Lots and Lots of statements with pauses; he wants you to think about what he is saying. I don't find his mutipul choice too difficult but his essay questions are of medium difficulty(not impossible but don't think about getting away with murder)

I find his lecture is vague, and unprepared. We got material two days before the test, some material isn't covered. He knows his material, but I had a hard time understanding it in the way he taught.

Took his online course. Not a good idea unless you love reading History. Although he give key words for the test and bases a lot of his question from the online practice tests from the book, not a class to take if you want to learn the material.

This course requires alot of textbook reading. His tests consist of both lecture, as well as book material. If your aren't interested in learning quite a bit of material from the text, I would suggest a different teacher.

His lectures would probably be more interesting and effective if he would stop relying on Power Point. Power Point disrupts a natural "lecture" rhythm, so I found his lectures to be choppy as a result.

Very interesting teacher. He knows his history very well and he makes it interesting for everyone. Tests were easy. Writing a history paper sucked, but wasn't hard. I would like to take him again.

Wilson actually makes you read like you're supposed to do in an upper level history class. He's very helpful and down to earth, and there's no reason not to pass his class if you apply yourself.

Many bad jokes, and has some distracting, meaningless habits, such as pulling on his desk. His lectures aren't always interesting, but you learn it, and he almost always has the answer to any history question. Good teacher.

He should spend less time trying to be cute, and more time providing the facts. He is a time waster, but a very likeable guy. If you can get him to focus on the material, he's a fine instructor. He has a marvelous sense of humor which seems wasted on most students.

he is a very good teacher with a sense of humor and goes out of his way to help his students his notes are easy to follow and he has review test online that help alot and some of the questions offline are on his test. i would recommend him to anyone who is not really intersted in history

I think that he is a great professor. he knows his material very well and he is very helpful, however, I owuld not recommend his internet course, there are a lot on the tests that he takes from his lectures that are not on the objectives sheets he gives for the WWW class.

Good class...tests are not impossible, unlike some other instructors. He makes lots of silly jokes and obviously loves his family (he's always talking about them...how cute. I would suggest him, just watch out for the spinning chair!!!!!

I really liked him. He chose subjects to cover that were the most interesting. He was pretty funny and laid back. His tests require a lot of studying and online researching but I'd recommend taking him if you can.

ok, the chair spinning is annoying, but he is GREAT!!!! his tests are pretty easy, if you pay attention and take the online quizes twice or three times you do good in his class. He mays it fun, and keep you entertained, though he is always late to class! he is on what we call Wilson's time. hehe

He is great lecturer; kind of makes you interested in the material. The way that he lectures is good, and it helps when you have to remember the material for the tests. Oh, the tests are pretty easy, too. Just have to take notes.

Took him for an online course. HUGE mistake. He puposly makes the course harder than what it would be if you would take it in the classroom. Do not take as online, alot easier in the classroom.

one of my favorite teachers..ever. pay attention, take good notes, study notes everyday, and do online quizzes. i didn't even use the book and made A's. it's not easy but not difficult to pass. Wilson is awesome.

I've always hated history, and he made me interested in a subject, it's the way he lectures, he jokes a lot, some of them get old, the chair spinning gets old and aggravating too. But he is funny at times. Make sure you study the online quizzes and the study guide book. Also take as much notes as you can. You might not need to use the book.

Dr. Wilson's lectures are fairly informative and interesting. His tests are all multiple choice. Just study his study guide, take good notes, and do the online quizzes, and you will do ok.

His lectures are interesting and pretty funny. Take good notes, do the online quizzes, and use the study guide. The book will compliment everything if you decide to read, although it's not totally necessary. I definitely recommend Wilson.

I took him for an internet class. I think that if you are not interested in History then don't take him for an internet class. I didn't understand much in the book and bc it was an internet class I had to read my book. The chapters are very long to read and confusing to understand. However, he is very helpful when you need him.

He really know the material. He did get on my nerves a lot because he would start saying stuff as if it were true and students were writing it down, but then he would say, "No that's not right. Erase that." He was too sarcastic. It's not a good idea to miss his class! Some test questions aren't found in the book! I'm not taking him again.

Uses powerpoints and reads pretty much from that. Found lectures to be fairly boring, good sense of humor though. Class was tough, but passable. Not as fun as others make it out to be.

Interesting lectures. Exams are usually straight from lectures. I bought the book never really read it. Some test questions came from the multiple choice book he makes you buy. He gives outline before the exam of what's going to be on it. Study that along with lecture notes and you'll be fine!

How people can like this guy as a teacher is beyond me. Yes, the class is fairly easy, but his lectures are boring. History 101 with him is basically biblical history/theology. We learned about the Beatitudes, the Genesis creation story, and Paul's letter to the Corinthians. What is funny about him, though, is his fascination with YouTube.

I had to drop this class. He gives you a workbook with mutiple choice questions that are on the test. nothing he teaches sticks with me. but he does give you 30 extra points at the end of the semester if you miss 3 or less days. dont fall asleep in class and dont play with your phone! he will kick you out of class.

If you get tolerate his arrogance, then you won't mind him. His tests are confusing. He tries to make jokes but he's not funny. Unhelpful and uninteresting. Don't take him.

Take him. Simple as that. He's the best professor I've had in my first year and a half. His lectures are very interesting, and he's a very funny guy. He really knows his history (Ph.D.)

Paul Wilson is pretty much Jesus Christ. He's the best teacher I've ever had, he's professional, helpful, smart, and absolutely hilarious. He made learning fun and I couldn't wait to go to his class every day. His class was challenging but he kept my attention. Basically, in a fight between Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee, Paul Wilson would win.

I also agree with the comment below. Dr. Wilson gives you the facts you will need for his class and nothing more. He also keeps the classes fun and interesting. Bon Jovi riding on the back of a tyrannosaurus rex playing "Living on a Prayer" can't hold a candle to Paul Wilson.

Took Dr. Wilson for History 333, and currently taking History 490 with him. He is an EXCELLENT teacher. He's extremely helpful and quite interesting. I highly recommend taking a History class with him.

Great teacher! I enjoyed this class very much Dr. Wilson's humor is absolutely hilarious. He starts a lot of class discussions which keeps things interesting. Extremely knowledgeable.He gives 20 extra pts for attendance with less than 3 misses. Tests are usually multiple choice he covers everything thoroughly. If you have the chance TAKE HIM.

He's a normal teacher. He gives you 20 points at the end of the semester just for having a good attendance! All of his test are from the power point and book. Just listen to his lectures and study the power points you will pass with a C or B!!!!

Very Entertaining, Funny Guy. Full semester attendance records results in 20+ points. Down to earth teacher. If you pay attention in class and go over PP slides, you'll be fine for the test

3rd time taking him. He's a great professor who keeps the class interesting and funny every time. He has a unique sarcastic way of covering the material. Exams come mostly from lecture and slides, but there are always a handful of questions from the book that weren't mentioned in class.

I took this teacher for 101 www & 102 www. I really enjoyed these classes. Learned a lot without getting bogged down with a lot of unnecessary work. If your going to take both classes, get the full book & save yourself $50. Spend that money on the study guides. Professor Wilson co-wrote the study guides, so they are very helpful on the tests.

Read your book! He puts random questions on the exams that are straight from the book. Don't be surprised if you do not know what half of the questions on the test are about. Online book resources help!

Class was very straight forward. Every test that he gives is straight from the book. MAKE SURE YOU READ! He gave an extra point assignment that was fairly easy, an essay. If you are half way interested in western civ you can make an A in this course. If not, read the book and you should be fine.

Hands down my favorite professor. His lectures often run off track, but even his side stories involve an interesting or valuable bit of information. TestsPapersExams are VERY clearly explained. You will never be surprised with uncovered test material. If you're writing skills are poor, take Paul; he grades on content only.

He is definitely a tough grader when it comes to writing, and if you're taking him for an upper level class, you do a lot of it. However, he is always willing to help if you are struggling. His lectures sometimes go off topic, but that can be refreshing sometimes. Definitely a cool approachable professor; one of my favorites at Nicholls.

This class is all about Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, not specifically World War II. If you miss two or less classes, he'll give bonus points. His lectures can drift away from the material but they're usually funny. He requires eight 400-word Moodle forums, a book review and uses a 600-page book as extra class material. This class was alright.

I'm a Biology major, but I took his Hitler and Nazi Germany class for an elective class and it was f'n awesome. He is super tough when grading and expects you to write out your essays (2-3 page long essays for every test) as if the information you're giving is a recipe for what happened. Super fun and is the best if you love history like I do.

Dr. Wilson is the primo professor of history. He knows all about history, especially Hitler and world war 2. He makes class fun and tells all kinds of stories that you don't find in the textbook. Listening to him is much better than reading.

The class and workload are so easy that a toddler could do it, but he makes the class unbearable. He has a major issue not allowing his personal biases to come into play in his lectures. As a future teacher, he does everything they tell us Not to do.

I had him for online world civ. He's a VERY difficult essay grader, expect to write exceptional essays if you want an A. His grading criteria is not at all clear and you will have to dissect the prompt before you write the essay. His tests also ask very subjective questions and usually pertain more to the lecture material than the book.
