The notes aren't organized the best way & he goes very fast in class, but he puts them all online, so you'll have to spend extra time looking at them & organizing your notes in a way you'll understand them. However, if you have questions about anything, he is very helpful in answering anything, and he is really good with giving extra credit.
I had him for A&P 1 lecture and unfortunately got him again for A&P 2 lecture next semester. The only A&P prof that gives research papers and online quizzes (almost every 2 weeks) not including the in-class exams. Also, he gives 6 hour online assignments 2 days before an exam. I could keep going but I'll stop there.
His grading system is unnecessarily confusing. Remember to set an alarm on your phone for when his random and annoying online quizzes are due.
His intentions are good but he is extremely unclear and gives way more work than necessary. He does know his stuff, but he fails to teach it in a clear and understandable way. He also gives a lot of online homework assignments and quizzes so be prepared for that. You have to do a lot of work on your own. Stay away if possible!
As others have said, he does give a fair amount of work. It's definitely do-able but you can't leave his assignments for the last minute unless you want to be up all night. His power points are unclear- read the textbook before class. On the up side, very willing to give extra credit and good review sheets.
Professor Schweyer, was not clear with what he was teaching at all. While he tried to have good intentions and gave a lot of online assignments and a paper to help your grade his overall lectures are impossible to understand. I basically taught myself Anatomy 1 because of the textbook. I dreaded attending his class in the morning 3 days a week.
Overall he has good intentions and looks to help students in every possible way he can. This course is very detailed and his exams are actually easier than expected. His power points are extremely helpful. The only problem I have is that there were a lot of assignments, quizzes, and exams. But it's all good cause it's meant to boost your grade
Professor Schweyer is AMAZING, seriously. Everyone complains how hard his exams are but if you pay attention and take good notes in class they're super easy. The study modules really weren't that bad it took me about 15 mins and it helped me keep up with lecture. DON'T wait for the last minute to do them. He's willing to help you with anything.
Had him my first semester for AP and everyone i know who had him complained about him all the time. Everything i learnt was self taught by reading the textbook and studying really hard, thats the only reason why i got an A in his class. His test are difficult and his power points suck and aren't useful. The test are all textbook based.
Had him Fall '14 and Spring '15, gives online modules to help boost your grade. I actually learned things about anatomy in the class. He tries to be funny and make the class exciting. In the Fall, he gave online quizzes and tests and gave more than enough time to complete them. In the Spring, he became a lot easier.
I took this class for A&P one. In the beginning I didn't really like him because it was hard to follow his lecture and he moved really fast. After I took the first test I didn't really mind this class anymore he outlined the test and told you everything you needed to know in order to pass the test, he gives a lot of extra credit and is very nice.
He is such a nice man. His assignments are so clear and easy to understand. I would recommend for someone to take this class because his tests are easy. Attendance is the way that you will pass because his tests are 80% based on lecture.
HE IS A HORRIBLE TEACHER !!!!!!!!!! don't ever take him!!!!!!!!!! he has no heart and wants u to fail the class basically . does not teach everything is basically self taught so might as well just don't take the class at all cause u will be wasting all ur money at adelphi!!!
If you pay attention and do all that is required to be a successful student, excelling in his course is no real challenge.
You'll think you're failing in the beginning but he wants everyone to do well so he gives extra credit and easy online assignments that save your grade. So kind and patient there is never a stupid question you can ask him.
I do not know why students are saying he is not a good professor because he helped me boost my grades by giving us extra credits. You have to take notes to pass so be there in class every day! You need the textbook too because you have to check the notes and then go do the reading for that chapter. He is understanding and knows how to treat us!
Although his tests are hard, he gives one take-home test per semester. He also gives online assignments which aren't too bad. He gave us two opportunities to receive extra credit and a project. These extra assignments really aren't bad and improve your grade A LOT. He actually cares if you do well and wants you to pass.
I absolutely love this professor. He is very caring about his students and even though he is tough, he is worth it. He really teaches you the material. Plus, he'a so funny it hurts. Especially in the 8 and 9am lectures he will try to make your mornings worth while. Pay attention to his notes! he will tell you whats on the test, seriously).
I definitely give him respect as a teacher and he tries to liven up the class in the morning. His lectures go at a fast pace and you really need to work for the grade. He didn't give us any extra credit so keep that in mind.
Very boring lectures. Exams are difficult, one is take home which is a plus. The final exam is 100 questions, half from previous exams and half new material. He gives a lot of extra credit. He also gives a paper.
The class itself is not easy, the way it is taught makes it a little harder. You need to do outside reading and be able to understand the material before the lecture. Otherwise you will be sitting there clueless as he reads off his powerpoint. He will not go back if you don't write something down. Did not give any extra credit either.
He is a very very nice guy and his lectures are good. However, be prepared for tests to be very detail orientated and based on 5-6 chapters at a time. He did assign a few take home tests and a paper at the end of the semester to bring up your grade, but all the other tests were pretty difficult.
I realized I needed to teach myself in this class. I took anatomy and physiology which wasn't necessarily the hardest class, however he made the class that much more difficult. Talks really soft then really loud out of nowhere. Just read every chapter of the textbook before you attend lecture if you decide to take him.
This professor will make you slowly die of sleep deprivation. HE WEEDS THE BUSH and SEPARATES the strong from the weak. Amazing Lecturer A friend of mine who is a literal "god" for studying was able to write a bingo book that holds WORD FOR WORD everything he's said in class. He's hailed as the "Half-Blood Prince of Anatomy". Study, and your fine.
Don't do it to yourself. Terrible at explaining things, makes almost everything more difficult and you'll end up memorising the whole textbook for his exams. His powerpoint aren't useful either.
Worst professor at Adelphi. He doesn't weed the bushes, more like doesn't teach anything and tests on everything. He pulls questions from exactly from the textbook chapters, DOES NOT GIVE EXTRA CREDIT OR TAKE HOME, and does not curve any tests meanwhile the average would be in the 60's-70's. Do good in lab to boost your grade in his terrible class.
Rigid professor. A LOT of web assign homework that will take you hours to complete. Only 3 tests with about 50 ques. which will make/break your grade. Tells the same story about his hand 20 times. Not that pleasant to talk to when you have a question. Doesn't explain things well and expects you to know everything w/o teaching it. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
Lectures are a bit intense at times, but they cover a large majority of what's on his exams as well as his outlines. Read the textbook for reference, but you won't need it too much. It's not an easy class as Anatomy is not an easy subject but he tries to make it understanable. Study and you'll do fine.
Overall, hes a nice person, but you really have to pay attention to pass his class! A lot of the class is lecture based and its hard to keep up since he does tend to say a lot of things all at once. Although, he does give us whats on the test to study, he does it two days before the actual exam. Its not an easy class.
All he does is talk. His powerpoint are useless and he doesn't give the class a chance to ask questions. He gives a broad review of what is on the test, but it doesn't really help. He gives a paper that is supposed to boost your average, so that's the only good thing. Be prepared to memorize the text book and teach yourself.
This professor is very sincere and caring. Lectures are important and sometimes heavy but he covers a lot of information. Study for tests and you will do fine. Do not need the textbook. Would take a class with him again.
Professor Schweyer is very kind and knowledgable in anatomy, but be prepared to work HARD. Three lecture exams with about 50 questions each, all of which cover dense material, and a final with 100 questions. Attendance is mandatory. Pay attention during the lectures as the tests will cover a lot of the lecture material.
He barely puts any information on the powerpoint, the entire lecture is just him talking in a monotone voice which makes me want to sleep and then he'll randomly just start yelling. His "review sheets" are basically everything from the unit so that is no help. Tests are hard.
Professor Schweyer was not a horrible professor. It is true that his powerpoints had little information and he would talk a lot more than what was in his powerpoints that he emailed, but he gave a lot of mechanisms to help boost our grades. His online MAP assignment answers are all in the textbook and he assigns as essay which he grades as 90+.
He's not a bad professor but if you learn by visuals then this isn't the class for you. Little information on his powerpoints. Although he does go in depth during class he talks extremely fast and you cant get everything he says down. He doesn't offer extra credit but the MAP assignments and essay are a big boost to the grade. He literally tells you everything on the test that you need to know but you definitely have to spend an extensive amount of time going over the textbook. test arent that hard just a little tricky if you don't read the question slowly.
very Knowledgeable professor but he's very boring especially being in his morning class. Doesn't offer extra credit, power points are pictures which isn't helpful because his tests are all words no pictures. I wouldn't recommend taking him try to get another anatomy Professor tbh
He is a very knowledgeable and nice professor. Although his teaching style may not be for everyone; students either did really good in the class or not so great. He is a big lecturer so learn to be a FAST writer. Study for tests way ahead of time. Perks is that he has one research paper that counts as a test grade, which defiantly helps!
One of the most knowledgeable and caring professors i have ever met. Wakes you up in the morning with his jokes. Explains A&P very thoroughly, and bases lectures off textbook (must buy!) readings. His tests are tough, but sometimes if hes feeling generous he allows open-book or gives us topics to study that are directly from the test. Great guy.
Professor Schwerer was a great professor, very knowledgable. However his lectures were sometimes confusing and disorganized. He talks very fast but if you raise your hand he will explain to you what you don't understand. Some of his tests were open notes and there were 2 writing assignments. I would take him again
professor Schweyer's style of teaching may not be for everyone, but if you learn best by listening to someone explain things then he will be perfect for you. He does not assign much homework and he gives clear guidelines as to what will be on exams
Schweyer gives you what you need to succeed the first day. He is very transparent in that way. Lectures are extremely heavy and verbally gives you all the information about 99% of the time, so you have to be alert and ready. He is also fair in the sense that he gives homework weekly and a paper so you can balance out your grade.
He is a very respectful professor. Only gave us 3 tests the whole semester, a few mastering A&P assignments online which you should definitely do as it helps boost your grade in the class, and the final. To prepare for the tests use the mastering A&P and do the practice tests for each chapter you'll see some of the questions on the test and final.
He isnt really welcome to questions and likes to teach by reading off of his notes which are not given to us until a week before the test. His powerpoints are useless all they have is a couple of words and pictures. His office hours are mostly cancelled and he doesnt really care bout anything except thus his lecture is up there, he is no good
Lecture style is bad. Hard to understand. He's a nice person. He's a caring person. Test are hard.
Professor Schweyer is very difficult to talk to. His test are annoying because he sends very long outlines the night before the exam and then will ask questions about the smallest details. He reuses all test, so I would try and get exams from previous students to pass his class.
He gives outlines from his notes but they aren't very detailed when it comes to using them to study for tests. Gives lots of information during lectures so be alert and ready to take notes. Recommend that you record his lectures and fill in whatever notes you missed. Read chapters before lecture to understand lessons.
Professor Schweyer lecture is good, but his tests are hard. His sends outlines and powerpoints of the notes which is helpful. His homework assignments on mastering a&p are helpful as well. He has a research paper to help your grade. He is fair but the class is hard.
I feel he's a fairly decent professor. only very few assignments, just be sure to show up to class and do your work. You should be fine
Professor Schweyer is a very exceptional professor; he was very caring and understanding. His class consists of three tests based on lectures, a paper that is used to bump up your grade, and a final that is cumulative. For the final do not just study the old exams! Make sure you go over old notes and you will do well! Good luck!
had him for lab. Spent the first 15 minutes of class rushing through slides and gives the rest of the class time for us to complete lab exercises on our own. Be prepared to teach yourself the material and have him not answer your questions without it being confusing to understand. Take him if you enjoy learning the material on your own.
Schweyer is a great teacher. Had him for anatomy 1 and 2. His class consists of 3 lecture exams and 1 paper and a cumulative final. Sometimes he goes a little fast so i recommend getting someone in your class's number for notes that you miss. would recommend.
comes across as rude, but means well
Be prepared to read each chapter the night before a lecture. Not the best when it comes to teaching. My class basically had to reteach ourselves the entire material before the final. Takes forever to email his students back and if he does email us back its literally a 3 word response. Only 3 lecture exams, but would not recommend another sem w/him
I took him for Anatomy 1 & 2. He teaches very well. Textbook could be accessed on the same website he uses for assignments, so don't bother purchasing the physical textbook. Three tests plus a final. Research paper and assignments really help with the grade. These yellow & red ratings must've come from those who just didn't want to put in effort.
He gives 3 lecture exams and a final and the final is based off of the 3 exams. Also one paper which helps your grade and you're most likely to get a 100 on it. This class is an easy A+ but you obviously have to put in the work. The exams are based on the lectures so watch those and study only from those. We get masteringA&P assignments, very easy.
Professor Schleyer was a great professor. I took his anatomy and physiology classes both semesters as a freshman during the covid pandemic, so classes were all online. He had good lectures ( sometimes boring) and not many assignments just one per week on mastering, which was easy enough. I would take his class again if I needed to.
Great guy, the work he gives is fair. You do need to study for exams as it is a little hard. He records his lectures which is good, but it is very heavy and a little boring at times, so try to pay attention.
Professor Schweyer sets you up for failure. His lectures are heavy and boring, he does not explain anything well at all. Half of our lecture class was doing bad, and he DOES NOT give any extra credit to help boost our grades or anything! His homework assignments are way too long. His exams cover 9 chapters worth of information. He is rude. HORRIBLE
Professor Schweyer seems like a great guy and you can tell that he wants you to do well although he can be very intimidating and his lectures are very boring. This class is homework and assignment heavy. Be ready to read a ton and start studying for tests about three weeks in advance. Test questions are very fair you just have to know the content.
Professor Schweyer's lectures lack engagement are are very heavy. The homeworks are fair but very long and this is not an enjoyable class in comparison to the lab portion with another professor. He will not explain anything well and the best way to pass the class is simply printing out his review sheets, and doing all the work and research yourself
Those who are rating this professor poorly, clearly did not go the extra mile to ensure a passing grade. In this class, you are in control of your grade. You will be given 3 exams along with a final. A & P will require the majority of your time and energy, give it your all and study hard.
Prof Schweyer is an okay professor. Lectures are heavy and not that much information. Mastering A&P take up most of your time with 60-90 question each time. His tests are fair if you study the material well. No review sheet but the final is easy as it's questions from the 3 previous exams. If there is no other professor left, I'll take him again
Mastering A&P will take up most of your time, with up to 100+ questions. The lectures are long & not really engaging, I wouldn't recommend taking him on zoom. There is no extra credit, so the 3 lecture exams weigh very heavily as does the homework on Mastering A&P. He gives outlines to print out, but other than that reading on your is your best bet
Had him for A&P 1 online. He had everything slides and lectures available for you. Don't show up late for his class. With this class, you have control. The more work you put in, the better grade you get. The best way to describe him is he puts everything in front of you, but he will not spoon feed you. Class is only stressful if you're behind.
Had him for H A&P and oh boy there was so much homework to do in his class. I literally would spend 60% of my time studying for his class. The professor can be lenient if he sees his whole class struggling. His tests are also VERY hard, you need to study A LOT. He has homework and they're helpful for boosting your grade if you have a B.
Idk why he has such bad reviews here! Hes really sweet and caring, but you do have to try. Hes straightforward which I see how some people think its mean. He gets annoyed if you dont put in the work or ask questions you can find answers to on Moodle or Google Take notes and show up to class! The notes on PP arent great but good outline.
A&P II in person with Dr. Schweyer was much better than having him online last semester. His lectures can get boring and his PPT's have little information on them, hard to understand. He does make outlines after each topic which is helpful. The exams are hard and the hw assignments are very long. You have to study a lot and put in the work.
Professor Schweyer has extremely detailed slides for every topic. He also keeps lectures fun by interacting with the class. I'm not sure why he doesn't have better reviews because I found him to be really helpful. Overall a really nice Professor.
Dr. Schweyer's class depends on how much you take notes and listen to the lectures. He cares about the students and wants to see you pass, just ask for help if you need it. His tests are decently hard, but if you pay attention in lecture they are manageable. I would take his class again because he will help you if you need it and he's a nice guy.
Make sure to study 2 or 3 weeks before the exams come up. Lecture heavy and the PowerPoints dont help. The FYI on what will be in the exam dont help at all. I recommend doing very well on the Pearson to pass the class. Cancels office hours a lot. He gave us one open book and the final were repeat questions from previous exams.
He is not a bad professor at all, and he will see who is trying in his class and who isnt. He is very clear on what he expects. Homework is very long and cannot be done late. His tests are difficult, but if you study ALOT, you should be able to pass. Reading the outlines is much more helpful than going over the pp. Dont leave anything last minute.
Schweyer is okay. If you are willing to put in a lot of hours to studying and putting in the work take him. His lectures were confusing
He is such a nice man. His lectures can be confusing, so pay attention. To do good, utilize the Pearson textbook and do all of the homework (it counts as a test grade). The tests imo were straight forward and very fair. Yes you need to study, but you need to study in a bio class in general.... idk why his reviews are so bad
He was very rude to students in my class, I would not recommend taking him. His lectures were long, confusing, and boring. His tests were straightforward but you need to study at least a week before it.
Professor Schweyer is a pretty good professor. There is a lot of homework at times but if you manage your time well it won't be a problem and it is easy to get a good homework grade. When it comes to his exams, you just need to study... but sometimes he breaks down the exam so you know what to expect. Very sweet and understanding.
Very nice, sweet man! The reviews are not a good indicator of the class. While his lectures can be long and boring, they are useful. Definitely use the Pearson site to do good. Like any bio class, you need to study to do well. The tests were very straight foward
Very nice and respectable professor. You can tell he genuinely does care, he constantly reminds students of what is expected. However, his class was lecture heavy and he gives a lot of homework. The PowerPoints were confusing at times so reading the textbook was more helpful imo. Also important, voice is monotone so be sure to pay attention!!
Professor Schweyer is strict, but he is clear about what he expects and will help you if you ask. The homework is long but if paced, you will be fine. Points for hw will boost your grade when done right. He does speak fast and is lecture heavy, but he posts the lectures after. The 3 tests are straightforward, but you have to keep up with the class.
Very nice professor, but I would never take him again. His lectures sucked and his powerpoints were 95% pictures.
Lots of homework but that boosted my grade lots so I was grateful. Tests are hard b/c I'm bad at memorizing things but they are straightforward if you retain the lecture. Tells you what each test will have on it. Will call you out for being on your phone but it's just a respect thing as he obviously wants you to pay attention. Not a terrible prof.
Good Professor, make sure to pay attention in class as some of the questions are from his lectures, textbook, and homework. Overall he cares about your grades and will try to help if you ask.
Professor Schweyer is one of the sweetest and caring professors I've had. He wants all his students to do good. His tests are online and pretty easy and he gives a pearson assignment before each test, he gives you a month to do them which is more than enough time. Attendance isn't counted in your grade but if you miss a lot he will contact you.
I really enjoyed taking Professor Schweyer's class! Although he is lecture heavy, he wants you to do well & even gives you study guides and important slides to go over before each exam. He gives lengthy homework's but you have more than enough time to complete it (usually about a month). I really enjoyed taking his class & I highly recommend him!
Overall he was a very proficient professor. The lectures was a bit too much and repetitive but hes okay as a person. reasonable. alot of homework on Pearson but it should be easy. he gives outlines for classwork but sometimes confusing and hard to break down. over all his class is okay wouldn't take it again.
He was overall a really good choice for a and p. He gives one Pearson assignment for each section with like 100 questions. It's time consuming but really brings up your grade. He's a little weird and its not the easiest class, but its also anatomy. He also gives one big research paper due at the end of the semester that will bring your grade up.
The test are on Moodle. Do your Pearsons!! Gives pop quizzes every two weeks which are technically a grade booster but know your stuff. If you have an excuse he still marks it as absence and it will take points off of your grade. Does not allow extra credit at all. If you do good in lab it will help in the end. Overall he tries.
Professor Schwerer is actually a sweet man. Although the Pearson IRA's were a lot, they really helped me understand the content and they are also meant to give your grade a boost which is great. I would definitely take his course again. He is very monotone though so I recommend taking the MWF classes so they are shorter.
He records lecture which makes it easier to review to take notes and review.
Cool dude but lectures and power points are terrible only what to pass the class is to learn everything on my own, passing the exams and doing the Pearson work.
Very very lecture heavy since day 1. Doesn't prepare you that much for tests especially the final exam! Cant be absent for more than 3 classes. Even with these, Hes a funny and sweet guy, he also gave a good amount of extra credit
Schweyer is a very clear and organized professor, easy to reach, but gives a lot of work. I advise taking notes on the lectures, rewatching them on Moodle, and taking good, thorough notes. The lectures can be very fast-paced, but you have many ways of reviewing outside of class. You have around 4 exams and 7 Quizzes, so you will need to be on top.
I do not recommend taking his class. All he does is read off the slides, and speeds through them. If you ask him to go back, he will just yell at you or say that you should've been paying attention. He does not care for his students. He gives a lot of quizzes and Pearson assignments, even ones with 100 questions. I learned nothing in his class.
I 100% suggest taking him. All his tests are online, If you need an extension, it's really easy to do so. He's super caring and pretty funny. Take him if you're looking for an easier time in a hard class.
I had him for anatomy 1 and 2 and I will say that he is probably the best professor for freshmen. He gives frequent reminders for what is due, records his lectures, and is very accessible outside of class. He gave us a total of 5 exams, 3 Pearson assignments, and 1 case study, all of which were very straightforward and easy to get the hang of.
so many people are saying there is pop quiz but he honestly tells you when they are ahead of time and they are always short. he's such a sweetheart and always cracks the funniest dad jokes. there is 3 big assignments but he gives you a month to do each one. he also assigns optional extra credit and they really help boost your grades.
He's a really funny professor, easy to get along with. His exams are very easy to pass if you study. Our final was literally the past exams put together (all questions we had seen before). Don't hesitate to take his class. Good Luck
He is very sweet, but obviously the course is hard. He records all of his lectures and posts them on moodle but his notes and lectures are insanely confusing. His extra credit is very useful and could bring your grade from a 70 to an 80 basically. All of his tests and quizzes are online, and he uses a lockdown browser. His tests are pretty hard tbh
He doesn't seem like he cares a lot about us understanding the information. He assigns test very often and his test are quite hard. Lecture is very heavy, but they are recorded and posted on Moodle. Extra credit offered. Wouldn't take again.
He makes the quizzes and tests about nothing you learned in the lecture. He tells you what to know for it, then those things do not/barely appear. He is annoying with grading, and is so harsh about the grades. You can't make up/improve quizzes. So many long Pearson assignments. Lectures are incredibly boring and nobody pays attention.
I have ADHD, and I struggled so hard in this class because the lectures are so boring. Definitely do the extra credit. I think this class was mainly rough because the tests are hard if you struggle even a little, and he's condescending when you ask questions. I took honors anat in HS and got 99%, but I failed his stuff, so make sure to study.
He thrives off of watching you fail. His first quiz was super easy and after that the quizzes and tests were extremely difficult. Some days he's nice but others you better watch out. If you miss three classes he goes to the dean to have you dropped from the class and will try to get you dropped from the program. Ha also yells. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
He isn't too bad, and honestly, I would take him again. He gives an insane amount of homework, but gives a month to do it. He is pretty strict and yells at students for the smallest things. His lectures and slides are pretty confusing, but his tests aren't that bad. His tests are all online. His extra credit is really good, so please do it.
Exams are not based on what he sends out in his emails or his lectures. Must figure out what the exam will be about on your own. Lectures are confusing and often include material that will not be on the exams or quizzes. Doesn't care too much if you understand the material, your textbook will be your only friend. Do the extra credit, it helps.
