A great teacher! Is very enthusiastic about political science, and makes it interesting. Probably the best professor I've ever had. Very helpful and makes the students feel comfortable with their questions.

I was not looking forward to this class at all. But Mr. Savoie is such a great teacher! I knew nothing about social science and aced the class. He is awesome. Takes home midterm and final, in class essay, group discussions.. I loved him!

Great teacher! If you have to take polical science, take Paul. He is what every teacher should be! One of the best there is.

This teacher is very organized but be prepared to take notes throughout the entire class period. He gives study guides for all tests and allows students to drop their lowest score. Be warned...you must do community service during the semester or write a 12-14 page essay by the end of the semester. All in all he is a very good teacher.

He's the best teacher I've had. I took it during summer 2 get it over with! He made it interesting & extremely easy 2 understand. Very little h/w, just reading & the text he uses is "easy reading". Take him, u won't b disappointed! He really cares about his students & makes sure that everyone understands! I can say NOTHING negative about him!

Great teacher. he is very into his subject which makes the class very interesting. He writes all of the notes on the board which are very clear and easy to understand. The class is pretty easy if you go to class and take the notes. The tests are only on the material he talks about in class. I've learned a lot about Govt, which I used to HATE.

Probably won't need to buy the book if you take good notes and attend class. Before exams he gives you study guides a week in advance so you know everything that's going to be on it. A real nice/funny guy. I don't like gov't but he made it clear and interesting. Only one paper due and he gives you from beginning to end to complete it. Pretty simple

A great teacher who really is understanding. He's easy to understand and teaches in a manner that captures your interest. I would totally recommend him as an instructor!

He was one of the most fun, lively, articulate professors I've ever had. I learned so much in his class & all his lessons were useful & interesting. Tests were pretty easy, I got A's on all of them!

Class is SUPER EASY! gives study guide that completely tells you whats going to be on the test. Lectures are very clear and can be interesting. Savoie is very into his subject and doesn't make it boring. Plus optional outside assignment where you get to mentor a kid - that was GREAT!

Very Easy A and very nice guy. i rarely attended class just picked up the study guide that told you everything that was going to be on the exam. there were 4 of them with the lowest grade dropped or dont show up to the last. Drops ?'s that most got wrong on test plus the option of writing a 10 page paper or mentoring a kid. All term to finish it.

He's pretty clear on his lectures and is always willing to answer student's questions. The tests are easy but you do need to do a little studying. You also have to either do community work or type a 10 page research report. Other than that, great class.

I took him for politcal science. He give test that are hard if you do not study. However, he gives u a VERY helpful study guide before every test. Also, he gives quizzes but you do them in a group andt hey are not hared. NO HOMEWORK at all. :) He is a nice, funny guy and know what he is talking about. i recommend him.

This was my first semester at city. I basically loved this class. He explains things very cleary! Very Understanding, and nice guy. gives great study guides before each test, class can be hard if you do not take notes or review the study guide. At the end of the semester you have an option of a 10 pg paper or his volunteer option. GO WITH THE PAPER

This class is kind of a joke. It was easier than my high school government class, so I only went one about one third of the time...I only did well because I came on the days he handed out the study guides for the tests and looked up the stuff online. The paper was easy...I wrote it buzzed and still got an A.

Savoie is an excellent teacher! His notes are very CLEAR and UNDERSTANDABLE, makes you really understand the material. He's kind of a politics geek which is good because he really knows his stuff. Theres no homework, his tests are super easy, his study guides practically spell out whats on the test! This class motivated me to major in this subject!

Teacher gives you study guide one week in advanced, easy test if you read what you have to read. Notes are all on the board, never used the textbook.

Amazing Professor & Amazing class. This course and his passion for the subject inspired me to be a Political Science major. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Do the study guide, do the reading, take part in class discussions and it'll be the best class you've ever taken.

This class is a compartive politics class was very interesting yet difficult at times. I took this professor for Polsc1H & loved his teaching style so much I took another course with him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! DOING READING IS VERY IMPORTANT, GETS IRRITATED IF PPL DON'T DO READING SO TAKE PART IN CLASS DISCUSSIONS!

I love his class. He makes his lecture understandable. His tests is really easy if you study the study guide. I recommend him. If you need politcal science, go for his class.

This teacher is the best. His class will be easy if you pay attention and take clear notes. He lectures but he tries to lecture it in a way where even middle schoolers can understand. We're requireed to buy 2 text books that are kinda cheap but I barely use the text books, you must take good notes though. A big portion of the test is on the notes.

this guy is great. i missed probably about ten classes and still got an A... he gives you points for test q's that most of the class got wrong. so basically i got twelve extra points on each test. CHIIILLLLLLLLLL. seriously, take him.

really easy! I didnt even open the book the entire semester. He gives really good notes & thats all you need for the tests. Tests are some multiple choice, 5 short answers where you define terms, and a short essay. I got A's on all of them, not hard at all! Also there are 2 quizzes, and they are group quizzes so they are pretty impossible to fail.

Great teacher. You can get a very good grade in this class if you just write what he writes on the board, and study a day or 2 before the exam. 3 group quizzes, 1 big paper (7 or more pages long), but it's very easy. If I had one wish, I would go back in time and retake this class cuz I got a C. :(. You all can can get an easy A. Chill class.

Mr. Savoie is one of the most dedicated teacher I ever seen. He is very professional, organized and crystal clear in his teaching. Very fair in his grading and easy. Mr. Savoie is fantastic. His understanding of government is great and his desire to see his students learn is sincere. He is very accessible, and also very understanding. For Political Science majors, he is a great professor to establish a relationship with--he gives great advice and knows a lot about his field.

Hands down the most amazing teacher I have ever had in the political science department. Before taking his class I had no interest in Politics whatsoever and now I am leading into the second half of the semester and registered for his polsc 2 class and have switched my major. A+ teacher.

Love him! Such a cool professor and you learn a lot! He's really funny, always there during office hours to help you, and tries his best to keep lectures interesting. Definitely take advantage of extra credit. If you take good notes you can almost study straight from that and don't need the book. Highly recommend!!!

Great teacher! Four exams (lowest dropped), make sure you read the textbook or else you'll fail the multiple choice part ! Two group quizzes (easy As). Extremely easy essay grader so the final project is a breeze (i did the 10+ research paper). I loved this class, he's super nice and clear through his lectures. Got a high A in the class, no stress.

Boring lectures but super easy class only 2 group quizes a student choice project and four exams which are all the same 25 multiple choice, 5 short answer of your choice and an essay which is actually pretty easy take him if you want to get an easy class

This by far was a great class to take! His class is very easy because he makes everything crystal clear so you can understand it. I loved this class if I was a Political Science major I would try to take as many classes with him as possible. He is also open minded and accepts/respects others opinions.

Excellent teacher knows his stuff. Test are fairly simple. study the notes and pay attention and you will be fine. does not take attendance but if you miss class be sure to get notes from someone. gives 4 test and 2 groups tests....drops your lowest grade.

Class was EASY!! not sure how i got an A because i never showed up for class but do the class project, and quiz get like 1 or 2 good grade on the test you'll get a definite A. If you want to slack off never show up and do bad on your test you can still pass, just do your project and quiz. it's super easy

I really enjoy him and the class. He's extremely knowledgeable about everything he discusses and more. Savoie is eager to help when it comes to his class as well as others. The end of the semester project is enjoyable and easy. The lowest test score gets dropped...it's all extremely manageable. I highly recommend this class.

Read the chapters before you take the test! I cannot stress that enough because the multiple choice is based only on the reading! If you read the chapters, look over the lecture notes then you'll be prepared for the tests! He's really easy and you might not even have to take the final test if you play your cards right!

Savoie is the best PoliSci prof at LBCC. 4 tests (drops lowest score), 2 group quizzes, & a project (community service or essay). Read the chapters, read your class notes, & create flashcards before test dates. Do not procrastinate the project for last minute! I did not have to take the final, & I passed the class with an A; which is rare for me.

Professor Savoie makes it very easy to understand politics! Took him in the summer, I truly enjoyed his lectures. He makes it pretty easy to pass the class. Take good notes, read the books and PAY ATTENTION and you'll pass with an A! I highly recommend him -- a pretty funny and easy going teacher! :)

Mr. Savoie is very clear on the material he wants you to know for the exams and hands out study guides before each one! He tells you exactly what to write for your lecture notes and is extremely clear. He is one of the best professors I've had!

Really good professor and really patient with even the most obnoxious people. Take notes and read the book. Back up your arguments in your quizzes and tests and you'll be fine. He's an easy grader and he curves the tests a lot too, so that obviously helps.

Don't be brought down by the 3 part exams and 8-10 pg paper (alternate could be community service). One part is multiple choice, short answer and an essay which he will provide the topics before hand so you can study for it on your own time. I shall never forget him mentioning a former student of his, wanted to be called "stinky". He is VERY funny and the world's greatest lecturor with writing on a boring white board. I HATE politics but poli sci with Savoie made me think twice about lot's of political issues. Professor Savoie, I salute you! ;)

This was his first time teaching PoliSci 11 and at times it showed. The book we had to read was often incredibly complex and obscure. However, he worked hard to try and help us with the text, plus he's always available for office hours.

Excellent professor & very understanding. 4 exams, lowest score dropped, student choice project (recommend doing the community service - easy 150 points or 8-10 page paper), 2 group quizzes, & other small assignments worth 25-75 points. I cannot stress enough how important it is to read in his class. Read beforehand & use his notes!

He was the best teacher I've had. His notes are perfect, he explains very well. There is a paper due at the end of semester, or you have another option. Im not much of a writer but i got an A on the last paper, If i can get an A anyone can. Totally recommend him :)

Savoie is one of my all time favorite professors. I took him for Polsc 1H and Polsc 11 and would take him again in a heartbeat. Not only is he passionate and gives amazing lectures, but he gets so personally invested with his students that I will never forget the kindness and effort he put into me not only in class, but outside of class too.

This was my third class with Savoie. In every class, he has administered four non-cumulative examsthe lowest of which dropsand two group quizzesboth count. Additionally, he require a class project, consisting of either Blast participation, or a ten page paper. Savoie is a dedicated and respected instructor. I have flourished under his tutelage.

I did not know what to expect, and was pleased with what I got. I would take any class he teaches. Very clear lectures, answers questions well, and knows what he is talking about. Always gives a study guide for tests, and throws out your worst score for final grade. Start early on your project, it should be no prob nailing a good grade.

Professor Savoie is a great asset to LBCC. He is well respected by the students and a very inspirational teacher. If I could, I would definitely take him again for any of my classes.

In the beginning of the semester, he clearly states that there are four tests (lowest is dropped), two group quizzes and a semester long project which is either volunteering for BLAST or doing a eight page paper. As long as you do the reading that he assigns, passing shouldn't be a problem.

Savoie is a passionate professor. He deeply cares about this subject + deeply cares about his students WIN. This class was not "easy" but well worth the effort to show up and listen. This class is great for all citizens, but GREAT if this is your major. He will take extra time to work with you and resolve class or other concerns.

Paul Savoie is pretty great. I don't really like politics but he's so passionate about it that it gets you into it. His class is not easy, but it is whatever amount of work you put in. He gives you his "foolproof study guides" and they may seem overwhelming but they really help and make the tests a lot easier and less stressful. Also, choose BLAST.

Take Paul! His syllabus said 4 exams but we only had time for 3 so he ended up just doubling our highest grade from the 3 exams that we took plus he drops the lowest score! Also, 3 group quizzes! which are easy A's bc he lets you write notes while you discuss with the group and use them for the quiz. calculated getting a C & ended with a B!

Such an awesome professor! Always heard PolSci was gonna be boring/difficult, but I'm happy I chose Savoie. I enjoyed his lectures and they were real easy to follow. 4 group quizzes and 4 tests and your choice of student project (personally glad I chose BLAST). Highly recommend this professor!

Savoie is a good teacher through and through however if you plan on taking his class, be prepared to take a nap and to see your classmates asleep aswell. His lectures are usually long and boring & what bugs me the most is he doesnt make any eye contact with students and is always looking up at the ceiling. Reminds me of Mr. Garrison from South Park

I hated Political Science and didn't care much about it. That was before I took Prof. Savoie's Polisci class. He shows passion when he teaches and is really committed to his students. He is inspirational and his class is easy. Just show up and take notes. He gives out study guides. Easy A!

Polsc1 summer 2016. We had 3 exams work 100pts. 2 quizzes 25pts. One survey 25pts. One 5pg paper from a movie 125pts. He gives full proof study guides for test you can't fail if you study it. 25 multiple choice questions. Write 5 out of 10 definitions. And answer 1 out of 4 mini essay questions. essay que & definition r given in advance. Great prof

The most amazing professor. Genuinely engaging and deeply cares for the subject at hand. Eloquent speaker, lecturer. I watched him at the professors debate recently and he stood out among the panel, his usual self. So glad to take this first course of education in politics during the election-campaign. Polisci is digestible with his guidance.

I had heard rumors about political science being a tough class, but that wasn't the case with Professor Savoie. He is an amazing professor who truly wants his students to pass, and it shows. I highly recommend him! Also, you do need the book for the exams so it's not optional.

4 tests & 3 group quizes, lowest scores dropped. Study guides w/essay question prompts provided before ea. test. He gives you all the answers and tells you were to find them. Take that info & prepare for the tests & with will get an A. 1 term project where you can choose to do a 8-10 pg research paper or volunteer community service project.

Professor Savoie is a great teacher. I had him for both Poli Sci 1H and Poli Sci 2 this spring semester. His lectures are fairly boring, so I recommend really reading the books if you want to pass his class. Also, do the service project instead of having to write the 10 page paper. Its easy and only takes 2 hours out of your week.

AMAZING teacher! I was quite nervous taking a political class since it's honestly not my favorite topic at hand, but Savoie made the experience great! His lectures are step by step and ALWAYS makes sure that your questions are answered. He cares about his students so much. Thinking I wouldn't pass.. I passed with an A! He rocks!

The best syllabus I have ever seen! He explained everything in detail and wants each student to do well. Must read the books and know vocabulary. Got to do a service project working with a 1st grader for 2 hours a week for the final project and loved that experience. If you read and show up you will get the A.

Took him for summer and this class was so boring. His lecture will put to sleep, but his notes does help when it comes to his exams and read the textbook or you won't pass the exams. Overall it was an easy class

Professor Savoie's lectures are not really exciting. He lectures throughout the whole class time & I had him for 2 &1/2 hours everyday. His notes are useful, but you can't rely on the notes only. If you don't read the textbook, you can fail. His tests are not like the study guide, except for essay questions. If you ask questions, he gets annoyed.

Savoie is a kind and knowledgeable professor who is passionate about this subject, but his class-long lectures can get a little boring. Doesn't take attendance but it's wise to go because it's an easy A on quizzes and tests from the notes alone. 3 group quizzes, 4 exams, and community service or a report. He's a very understanding guy and a great teacher. He gives study guides to the test and a choice of a 10 page paper or 20 hour service project-the 20 hours go by so fast and you end up enjoying it! Also, make sure to study for the tests or you won't pass, although he does drop 1 low test score.

Seems to be very passionate about political philosophy. Although, his left-leaning opinions are occasionally discussed in a matter-of-fact way; i.e., intersectionality. Lectures are very interesting and informative for the most part.

His lectures were passionate and entertaining which was nice on Friday morning. Volunteer with Blast, it is life changing. He inspired me to take a more critical look at my political view point without trying to sway me towards or away from a party. He helped me in office hours understand my viewpoint on politics. Helpful. Inspirational.

This professor was really laid back and all we did was lecture and take tests. Your lowest test and quiz score will be dropped so that is really awesome. And you have a big paper due at the end of the semester(its not too hard). A lot of the time the lecture you just print out, and the test is based off the book and lecture notes.

I expected his class to be harder. But it's really straightforward. 4 quizzes, lowest score dropped. And one paper due at the end of the semester which has to include 8-10 pages. The book will really help with information for the tests. There's study guides handed out before the test to help! And all the slides will be posted online.

Savoie is a really cool professor. He teaches you what you need to know to do well on the exam and he offers a lot of help outside of class. It is rare to find a professor that cares as much as he does at LBCC. Take his class if you can!

He was the sweetest professor I had that semester. One of the few professors that want you to succeed and the only one that is a fair grader. I learned a lot in his class that I will probably use later in life and he made me realize how weird our government system is.

For the exams, the multiple choice portion was the hardest part for me. You actually have to read the textbook to get a good grade for the multiple choice. The short answers and the essay are easy, but study the terms! You also have the choice to write a long essay or do mentoring for Long Beach Blast for a project. I recommend mentoring.

Savoie is a teacher that wishes you to succeed. The study guides are an exact outline of the test, 8 vocab words or concepts, and an essay. A prewrite of the essay is required before class. There are also 2 group quizzes in the semester. My one criticism is that lectures can be very dense, and there is no powerpoint. Visual learners beware.

Paul Savoie is a great professor, rarely ever gives homework. Your grade is just made up of group quizzes and tests, which arent hard at all. You really have to try hard to not pass his class, 10/10 recommend his class.

There were only four test and he dropped the one with the lowest score. There were also quizzes but theyre group quizzes so very easy. He provides notes for the lecture which makes it easy to follow along. Great professor, he really wants his students to succeed.

The lectures could be a bit boring but if you participate actively he takes notice and it helps retain the information. You definitely need to read the book in order to pass the multiple choice sections on the test. He grades on a curve and he is very sweet. Definitely recommend him.

3 group quizzes-discuss with group, write yourself/4 tests- multiple choice, short answer, essay (lowest of each dropped), BLASTLB program, or 8-10 page paper. Very enthusiastic lectures, which helps if you get bored easily. Does not really do attendance, but he puts some of his lecture on the tests. Read the Kerbel book. Don't need the Huber one.

Prof. Savoie's class consists of lecture notes. He gives group quizzes which he tells what the topic is about before the day of the quiz. The tests consist of multiple choice questions, definitions, and an essay. You need to read the book to pass the tests. Gives a final project. He cares about his students. Overall he is a great professor.

Professor Savoie is truly one of a kind. He genuinely cares about the health and well-being of his students, and wants everyone to succeed. He is enthusiastically helpful, and makes a complex subject approachable and fun. Tests are kind of intense, with short answers and an essay due in the class period. Answers all questions kindly. 10/10.

Amazing professor!! I think there were 3 group tests & 4 regular tests. Lowest test grade is dropped. Tests are based on 25 multiple choice questions, defining vocab & an essay. It's not hard work, but attend lectures & try to pay attention. Most essay prompts were based on the lectures. Savoie is super caring & funny too, he wants the best for you

A good Professor who is passionate about politics. Lectures can be dull sometimes but still bearable. 4 exams but if you did well on first 3 exams, you don't have to take the final and must complete a research paper or could do BLAST.

Professor Savoie is the best ! Definitely recommend. Quizzes are super easy and done in groups. Exams are based on assigned reading and lectures. Gives opportunities for extra credit and drops your lowest test score. He gives the option to do an 8-10 pg final paper or volunteer as a mentor with LBlast. (I recommend volunteering).

The work is doable. The professor cares about his students and it shows. 3 group quizzes and 4 tests (drops lowest score). Final is either a research paper or BLAST (Do BLAST). There's no way to fail this class unless you don't try. I was never interested in political science but this professor sure did make the class fun.

I honestly thought political science would be boring but with Mr. Savoie, I enjoyed it. Easy A. Theres 4 exams and 4 group quizzes which he drops the lowest score from. For project, you can do either a volunteer program or a 6 pg. essay, I did the essay last minute and still managed to get an A on it. TAKE HIS CLASS, you wont regret it.

Hes a great professor he gives 3 group quizzes with the lowest score dropped. He gives great lecture notes. If you take notes in his class you will do good on the tests. The final project will be 8-10 pages or volunteer work I really liked his class because he would keep the class engaging. He will give you extra credit points he will be there.

He is truly an angel. He cares about each one of his students-past and present. His assignments and exams are not difficult if you study well. I was not looking forward to Polsci but his class made it fun and interesting! I wish all professors were as kind and compassionate as him. Take him!!!

Having to transition the class online in the middle of the semester was unfortunate. However, he was very understanding of student's needs that he gave us extra time to turn in any assignments. He is super clear on what he wants answered on the discussions and tests. It was only 3 tests, class discussions once a week and one project.

Professor Savoie is AMAZING. His lectures are informative and never boring; his style of teaching is really engaging and thorough. He is a relatively easy grader. If you put in the effort, it will pay off in the end. I mainly love that he is an ally for POC and for the LGBTQ+ community. Professor Savoie makes me feel comfortable in his classroom.

Professor Savoie is an excellent educator. I took his course this Spring and he has been very considerate in regards to COVID and offers a two day grace period for all assignments. He offers optional zooms, weekly discussion posts due Friday, one student choice project and three tests. He's passionate on the subject, would recommend to everyone.

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. The weekly discussions were a decent amount of work, more so than all of my other courses, but he makes the grading criteria very clear. Such a nice guy and always tells students he is proud of them. Relatively easy grader as well- I even received 10 extra credit points on my final paper!

If you have the opportunity to take a class with Professor Savoie, please, do! Not only he really cares about you and your grade as long as you get the work done, but you will learn a lot without making politics complicated. I loved his class and his lectures.

Enroll! Savoie is the absolute best. I have taken all his PoliSci courses and can assure you he is equally enthusiastic about his subjects and students. This is not an "easy A" but if you genuinely participate in discussions and ask questions you will succeed. He is open-minded/knowledgeable and makes the assignments enjoyable.

I find government extremely boring but Professor Savoie is what and how professors should be. You learn from his classes and he is easy to pass. If you fail or get anything lower than a "C", then that is 100% your fault. His tests are open book, notes, and lectures, so this is no way for you to fail. I took him for Spring 2021 for an online class.

His grading is clear & all the assignments he puts out & everything he clearly goes over is on the test. Its not a trick. He doesnt add anything he doesnt teach. He also goes over it in lectures & his notes are easy to understand & comprehend to students. Hes really supportive & easy to talk to if you end up struggling(unlikely). He cares!

Not only is Professor Savoie a great professor (available, clear and passionate) but hes also a great person. His attitude was so inspiring. I took this class our of necessity and ended up loving it and that is in no small part thanks to his enthusiasm, genuine kindness and compassion.

Great and solid choice. Lots of reading, but nonetheless you get what you put in. The class was rather enjoyable and he hands out extra credit like candy. Provides very strong feedback, more than any other Professor Ive had. Would 100% take again. Couple small 5 paragraph essays, but nothing too extreme. All around strong Professor.

U don't always need 2 watch his lectures to pass because his notes are good, but his videos help. He gives extra credit on assignments if u put in the effort.(Grade 115% and I work part-time)

This professor is literally the sweetest professor ever. If you were someone random and if you went up to him, he will treat you like family. His test and discussions are very easy and super open-minded. He offers and gives out a lot of extra credit for putting in extra work. I had fun in his class and I wished I had him in person.

This is by far one of the best teachers I have had. In the sessions, half of the class we spent discussing current events while the other half was reviewing the course work, which was not hard to understand at all. The best polsc professor out there! Hes such a caring and understanding person as he gives extensions on assignments/tests as long as u email him with ur circumstances. He also gives a lot of EC and drops one of the discussion posts and tests. Theres only 3 tests so u technically only have to do 2. He also connects his lessons to the real world!

Clear and accessible teaching style. The course is easy to navigate and the material is not too much on the heavy side. Paul is a great teacher, and a better person, his ratings accurately reflect how he teaches and who he is.

Mr. Savoie is an excellent professor. I really enjoyed taking his class and learning about political science. Stay on top of the weekly reading and discussions and you will have no problem. I took on online course but his lectures are recorded via zoom so it felt like I was in class hearing a lecture. His lectures are engaging and interesting.

BEST POLSC TEACHER! He's a caring teacher and understands students have to balance work, I can say how his 2 day grace period for assignments has saved me. Although his lectures are optional, I strongly recommend going as his lectures are interesting and I am actually interested as a student.

I rarely ever write reviews in general, but Professor Paul Savoie has to be one of the best professors I ever had and honestly, I wish I had him in person, you will never feel alone with him, and he also offers a lot of extra credit. you will feel that you are more than just a student to him in this class; he cares a lot about his students.

This class is one of the easiest and best classes I've ever taken. For this course, the entire class was just six discussions and two tests, and there is a lot of extra credit offered. If you go above and beyond on an assignment, he recognizes this and awards you with even more extra credit. He cares about his students and leaves nice comments.

I took this course in summer and found it well paced, though writing heavy. It's 6 discussions/2 written tests that are 8 definitions + a 5 paragraph essay. Watch lectures/read handouts and it's an easy A! The main thing is that you have to be invested in your own learning. He's just wanting people to take an interest the future of this country.

Professor Savoie was such a great teacher. The class was super easy. The modules for the assignments are all posted so you can work ahead if you'd like. There was 6 discussion posts and they have to be 2-4 paragraphs each. It's super easy though, not a lot of work. There are 2 tests and he posts the questions on the assignment so it is not timed.

I am ending the semester with over a 101.71% as a grade. He gives a two day grace for every assignment. He is very passionate about what he teaches and is super caring towards every single one of his students. If you are wondering if you should take his class, DO IT! By far the best professor I have had at LBCC. The work he gives isn't hard either.

The most caring professor I have encountered so far- always starts and ends classes with personal inspirational messages and support. Teaches through lectures, articles, and in-depth notes. Lots of extra credit. This class was an incredibly impactful class and I would highly recommend! Politics can be dark, Savoie addresses the topic with care.

Professor Savoie is the absolute gem. The async class is co-taught with Prof Chen, but all grades are done by him for SOCSC7. The discussions are quite interesting, much different than POLSC1 or 9. However, his notes are so good. He lets you learn through your writing and interpretations. I couldn't have done it without his guidance & flexibility.

He is the best Professor ever at LBCC for POLSC 1. I take him in this Summer 2023.There are 6 discussions and 2 tests. You will get more extra credit in each discussion if you are thoughtful with critical thinking. Remember to read his notes and watch his lecture video before do the assignments. His lecture with explanations are very clear.

Took a 6 week summer course-- and yes there is a lot to cover but Professor Savoie organizes his notes, lectures, and assignments so they are easy to access, be referred back to, and very relevant. He provides feedback on all assignments and truly cares about his student's learning. I learned so much in the 6 weeks and I would 10/10 recommend!

if you need an easy-to-understand class, this is the best bet. Savoie is clear with grading and hands out extra credit if he thinks your work deserves it. As long as you read the material (which is never very long), you will be just fine. There are weekly discussion boards with 2 responses for full credit and 3 for extra credit. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

(Fall 2023) Paul Savoie is such an amazing human being..... I've never been so interested in politics and the history of this country till I took this class. I always looked forward to Fridays, sitting at the edge of my seat during our Zoom meetings. I told my freaking barber to take this class after having an interest in POLSC.

It's an absolute pleasure to take any class with him. Same style and format with every course, however, different material of course. Political Theory was really fun and I highly recommend taking it even before POLSC 1 if you can! I recommend it so that you can learn about the western philosophers before diving into the US Government (POLSC 1).

350 characters is far too few to describe the person Professor Savoie is. If half of the world's faculty were as knowledgeable and caring as Paul, the world would be a better place. His lectures are great, and participating in the class is essential. Assignments are heavy, but they set you up for the future. A must-take professor at LBCC.

Summer class. As long as you do your work you'll have no problem. Fairly easy to pass.

Take this class!!!Took this class during the summer, it was overall very easy it was 5 discussion posts and 2 tests but they were fairly simple if you kept up with the reading and videos and can form your pwn understanding. I ended the class with a 122% so I would say the effort you put in definitely reflects on your grade.

Hands down the most caring and inspirational professor I have ever taken and wish I could take more of his classes. He wants the new generation to succseed and is very willing to talk with you about anything. Love professor Savoie!!
