He knows what he's doing, but his hand writing is hard to follow. He goes over the homework problems in class, and the quizzes and tests are fair.
He just talks, and talks, his writing is crap. Makes you fall asleep! Avoid if possible
Nice Guy. Still nervous tho. Quizzes are not tough (2/5 were take home!) and tests arent either. He grades fairly. If you do the homework problems, take some notes, and look over both before tests and quizzes, they are usually just like assigned probs.
As a first year teacher, he wasn't that bad. He talks a lot and his handwriting sucks. Quizes are fairly easy and the tests were fine, unless you didn't study. Knows a lot about accounting.
his main downfall was being new. He seemed uncomfortable, yu can bearly understand him sometimes, and he ussually just does the problme on the board with his back to you the entire time. But he did show some improvement.
first year... got better as the year went by... Do urself a favor and take Swanson

spends good time in class with homework and important notes. goes at a good pace. homework gets to stuff you need to know, and not random crap. tests and homework coincide great. good teacher.
He knows what he's talking about but he doesn't really tell you what's going to be on the tests. He spends a lot of time in class going over the homework which is nice.
Took Accounting in H.S., currently getting a 'D' in the class. His lectures are boring as hell. Can't read his hand writing either, he abbreviates everything he writes. Doesn't seem like a bad guy though.
took acctg in H.S. He knows what he is talking about. The class is completely doable if you do your homework. Tests and quizzes are not bad
I didnt understand a damn thing he said. I was an ATG major until I had him. He knows what he is talking about, but cant convey it to students. Hes a difficult grader, and the tests are hard. Hes very nice, but has bad teaching skills
He's a good guy; has trouble trying to express what he's saying, which means confusiion for the class. His tests aren't bad, though this last one was murder. Nothing in the unit prepared us for this monster. I took acct 2 years in h.s., and I flunked this third exam. He's so so. If you take, beware
He's not very clear on things, but he is overall a good teacher. Just understand the book and you'll do fine on the tests. I got B's with no problems.
I had to drop this class because I was getting a 'D'. He's a nice guy but his lectures are to boring to comprehend anything. I'll probably take someone else in the future.
He's an okay teacher. He really knows what he's talking about, but sometimes he's hard to follow. You have to keep up with the homework and study. If you do that, you'll probably get a B. He did spend a lot of time going over homework, which really helped. He's a good guy.
Do the homework and you should have no trouble. He will throw a curve ball on a test but they are not too bad overall. Nice guy that knows what he is talking about.
The material isn't that hard, but he doesn't always do the best job explaining it and tends to rush through things sometimes. Class can get boring, but if you do the homework and reading then it makes the tests and quizes easier.
knows a lot about accounting but can't teach it to the students. 3 test and they're hard. you gotta study. had him for atg157 got a B in the class, but i'm gettin a C in this one. goes over hw, so make sure you do it. drops lowest quiz grade. takes attendance even though he doesn't tell you.
He knows a lot aboout Accouting.
Not a bad guy but just goes over poitns in teh book during class. Just do the homework and get a tutor and you'll survive with a B or C, my suggestion is take another prof.
ignore neg comments... This class is not hard. If you have trouble in it it's your own fault. Very simple concepts and everything you need to know for tests and quizzes is gone over exhaustively in class. If you have a pulse and give minimal effort you should get an A.
Great guy personally. People **** and moan. Just go to class, and do the homework; you'll get an A. All exams are based right off the homework, he doesn't play mind games and put stuff on it that he didn't cover. People need to stop expecting handouts. Do hmwk and study it before the test and do gd
He's not a very good teacher, and he just presents the answers to the homework with out an explanation. I'm probably going to end up with a C, but if there weren't his lame vocab questions on his tests, I'd walk away with an A.
I recommend a different teacher for this course. Goes over homework very fast & says tests are based on homework but somehow he ALWAYS throws curveballs that screw you over. Hes a nazi when it comes to grading & is stingy on giving points. made us do a big time consuming wall street journal paper.
Wayvon used to be an accountant for a business, so he really knows accounting very well. However, when it comes to teaching, he's not a very good teacher. Goes pretty quick, and doesn't always realize that most people have never taken accounting before. My advice would be Take Another Professor.
Not a bad teacher, quizzes were easy and tests weren't bad if you did the homework. Grading system was bad, doesn't tell you what you got wrong and sometimes will require answers he doesn't ask for.
Nice guy. Half of the section dropped but it is a pretty easy class if you stick with the homework. The hardest thing is to keep up. I would say take this class 2 days per week, not three. He even let me turn in the only project of the semester an hour late after I didn't show up for class.
Can he change the tone of his voice? ew way to put a person to sleep
If you've taken accounting before, this class will be fairly easy for you. If not, it's going to be tougher, but it's still possible to do well. I think he explains things pretty well and all the problems we do in class really help. After all I've heard about other professors I'm definitly taking Wayvon for the rest of my accounting classes.
He knows what hes talking about, easy class if you keep up with the homework, take the 2 day a week class, lots of ppl dropped, but hes more than willing to work with you. I liked him as a teacher and am taking him for 158 next semester
He's very good. He explains things well and goes over everything in class. Do your homework and take notes over the material the day BEFORE he talks about it so you're prepared. If you need help he will help you. Very fair grader. The class was sort of boring but he was very good. I'm taking him again next semester for ATG 158. Highly recommend!!!
One of the worst teachers I've ever had a Bradley. He's an extremely rude man who always said his tests were "just" like the homework. If they were, everyone would be getting A's. Rather boring and difficult to approach. Tests were hard and confusing.
Received a good grade...he is still a complete pompous, arrogant prick. I would avoid him at all costs; not because of the course but rather because he is just an awful person.
Wayvons canadian...need I say more?!
Wayvon isn't a bad guy; I've gone into his office hours twice and he was helpful both times. He goes over all the hw in class and as long as you understood the homework, the tests will be easy. Drops 2 lowest quiz grades.
Wayvon is an awesome guy. The class is not easy, but it's not supposed to be. He will answer any question you have and he really care about you learning the material. He's approachable and a great professor, I reccomend you take any of the classes he teaches!
Paul Wayvon is a really nice guy and extremely helpful but he tends to not explain the material very well, he often mumbles on and before you know it you're lost. but, if you follow him when he makes sense, do the hw, and study its a fairly easy class. but to do good you HAVE to go to class and he always gives quizes, lots of times on fridays!
I LOVE Wayvon!!! This class was an easy A and he is super helpful...took this class 3 years ago and he still says hi to me everytime he sees me! He's too cute!
He's a fantastic teacher, not to mention he's a canadian babe! haha, but seriously, he's a very nice teacher who will do his best to help when you need it. I would DEFINITLY take him again.
Do the homework and Show up to class.
Wayvon is a great accounting teacher. I had never taken any type of accouting class before, but he made it seem easy. He assigns homework, then does all the homework on the board the next class period. Final is a little tough.
He is an amazing teacher! He will work with you until you understand the material! He teaches you everything you need to know in class before the homework and the tests. He won't tell you whats going to be on the tests, but just study the homeworks and pay attention in class and you'll be totally fine!!! Would totally recommend!
Great teacher! Easy "A" if you go to class and keep up with the homework!
He's a good professor, occasionally jokes around. Really it's a pretty easy A if you do the homework and aren't an idiot. He goes over the homework on the third day of the chapter and calls on everyone individually to answer, so it helps if you truly do it. I'm planning on taking him for atg158 also.
If you can get by his arrogance, he's a cool guy and this class is fine, quizzes can be tough but the tests are okay. for each chapter there is one day of lecture and one day of homework. Just keep up and you'll do fine!
Great accounting teacher, do the homework and go to class and it is definitely a manageable A. Can't go wrong with Wayvon.
Great Guy. Take notes and only skim reading the book is necessary. My favorite teacher at Bradley. Tests are exactly like the notes. Wayvon is easily number one for accounting.
Wayvon was a great professor. Had him for 157 and wish I would have had him for 158 and 204. He makes you learn the material and the tests are hard but if you study they're not too bad! Take wayvon!
He is a very boring teacher
Great Teacher!
Professor does not really care about the students. Does not respond to email and goes into very easy stuff in details and checks homework as if we were in High school, also, you do not have to do it, just count your turn and answer the question You can get an easy A he always adjusts the score since there will be mistakes on the exam
Boring!!!
The material isn't THAT hard, but the tests always seemed to have curve balls to throw you off and confuse you instead of test your knowledge. I had to teach myself a lot and I worked really hard to get a B for a final grade. I had an A the whole semester too. What a bummer.
Clearly this year he is the only one teaching 158 so I only have bad news. You have to teach yourself ALOT.And if your not good at it...you will be lost.He doesn't help and the test do have curve balls on them so you have to learn it inside and out. If your good at accounting and can learn on your own take him then.If you need any assistance DONT.
PROFESSOR WAYVON IS THE WORST PROFESSOR I'VE HAD AT BRADLEY. HE WAS AN ARROGANT ASS AND I WOULDN'T TAKE ANOTHER CLASS WITH HIM IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT. I ABSOLUTELY HATED THIS CLASS AND THIS PROFESSOR. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
teaches one way for the exam then gives you completely different hard problems on the exam. reading every chapter inside and out is a must.
the peo[le that commented must were slackers.. i had a baby while the semester i had him and was out for a month and manage to pull off a B w/o any special meetings.. its ATG so u must read and learn the steps specifically how he teaches will help on the eaxm.. the test aren't as hard as u think if u really read the chapter.. take him
He is not that bad. He moves quick but if you have questions ask (duh). If you get left behind, which you may, it is because you didn't put enough effort into the homework or you skip class. If you go to class, take good notes, pay attention, AND do the homeowrk, you will be fine.
To me he was a funny guy, but that's only because he got after the people who weren't up to speed from previous classes. He does move quickly but is easy to understand and will make time to help anyone who asks. He also understands progress, if you do better on the final than the midterm, he will drop your midterm grade. or just give you an A anywa
Crazy candian
I thought his class was interesting and helpful. I also thought this class was extremely easy. He gave you the journal entries in class and all you had to do was memorize them and the tests were easy. I would love to have him again for another class.
He is interesting and a pretty easy professor. His tests are straight forward and does not demand much from students. Very knowledgeable and intelligent. Take him if you get the chance.
Like the other 1 hour business courses, 201 is really pointless. The only grades in the class were the midterm and final, which were both long since we had to produce several financial statements. You'll have just enough time if your numbers balance.
Great, easy professor. Very clear about his expectations. If you attend lectures, you will be extremely prepared for exams. Very knowledgeable and has an incredible amount of accounting experience. Take him if you can!
He is honeslty one of the best atg teachers I have had. He may seem a bit intimidating at first but he warms up during the semester. This class isn't bad at all as long as you put some effort into it and attend class and do your work.
He may be intelligent in his field, but his teaching skills are sub-par. At the graduate level, Bradley should have higher quality instructors. Paul has some quirks that are just silly (no extra paper to write on during tests, if your answer is 'right', but he doesn't like the way you solved the problem--it's wrong, etc). Good luck!
Wayvon is good at accounting and knows it because he likes to be right all the time. If you go to his office hours and ask him for help he will tell you to go get a tutor and that if you don't understand him in class then you won't when he tries to help you.
Whoever said that he was a good teacher was completely far off. He is a rude and impatient man. DO NOT TAKE HIM. He doesn't give you enough time on ANY of the exams. He always expects that everyone knows and understands what he is talking about. Does not clarify well.
ATG 158 is a difficult class regardless of the teacher. I recommend the textbook's solutions manual. 201 was fun! Wayvon explains things well but moves quickly. Make sure to ask questions or tell him to slow down. He seems like he gets bored sometimes and enjoys when someone butts into the lecture with something clever to say. Good luck!
Don't be swayed to take this class based on his ratings. I came into this class expecting it to be a normal accounting class but I was mistakenly wrong. He is a tough grader who takes off points on every little thing he can. He lectures very fast and it's hard to understand. YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK to understand what is going on.
He speaks very quickly and expects you to know every answer or he will criticize you. He tries to trick you on exams. The final project is extremely long time consuming. He is not very helpful if you go to office hours. He is condescending and not really approachable.
He can be very short and rude which can get frustrating, but he's a good teacher. If you have any troubles, go to his office or use the accounting tutoring. Very helpful.
He moves sooooo fast you can't keep up. Do the homework before class even if he says you're doing it in class. He calls on everyone do do parts and if you don't have it done, you'll get behind and be so lost when he questions you. Very boring, but not awful. Do the practice and you'll do fine
Wayvon is tough and does move fast, but if you go to class and do the practice problems you'll get an A. He calls on random people to answer the homework problems so if you don't do them he already won't like you.
He goes over material fast. Do the practice problems before class and you can follow ten times easier. If you do not answer questions he will not like you. I have a horrible time with numbers in general. He saw how much work I put in and it really helped my final grade in the class. Participate! It helps you in the end!
Horrible teacher!!! Very unorganized notes. The way he asks the homework is different from the test questions. Gives extra credit because the whole class didn't do well. BEWARE!
I'm extremely studious so it's a lot for me to say that this class wasn't the easiest. I ended up with a good grade but it was difficult to earn. He expects you to come in with the knowledge already and he can be harsh and impatient. Tests are much harder than the homework assigned. There are two tests in this class. No textbook
Wayvon was the hardest teacher I've had here. I barely got my C. The only points in the class are exams and occasionally quizzes if everyone is doing bad. Every student struggled in this class. We asked for help and he made it off to sound like we're the lazy ones who don't study. So difficult and confusing if you're not a math or business major.
I love Wayvon! He was my first professor at Bradley coming in as a transfer student. You had to know your stuff in his class, but I liked that. He gave two tests (it was a 2 week required review class) and I got a 100% and 97%. The tests were exactly what he said. It was a fast pace class so you had to know your stuff though or you got left behind.
Paul Wayvon was not accommodating to me needs and what I needed out of the class. He was rude, unwilling to meet with me at a time that worked for me outside his office hours. His lectures are very confusing. If you don't like talking in front of the class, he makes you do that and gets mad when you don't know the right answer. I switched sections
He is a good teacher and knows his stuff, but he expects you to know it as well. He calls on you in class without you raising your hand, so be ready. As an accounting major, this class wasn't hard, but I definitely studied a lot.
There was a quiz on every chapter and we went over one chapter a week. So there were quizzes every week. Really expects you to know everything on problem days. When getting the book buy the actual book not the online version. The class really stressed me out because I never knew the answers. He always expected you to pretty much learn on your own.
Paul Wayvon was an average teacher but what made him worse was how he acted outside of class. He would never even tell us the format of the tests which made it very difficult to prepare. The final exam ended up being all short response questions while the tests during the school year were half multiple choice and half short responses. Pass on him.
Underprepared, rude, and a tough grader. The course is only graded on a midterm and a final, both of which were way too long to finish on time. He randomly calls on students and if you tell him you dont know the answer he makes you feel dumb for saying I dont know I would not recommend him at all
Having this class virtual was challenging. Professor Wayvon is very intelligent and knowledgeable in the field but it is hard to keep up sometimes. Lectures and tests were confusing and you had to participate in every class whether you were ready or not.
It was probably the toughest 1 credit course I have ever taken but it wasn't horrible. It is very test-heavy, so if you don't do well on the two tests then you are absolutely screwed. I also found a lack of motivation to go to lectures because he randomly calls on people.
Paul is such a great professor. He had an easy structure to follow and tells students to practice or they will struggle. He makes examples fairly easy but to clearly understand you must practice on your own. Rarely any homework, if any. Exams and quizzes are very straightforward, they contain exactly what is taught in class.
