Awesome freakin teacher. If u follow directions and do your work which is not hard at all you will def get an A in his class. Smart man knows his material and teaches it very well. Funny guy, cracks jokes. I had him at night and the time flew by. :)

He is an awesome teacher, he really knows what he is talking about. I have learned a lot in that class, and have noticed that he has helped others in their areas that where needed. I would take him any day for any class. Makes class fun also which is an A in my book!

My first semester at Bergen & he was one of the best Professors. He's funny, cool, and always crack jokes. Everyone is always laughing and he's also a easy grader. I would take him again if I had the chance. He's a great Professor!!!

very cool guy. he is funny when he picks on a group of people in the back. tests are really easy and the he is very lieant on the speeches. you dont need to buy his book because we never used it. make sure you take notes tho.really friendly and funny. highly recommended. o yea he hates bush..

I loved professor Shenkler, he is a great professor and made public speaking fun.

Can't say enough good things about the guy. Had him last summer and he made it fun. He has a lot of experiences and shares with you. He cracks alot of jokes, is funny when picking on someone - but does not offend them - you even laugh at yourself. He is great! Take him - you won't regret it. Wish I could have him again...

Awesome guy!!! He made dry material very interesting... he made the whole class laugh the entire semester... it was the best class i had this semester... we only had one written test, 3 speeches, and he didn't give us a final. I would recommend taking this guy to everyone since everyone is stuck having to take this class... GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!

i wish i could take all of my classes with this professor, i really enjoyed his class and was very sorry that it finish thing that never happen with any of my other classes:)

Professor Shenkler is great. I was saving this course for last, because I was afraid of speaking in front of an audience; however, after taking this course I feel a lot more confident. I recommend this professor for anyone who is afraid of public speaking.He is very helpful. Great Professor!

prof shenkler is one of the BEST prof's. he's soo funny and if u need help he's always willing to stay after and help u understand the assignment. i would highly recommend this teacher to anyone taking communication classes. i hope i will have him for my future classes.

Professor Shenkler is the coolest Professor I've ever taken. He's really fun and cares a great deal for his students. He's very willing to help and listen, plus he makes class tons of fun. For Writing for Mass Media, be ready to write a lot of articles for h/w...but if you're a writer, you've got an easy A. I actually wanted to go to class.

this guy is awesome. he's got a million stories about how he played minor league baseball, works for various television stations, does radio and so one. all around expert in media. he's got a great sense of humor and the work is easy especially if you plan to write for a career. I always wanted to come to class

Just finished his night class in the summer, i loved everything about it, very cool, realizes that students are scared of giving speeches, does everything to help you overcome that.. easy going, easy grader, good story teller, well he is the man, i loved going to class and giving speeches about breastfeeding :) thanx for for everything professor (:

great comm professor. very laid back and understanding. theres a midterm and final project and few short essay questions to hand in before the semester ends. he does take attendance daily.

Simply a Magnificent class, very simple and easy going. The class has 3 speeches which are very interesting as we can choose our own topics. The professor really knows what he's talking about and shares several personal experiences he has had over the years. Be warned that he hates cheese and cellphones.

really good professor. he knows his subjet, and apply his experience in the field on it, that is very important. the best of the class he let you choose the topic you want to talk about, that is helpful and makes the class more interesting for those who just take it as a requirement. Great class.

Great Professor and is pretty funny. Unless you're an asian that never speaks english, take him. I had him at 11Am and still wanted to go on a friday. easy/fun speeches and good stories. talks a lot about himself and it's almost hard not to talk and get involved in the useless/useful convo's

His class is a joke, he barely teaches he just talks about whats going on in the world and makes for of us for texting. he only gives 1 test and one project, all the other stuff is just class participation. he also gives you extra credit if you fail the test, which is super easy.

This class was easy as pie! Don't sweat yourself if you hate talking in front of class. He grades extremely graciously. Just come to class and do the work (which barely takes your time). Don't buy the textbook, just photocopy from the library, it was around $5-$7 to photocopy the chapters I needed

He Is one of the best Professor i have ever had funny as hell. However you he will rip on you, but he is funny about it. Take the class in the winter cause it's 3 weeks of laughter and good stories.

I took this class as a winter session, and her did not require that you purchase the textbook (a PLUS in my opinion). Just be polite and pay attention and you should do fine! He grades Very graciously!! He has a uniques sense of humor, but definitely worth taking! Especially as a winter term class!

he's a good professor. Personally, I don't like him but he is a good teacher. A bit of a smart alec sometimes but he gets his point across. Take this class if you want to actually learn something.

Prof. Shenkler is very easy to deal with and also has a sense of humor.

can be mean sometimes, hes picky and ul hear alot of critics, but he's fun and very energetic. u'll learn alot. and I like the way he teaches, very natural. and I like his assignments, challenging. in terms of exams, his wording is confusing but anywy u guys will survive and enjoy the class lol

Professor Shenkler is such a character, in a good way. He's very clear and will tell you "you should write this down" or in other words this is on your exam. His humor can come off as kind of harsh and he loves to joke and tell stories. HIGHLY RECOMMEND his classes. Show that you are working hard, a little effort and you will get a good grade

Don't buy the book. It's basically in class discussions. Take down notes because he gives very FEW assignments, which is great ! He is an enjoyable professor. Makes you look forward to going to class at 8 in the morning ! No problems.

He is literally the easiest and funniest professor I've had in the past two years. I loved this class. He teaches at WillyP, and Montclair also. Has a lot of experience in the communications field. Very helpful and understanding. Two tests that were 30 questions, 3 speeches. The only person without an A in the class, never came! HIGHLY recommened.

Shenkler works at BCC & WillyP but I had the chance to have him at MSU. HONESTLY I love him. He is adorable. He gives you a syllabus as to what the class will consists of on day one; he goes over it all but you barley read the book. HE TEACHES YOU WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW FOR THE INDUSTRY. I'll miss him a lot. he was great. funny too.

I took this class one day a week and it was supposed to be 3 hours..it never was. He covered everything important about speech and the speeches we had to do were soo easy. He really did make me feel very comfortable being in front of the class. We only had one test. We gave 3 speeches. We only had 1 assignment, which was so simple. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Seems like a tough guy at first, but he's really nice. He's funny (although he repeats a lot of his jokes). Make an effort and you'll pass with flying colors, especially if you're on his good side. 3 speeches, one of which is a group one, two outlines, and one homework

Shenkler was hands down the best professor I've ever had here at Bergen, I was so nervous to take this class and I'm so glad I registered for this one! Only 3 speeches one of them being a group speech, there's never any homework I think we had one assignment. Class was almost 3 hours long but he never kept us the entire class.

Took him over the winter and I actually miss the class. Kind, funny, and an easy grader. He made it a comfortable environment and that helped a lot with my anxiety. 3 speeches (1 group) and no textbook. Highly recommended

You basically just need to try. He knows that no one wants to be in this class and he lets you out early a lot. He gives you a lot of time in class to prepare your speeches and hes funny most of the time especially when he tells the same story over and over. Dont give him excuses and dont disrespect him and youll do fine.

Easy A. Just do your speeches and make it look like you tried and you'll be fine. Not a lot of learning tho tbh but he's pretty cool

This professor is very clear in his lectures, ask questions when you do not understand, skip class and you will not pass the course.

This instructor does not grade how well you do your speeches, he grades you on the effort you put into each speech.

Professor shenkler is super understanding and kind he is very inviting and doesnt make u feel intimidating like some professors his class is a joy to take and I recommend anyone to take his communications class
