extremely interesting and straight forward course. the classroom is hard to stay awake in (dimmed lights, soothing voice, cushy reclined seats) but the teacher lectures very clearly and reviews everything before the test.

he understands that most people are taking his class just to fulfill GE, so he makes it pretty easy to pass. he really knows his stuff too.

So respectful and curtious. He knows his stuff. No homework or quizzes. Just tests and a few extra credits. Take notes and read your book. Easy class but hard to stay awake. (Feels just like the movies)

Mr Oles is very easy and very clear. He knows his stuff. He is very helpful and also offers extra credit, but you shouldn't need it. He gives study notes AND answers before all exams.

Good class lots of well prepared lectures. The notes are on-line so you can focus on the visual presentations each lecture. Tests are too easy but he wants to hook peeps on science, worked on me! Didn't take the lab but would like to.

Extremely excited about the topic and enthusiastic. It is an easy A if you care enough to try. He makes it interesting but sometimes it is just hard not to be bored. I would take it again is I had the chance.

This guy is an easy A and a very easy science class. Showing up for lecture plus studying his lecture notes/study questions meticulously is all you need to get an A. No need to buy the book. He offers lots of extra credit and generously curves the class so the middle student gets a B (80).

Mr. Oles is great, loves what he teaches. if you show up and do the studying necessary, you'll get an A.

Such a nice guy. I went to the labs and finished like 3 weeks early and never went to class and still managed to scrape out an A on my tests. Notes are on the website and he posted the final at the beginning of the quarter. Easy if you are a good at home study person and dont like going to class!

Great guy, it's fun going to class and watching him do things like walk around the center of the room to demonstrate synchronous rotation. He really made me want to take an interest in the subject. Easy class. I think he needs to be tougher on people that are being morons in class though...

If you want to get an A, this is the class you want to tAke. Think about it. He gives you the questions to the final and drops the lowest test score of the 3. There are also EC opportunities. What better can you ask for? Take him whether you like Astronomy or not.

Prof. Oles is the nicest man! He is very passionate about what he teaches and it rubs off onto the students. I couldn't care less about meteorology, but it truly was the most interesting class I took this quarter because it's easy and you aren't stressed about a grade. It makes learning enjoyable.

i first dreaded the thought of coming to class.. it was so boring all u did was take notes. but yeah follow the advice of printing out the practice tests they are the same but he just mixes the questions. i thought this guy was funny though, like he wouldnt try but i would bust up

Nice and excellent professor. He reviews the exact questions before each exam. He lets you drop one exam (out of 3). The final exam is cummulative (but easy). His website is extremely useful. One of the most awesome teachers I've ever had. Good sense of humor and friendly. Strongly recommend.

although the class was boring, the prof orles is really nice and he loves what he's teaching. all his lectures are online and he has study guides as well. classes consist of 1 hour lecture and 1 hour video. definantly a class you don't have to worry about and still get an A in.

Prof. Oles is sooooo cool. The class isn't that boring if you're willing to learn interesting facts about the solar system. His class is SUPER easy, print lecture notes and study questions offline and you'll get an A without barely trying.

EVERYONE CHEATS in this class (shame on them), but if you just study from his test review sheets, you'll ACE all exams. His class was very interesting, and everyone leaves for his video clips, but they're very intriguing...so watch!He's easy, nice, and knowledgeable in the subject. I recommend him.

hes a good teacher. the class is boring. you don't really need to buy the book or go to class. but you can get some extra credit if you stay the entire class. read the flash notes online. and do the review questions. its actually very helpful. and its basically all you need to know for the tests.

Really really nice guy that is passionate about his work. The only problem was that I felt that MET 10 desperately needed labs and MET 50 needed a lot more lab work. I only recommend taking the class if you are interested in it, but if you are, it's definitely worth it.

Both Classes were great. Astronomy he handed out notes, so you new what to study & you could sleep in the class. Met10 was very interesting. Almost the same layout as Astronomy. Ole's is the best!!

I think he makes his class intentionally crazy easy. He seems like a smart and really intelligent guy, he just doesn't mind handing out A's to those who listen or at least try in the class. Print notes, put them in a binder, read them before the exam. All you need to ace.

gosh why does everyone think the meteorology tests are so easy, they are not! It's not an EASY A, but it's possible, you do have to put some effort and don't procrastinate on studying!

This is an easy class and tests are not that hard if you come to class (most don't) and use the study guides on his web site. He basically tells you ALL you need to know, but you still have to study for the tests. Multiple choice and T/F, but some may be tricky.

I don't what class some of you were in but this class was so easy...and I'm not a hard studier either! He gives you the answers to the study guide(the test basically)the day before the test. Those were the only days I went to class and I got an A. I barely studyied. The "study guide" final is also exactly the same as the one he gives!

Take this class.

Ole's is the best! Superb instructor, very fair, helpful and passionate about his subject. Best 2 of 3 mid-terms plus a final. The questions on the final are mostly taken from the 3 midterms. I would love to be a teacher with his style. Easy A but expect to put in a little effort. He does this very interesting subject justice. Thanks Mr Oles - :-)

ditched every class except for test reviews after signing in and still got the A. it's cause ALL his lecture notes and everything else are uploaded online so i had to study since i wasn't there. reviews are helpful and if you study it's a pretty easy A. no hw, and the extra credit was an essay about ANY movie relating to astro.

I had Oles for both... he's one of the easiest and funniest professors at De Anza. Too bad he doesn't teach any other classes, else I'd certainly take them.

His class is advertised as not being hard. Just use some basic thinking and there's an A. I would think ESL students may have some difficulty because the test has some trick wording. I actually learned a lot about the weather now. Too bad I spent 70 dollars on the book because I didn't need it much.

Lab is an easy A. Lecture is an easy A. He has a good sense of humor.

hes sucha sweet man. hes compassionate about his teaching. although, i went to class about 10 times outta 12 weeks. i still got an A though because all his notes are online. this man is so easy. so go for it!

Funny little teacher, if you have any intrest in astronomy, it shoulndt be hard. Only people i saw fail were those who didnt come. Apparently the Planetarium is closing for renovations. if you expect to chill there for class he said its not gonna be for long. Can ace class just on lectures.

Mr. Olejniczak is truly one of the better teachers at De Anza. He makes the material easy to understand and on his website, he supplies his students with chapter study guides and example tests from previous years. I really feel that I've learned valuable information from his class that I can apply to everyday life.

I don't think I stayed for an entire class and I still got a B. It's a super easy class As long as u review the notes he leaves for u online, follow along in the book on ur own & do the EC, u only need 2go2 class 2 sign in & listen to any announcements & just show up for the tests. Oles is pretty cool 2 so it's not torture if u want 2 stay & listen

He's fairly easy! As long as you pay attention in class and study the notes which he's has already uploaded online, you'll be fine! His lesson is interesting as well! Easy A!!!!!

Be prepared to be bored off your ass! The seats in their are reclined and made to make you fall asleep! Don't buy the book! All his tests are based more on the lectures. You don't even have to stay for the entire lecture! Just walk in, check your name off the list, and leave! But read his powerpoints and lecture notes he posts online.

Prof. "Oles" as is very interesting and very helpful. Students often rave more about Ast 10. Either way, you'll enjoy this class if you love planets and stars. Also, he gives extra credit so if you want to put in the effort you can make 100% mark (I did). If you are not great in math, consider Ast04 which focuses on our solar system over #'s.

Oles is the best. No surprises on the midterms, he has study guides and reviews everything thouroughly. He's got an interesting sense of humor and really connects well with his students. Also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan!!!

Oles is a very good instructor. I will recomend him for anyone taking Meterology. If you take good review notes and study the review notes you'll do great on his 4 tests. Make sure to keep the copy of the test because he will take those ?'s and use them on the final. He made the class very interesting & is very organized with his Power Points.

Awesome class! Print out his notes and study questions to bring to class, because he fills in the gaps during lecture. There are only 4 tests of equal weight to base your grade on, so if you put the effort in to study right before the exam and attend the reviews, there's no way you can walk out without an A. Do the E/C! He made it really enjoyable!

Super nice guy! I really liked this class. His passion for the subject made metereology interesting and fun. He genuinely cares about his students and wants you to pass (curves grades, gives final questions in advance, lots of extra credit, etc). No homework, just tests (lowest is dropped). Easy A, but you still need to study!

Wow, this guy is boring. He is a really nice, little man but really really into astronomy. He thinks everyone else is also. He tends to repeat himself a lot. You only have to go to class once in a while. He puts all his lecture notes on his website and gives you practice tests before the 3 exams. He even gives you a copy of the final! Easy A!

Extremely easy to get an A. Study the practice exams and study questions he post on his websites. Very similar, if not the same to the actual exam. The book is a helpful reference but not neccessary. So don't buy it. No one really comes to class unless there's an exam, but you are required to sign in. 4 mutiple choice exams, drops lowest one.

He is pretty easy. There are no assignments, only tests. There are past exams on his website too and many of the questions are similar to the ones you will see in class. Take him.

I didnt take his lecture, just the lab, but it was so incredibly easy! I hardly did any work, I just raised my hand for every lab question and he gave me the answer. I hate that I'm sounding like a leech but its true. He is really flexible, if you dont finish the last few labs by the end of the qtr and you have good attendance, he'll let it slide

A WONDERFUL CLASS! learned so much about everything out there, he is so enthusiastic about what he teaches and has very well put-together powerpoints (which are also available online). further my love of astronomy. please take this class in the beautiful new planetarium!

This class is pretty easy. No hw. 3 exams and a final drops the lowest exam. i pretty much just signed in for attendance and then left. he has all his powerpoints and notes online. don't even buy the book! he has practice exams online which are pretty much the actual exams just scrambled! very easy A.

Easiest class I've ever taken. Had no idea college could be this easy. You have to show up to class, but he actually gives you permission to sleep. All information is posted online for the tests. Offers extra credit. I slept through this ENTIRE quarter, would study for two hours the night before the test, and passed with flying colors.

Very easy class, but interesting. His lectures were not boring and there were lots of videos, many of which were about global warming. He drops the lowest of three midterms and provides thorough review and preparation for all tests, especially the final. Lots of extra credit opportunities if needed. Book is optional, most didn't need it at all.

For the non science majors it will take time to adjust to the class. But overall it is one of the easiest science classes you could take to fulfill your ge. Teacher did threaten to cancel our whole class this quarter because some idiot was using a laser pointer on the planetarium show

You should prepare a little bit for the exams. It is easy to get B+ or A- but A. Extra credit recommended to make sure you will get A before the final. The final is exactly the same as the practice one. You will be fine in this class. The teacher is nice. Love him.

Good teacher and easy going. Don't talk in the planetarium too loud. Whisper at most. Seriously, don't take his niceness for granted please. Just make sure to READ and KNOW the notes before the exam. Prof Oles is such a great teacher. He was really into the class content and made it interesting even when we were talking about... air. Runs out of patience with rude students who talk in class - he even threw things at some kids. Tests are pretty easy and was a very fair class. I took a lot out of this class I still remember more than a year later

If you can't pass his class, then you shouldn't be in college. He is so, so, easy that as long as you do the study guides (which he does for you) so you just have to review it before the test, you should pass the class. You don't even need the book, or you don't have to show up and you will pass this class.you take 4 test, he drops your lowest one

Oh my GOd, the easiest professor you could find for astro 10! no hw, 4 exams of which he drops the lowest score! goes over the study guide questions before the exam day and oh yes, shows those interesting videos! the digital system is amazing! you can go to sleep, he won't care! although attendance is not mandatory, the subject is quite interesting

This teacher is overall very easy. You don't really need to class just print out the lectures online and study them and you will be ok. The final is very easy, you can't fail it, he basically gives you the answers just study them. He also gives alot of extra credit. Highly recomended

This class is actually pretty interesting, I feel bad that over half the class doesn't show up. He makes it too easy to do well; lectures and practice tests are posted online. It's sad that people still need to cheat so much during tests. He knows he's easy; just don't disrespect him by talking or cheating.

He is a nice teacher, but his lectures are really boring and will make you fall asleep since it's early in the morning. The tests are easy since it's the same as the practice test he posts online except he just rearranges them. It sounds easy, but don't slack off because you might end up getting a grade lower than an A because you were lazy.

I took him for Meteorology and lab. He's the easiest teacher EVER! He's really nice. Show up on the day before the test with study guide and you'll get the answers to the test. He posts the previous qtr tests on his website too. Study that and you'll ace it. HIGHLY recommend him for a GPA boost.

Really easy class. Everyone says it's an easy A...that is true only if you give 1 hour of studying before the tests. His practice tests are 98% the same as the real tests. Study those and you'll get an A. Really interesting class as well and he is very passionate about the subject.

He is so nice and laidback. Although he gives you a practice test, you have to work hard. I thought the first test would be easy, but it was not that easy and same as the practice test. And you don't have to come to class every day because he doesn't care.

I loved this class. The difficulty depends on your learning style. It's all lecture. So, you either pay attention, read the book, or fail. His internet site is extremely helpful. Very easy class. There is no homework. All you have to do to get an A is do the practice tests he puts on his website (make sure you get the right answers) and when you take the real tests, the questions will be exactly the same. The room is dark and you basically lie in beds so falling asleep is hard to avoid.

He is a excellent professor. He gives extra credit assignment and uploads a practice test that is 95% similar to the real test!. Its a nice class, nice room too. Take this class to boost your GPA and satisfy your GE Science area

Many students have pass papers. Even if you don't have the pass paper, what he puts up online is 90% same as the real test. If you have any question on practice questions, go ahead and ask him. then he will tell you the answer. he knows the general astronomy but no further than that. I aced all the tests just by doing the practice questions.

I really like the class, sitting at the planetarium is so fun and confortable. The materials are simple, you will learn everything if you pay attention in class, otherwise do all the readings. One thing I dislike the class is that there are too many cheaters! They stare at your paper during the tests and I am regret I didn't turn them in!

Very passionate teacher. Compfy seats in planetarium and loved the imax reduced movies and when he shoes the night sky. However lectures tend to make people fall asleep and great deal of no showers. But very easy class. Honestly, just study the practice exams and you got yourself an easy A (: And he also gives out extra credit assignments in case.

Took him for Met 10 and loved it. Class was very laid-back and slower-paced, which made class that much more enjoyable and interesting. Attendance not necessary. Study the multiple choice practice exams online and you're guaranteed an A in the course.

Weather is a hard subject,you still have to study if you don't have pass paper.If u hv them, you dont even hv to go class.Not very fun in the lab tho, he just rush through everything.So pay attention and copy the answers that come out from his mouth.The lab manual is super expensive, don't buy it,share with a friend or just look at the projector.

Prof. Oles is a nice teacher. All the slides from his lectures are posted online. Exam questions are also online so you just need to do the work on finding the answers. I'm not sure if I like my teacher to be this easy but I can't complain since I received an A in his class. if you managed to fail his class, you clearly deserved it.

He is the easiest professor ever. I barley ever attended class and I aced all his midterms. He uses the same midterms from previous quarters. His final is exactly the same as the study guide he gives you.

Possibly the easiest class at De Anza. Professor Oles makes the class super easy for you: practice exams are 99% the same as the exams he administers, lecture notes/slides are online, easy extra credit, and attendance is not mandatory. If you can't pass this class, then maybe you shouldn't be in college.

One of the easiest teachers at De Anza. Grading is made up of only three exams and the final. Exams are made up of questions off practice tests. He throws away your lowest exam score, and gives up to 5% extra credit on your overall grade. Lectures are typically one-sided and boring, but he's okay with sleepers!

Paul knows a lot and seems to genuinely like teaching.He also does his best to help students who struggle. He grades on a curve, practically gives out the answers to the test, assigns fun extra credit projects, and gives the questions he will use for the final. If you cannot get a good grade in his class you are wasting your time going to college.

Easy teacher I didnt buy the text book but still got an A. Attendance is not mandatory and the seats in here are comfortable to the max

Honestly, you don't need to do anything to pass this class. Don't attend, don't study the book or notes. All you have to do is get his practice exam from his online website and memorize it the night before and you'll receive an A. They are identical to the exams. But he's a great teacher and I do recommend listening because it's very interesting!

He is an excellent professor. If you read the book and come to class it is easy.

Took his morning class. He is a wonderful professor...it's just too bad the class is so early that most of the students are either half dead throughout his presentation. Used powerpoints, no homework. Drops the lowest test score. Don't need to come to class to do well but you should try because the subject is pretty interesting.

He is very helpful and kind and very nice. I was very happy with him during the quarter.

Mr. Olejniczak was a pretty good astronomy teacher. You can definitely tell he has a passion for the subject. He puts all of his notes in powerpoints and uploads them to his website. The tests are based heavily off of the notes, and he even uploads practice tests and study guides to his website! He wants u to do well. Opportunity for 5% xtra credit

I never learned so much from a professor before. He really keeps things straight forward as well as preps you for exams/the final. Understanding the material isn't a problem as long as you're interested!

Mr. Oles is a very cool professor. Most of the people in our class just slept, but when he uses the sky viewer and some videos everyone just seems to pay attention because it is pretty cool. He drops the lowest score among 4 tests and he provides extra credits. You need to do the practice tests online which are VERY SIMILAR to the actual test.

Do the practice test and you will get an A

This has been my favorite class this quarter! I have developed a new love for astronomy because of Mr. Oles! He's super chill and he makes the class really interesting. No hw and his tests are like everyone said, REALLY similar to the practice ones he posts online. Highly recommend it! :)

Professor Paul is one of my favorite teachers at De Anza College. I am an ESL student, and I totally understood his style of teaching. He uses powerpoint during class to make sure concepts are easily understood. Going to his class was a joy. This class will broaden your knowledge. His reviews before tests are useful. I got an A! Take him!

He's super nice and approachable. All of the tests are multiple choice. For the last 2 tests and final, he even put up a scrambled up version of the test on his website so all you had to do was memorize the correct answers. It's a very easy A. :) Only bad part is that his lectures are a bit boring, and it's easy to fall asleep.

His class is extremely relaxing and not a bit stressful. He does his best to make it interesting for us 7:30 am. 3 midterms, multiple choice. Do the practice test and he'll check the answers for you if you ask him. He reviews study guide beforehand so as long as you attend and do the study guides, you'll do well on the test.

Awesome and relaxing class in the planetarium. Lectures are not difficult to follow, study guides are available and he drops the lowest exam of 4. Super easy class for a Transfer/GE requirement!

Ive taken him for met 10 and its basically the same. His powerpoints were on his website but some slides were missing. He drops your lowest test of the 3 plus a final. For my class, he gave us the option of taking final on the last class meeting or the original final date. only thing i didnt like is that it was kinda difficult takin notes

His class is pretty interesting and it is easy if you pay attention. He drops the lowest grade of the 3 exams (not including the final). He has all of his notes and practice exams on his website for you to go over. The questions on the practice exams are identical on what you get so if you memorize them, then you're good. Highly recommended!

Mr. Oles makes it very clear that he wants to help you succeed, he even posts lots of practice exams and powerpoint slide notes online. He has many extra credit opportunities, his class was interesting, overall a great teacher and great experience for those who are really interested in learning Astronomy :) Oh, tests are super easy too!

Super easy class. He posts a practice exam online, study that as much as possible, sometimes his tests are identical. If you have a friend who saved their practice tests from a different Quarter look at those. Attendance not mandatory, just have to sign in. Drops lowest test grade(notfinal) overall, REALLY easy class and he's a cool teacher too.

i fell asleep often in this class just because of that chair, not the lecture. so this class was quite easy as long as u do those practices he gives u. a lot of optional extra credits but i didnt do any of them then got a A. the videos and those space programs were my favorites, really interesting and excited to watch. however, just go and take it

Loved this professor. He makes everything very easy and understands people are taking this class to satisfy requirements. He is very passionate about the class, and cares for the students. The practice tests are usually the EXACT SAME as the real ones, sometimes slightly different(Final was 100% the same but different order, was done in 10 minutes)

Every single day I mess around on my phone/contemplate my navel in this class and he does not care. Just as long as you don't miss more than 3 consecutive days, he won't care (you sign in). USE THE STUDY GUIDES. I got a near perfect score on the last test with it and didn't listen to a word. I don't recommend doing this for other classes.

Professor Oles brings a wealth of knowledge from his experience as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. He gives you every opportunity to succeed: Lecture notes, study guides, and practice exams are posted online at his own personal website. He also gives easy extra credit assignments that can boost your grade up to 5%. Awesome teacher

Great professor who truly wants every student to succeed. He puts all exam notes online as well as copies of previous exams to help you prepare. Class consists of 3 exams (drops lowest) and a final. Oles is super fun, attendance is not mandatory, but his class is interesting that going is easy. He leaves all the notes online so you can reference them, he offers extra credit, and plays really good movies.

Everyday is a lecture and then a relevant video. You don't really have to go to class because everything is online. But we do sign in every day. Also, theres a practice test online that is literally the test but go to him and have him correct it first before you study it for the test. Also do extra credit options! I got 5% extra credit. very easy!

Paul is a lecturer- no one really speaks or is prompted to speak and he talks for the whole 2 hours. Attendence is optional, just make sure to sign in on the roster before leaving to get credit. 4 tests and he drops the lowest score (or the one you're absent for). Gives super easy extra credit, and his tests are based off of reviews on his website.

Olejniczak is such a cute old man! He is one easy professor, and the labs every week are very clear cut and simple. You DO have to attend class though because grading is based on in class labs. Easy lab to meet science requirement.

This class was very easy, and he's so nice that towards the end of the quarter, half of the students didn't even show up to class. Take him for an easy A. Honestly, the material isn't easy but the test is.

Professor Olejniczak is surely one of the nicest professor!! It was always interesting to watch the videos from the special program in the planetarium! Pls dont skip his class often. He's putting a lot of efforts and showing his passion on the subject. Students should show more respect to this kind of awesome and hardworking professor.

The lab is totally an easy A; go for it. The tests for his lecture classes, on the other hand, can be hard, especially if you expect an easy A. He gives out an immense amount of extra credit, but I was worried until the end of the quarter because I bombed his first two tests. Take him, but don't expect to be spoon fed an A in that class. Study.

Taking him this fall. He explains material so well. Very concise and gives excellent examples to help you understand the topic. His tests are multiple choice and true/false which is my favorite format. I absolutely love that his passion for astronomy shows in his teaching. He's approachable and very kind. I really recommend him. Take him!!

Oles is a phenomenal teacher. He deeply cares for Meteorology and Astrology, and works well with his students to ensure a positive outcome. His tests can be difficult if you don't study, but his tests closer to the end of the quarter get progressively easier. Definitely do the practice tests and read the reviews he has in class. Great professor!

He is a wonderful teacher and he is really passionate about astronomy. His tests are easy, he gives practice tests before every test and questions are quite similar to the practice tests. I feel bad for him, he would always sit there and watch the videos with the students while half the class left early. Students are disruptive and disrespectful.

Prof. O was a phenomenal lecturer that really put time into his presentations. I took his class in winter 2016 and it was an easy A to say the least. The class is in high demand, and many students will show up throughout the first week ready to take your spot. However, rest of the quarter will be light on attendance and consist of 3 test w/ 1 drop

Such an easy lab class. He gives out lab packets, all multiple choice, and he goes through each question with the class. He almost always says the answer outloud too. No need to buy anything. Super nice and knowledgeable guy. No midterm or final. If you dont pay attention for a question, you can easily get the answer from your classmates, just ask!

I strongly recommend this class because his practice tests have the answers provided for you! Then you can study them for the real tests. It's very helpful when you have trouble reading the textbook and the textbook is online so it's free. The professor speaks clearly so you can hear him from anywhere you sit.

Would definitely recommend taking an Astronomy class with this professor again. His classes were mainly just lectures and the powerpoints he uses in class can be accessed on his class website so attending class isn't too detrimental to your grade. He also links practice tests that are basically the exact same as the tests your grade is based upon.

He is very sweet! He puts a lot of time into his lectures and its sad that people just leave when he plays the videos. Half the class just signs in and leaves which makes me feel bad for him because he is so passionate about what he does. Very approachable and helpful. Not a hard class at all. Highly recommend and respect this professor!

Grade is based on three tests (w 1 drop) and a final. All three tests are on his website (with answers) so if you just memorize that you'll be good to go. Attendance isn't mandatory. Most people sign in and leave, which makes me feel bad for him but you can barely hear him half the time. He is a cute little old man tho and i would take him again;)

This guy was a great professor. Take him if you're trying to get a science requirement out of the way. I had a lot of great professors before him, but this one tops it. Take it if you need to lighten your work for this quarter.

Great class to fulfill the physical science requirements, very easy and makes great use of De Anza's planetarium. Classes are very large, but it's not much trouble to find a seat. Never got much time to make a connection with the professor, but very nice fellow and passionate lecturer. Gotta take in person, the videos are half the fun!
