Excellent professor! He is hilarious. The class requires you to do alot of reading(I took it in the summer), but he goes over everything well and he gives extra credit. The book is very easy to follow(understand).

Dr. Thoreck is a really great teacher. I took him over the summer and even though the class is long he made it entertaining and educational. I learned alot in his class. I plan on taking more of his classes.

I really enjoy Dr. Thoreck's stress mgmt class. Meditating is a way he shows you of dealing with stress, although you can choose to just sit there and not participate, I enjoy this time to relax. If you think this teacher is hard, take Urbina!!

Excellent prof! He is VERY interested in the subject matter and conveys this to his students. He's very helpful and the tests aren't too bad if you study. I am definitely taking another of his classes next semester and highly recommend this one as well!

Very knowledgeable on the subject matter and conveys the information through entertaining class lectures and actual practice of the methods being discussed. Read the book as some test questions are not covered in lectures. Fun class, fun guy, highly recommended. :)

This guy is awesome! Very entertaining lectures & is explicit about what to expect. By no means an easy class, you will have to read the book & pay attention in lectures but he gives every opportunity for a student to succeed.

Great Professor. Very clear, very explcit instructions, wants to help if you even need it, but since everything is so straight forward and simple no real need to ask. 3 tests and a comp. final and a class presentation. Extra credit given as well and one of the best in the psych. department. A++++

Thoreck is the best professor I have had at UNF! He is very engaging, "defines his constructs" very clearly, and it's very easy to get an A if you pay attention and read. He's more concerned with his students coming away from his class with knowledge than with testing for minute details, which is refreshing!

Great professor I have nothing bad to say and if anyone fails his class your are an idiot. He will even let u debate the questions on the test if any of them are unfair. Take advantage of this! On top of that there were lots of extra credit oppurtunities and his class I thought was extremely easy. Just read the book and you'll do fine!

This is my senior year at UNF and Thoreck is probably my favorite teacher so far! He is just an absolute breath of fresh air. He makes the class extremely interesting and gives you a great deal of extra credit opportunities. You'd be a fool not to take him!

Best professor at UNF EASILY. I had him for behavior modification and will be taking him again at every chance possible. Class is interesting and fun, but you do have to do a lot of readings to get As on the exams. He also allows gives extra credit and grades very fairly. Take him!

Fun class to be in. 4 exams, 1 final and a group presentation. He's a funny guy. Class time is fun but gets somewhat off topic of what you will be tested on. Some test questions tricky, but after each test he let's you debate if the question was tricky or not and you can end up recieving credit for it.

TAKE THIS TEACHER! Had him for stress mgmt, soooo fun. He's a great guy and is very helpful. Has a group presentation but it's not a difficult project. I'll take him for everything he teaches.

This class was easy - he takes attendance but only 4 test (and he drops the lowest) and 1 group project. He is really easy-going.

Dr. Thoreck is very nice. He is flexible and pretty understanding. He is an adjunct so it is sometimes hard to get him any way other than email or phone, but he is willing to go out of his way when you do get in touch with him. Take him and you won't regret it!

Awesome professor. He makes the class interesting. Lots of useful material for success in everyday life. Tests are based on what is taught in class and in the book. He throws out high miss questions. He also gives enough extra credit opportunities so anyone can get an A.

Great Teacher- Friendly, Helpful and Fun

I thought he was very intelligent in psychology. He is very laid back. Dresses casually. Post test reviews help A LOT! Allows students to debate answers for points. OFfers extra credit. Would def take again and recommend to others! Had him for 3 1/2 hour summer class and rarely fely bored. Loved his class and learned a lot

He was alright, he's a super hippy and was super happy which at 7:30 pm was a lot to handle for a morning person like me, but he gives a TON of extra credit, drops your lowest of the first three exam grades, gives post exam reveiws where u can argue your answer to get the point back and did I tell you he gives a TON of extra credit???

Great lecturer. Dr. Thoreck wants everyone in the class to do well. He offers plenty of extra credit opportunities and adjusts test scores if the majority of students miss a question. There's no reason for you not to get an A with a moderate amount of effort.

Fun and nice guy. Knows his stuff. Teaches off Powerpoints and shows videos. TAKE NOTES. Book is used but not mandatory. 3 tests and a Final. Drops the lowest test grade. Lots of extra credit. I enjoyed his class. Recommended.

Awesome professor! Very intelligent, ridiculously extensive vocabulary, & is very knowledgeable of the material. Yes, 3 exams (lowest one dropped) & a cumulative final exam. You must study for these. The day after exam you're given a "postexam review" where you're given the chance to debate your grade. Seriously the best! Couldn't be more fair!

Thoreck is an awesome professor and I highly recommend him. I took him for Social Psychology, and am glad I did... he's fun and interesting to listen to and very laid back. Although he takes attendance, I never minded going to his class. The notes he gives are STRAIGHT from the book, so all you need to do is highlight. EASY and INTERESTING

Professor Thoreck is an awesome professor, Very Knowledgeable and Very Helpful and Ready to Assist when needed. The course was very easy ,but i learned plenty.

I had him for SOP3004 and I really enjoyed his class. If you attend every class you receive extra credit. His exams aren't too difficult if you study your notes. I really like how he does a post exam review, he allows you to argue your points on why you chose the answer you did and sometimes gives credit for your wrong answers.

Highly recommend Dr Thoreck! Three tests, lowest one dropped, and one cumulative final exam. Gives extensive review of final. Also extra credit opportunity available, though not really necessary. As a non-psychology major, this course was the right mix of not-too-hard, not-too-easy. Put in a little effort, and you're sure to make an A.

I loved Professor Thoreck! One of my favorite classes. He highlights what is important in the book in lecture, but still learn a lot. He opened my eyes and put things in a new perspective. Very knowledgeable. If I can, I will definitely take another one of his classes

Thoreck was awesome! He gives you all the information you need to pass the tests. You just have to do some extra studying outside of class. You use the book a lot, but it isn't too expensive. He's willing to help you if you're having issues in the class also. He was awesome! I would take him again!

Dr. Thoreck is an AMAZING professor! He definitely knows his stuff. Attendance isn't mandatory but you get EC at the end if you come to every class. He offers a lot of EC. And tells you exactly what to highlight in the book. If you come to every class and do a bit more reading you will have no problem with this class. TAKE HIM!!!

Very logical and engaging teacher

Took this class during the summer, 6 weeks of intense learning, went through nine chapters. Thoreck told us exactly what to highlight with additional notes (not that many) and that what was basically on the exams. The final was a compilation of the other three exams (50 questions), and he took the same questions from those exams. Really simple.

Very helpful. Materials wasn't easy for me as I had not taken experimental courses yet. However, he helped me. He brings his experience from outside the classroom to help understand concepts. He goes thru the book and explains everything you need and tells you what to highlight. I definitely recommend him!

Professor Thoreck is a great professor. His style is a bit different than I've taken from my 4 years at UNF. He tends to ramble, but has loads of personal experience with the subject. Sees students as equals and is very open to disagreements. He uses the whole class time, so I wouldn't recommend him for a night class. Get the book.

Evening classes were from 6-8:45 and we got out at early, class never went to the full time. The tests are all about learning. He tells you what is on the test, but interpreting what he means in a question is the hardest part of the test. He understands not everyone does well on tests,he wants to sees you are making efforts to do well and learn.

I'm not a history person but Dr. T made it interesting & easy to learn. Everything on tests are straight from the book, bring book to class, he tells you to highlight EXACTLY what you need to know for exams. Two exams, midterm & final (final isn't cumulative). Group Project. Extra credit available. Attendance not mandatory, but go if u want 2 pass!

Dr. Thoreck is very clear on what you need to study to get the grade you want. Come to class and look over the book before the exams, easy A. He gives a lot of in-class extra credit which will boost your grade a ton if you participate. Not a hard subject at all and Dr. Thoreck gives great examples from past careers to help you understand concepts.

Go to class... Underline what he tells you to. Pay attention to what is going on and answer the questions he gives you for extra credit. That simple. Such a great knowledgeable professor. Behavior mod was definitely one of my favorite classes of college because of this Professor.

Dr. T is one of my favorite professors. So laid back and , more than willing to help his students. His tests are difficult, even though they come straight from the text book, can be a bit tricky sometimes. But he lets you challenge him on marking you wrong, and if you provide good supporting documentation he will give you pts back for the question.

Amazing lectures, passionate about the material. Textbook is a must. You will definitely have to study for these tests, there is a lot of material, flashcards recommended. 2 tests and group project which is presentation in front of class. extra credit opportunities 10 page concept paper or 5 min personal presentation. I took Dr. T for History of Psychology and Learning Theory, and he teaches both the exact same. Show up, he counts attendance, and highlight in the book everything he says. He will tell you exactly what is on the exams. There are also extra credit opportunities! Very easy classes to pass.

Need the book. Tells you everything you need to know for the test in class. A lot of material, you will have to study. Plenty of chances for extra credit. Very knowledgeable and able to apply lecture material to the real world. Lectures can be long, but are interesting. Goes over the test and lets you defend your answers. Tests are only grades.

Thoreck made Learning Theory fun; fav class this semester & I'm taking him again for EAB4703! Buy the book, record lectures, & read notes weekly! He asks extra credit ?s from the prev/current lecture readings. The only grades are attendance & 3 exams- 1 dropped & final. Highlight & write what he reads; topics he expands on will be on the exam.

Easily my favorite professor so far. If you are a psych major DEFINITELY take his class. Very smart and explains things very well, funny, and makes class interesting! Also very laid back and allows for open discussion. Has had experience in applied psych both clinically and industrially, he knows his stuff. Can get off topic, but great otherwise!

Textbook is a must, prof directs you through it in class. Lectures are so engaging I didn't feel like I was in class. If you liked learning theory, this class will be a breeze. Gives great examples from the real world and very passionate. Graded on few things: 3 tests dropping lowest plus a final. Many opportunities for extra credit.

An amazing teacher that cares and will do his best to make sure you know the important things that will be on the test. He goes over every test so you know where you stand grade wise.

Amazing! Hes very down-to-earth and hilarious! He prepares you well for his tests (everything is highlighted in the book so the book is a MUST). Reviews the test after and gives you an opportunity to change his mind about an answer. Only small issue is that sometimes questions on his tests are unclear as to what hes asking. Hes a gem!
