he was such a cool guy. likes to get angry when students are stupid its funny!
Very good professor. He is very clear and helpful. Homeworks/Tests are hard and keep you busy.. plan on spending tons of time on his class. But his notes are extremely helpful and make it easier. Makes cool computer programs that demonstrate calc concepts
i do not under any circumstance recomend this teacher. he is very unhelpfull, and appears to have no organization of notes. his homework "labs" are highly tedious and more trouble then they are worth.
Not a Very good teacher.
Paul teaches to those who want to learn. With the difficulty of material there isn't room for goofing off. I wouldn't recommend his class to those who don't WANT to learn calculus, or he does come off as tight. it cause he wants you to learn. He is a great guy and i'd take another of his classes.
He made calculus do-able. He was very approachable for extra help, and definitly put a fair amount of effort into the class.
I learned a lot in this class, but I WANTED to learn. There's no room for goofing off, but Prof. Seeburger respects you and wants to help you if you want to be helped. A common sense kind of guy. Very approachable, and he wants his students to succeed. Don't expect an easy A, though.
way too much HW but is very clear and helped me to understad how to do some types of problems that no other teacher could.
i hated him. he was rude and cocky and he only liked to help students who would see him in his office during office hours. if he called on you and you didn't know the answer he made you feel dumb.
WORST teacher ever, I'll admite i learned something from him but nothing that i couldn't have learned from the book wut a dush.
He is an amazing teacher. I wish that I could have had him for more of my classes.
Prof. Seeburger is a great teacher. don't go to his class if you're not serious about learning though. It makes it harder for the people who actually WANT to learn something. He is willing to help out immensely if you don't understand something if you actually put forth the effort to DO the assignments. I thought he was TOO nice to the slackers.
Not a good teacher at all! He knows what he's talking about, but has about as much personality as a cardboard box. He gives way more homework than is necessary and isn't clear enough in lectures. Math is already a boring topic and he makes it worse. He just seems to have no enthusiasm at all. I would not recommend him to anyone.
He was a boring Teacher and hism class was boring too. He went too fast when teaxhing and gave too many tests
Great professor but not for the slacker! Prepare to work for your grade. Very helpful person who is full of good practical advice for life.
Mr. Seeburger is such a nice teacher; I recommend him to anyone coming in as a first year and having to take 098. He is approachable, enthusiastic, and always eager to help. He has a genuine interest in making sure everyone understands the material. Never once did he discipline the class at all, nor raise his voice.
He sucked, almost everyone failed his class. he would fail u if u forgot the simplest things, doesn't matter if u had the right answer.
great teacher
Sucked. When he teaches, he does really hard or, as he puts it, "interesting" problems right off the bat so you can't grasp the concept that should be taught. If you don't go to his office hours you fail. He takes big points off for neglagible mistakes. I recall 6 points off a test for a parenthesis mistake once...
horrible. tries to cram everything into one lesson and there is no time, nor does he care to help review for the tests. he starts out with extremley hard problems and it keeps getting harder from there. kind of guy you dont wanna be in the same room alone with. wont help, because he thinks that you should already know what you are doing.horrid.
avoid at all costs
I loved him, he teached very smoothly and helped as much as possible. He was good with notes or handed them out. Alot of quizes, but was nice to get along with. Great Teacher!
Teacher not recomended, unless you understand calculus very very well and are looking to perfect your calculus. Teacher grades VERY strictly.
Fair guy. Knows his math well. Hard grader but its what makes you a better student. Recommend.
great teacher, very helpful. first math class ive actually paid attention in, and i enjoyed it. very nice guy as well.
He gave me a D and failed me on the Homework, even though i got all the answers right. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY AT ALL COST.
Gets the topics across very clearly

Very Helpful yet hard grader.. Boring class but then again I hate math.

he always kept us after class was supposed to get out and goes over things way to quickly. You dont have time to write everything down. not very clear
He was a good teacher in the sense that he told you exactly what he wanted on the tests. He asks you to do a lot of homework which isnt cool, but if you want to get an A you should do what he asks. You have to log in 10 hours in the math lab during the semester and be in class. If not, he takes points off of your grade
You cant miss one day. Worst teacher my whole time at the school. Makes you show all work and even on that takes points off. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER
Worst teacher at MCC takes points off if you miss one day. Gives an UNFAIR amount of h/w. Grades harded than any other math teacher WORST
This prof is great! He does give a lot of homework and is a little critical BUT he tells you everything he expects. Those that do poorly skip class, are late, and don't put enough effort into it. He also had very useful advice regarding other classes.
Rude- gives no credit for attempting problems, takes off points for insignificant things, it's math 104.. he grades us like we're taking math as a major, it's a requirement. Avoid his class if possible.
ok teacher has you only do problems his way or its wrong and he will take off points. gives out tons of homework
WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD!! I had an A in calculus I and II as well as Differential Equations, but a C+ with this teacher. He doesn't explain things clearly at all and the tests are a big surprise because it vaguely covers what he teaches. Take this course with Bonnie Connell or Kilner, they are MUCH better teachers.
Students spend too much time blaming their professors for their poor performance. Calc 2 is hard no matter who teaches it. He presents the material clearly, and tells you exactly what to expect on tests. He give alot of homework, and most of the time it was harder than his exams. I give him an A-
He taught his method of doing problems and the book methods. His methods were normally easier. He always waited to make sure people were caught up before he moved on. He was an awesome prof. for me!
Was an aliright teacher. Notes were not clear. Tests were graded hard. Help was there but only if you wanted to go to office hours. Didnt like his poor teaching skills.
If you want to learn multi-variable calculus, this is your guy. If you just want to learn how to pass the exam you might want to look elsewhere. Heavy workload, lots of homework, test, quizes, and most exams have a take-home component. gives a lot of bonus which can really help your grade. Can be a bit pedantic when grading.
If you do all the work he assigns you will do well in his class. He does assign a fair amount of homework but it helps learn the material. I hadn't attended college in nearly a decade and he really taught things clearly.
Calc II isn't necessarily an easy subject to understand, but he does a pretty good job explaining the material. He even takes the time to post extra videos online to help with problems. Very willing to help outside of class if you need it.
Failed his class. Terrible teacher.
He uses a Smart Board, which means he can add the lecture notes online so you can go back and review them. He has also started to record his lectures with audio and video from the smart board allowing you to go back and visit with the lectures. He is very concerned about his students learning the material, and is willing to help.
Professor Seeburger is a great mathmatician, with little patience for teaching.
completely lost in his class and gives a LOT of homework! would not recommend him
Has very high expectations of his students. If you don't have a lot of extra time to do hw then avoid this professor. He is very intelligent, but his social and teaching skills are lacking.
I think he's a great professor, but I take school seriously. People expect to be spoonfed a quick fix to not understanding math and they're looking for the holy grail. He may have high expectations, but he does more for you than most other math professors I've had. You have to do your part. I thought he was extremely helpful in office hours.
Hes a great teacher. Really made me start to care about math and im always able to ask him questions. Ive never had such a good math grade!
He's a really nice guy, and he's always willing to help, but he gives an overwhelming amount of work. Unless you are good at math or like to do math, I wouldn't recommend him.
Gives loads of work, and a lot of the homework was far more difficult than anything I saw on any test. However, he got me to understand anything I had trouble with. Best of all, if you miss class or are confused on a topic, you can use the Mdrive to re-watch any of the semester's lectures. He's also very nice and genuinely cares for his students
The class is hard, yes. However, Prof. Seeburger does try his best with you to make you understand the work, and not just find an answer. For those who failed, did you put all your effort forward, or did you expect to be spoon fed. Yes the class req. a lot of hard work, but it is college the work should be expected. Otherwise you didnt seek out help
I loved math. Everyone told me calc 2 was the hardest and it was my favorite math class to date. So I was pretty excited for calc 3. Now I just end up mad every time I go to class or do homework. Seeburger might be good at math, but he takes all the joy out of it for me.
Here's the thing with prof seeburger, he wants you to see the structure behind the topic discussed. He know's you're just pining for the algorithm and he refuses to give it to you because it's been a crutch during your math career. Yes he gives a lot of homework, but you'll come away with a strong foundation for future classes.
Does not explain things well, gives an overwhelming amount of homework to where you have no time. He also has a distracting speech pattern while constantly smacking his lips. Very distracting
If you don't write things down on hw and test EXACTLY like he does in his notes. You will not pass. If you like doing 16 hw assignments a night take his class. He tries to be an MIT professor. I had him as an in class professor and the class was pretty much an online course so. Avoid at all costs. Plus he always keeps the class late.
Really great experience taking Calculus III with Prof. Seeburger. Yes, he assigns a decent amount of homework, but I don't think you can do well in this subject without practice. His grading is fair and helpful, he's very clear, and if you put in the effort you'll do well. He's always working to improve the class and really wants you to succeed.
Overwhelming amount of work. I had to continue in this class because I'm graduating at RIT and need this to graduate. Do not take his class. I had to drop one of my classes at RIT just to accommodate his insane homework schedule. I like practice and homework, but this is just impossible. It's not the material, it's the teacher.
Seeburger knows the material, and he presents the material well when he's not hurried in a great fashion. However, he is a harsh grader, taking points off for notation. He also buries students with homework. Did I learn from the man? Yes, a lot. However, did I resent his class at times? Yes.
I'm drowning in his summer online class. Daily hw takes me 5+hrs and there is no time to learn the material, while struggling with Webwork. Lecture videos are unnecessarily long, since they are recordings of him in class. It's week one and I have spent every day on math, with only meal breaks (not exaggerating). His class is really frustrating!
I have never had a professor give out as much work as him. When asked questions in class, you have a 50/50 chance of him actually answering the question. He's also the harshest grader I've had. If you don't like doing homework and don't like being stressed out, then don't take a class with him.
I took the online version of this class. There is a large amount of material Prof. Seeberger covers in this class. If you procrastinate this class is not for you. I felt lectures were sometimes vague. I was unable to have an outside resource for help, which made it more difficult for me. Tests were very fair. Notation matters.
Prof. Seeburger was not a favorite professor of mine. he gives out a ton of HW, written and online. It probably helped, but i felt overwhelmed at times. He also struggled to present the material in a logical, easy to understand way. The only reason I got an A in the class is because the class was actually pretty easy to learn and understand alone.
If your math210 is A, take a course from him. He is good.
I had Seeburger for calc 3 and DiffEQ online. He gives out a lot of graded homework but doesnt grade the written assignments too harshly. He mostly nickel and dimes you for notation and other errors. Tests are easier and gives out a lot of bonus points. (10-15/test) Ive thoroghly enjoyed taking these classes and have taken away a lot from them!
Gives an overwhelming amount of homework. So much that you can't really sit down and do well or you won't finish. Many of the problems that are on tests and quizzes aren't related to what was done in class.
If you take differential equations online during the summer.. GOOD LUCK! Sooooo much homework, written and online. One of the toughest graders. Hes a really nice guy and posts good lectures and notes, but its so hard to watch all them and take the notes because of all the homework. Get ready to work everyday for hours.
I took this class during summer as a six week course. The workload was heavy, and the material was challenging. I liked that Professor Seeburger was aware of his students needs and allowed for flexibility in due dates. He also provided helpful feedback on work, and was very good at answering questions promptly. His lectures were very informative.
I took Prof Seeburger's summer online class for my differential equations credit and it was phenomenal. He was very thorough in his lectures, and always provided supplemental readings and practice problems. He always responded promptly to my emails when I needed help and he was willing to go on Zoom calls with me for more help. Highly recommend !!!
Professor Seeburger is a very decent man. He grades fairly and gives a lot of opportunities for bonus points and extra credit. Although I am not sure how well he does in person, it is online where he really shines. His videos are clear and concise although I would appreciate that he more clearly stated what he wants you to use and what he doesn't.
I am not 100% sure if it was due to COVID but I couldn't understand the material at all. Goes way too fast with material and the amount of homework is ridiculous. Talks in a monotone voice so it feels like class is dragging on forever and ever. Wouldnt recommend
I took the online DiffEq over the summer (don't recommend - way too fast!), and yes there was a lot of homework, and yes the class was definitely the hardest thing I have ever taken, but this is DiffEq, after all! There were two online textbooks that Prof. Seeburger recommended, but his lectures were fantastic and more than enough to get by with.
I really struggled with Calc1 so I was worried about moving on to calc2. Professor Seeburger changed my outlook on math tbh. He is an amazing teacher, He answers emails promptly, gives back work with LOTs of feedback. He is strict with grading, but he gives lots of partial and bonus credit. And he is more than happy to answer questions in class
Having open-book tests from Wagner in calc I, I was worried going into my first exam for calc II, but was surprised at how well Seeburger had prepared us. He gives a LOT of homework but this helps develop a full understanding of the material. As an engineering major, I feel better prepared by Seeburger for future math courses.
A creative teacher who cares a lot about the subject. He grades with a lot of detail and is responsive to email etc. He teaches out of an open-source textbook and creates online applications to help you see and touch the relationships in calc 3, which is critical to passing this course. If you use his materials and study, you'll pass with no issue.
The online class for Differential Equations was set up well. Instructions given were very clear. The class is hard but sticking to the initial advice of at least 16 hours per week and completing required work kept me cruising along. Bonus points in exams are a plus. I would definately take another of his classes.
I took both DiffyQs and Multivariable Calculus with Professor Seeburger, and both classes were a joy. Both courses required effort to be put in, watching the lectures and doing homework ahead of time. Seeburger gave lots of great online resources and was always available to help answer questions. Be ready for content-rich tests.
Stuff hidden on the calendar that wouldn't appear until you'd completed something else, had to cancel plans a few times when I'd check the class and discover something due that evening. Assignments due multiple nights per week was annoying, the exam was extensive and exhaustive. No thank you.
Prof. Seeburger is a great guy who does care about his students. However, the coursework that he gives can be quite overwhelming, with multiple online assignments as well as paper assignments due each week. Doing the work does get you prepared for the exams and you will LEARN from his class. Overall, good Professor.
Prof. Seeburger is an amazing guy, great teacher as well, however; he gives a TON of homework, a lot of online assignments as well as paper ones handed out during the week. Gives pretty good due dates, but it will be a lot for you especially if you're a full time student. Test prep models actual exams. Make sure to keep up with work. Overall, 3.5/5
Although he is friendly, communicative, moderately helpful via email, I would not take another class with him. All of his submitted coursework is challenging, especially with online it was a chore. also his tests were extensive and exhaustive, covering every minute detail of calculus III. I dropped his course after this first exam.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS very condescending, talks down to you, works at mcc but thinks he is teaching at harvard, talks down to you DO NOT TAKE
Professor Seeburger is the worst professor I've had at MCC. Try to avoid having him, if you can. He assigns an insane amount of homework and his tests are the most intensive I've ever had. He is an extremely tough grader and shows little mercy on you throughout the course. Be prepared for long, monotonous videos, 3 hour tests, and endless homework.
If you take a class online with Professor Seeburger, be ready for a lot of work. He gets a lot of negativity for how much he assigns, but I have found I solidly learn concepts in his class instead of how to do the problem. If you value this, take any class with him you can! If you're easily overwhelmed by work or are super busy, probably don't.
Be prepared to do a lot of homework throughout the semester. There was a total of nearly 30 online homework assignments, of varied lengths but usually higher than 25 questions. His teaching styles however are very effective, and will make sure you have complete understanding if you ask. Lots of extra credit opportunities on each test.
Seeburger's grading is all over the place, taking off points for incredibly minute details and randomly giving bonus points as well. He assigns an excruciating amount of homework, where I'd spend more time and his homework than all my other classes. Although, he does give a lot of extra credit opportunities and sources that cover the material.
Way too harsh on grading. Genuinely the most insane class I've ever taken. He will take points off for the littlest things. The workload is a lot but doable but dont try to do anything else this summer. Exams are 3 hours long and they will cover every single thing you have ever learned.
I get that it is a summer class and it's supposed to be intensive but this was insane. I had to spend more than 4 hours a day doing just the homework he assigned which wasn't even part of studying for the 3 hour exams. He does care and if you try you will pass. Did let retake for an exam tho, came in clutch
He grades on how he likes a person
His gradings are terrible. I regret taking calc with him. Never scared of math before until I met him!
