Dr. Spellman knows his material so well that he puts a few notes on the board, and then fills in the blanks as he lectures.He covers a lot of material during class time that is much easier to understand than if you just read the book. I learned so much in this class. You really need to attend each class, and be prepared to take a lot of notes.

He is the best teacher i have had. He is good at what he does Just copy the board outline, fill it in as he teaches and if u can record him, even better. He makes history interesting! Dr. Spellman is the BEST history teacher I have ever had! I had his class at 9 in the morning (which is really early for me) and I used to wake up just to go to his class. His tests are all essay and matching, but if you go to the class you will be fine. He also does not teach from the book either. Take him!!! You will love history afterwards!!!

He is the best history professor! I have never liked history but he made it very interesting! We had 3 tests, a paper, and final. He gives you a review for every test. In class, he has one slide up with main points and you have to take your own notes. Tests are mainly short answer and an essay but its not hard and he grades pretty easy. RECOMMEND!

I thought it would be the worst thing every but this professor is so amazing I can't even describe. You don't need a book. Record his lectures if you can. Took Professor Spellman for the 2014 May Mini. Good teacher! He makes history interesting! We listened to his lectures and took notes. If I wasn't sure about something, he was very helpful in answering any questions after class. I studied the night before and passed every test with a B.

Took his class during the May-mini term, which consisted of four (written not MC) exams including a non cumulative final, 25% each. He teaches it like it is, telling every event in history like a story. Just pay attention, write it down and you'll do fine. He let us start late and leave early - 4.5 hour 8AM class became 2.5 hrs. Dr. Spellman is an amazing professor, he loves his job and his lectures are clear and very interesting. Only 4 test which is very easy but make sure to take notes during the lecture, highly recommend him as a history teacher!

I promise you that Dr. Spellman is such an amazing professor. He really puts his all in what he does. Ive always struggled with history in the past because of the lack of energy my teachers gave off; however, Dr. Spellman made history such a fun class! Thank you Dr. Spellman!

The nicest person I have ever met, genuinely cares for his students and is just a heartwarming person. His lectures really make you want to learn and hes just amazing and all his tests are easy you just have to listen to his lectures which are so easy to follow no extra homework or anything everything is organized. I took Mr. Spellman Summer 1 and Summer 2 for US History 1 and 2 and his class was the easiest and most fun class ever. i loved his lectures. Watch the lectures for sure, take notes and take the test. Its a straight forward and a super easy A class. I would definitely take him again ! Loved his class!!!

Amazing professor omg. All of a sudden, history was my favorite subject! He doesn't use the textbook, his lectures are all at his pace and his tests are based off of his own words so just make sure you show up everyday for lectures and pay attention. His lecture style makes it easy to follow along, easy to remember, and keeps you interested.

He is the best professor to take for History 1 and 2. I took him for both &received an easy A. He makes learning history fun and memorable. Always go to class because his lectures are off key points on the board but mainly speaking on the topics. You do not need a book everything that is on the test is said in class. RECORD LECTURES! NO POWERPOINTS

Professor Spellman is the best! He made the class interesting and simple! If you just attend class and take notes from his PowerPoint slides, you'll get an easy A. Textbook is not needed, because everything is based off his lectures, and the reviews cover everything on the test.

I took Dr. Spellman for Hist 1301/1302 I'm not very good at history it's always boring for me but he made me LOVEEEEE ITTT I like how he does his own lectures like a "story time" you do not need to worry about a textbook or him reading over powerpoints. You must attend class in order for you to do well, his class is very easy TAKE HIMM !!

Prof. Spellman is an awesome instructor. I think that his lectures are so good because in his 1302 class, he actually lived through some of the events he lectures about. He grades pretty fairly on his tests, either you know it or you don't. 100% would take another one of his classes.

Hands down one of my favorite professors. He's great at setting out the lecture and explaining. A very easy grader and such a sweet teacher.

Spellman is the best professor at Wharton County Jr. College. His teaching style is very straightforward, one slide of notes, and instead of a lecture its like hearing a story about what happened. I only had one class with him this past semester, but I just scheduled 2 more because of how great of a professor he is.

Dr. Spellman is a great teacher if you dont like history then take his class! I never liked history but his lectures are like a story which are on youtube and about 45 min long 2 videos a month to watch then an exam, no hw, he gives you notes you can just take detailed notes, and he gives you a review page what is gonna be on the test. EASY A!

Professor Spellman had very laid back lectures and is very easy to retain information. I am bad at History (in general), but being in his class and the way he teaches is just amazing.

This is the best WCJC professor ever! Nothing bad to say about Dr. Spellman. He has some bullet points on his power points over what he going to lecture over that day, but I def recommend you taking a lot of additional notes. He is such an easy grader and has the chillest class ever! HE IS THE BEST!

Best professor at WCJC. His lectures are the most understanding and he tells the class like one big story. He always has his students engaged and gives a review before the test saying what is going to be on it. Definitely will be taking him for History 1302.

Professor Spellman is the best one at wcjc!!!! He is kind and he respects all his students and just wants them to do good. He is very passionate about his teaching and his lectures are simple. He only uses one slide and explains the topics in a story. To some, this may be boring, but history was fun and easy because of professor Spellman. Take him!

Dr Spellman is the best history teacher you could ask for! He's the first history teacher I've had that kept me enticed every lecture. His class is an easy A+ just go to his lectures, write down his notes. There are no minor grades, three exams, one final, and a paper. The test material is the exact same as his lectures. Kind & respectful!

US History should never be boring, and heavy workload. Spellman is the complete opposite of that.

Spellman's US History classes are a refreshing break from boring coursework. With engaging lectures, clear exam prep, and a chill vibe, his classes are a must-take. Definitely use Unstuck study alongside the textbook for study prep.

Dr. Spellman is the best!! His classes are early! Overall, very easy, he also makes his lectures interesting, and he reviews the exams the day or 2 days before the actual exam. All your notes are basically your exam reviews, make sure to write all your notes down. Your only grades are the exams, so make sure to STUDY.

Very intriguing lectures, he teaches history like he's telling you a story. Felt like I was listening to an audio book or a podcast. He'll let you know what to study for the exam the day before. He's very nice and easy to talk to. Overall, great energy and great professor. 10/10 would recommend.

He's honestly one of the best teachers i have had. for someone that has never liked history or understood it. His lectures are like if he's telling a story. l recommend his class for anyone that has or hasn't liked history.
