Ruteledge is very blunt in telling you what he wants but in the long run it helps out. He has no attendance policy, but if you don't plan on showing up drop the class or you will get really behind. Overall cool guy, very funny.

Dr. Rutledge is a hard teacher. He really challenges you, but he also is willing to help when you need it and provides excellent feedback. He can be a bit blunt sometimes, but his honesty is constructive. Overall he is a really cool guy and even though the class is not easy, I would take him again.

Makes promises and then does not keep them.

Awesome professor! He has a very dry, quirky sense of humor. If you come to class and take notes, then you shouldn't have a problem. Don't be late and don't try to text in class. He will kick you out. So, to make an A, all you really have to do is show up, listen, be respectful, and take the quizzes.

Rutledge is awesome. If your class studies, participates it will be worth it in the end. The online quizzes are simple and if anything goes wrong he is very fair. He is blunt and honest and has great character. As long as you engage and take notes the class really is not that difficult. I don't like politics at all and I made a B. I recommend him.

Sarcastic, witty, and knowledgeable. Prof. Rutledge expects a lot from his students, but he is beyond helpful. He tells you everything you need to know for the exams, and even has review days the class meeting before the scheduled exam. His quizzes are extremely easy and his exams are fair. If you go to class and take notes, you should make an A.

He is very blunt, however I like that about him. He helps you when you need it. In order to make an A, you just need to go to class, take notes and study! I would take his class again!

Did not like any history beforehand. He is precise as to what he wants. Lecture notes are key!! Didn't use book (but once to help the 1 in-class essay-no need to buy the books, though!). Stay during the WHOLE study days (gives bonus, bonus questions). Questions on test are straightforward. Take him!!! I mean, I managed a freaking "A" (96-ish)!

This Professor is fantastic. Engaging, electric, intelligent, and willing to listen. I hope to have at least a few more classes with him so that I can ensure to learn whatever possible from such a fantastic educator! HIGHLY recommended.

This is my favorite professor so far. He is witty and very knowledgeable. He made the class interesting and fun. I would recommend him in a heart-beat!

He is fair, respectful, and welcomes debate and discussion. There are only two ways to make him mad-text in class and skip class. Your whole grade is based on tests and tests are based on lectures.Go to class!

Very funny! Actually looked forward to going to this class. Advice: SHOW UP. He often gives extra credit for being there on certain days when alot of students dont show up. Showing up is a matter of respect to him; but it is not a class to dread. Definitely recommend him!

Perhaps the only complaint I could muster towards Mr. Rutledge is that occasionally on his tests, some of the answers could go both ways. Other than that, his class was fantastic and he is an astounding professor. He is very open, very precise and is easily accessible. He made me care and understand how our government works. He's great.

By far the best prof. at uwg, he truly is amazing. he gives you all the material you need to pass, its up to you to utilize that info. 3/4 test and an accumulative final w/ 150 question . show up for class and you'll make an easy A

He is truly amazing ! The book isnt necessary and he'll tell you that at the beginning of the semester. You have to pay attention he has a low tolerance for idiots so don't act dumb ! He's fun but serious and dedicated to his job !

GREAT TEACHER by far the best I have had at UWG thus far. Come to class, take notes and you will do fine. Do on really need the text book because all tests come straight from lectures. Tells you exactly what you should study for each test. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take this professor!!! He's a friendly, funny guy and all he really cares about is if you get an A. On his review days he literally gives you test answers verbatim. The textbook is not necessary, however it is helpful when studying. Just go to class every now and then and you'll be fine. He tells you exactly what to study. Easy A

EASY CLASS. GREAT GUY. GREAT PROFESSOR. Knows what he is talking about. So real and even talks some about his personal life. Always ask if you have questions or want to say something. Will sometimes give extra credit. Attendance is not required. My favorite professor this semester. Cares a lot about his students and them passing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Seriously take this class. He generally cares about your grade. DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE. Seriously. He will kick you out. Attend his review sessions, you will pass.

HE is a great teacher!! If you attend class and read over your notes you will do really well in his class.

Professor Rutledge has been a huge relief to me as a freshman. He's a hoot! He truly cares about his students and makes learning about politics fun and interesting. I would highly reccomend taking his course. I myself would take his class if it were offered to me in the future!

Although is class isn't mandatory i.e. he doesn't take attendance it would be stupid for you to now attend because how else would you learn the material. Also some days he gives opportunities for you to earn extra credit points. Beside iServe it is impossible for you to fail the class if you come because he greatly prepares you for each exam.

He is a great teacher and mostly laid back. Its a very easy class and you only have 3 tests and a Final, but he gives you some of the answers to the questions that are on the test. Highly recommended!

Good Teacher

He is a great teacher! His lectures are to the point, he has a good sense of humor, and he doesn't force a political view on you. He takes time to answer questions and gives you TONS of chances for extra credit. Take his class!! His tests require studying, but always come from the lecture notes. Also, you don't have to do any homework!

Rutledge is a great teacher! I hate american government but the way he instructs the class makes in interesting and enjoyable. Tests questions come straight from lectures so make sure you go to class and take good notes!

Before enrolling into this class, I hated politics... to this day I still hate politics, but Rutledge made it a lot easier for me to understand! His test aren't hard, he really chill and laid back, and funny.. I highly recommend him!

HE was SOOOO helpful. Lectures are given every class but if you someing and need to ask questions he is very willing to help! Take good notes, the book is good to refer back to if you need a little extra help. But overall he is funny, easy going, and passionte about politcal science. I would totally take another one of his classes!!!!

Professor Rutledge is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He is very willing to help students at any time and also a funny guy. As long as you study the given material you are almost guaranteed to receive a good grade. I would strongly encourage anyone to take him!

He gives a lot of the answers for tests and a lot of extra credit. But don't come to class if your gonna sleep, text, or talk. He don't tolerate that.

Great professor. Class is complied of 3 tests plus a final. Professor Rutledge gives ample opportunity to succeed on these exams. His review sessions allow you to ask questions over the material & he usually provides you with some of the test answers.

awesome professor! We had so many great discussions in class, and he makes all his lectures interesting. We NEVER used the textbook, so don;t bother getting it. GO TO CLASS, because that's the only way you'll pass, but by the end on the semester you'll be excited to be in his class!

Honestly, this has been my favorite class. Rutledge's lectures are never dry and he always tries to make everything as simple as possible. He's jokes and sense of humor makes the class highly enjoyable.

The best professor I have ever had in my life! He is so helpful and gives you 25% of questions and answers to every test. He made American Government actually interesting and I actually learned lol and can have good intelligent political conversations and debates because of him. Just go to class, and study every now and then and you will get an A!

Funny professor, lectures are a tad long and you have to actually pay attention and take notes because his tests are 100% from lecture. Don't need the book at all so don't waste your money! Gives you 25% of questions on the text before the test.

Rutledge is a very good professor and i would definitely recommend him. His quizzes and exams comes from exactly what he lectures on so i don't recommend you skipping his class. He also gives extra credit when he's irritated about how people don't come to his class SO GO TO CLASS ! You don't need a book just take notes during lecture.

Rutledge is hilarious. Yes it is a lecture course and it is best you attend class. You might end up with extra credit if you do and the rest of class does not. Weekly quizzes online but they are easy. He will tell you this will be on the quiz during the lectures. Tests are taken directly from quizzes. Doesn't require a textbox but recommends one.

Dr. Rutledge was one of my absolute favorite professors. The instructions on assignments were always clear, his lectures were very organized and he was very laid-back, and the exams were very easy as long as you read the book and pay attention to his lectures. Definitely take his class!

Great teacher! As with most online classes, you have to read and teach yourself. His test are pretty easy. You have around 5 discussions with the class and must respond to at least two of your classmates discussions. Have to write two papers ( 500 words). Skipped last paper and gave full credit. Made an A+. Take him!!!!!!

Professor Rutledge is a great professor. He gives you multiple opportunities to be successful on his exams, providing you with the needed material that will be presented on the exam. Professor Rutledge can be quite erratic at times if he feels like someone is talking over him or he is not being payed attention to at all but he is a great professor

Really enjoyed the class

Professor Rutledge is pretty amazing. He works really hard to make sure you earn a decent grade, and is really understanding when it comes to missed work. He is really knowledgeable in his area, and is an all around cool guy. I definitely recommend!

Take this guy, you won't regret it. He does take a while to put in grades, but you shouldn't worry because his tests are fairly easy and gives you something he calls a "lightning round" for tests in which he gives you a key-word for every question.

Have to come to class to pass, but his lectures are so interesting and he can be really funny at times! Gives you absolutely everything you need to pass the tests, you will never feel not prepared. I would recommend for everyone to take him!

This guy is hilarious. He cares about his class in a way that he tries his best to be politically unbiased to an impressive extent and by no means tries to suck up for evaluations. He earns respect through honesty and fairness on a personal level. His class isn't "easy" but he makes getting an A possible for everyone. To pass: show up to lectures!

Best professor ever. He gives you everything you need to succeed his class. During the reviews for his test he will literally give you direct answers to some of the test questions, and answer any questions you have. Also offers easy extra credit points if you dress up for halloween, or known what partisanship he stated in class. I love him, and he is very unbiased political science professor.

Professor Rutlege was a great professor! There are 3 exams, and 1 paper (gives you a 100 just for turning it in). There is no way you should ever fail an exam, he gives you all the tools you need to make a really good grade on all of your exams on review day. Attendence isn't mandatory, but it's good to go to class everyday to keep up in the class.

Please take him, he's the absolute best.

I took Rutledge for a Gov class last semester and I made an A by doing highschool level studying. He is super helpful and his lectures don't really even feel like school. He makes it fun. He is very funny and will help you out any way he can. He is nice but he doesn't take all bull. So just do what you're supposed to do and you'll get an A TAKE HIM

Easy and cool and funny professor

His review sessions are the best. You have three 50 question test and he gives you answers to five questions of your choice and a lightning round with a hint for each question. His lectures on tough though because you have to write/type what he is saying. Great professor and guy. Definitely recommend his class.

Mr. Rutledge was a great professor for my POLS-2201, State and Local Government course. The class is very easy with multiple discussion posts based on what you have to read in the class which is not much. You also have three short papers which is very easy to do since it is only a page or two in length. I highly recommend this course for everyone!

Professor Rutledge is a very laid back, easygoing professor. You really need to go to class to understand the course material, however, all exams are take home, if you get what I'm saying. There are 8 discussions throughout the semester that are graded for completion. This is a very easy class.
