I think he is probably one of the better english teachers at the school. Not many teachers give you the option to rewrite your essays so that you can get a better mark. He is an all around fair guy to those who treat him fairly.

He's really not as bad as everyone is making him out to be. Yes, he likes sex, but he inundates class with information about all assigned readings. Pay attention, and organize your essays coherently (don't babble) and you'll do fine! Always do an OUTLINE!

English 1110 is useless, basically. Worse than English 10, but it's not really Paul's fault. Makes class interesting, is easy and open and can relate to his students well. Fair marker and he gives you lots of chances and practice. Good, engaging prof.

Pretty boring. Gives/changes your mark depending on his mood....actually changed it in front of me one time. Not too hard though; got a B and I suck at english.

Paul is extremely interesting and funny. Hardly anyone ever skipped his class. He basically gives you a thesis and supporting points for essays, and I found it easy to get a good grade.

He is an instructor who forgives students. In other word, he allows students to rewrite their assignments, so students can get a better mark. His lessons are clear and easy to understand. Nice teacher.

I can't remember if it was 1205 or 1206. Anyways he is funny, but he tends to ramble in class instead of actually teaching. Once pretended to be insane to get out of military duty in Poland. The class is easy if you actually speak english.

I like his idea of spending SOME time talking to students individually. Not all the time. Not all students have the same ability in English. Individual talk about the student's English is a good method to improve and learn about our weaknesses.

I don't know what you people are talking about, but he's super easy - considering of course, that you have a basic knowledge of the Engl grammar & essay writing (obviously not for some of you cuz look at your spelling mistakes). Poetry unit was hilarious!

mr. ostrowski was the best teacher at kwantlen when i was a student there. he made his class interesting and fun, and kept everyone in the class listening because he used the topic of sex alot. I highly recommend his class! You won't be disapointed!

Paul's great, really smart. He's a bit picky about word usage, but that's good sense if you're going further into English. He's engaging, tells good stories and is pretty funny. Not for everyone, but take his class at least once because you'll learn a lot.

Fairly light workload in his class and no participation marks. He is a good guy and will give you help when you ask him. Paul is just a very nice guy and will always help you out with your work. Hes super lenient so if you hand essays in alittle late he wont mind. If u want a good mark in english TAKE HIS COURSE. It would be a challenge to do poor in his class.

Paul is a great teacher, even though he admits that eng is boring, he's humerous and makes it fun. I agree with the sexiness... the way he carries himself, and his accent, and his humour... his wife is a lucky lady.

I don't know what any of these people are talking about. Paul is a great teacher. He is very lenient with his marks and his door is always open for students who need more help. He is very, very flexible with due dates. I missed a couple of classes and he allowed me to make up the essay I had missed. He really cares about his students

He is very fair and gives you a lot of insight and explanation on readings that will be the topic of your essays. You are given a lot to go on! All you need is good english skills and you'll do well (which is what any eng teacher will require from you, so that's no surpise). Discussions are interesting. He likes to show movies in class as well!

paul is an awesome teacher! he is very nice and clear on what he expects from his students, you basically get no homework in this class, maybe a few readings here and there but thats all. 3 papers, a summary and final. 2 of the papers are take home, one is in class. final + summary are in class. reasonable marker, recommended!

Hands down best english prof ever! He is soooo good in expaining things. our class consisted of 4 essays all 25% each. 3 of them were take home and the final was in class but he let us bring notes and told us the questions. He lets u rewrite the first essay i got C and he gave me A after. He's so good and if he sees your trying hard he'll give mark

great english prof! discusses topics for essays prior so you have lots of ideas. told us topics for exam prior and lets u bring prepared notes in. let us chose passage to write about for othello (out of 4) funny guy, sometimes swears in class which makes him more personable. lets you rewrite 1st essay if u want. makes 3hr class go by so fast!

Hard instructor even though English is not my second language. He likes to watch videos in class and write comparative essays on them. He is a great teacher but a hard marker.

This guy is an amazing teacher. Once he sees that you are really trying he doesn't hesitate to give you a better mark just for effort. He likes it when his class is interactive so don't just sit there like a potato and try to engage in the interesting discussions. He's a tough marker but he always tells you exactly what he wants you to do.

Even though I hated the idea of taking this course, Paul made me change my opinion on University English. He is engaging, hilarious, and inspired me to become a better writer. Although he is a tough marker, if you follow his criteria (he tells you exactly what he wants for each assignment) then you will be fine! Definitely recommend him!!

Paul makes the class fun and is very interactive and enthusiastic. Don't buy the textbook, it's not necessary. He's very clear and descriptive of his expectations for assignments and tests. He talks a lot, but it's bearable because he's hilarious. Make sure you use his constructive criticism because it'll help you get a better grade!

Paul is a pretty chill instructor. He provides a clear grading criteria so you would know what he expects from you plus there is no final exam. At times he can also be quite humorous and entertaining in class as well. Overall I'd say Paul is definitely one of the best English instructors in KPU.

His classes are feel pretty great to be in. Chill guy who likes to joke, and his lectures aren't dry. He gives a lot of examples of what he looks for in writing, ranging from professional pieces, down to essays and stuff his previous students have allowed him to share. As for marking, he's pretty lax about it too. Would take him again.

The course consists of 4 assignments and one of the assignments is a in class essay. He gives clear instructions during in class lectures on what he expects from you regarding essays. His lectures include personal anecdotes and current events that makes lectures appealing.

Paul is hilarious. The class is pretty easy, there is 2 take home essays, 1 in class essay and a summary. He gives you multiple topics to choose from to write, which makes it easier to do the assignment. He also breaks down every paper to how you should write it - and do it this way to get an A. He is a harder marker, but fair.

Paul is probably the most nicest and chills prof I have met so far. He basically tells you what to write for your essays and gives easy participation marks. Also, he makes sure to make his class fun and engaging, I would definitely recommend him for English.

Awesome prof! Gives lots of feedback and support. Lots of essay writing but gives you opportunities by editing the draft which wasn't mandatory. Straight forward with what has to be done and what he is looking for.

I had a BLAST in his class. Paul makes the lectures super engaging and interesting. He's hilarious, and sometimes goes off topic, but somehow that's the best part of the class. For assignments and exams, he provides many examples, and helps with topics and structure of your essay so you're aware of his expectations. Would 100% take his class again!

He is a great teacher, says some pretty funny things. He gives good insight and feedback you your writing. He givesample time and many topics to choose from for the essays. Gives extremely clear directions, follow them and double check you followed them before you submit. He doesn't usually expect perfection for formatting like APA

Loved this guy. His english courses were very essay heavy (and I've never been good at essays,) but his grading criteria and expectations are so clear and straightforward that its very easy to get good grades. He posts weekly on moodle, so missing a class wont hurt your grades, but I don't recommend doing it often. Take him if you can! He's amazing

He is such an amazing professor. Usually a lot of English profs are really tough graders but he is very fair. I loved his class would definitely take it again. If you put in work and follow his instructions you will do really well in the course!

Best english prof, he marks very easy and his lectures are always funny and never boring. He provides sample essays which helps get an idea of what he expects. Gives plenty of opportunities to get extra credit.

Great Prof!! His class consisted of three essay's, weekly forums along with one final exam. He allows the opportunity to redo essay's and provides clear criteria on what is expected. He is a fairy easy marker. If you are someone like me, and struggle in English, he is your best shot to do well in this course. Take him and you will not regret it.

Best prof taken so far

Straightforward and pretty easygoing prof. There's no required textbook and he'll upload whatever course material you need throughout the semester. His syllabus is mostly made up of essays but they're a breeze if you pay attention to his feedback. He also lets you redo the worst one to bump up your grade at the end of the semester.

This was a great English class. The professor is straight forward in his grading and makes it really clear how to do well in the class. There is three essays and then a final exam as well as short responses on Moodle. As long as you're present in his class and pay attention you shouldn't have a problem doing well.

Paul is amazing and I wish I could take his class again. If you are someone that is respectful and shows an appreciation/intrigue for his class - you will do just fine. He truly cares about his students and often gives out bonus marks for online forums and even during class time. He is knowledgeable, kind, funny, thoughtful and easy going!

The best prof in this school. Like actually — guys, take him 100%, especially if you're taking the class online. The sweetest, most caring, understanding, and lovely professor ever. If I time-traveled back in time, I would still take this class with him.
