lot. The class is demanding.
Hands down the best professor I've had in my entire college career. He won't even make you buy the textbook and you won't need to if you just show up to class and pay attention. An actual teacher, imagine that. Great constructive criticism. My grandmother died the morning of finals and he's probably the only professor that took it into account.
Awful.
he's lectures very clear, you have to put efforts in this class anyway. BEST PROFESSOR AT UC.
Dr. Nodzak is the best professor I have had during my time at UC. He really cares about his students. You have to work hard to earn your grade, but since most people taking this class plan on going into health-related fields, if you're not willing to put in the work to a Gen Ed, you might as well switch majors anyways! Work hard and you'll do well.
Nodzak is an amazing teacher and if you have a choice, choose him. He gives you a lot of information but if you study you can get decent grades. Go to his office hours and SI review sessions. He gives you every chance to succeed and actually learn the material. All of his classes are recorded but you should still go to get clicker points.
Amazing teacher but extremely strict. I dedicated my life to this class.
I really enjoyed his class. It's tough, but if you study and put forth the effort you should do just fine. He really wants you to do well, but he doesn't make it easily attainable. You HAVE to study and you HAVE to go to class. Also do the extra credit! It's really helpful in the end!
get ready for the hardest class of your life, make sure to do all extra credit given!!! It saved my grade at the end of the semester.
Fill out the GUIDED NOTES (haven't had these since high school) which should be extremely easy during lecture considering he tells you exactly what you need to write down. What you write down will be exactly what is on the exam. His exams cover a lot of information, but they are easy as long as you study the information he provides you with.
The class overall is not a easy class by any means; however, if you put in the time you will be happy with the end result. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, it is length but in the end it is about a 25 point curve. This is the only curve you will get in this class. Exams are not hard, but he will try and tick you so read questions carefully!
Nodzak is an amazing teacher. There is a lot of work that goes a long with this class but I am very happy I took it. I learned sooo much. You don't have to be extremely smart to do well, as long as you can memorize and are motivated you'll do great. Also if you have any questions he is very good at clarifying during his office hours.
Really good teacher for a really hard class. Would recommend to a friend. Get ready to work hard, but it is definitely a necessary for your profession if you are considering taking it.
Paul Nodzak is an anatomy professor rock star, and he knows it. And he deserves that distinction! Most informative and well-structured class you will take. It is VERY time consuming, but you see big time results for the time you put in. Go to SI sessions if possible, I know people think they're "dumbed down" but they help so much and get you an A.
The greatest teacher I have ever had in any course. Truthfully cares about his students. Knows every kids name out of 700+. Highly respectable. Hilarious during lecture and makes each day fun!
Very rude towards students and does not answer questions if you email him or got to office hours, he will just tell you to read the book or go to SI.
Best professor I have ever had, Dr. Nodzak cares so much about his students and their learning. It is a hard class and you will have to put a lot of work into it but you will learn so much. This is a highly structured class with a professor who demands respect so get ready to work hard and learn a lot about anatomy.
One of the best professors there is. If you are willing to do the work, I would highly recommend him. You will learn a lot in this class!
Nodzak was a very knowledgeable professor. He comes across very blunt, and is clear from the beginning that you will need to work for your grade. Before every lecture, read the section in the book, do your homework, and study what you learned that night. Do not get behind!! Expects a lot from you, but it is not impossible.
Nodzak is easily the greatest professor at UC. Has so much care for the knowledge of this upcoming generation. He expects so much from you, but you will thank him later. You will learn more in this class alone than you have in any of your classes taken combined. I have so much respect for him and will miss him and his amazing class.
Nodzak is brillant, and you can tell by the way he lectures. The class has heavy amounts of difficult material, but if you put time in you can pass. Try on PRS, it really pays off.
Dr. Paul Nodzak is no doubt the best teacher I have ever had, this man is a legend! His class is a lot of work so be prepared for a lot of homework. But you'll beg to have him again as a teacher later on once you finish his class. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!
Nodzak was a great professor and if I actually applied myself to this course, I think I would have done better. He doesn't just read the powerpoint, he actually explains it. Plus SI sessions were super helpful. However, he was very rude during lecture, yet super nice when in office hours. He is also very strict about cell phones.
Hardest class I have ever taken but what you put into it is what you get out. Come prepared, study every night, go to SI/ tutoring, study in advance of the exam, and you will succeed. He wants students to succeed, but makes them work for it. Great class. He is the smartest person and really knows what he is talking about.
Best Professor I have ever had. He literally remembers EVERYONE of his student's names in his big lecture. His door is always open and he is always willing to help you. I STRUGGLED with ANP1 (when I didn't have him) and when I had him for ANP2 he helped me study and my grades improved immensely from ANP 1 . If you take anatomy take his course.
Gives a good lecture and he knows it. Very smart but is a bit of a jackass. Thinks he is a shining star and isn't very understanding. This class consumed my life and I stressed about it constantly. My other grades suffered because there was always something to be doing for this class! Lots of homework and assignments, very difficult.
Dr. Nodzak is overall a good professor. However, he wants things done a certain way and if you do not meet his criteria you will have a difficult time with the class. Lectures are interesting but move very quickly so be sure to keep up or watch the recordings. Exams are kind of difficult but there are opportunities for tutoring if you need it.
Okay teacher, really hard class
Dr. Nodzak is one of the biggest jackasses I've ever had as a professor. He belittles students when they do not achieve what he expects and makes them feel awful. He knows a tremendous amount of info. about anatomy but has a big head from practicing as a medical doctor. It will consume all of your time.
I am now a senior in college and Dr. Nodzak is the best teacher I've ever had. I know that he really does care about all of his students. I think the reason people call him a "jackass" is because he does not sugar coat anything. That is not for everyone. If you are going into any medical field, TAKE THIS CLASS. You will not regret it.
Dr. Nodzak is a jerk. It's not that he doesn't sugarcoat anything. He is disrespectful and teaches people out of fear. He switched to a new book this year but didn't change his PRS or exam questions to match it. He has unresolved personal issues and takes it out on the class. A&Pis a good class though so I would recommend it despite Dr. Nodzak.
He is very knowledgeable and there is no doubt about that. He is very confident, but in an arrogant way. Material is very tough. You are sometimes expected to finish a section of the guided notes in class before it is covered, meanwhile he walks around & gets annoyed that we don't know the answers. Very particular about seating, phones, etc.
Dr. Nodzak's a great teacher. He knows his stuff and by the end of the class you're going to know a lot, too. This class is hard and you're going to have to work for it, but Nodzak's very accessible if you need help. Study the notes - anything could end up on the test & study the textbook diagrams! He loves putting those on tests. Great teacher!
Excellent teacher. I took both semesters of anatomy with Dr. Nodzak and they were by far the classes I learned the most in. It's a tough class and you need to go to class, study hard, and ask for help if you need it but it will be worth it if you put in the effort. Dr. Nodzak knows what he's talking about - I loved his stories about being an MD.
Best professor I have ever had. He can be harsh and blunt, but he genuinely cares about your learning. You must read the book to get a better understanding of the material and show up to class or you will miss the notes.
Literally the hardest class of my life. Studied for 2 weeks straight for the final and only got an 80%. He loves to trick you so you fail. You will never do as good as you think. Your dreams will be crushed in his class. I loved anatomy in HS and then took this class and now hate my life. Professor is not afraid to make you feel dumb. Avoid him!!!!
Paul Nodzak is one of the most knowledgeable professors I have had. He's very detailed and organized. The class operates very smoothly, but also very quick. If you take this class, try your best to attend every class, review your exams during office hours, and come to class prepared. There was a lot of homework, but overall a great class!
he is rude, gives lots of Homework
I had to take AP1& AP2 with him last year. He is so rude, &he likes his lectures done in a certain way. He knows way too much information& confuses you with what you need to know & what you dont. the exams are so hard, I never got an A on one exam. you have homework every night& he belittles his students if they don't understand. terrible teacher
I took him for A&P 1. He is very smart and knows what he is talking about, but he is a very rude teacher. He makes fun of students for not knowing answers and I did not enjoy his personality. You will have homework every single night and have to study for tests weeks in advance to learn all the material. I do not recommend him.
Nodzak is an amazing professor if you are actually willing to take the time to learn the material. This is a class where you are definitely going to have to work for your grade, and you'll probably need to go to SI sessions or tutoring. Some say he was too harsh or rude, but he is respectful and helpful to those who treat him with the respect.
He often calls the class dumb, thick, etc. Isn't very understanding of anything outside of a&p- expects you to be dedicating hours to a&p everyday, even if you are not on track to be a PT. Does not explain or relay information very well. Lots and lots of lecture and online bookwork. NO BOOK, THEN EXPECT TO FAIL! Does not curve exams!
You need to go to his class. There is a lot of outside work you have to do to maintain a good grade. He is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever met, he cares about you, but only if you show him you care about his class.
This course is extremely rigorous but rewarding. Dr. Nodzak structures the course in such a way to make you successful in college. Reading the textbook is mandatory to be successful in this class.
He was by far the hardest teacher I've had, but he gives you a clear outline of what he expects, and as long as you follow that you should be fine. It a ton of work, but his class has helped me so much with all of my nursing classes this year. He is also very good about helping you with questions you have, so don't be afraid to ask him.
This class is very hard and it feels like good old Paul doesn't want you to succeed. He calls the class stupid more than once. You will never not be stressing about his class. When you think you know what he's talking about you don't. You constantly are studying but are never able to fully understand. Good luck if you take his class, you'll need it
Dr. Nodzak was a great professor to have my freshman year. I'm taking him again next semester for A&P II. He's really harsh in class, and people may say he's rude, but I do think he's trying to be funny. Definitely go to his office to talk to him if you have ANY issues, he is a nice guy and genuinely wants you to learn the material.
Dr. Nodzak reinforced my love for A&P. However, he is a professor that demands a strong work ethic for his classes (weed out class). There is a large amount of information to learn, but if you attend all lectures, go to SI sessions, do all the homework, WRITE OUT learning outcomes, and make flashcards, you should be able to UNDERSTAND A&P:)
Test material is very fair. Expects a lot out of students; but the work & effort from him is returned. Will learn so much authentic, valuable material. Be prepared for class. PRS every day. Course really not as scary as presents at first, just have to put the study time in. Does not return exams.
Before the first lecture, Dr. Nodzak had online homework due and a document with assigned seats for lecture. Yes, he assigned seats for over 300 students. He seems very scary and rude for a while, but people usually warm up to him. Everyone bombs his first exam. Go visit him during office hours & use the SI's in his class. Curves PRS pts not exams.
Absolutely loved him as a teacher. Somewhat intimidating at first but really helps you learn the information and is passionate about it. Go to all the classes, participate and try to understand. OH, and don't even touch your cell phone unless you'd like to be called out.
Dr. Nodzak may seem scary at first, however, if you work hard in his class, you'll really warm up to him. I could tell that he really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He gives you all the tools you need to be successful, so it's up to you to do well in the class. Easily one of the best teachers I've had at UC.
Dr. Nodzak is a great teacher. At first he seems SO intimidating, but he actually cares about how you do in his class. Do your work, study in advance, take lab practicals seriously, and you will be fine. This class is one that really proves you reap what you sow. Don't get discouraged, because everyone gets lost sometimes. Super structured class!
Nodzak is intimidating and unrealistic with his expectations for students with a full course load in their 1st semester of college. Studying and going to SI's and open labs weren't enough for me and I came from a strong anatomy background. take a&p at uc blue ash if you want a better experience. Nodzak doesn't curve except for prs at the end
Nodzak is very knowledgeable in what he teaches, however I find him condescending and rude most of the time. He teaches off fear, and I personally dont agree with that. You will not do well in this class if you arent prepared for lecture (read the chapter prior to coming), studying for lab practicals, or studying a lot for the exams.
Hated him at first because it's a hard class but he's such a good guy and he absolutely loves what he's teaching
Dr. Nodzak was my favorite professor. As long as you do the work ahead of time and come prepared for class it is easy to understand the material. Nodzak might seem intimidating but you can tell that he really cares for his students. That being said, he will know your name the first day of class even if you have never seen him before.
I wrote a review after taking A&P I, I just finished up A&P II and I have to say Dr. Nodzak has really grown on me. He is a funny guy and genuinely wants his students to learn and master the material. He can seem intimidating but one on one he is very nice and he will probably end up being the most effective professor I'll have.
I would only take this professor if you are a premed student. He is extremely difficult on tests and the lab is also very difficult because it is timed two questions per minute. His lecture tests have a paragraph per question and over a hundred questions.
An amazing professor and mentors. Very glad I was required to take his class.
Dr. Nodzak is an awesome professor. He is tough and makes you work for your grade, but you learn so much from his class. I suggest studying for his exams and lab practicals a week in advance. A&P 2 is definitely harder than A&P 1 but I received in A in both!
Hard class but good professor. He is intimidating at first but really cares about his students
He is a very difficult professor. Can be rude at times. Expects you to know info before you get to class. He is very knowledgeable but unapproachable. There is no curves in his class except PRS. His exams are extremely difficult, I felt like I was taking the MCAT. Lab exams were timed as well.
Dr. Nodzack is by far one of the most challenging professors I have had in my college career. I received an A in both of his lectures but by no means did I skate through his class. You have to ACTUALLY READ the textbook and take notes. Prepare to work for your grades in his lecture. The SI instructors are very helpful and he always has office hours
Nodzak is a great professor if you work really hard in the class. To me his class was pretty difficult and required lots of studying and reviewing notes over and over again to prepare for the exam because everything he says will really be on the exam. However, if you needed help you can meet up with him and ask questions or any of the Si's or LA's.
Dr. Nodzak's class was the hardest class I have ever taken, but by far the most rewarding and interesting. There's lots of homework and you have to show up to class and take good notes in order to pass but if you put in the effort you will 100% understand the human body and how it works. SI sessions and office hours are a very helpful as well.
He is such an amazing professor! Yes he will take cheap shots and make jokes about the classes performance , yes he does expect you to know everything for lecture (don't worry hardly anyone actually does) but he wants you to be successful and at the end of the semester gives extra credit to boost grades. Put work in get good grades
Dr. Nodzak really intimidated me for the 1st couple of weeks, however as the weeks went on I realized he really cared about his students. His class is a lot of work and requires a lot of time and a ton of studying. Make sure to always be prepared before class and have an understanding of the topics covered before class. This class taught me a ton!
Great Class! Don't ever skip class. Be ready to do lots of homework outside of class. He will know who you are on the first day of class. Go to his office hours and meet him. If you don't put in the work you won't get a good grade. This class is combined with Anatomy Lab, I got an A in Lecture but a B in lab which is why I got an A-.
Dr. Nodzak is an amazing professor. Yes, his class is extremely difficult and made me want to drop many times he truly cares about every student well being in the class. He will go above and beyond to make sure you are prepared for his exams IF YOU PUT IN THE EFFORT TO ASK FOR HELP. He has 400+ students and knows everyone's name by the second week.
Get ready to work hard! This is a weed-out course. Nodzak is a great professor, and he really cares about his students. There are more than plenty resources available for students to do well, it just depends on whether or not you choose to use them. He definitely has a rude/stubborn side to him, but he appreciates if you throw sarcasm back at him.
Dr Nodzak has been by far my favorite professor at Cincinnati. While it is a very difficult course, it is manageable if you work for it. Don't skip class and make sure you read before hand. While Dr Nodzak seems very intimidating, he truly wants everyone to succeed and strives to get to know everyone on a more personal level.
Nodzak is not a great professor. Sure, he is quite knowledgable, but he makes this class extremely demanding and difficult. You learn stuff you will never use again and are belittled if you do not have an A or B in his class. He is rude and inconsiderate of others feelings when they need encouragement. A LOT of people drop.
This class was the hardest one I have ever taken. You have to work for your grade and adapt to the learning style in Dr. Nodzaks lectures. This class prepared me for all of my other classes and set me up for success. I would recommend taking if you're a dedicated student, if your not willing to work for the grade do not take this class.
Dr. Nodzak was the rudest professor I have ever had. He had to apologize several times for the things he said to his students during lecture. He also calls his students "not intelligent" almost every class. This was a mandatory class for my major, but I wish there was another professor option for Anatomy and Physiology.
He is amazing! I always heard thing about his classes that terrified me to no end, but I worked hard and surprised myself again and again on all his tests! He is a good guy with a sense of humor that, along with his clinical applications to the content, makes his lectures interesting to me. One of my hardest classes yet my absolute favorite class!
Amazing professor. Gives you all the necessary tools and resources needed to succeed, and if you put in the time and work... exceed. He has very high expectations, but he also does give extra credit towards tests and towards the end of semester that help a little. This class is all about personal growth and time management.
I didnt have a very good experience in this class and I tried everything. I went to the metacognition lecture (invite only), went to the TAs, actively participated in every class and yet still came up short all the time. I put countless hours towards this class and never saw results. Nodzak is also really rude and says a lot of things he shouldnt
Honestly one of the hardest classes Ive taken at UC. I ended with an A- because of the extra points he added at the end for going to every lecture and the review sessions. Met him in his office hours and he was very helpful and encouraging me to get an A. Overall, hard class but I learned so much.
Honestly Dr. Nodzak a truly a one of a kind professor. Summer of freshman year I came on this website and was terrified by some of the ratings and comments, but after a semester in his class I loved it. Definitely a VERY difficult class but if you put in the time and effort and go to his office hours you will get a A or B.
This class is very fast paced and hard for no reason. It could be easier since it is a mandatory class for many majors. Nodzak is also very rude for no reason and intimidating. Do not recommend.
in high school i never studied so i had to completely teach myself in this class and apply myself more than i ever have. i barely passed with a C and put in an incredible amount of work for the class. if youre naturally good at school this class will not be as hard but for me it was 110% the hardest class ive ever taken. Nodzak is very helpful.
Nodzak may seem scary, but he really cares about all of his students. Attend his office hours, the learning assistants office hours and the SI sessions and you will be fine !
Dr. Nodzak is the best teacher I have ever had. He is tough, but for good reason. I learned so much in this class and it will help me all throughout college and my career. This class is worth the work. Definitely my favorite class.
Dr. Nodzak is the best professor I've ever had. His lectures are amazing, and he helps you memorize many of the concepts, so you don't have to study as hard in other science classes. You will walk out feeling like a doctor.
Dr. Nodzak is a professor who really cares about his students doing well. This class can be very challenging and just memorizing facts will not help you on tests. If you don't spend a good amount of time out of class studying and reading the text you will not do well. He can be intimidating but if you put in the work he will respect you.
Dr. Nodzak is the best professor at UC. He makes you put in the work to get a good grade, but this course is so critical for us in healthcare, so it's good that he doesn't go easy on us. He's so welcoming in his office hours & wants EVERYONE to succeed. Some dislike him because they choose not to hold themselves accountable & need someone to blame.
He is an amazing teacher and gives you all the resources to be successful in his class. He does expect you to put the work in outside of class and it requires a great amount of studying. It was my favorite class , if you put the work in, learn good study habits, he gives you all the necessary materials to do well !
Dr. Nodzak is one my all-time favs. Yes, his classes are hard and he can be harsh, but that's only because he wants his students to do well. He and his TAs always available if you need help and seem to really care about the students.
Dr. Nodzak is an amazing professor. This was the most difficult class I have ever taken (material wise and workload wise). Although it was a hard class and I struggled, I am thankful I had the chance to have Nodzak as a professor. He really cares about his students and is always available if you need help understanding material.
simply the best professor at UC. You will learn a lot from him.
He is super nice but its a really tough class. If you put the work in though you will be fine. Reach out if you need help. And be ready to read the textbook, this is the hardest class I have ever taken. The workload is a lot.
I have never has a professor disrespect so many students. He would continuously tell students how "unintelligent" they are. He disrespected me personally on multiple occasions outside of class and would purposely ignore me to the point other students would notice. He told me I would most likely fail in the medical community after 2 weeks of class
Dr. Nodzak's class is far from easy, but taking the class will provide a good foundation for your future classes and career field. His lectures may seem intimidating, but he is very thorough. Don't skip class, do all of the homework, read the book, and -- if all else fails -- ask questions if you're confused. He appreciates students who try.
Not only is Anatomy a hard subject in general, but Nodzak makes the class a million times harder than it needs to be. He is also VERY disrespectful to his student, constantly calling them unintelligent and belittling them. One of the worst experiences of my life.
This class was impossible and Dr. Nodzak made it 10x harder. He was also rude and condescending to his students. My friend had Professor Canterbury and loved him so I wish I waited and took him instead.
Dr. Nodzak is very devoted to having you learn, so much so he takes the time to memorize every students' name in a class of 300 with 2-3 other classes he does that with. If you want to succeed, go to open lab (the lab is a portion of the overall grade), go to the tutoring sessions that he will do. Finally, go and participate in class and ask q's.
