He lets you have cheat sheets for tests so if you can't pass this course its your own fault. He is a genuinely nice guy that really seems to care about the students and is passionate about the subject he teaches. He is my favorite OCC teacher so far.

Amazing teacher ! Great person, very clear about materials. Fun class ! Actually makes Polisci fun ! Relatively easy exams but you learn A LOT of awsome stuff ! Great teacher !

Winston is a great teacher! Not easy, but learned a lot about government! Take him if you want to work a little bit but learn a ton ! He has a great sense of humor and his sidekick Mr. A. is hilarious!

Mr Winston is a great teacher... He tells hilarious jokes while incorporating in into government terms. He assigns alot of busy work but gives you the entire semester to complete, Him and Mr A could be the next Abbott and Costello. Tests are just scam-trons and MANY extra credit opportunities!!

Winston and his side-kick Mr. A make quite a team. Yeah, they are like Abbot & Costello, but man do they know their government material. A's seminars always seem to be patterned after Winston's lectures. WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR MR. WINSTON YOU GET 2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1. THESE 2 GUYS ARE LIKE A CORPORATI

Great teacher. Does tell quite a few of corny jokes, but it actually helped me to remember some of the material. Huge Tigers fan, and has a few give-away Tigers questions on his tests.

Amazing teacher! A serious teacher who knows his subject extremely well. (the people who don't like him are probably just politically incompatible with him). A great person too ! Gives lots of options for extra credit. Easy Fun & Informative class man !

I Love Mr. W-he is super smart and makes american govt fascinating and uses current events to flesh out the course. You can choose multiple choice or essay for your exam.

Mr. Winston is wonderful! He jokes around alot about sporting events especially the "Tigers". He is fair to all his students, and is willing to help if needed. Take good notes and you should have no problems w/this class.

Winston & Mr. A in a together fashion take care of the students with great care and also understanding. What Winston and Mr. A do for the students of this college campus is great. They are both great men trying to make a lasting difference for future generations of America by being well educated.

The class is pretty easy. He gives many opportunities for extra credit. His lectures were pretty boring but necessary to go to for his exams. Overall, a pretty easy class.

He goes on a lot of tangents during lecture. That was sort of frustrating. I probably learned more from the book. He requires that you outline parts of the book. You can make the "cheat sheet" as in depth as you'd like and you get to use it on the test. Make sure to make a good cheat sheet and you'll get an A.

He is a great teacher, all other teachers at OCC should take notes from him. He is very easy to understand once you get past his lame jokes. Test are pretty easy. If I had to take the class again I would pick Winston

Great teacher! Made a boring subject a lot of fun.

Teaches a class everybody has to take at OCC, so he gets lots of losers in class, too. Still makes the class interesting and informative. Always well-informed as to the subject, but leans to the left; OK if you know this and can combat some outrageous pro-democrat statements with the facts. Also quite funny at times. I enjoyed his class!

He is very knowledgeable and exicted about his field of teaching. Many opportunies for ex. credit. I did not do all the extra credit, and still got a B+ in the class. You get a certain amount of notes to have during the test. I recommend this class with Winston as the teacher!!

u can use study guides on tests, and/or go to SHORTY easy seminars for extra credit. Good, caring man- lets a lot of things go (such as annoying students in class-only down fall)...but hes a greaaaaaaat teacher- shows the simpsons in class :) and relates current events to his lecture always. very informative, got my attention!!!!!

Are you kidding me?? you'll never find a tracher like him!! So easy! You would have to some brain problems if you couldn't pass his class... HE IS GREAT! Cheat sheets on test, what teacher does that?? noone! :)

He is very nice... and gives lots of examples.. for clarification...The optional outlining if for study habits and helps alot with understanding and test taking... The test are hard if you don't read and outline. The assistant, i don't think is very helpful & nice All he does is repeats some of Mr. Winstons lectures. Going to him is a waste of time

If you do the work he asks of you, he'll bump your grade up with every test. I learned a lot, and he seems to be more generous with the grades for those who work hard. Nice guy.

How to get an A in this class: Do all the readings for the tests. You'll get a decent grade. Then, do the extra credit assignments. You will get an A. Professor Winston is an awesome teacher. Very compromising and extremely helpful. Show him respect by working hard. Take Him!

best teacher ever! he is seriously the nicest sweetest guy! he really cares about his students a lot and if you don't do so well on the test he gives out so many extra points to bump your grade up.. rarely lets students out early but he is definitely a GREAT teacher and if i could take him for every class i would.. he always makes my day.

What a great teacher. Do the work and you will get an A. He is so entertaining and has several puns throughout the lecture. Lets you out early only once or twice but keeps you entertained the whole time. Take this class, I promise you'll love it

He was funny and made class interesting, but felt that his teaching style wasn't for me. He gets sidetracked on topics easily. Talks about history a lot which I am poor in and had trouble understanding some of his comments, quotes or cartoons. Lots of assignments. Tests are either M/C or essay, you get to pick.

Mr. Winston, is very funny says corny jokes. Homework wise alot from the book for tests though. Grades on a curve and gives you every opportunity to raise your grade on tests, plus you can use your notes. I would recommend him to anyone needing this class.

he's a great teacher!! you have to be an idiot not to get an A in his class...his lectures are very clear and he also gives a lot of extra credits... it's also open notes during the exam, which can m/c or essay depending upon your choice...i'll gladly take another class from him - learned and enjoyed alot!

WOW...I dont get how some people say hes a "hack" or only in it for the money...have u seen this guy... I am pretty sure he could care less about money... he knows his stuff and if you want to learn it you have every oppritunity if you dont...you fill your requirment and get by pretty easy...

Professor Winston is hilarious!! he makes class interesting and fun and the exams are basically open book, mc or essay, your choice. he grades on a curve and gives tons of extra credit opportunities

This guy is AWESOME! He's "Larry David" funny! He's very intelligent and down to earth.

Winston is too nice a guy to tell the class to simple shut the "h*ll up"! If you're looking for a POL 1510 class, he's your man! But if you're looking to take Comparative Government, I wouldn't suggest him. Though you probably WILL get a good grade in Comparative Government, you will not learn anything you've never heard before.

This prof is great. Although he leans heavily to the left, and I lean heavily to the right-he is still a good teacher who respects serious students. You can use notes for the test(so make sure they're thorough!) I dreaded memorizing names/dates, but this class has been great! Lively lectures keep the class interesting. He is a very nice person.

I loved Mr. Winston and his over-sized sweaters. Despite looking like he beat up a 350 pound man and stole his clothes, he always kept the conversation lively. Tests were easy if you took good notes but there was a ton of busywork. Not a hard class, but a very time-consuming one. Still, I enjoyed it.

This class is worth taking just for Mr. Winston's super-cheesy jokes... I mean, it can't get any cornier than him, but he is hillarious. Great guy! Class is fairly easy if you take notes, and do your homework - a LOT of it - very time consuming, but fun.

He's cute and funny. very passionated about his career. very willing to help student alot of extra credits. cheesy jokes to relax students. But tests were hard! and to prepare the cheat sheet, it takes so freaking long time. you need every single line summarized for your condensed note even examples. Good Luck!

Even though I am on the opposite side of most issues with Mr. Winston, he is very respectful and playfully one sided politically.Tons of note taking from the textbook,but tests were open note.He is very kind and rewards students who go the extra mile. I thought the class would be boring, but his lectures are lively and fun.I looked forward to class

Wow. This was a tough class. Homework takes about 12 hours a week. YOU MUST copy key sections straight from your book or the tests will be impossible! 10 + key sections per chapter, 2 chapters per week. This class was tough! He is a great teacher and corny but that makes it fun. You can't help but like him.

Took this class because it's required,he made it worth it. Great Teacher, he made it interesting. However, there is a lot of notes and a lot of book work. He does let you use your notes on test, take a lot of notes.

He makes the class easy to sit through and listen. Lots of homework but straight out of your book. and you can use everything on your tests...

Really good class, very interesting, the only thing i would say is that there is jst so much busy work, made it a lot harder bc i spent so many hours writing. but your allowed to use your notes on the tests so you'll get the grade if you do the work.

Gives a ton of work, but it's not at all hard work, and you can use it on your tests. If you tried hard enough, you could probably pass the class on extra credit alone. Told plenty of corny jokes but they made class interesting. I would definately recommend him for this class.

Don't take him if your time is limited to other activities. He assigns to many writing assignments that it's very easy to fall behind. However, if you can devote two hours a night to his class than take him. Winston is very passionate about the Pol Sci and does a great job explaining the process. I would suggest all future law students take him.

I loved Mr. Winston, and going to his class actually cheered me up sometimes. He's a very funny, likeable, and understanding person, so you can go to him for help anytime. But be warned, there is a TON of busy work. It's not hard though, just time consuming. Anyway, if you have to take POL1510, take it with him for sure!

He has a passion for the subject matter, and expects his students to become engaged with the material. He's funny, but does not tolerate openly disinterested students. Much reading and writing-intensive homework, but it can be used on the tests. Class is designed to make people actually think about the political process.

To pass the class make sure and be prepared to read alot. In this class there's alot of work to be done especially KEY SECTIONS. He does go off topic, but his opinions and jokes and sometimes worth listening to. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn everything by the "Book"

Mr. Winston was the best political science teacher I had at O.C.C., He was very funny in class and his lectures were very easy to follow and he made the subject very interesting and informative.

Nice guy, really corny- he's aware of it though. He makes class interesting with current events and funny bits while teaching. Be forewarned: tons and tons of busy work. You get to use everything on the tests, but there is A LOT of paperwork to be turned in. Attendance is mandatory so take the once a week portion of this class. Lots of ex. cr. opps

Good teacher, cares about students and tries to get class involved in discussion. Study key sections from the book carefully and take good notes for the exams. GO to class!!! If you have issues or need help talk to him about it.

Winston is great! Sometimes his jokes are a little too corny for me, but still he is a good teacher. As long as you stay on top of the homework, you will do good on the test. I never thought i would actually learn so much about politics, because it is my least favorite subject.

What a funny guy! He is so fun! If all teachers were this enthusiastic about the subject they teach, we would be smarter than China! He does give a ton of work, but it is well worth it. I won a game of trivial pursuit because of this class..lol

Nice & funny guy. However doesn't give credit for the homework, it just protects the grade. He grades solely on exam scores but there is some extra credit.. so as long as you do all the work that's required of you (which isn't an extreme amount) and take notes which you can use on the exams you should be fine.

Normally I hate political science classes, but Winston made it extremely enjoyable. There is a lot of work, but if you do it you can use it on the exams.

Really nice guy, makes a lot jokes, and knows government is boring and tries to keep you interested in that way. Lots of busy work in addition to the reading, but you're allowed to use notes that you make on each test, ad if you do them well, you get a bump on your test grade! Lots of extra credit, impossible to fail, unless you're just lazy.

If you have to take american government please take him. He's a good guy, funny, and makes politics seem more interesting than it is. Yes, it is a little time consuming with the key sections/special sections plus projects, but you get to use your noted on the test if you want. I would recommend him.

Offers a lot of work to perform in his classes, but by doing all of them will lead to a better grade. Quite humorous and makes the class entertaining. Keep up with his assignments and you'll be fine. Found this class to be easier to handle and even obtain an A than other courses.

Good teacher. Very funny. There is a lot of work in this class. I did more writing in this class than in an English composition class. Writing was for sectional notes and projects however. I would recommend this professor he is worth it.

LOTS of writng that isn't really hard, just VERY time consuming. Find a good partner early to help with all the special sections. He is a good guy, more involved and enthusiastic about his job than any other prof I have seen. There are also many extra credit chances so if you are willing to put in enough work almost anyone can get an A.

Mr. Winston was an awesome teacher. The class was very easy and he offers sooo much extra credit. Its almost impossible to get anything other than an A in his class. There is a lot of project work but the key is to do itall in groups since you have the option of doing it alone or with others. He loves to give exrt credit for community service.

Good class! Good teacher! Learned alot thanks to Mr. Winston. There is alot of work in this class but it is not hard. This is so you learn and understand..for your own good. He offers lots of extra credit, so do it and get an A! This is quite easily attainable.

What a personality! He made political science bearable and interesting in the middle of the summer! He forces you to write to make sure you are reading...the writing protects your grade. Very, ver funny guy. he cracks himself up mostly! I really recommend him.

Loved this class. He is such a character. Although he seems very liberal and often makes fun of the conservatives, he is still a great teacher and a blast to listen to.

Funny old guy with a passion of American Government! It's easy to pass his class. Easy projects here and there and you can use notes on his tests which are very easy as is I recommend this guy to anyone!

Great personality and has a real passion for American history and government. He will make your college experience in his class exceptional. He is still to this day my favorite professor. I encourage everyone to take his class.

The best teacher I've had. I used to hate politics, but now I couldn't be more active. There is a lot of work, you have to stay motivated but it all pays off. I learned so much. He's a very friendly guy who cares about each individual student. Take his class!

He wants everyone to get an A, and as long as you show up and do all of the assignments (which are really simple and take very little time) you cannot fail.

Mr. Winston is a great professor. I loved his class and I learned so much. I had little to no interest in politics before taking this class, now I am very interested and informed. This is a class with a lot of assignments. You have to manage your time wisely. It is a required course so take it with Mr. Winston!

Winston assigns a lot of busy work all through the semester. The exams are open note. Just show up everyday and do all the projects/extra credit.

Great Instructor! Passed with a A+! But, in order to pass you must: come to class, take GOOD notes and be willing to sometimes be bored. However, he gives a lot of work, do word to the wise.. Don't fall behind or you will FAIL!

Mr Winston Rocks! You WILL work your tail off, but if attend every class, take notes verbatum, do all of the key/special sections/EC you will do great! Make a Table of Contents for your notes(you'll thank me later). He's funny, welcomes questions/comments. You can't go wrong. I dreaded to take this class. I actually learned something. Awesome!

Great person and teacher at the same time . Loooooooooooooooooots of reading and writing throughout the semester!!!!! very helpful and fun at the same time. he let you turn late assignments , and offer lots of extra credits as well. highly recommend him.

Great teacher. There is a lot of reading and note taking but its all worth it. He allows open Note tests, so anything you write down you can use on your test. Gives tons of chances for extra credit, something as easy as watching a movie. He made government fun. Would love to have him as teacher all of my classes!

He is very personable. He does give a lot of work but all is beneficial because most can be used on tests and for extra credit. I survived this class by doing all work assigned and the extra credit saved me big time. There is a TON of easy extra credit. Don't be lazy and you will get an A.

one of the best teachers ive had. he is also the most corny but it made this class bearable. his tests are very easy as he allows you to use your notes. A TON of writing however from the book. class doesnt always go the full time. hes just a soft spoken older man who loves lincoln and washington :)i would definitely reccommend him!

There's no doubt Winston is an eccentric, quirky, liberal man who makes American Government bearable by all his hilarious, corny jokes. He's kind and gives lots of extra credit. The downside is he gives a ridiculous amount of time-consuming work. If you want an easy A or if you're taking other classes with writing assignments, avoid this class.

This was by far one of my favorite classes just because of the professor. He was HILARIOUS, and all of his jokes and sarcasm definitely kept things interesting. There was a TON of homework you have to do for each test though...don't wait until the last minute! It takes a while but it's all open note for tests. An easy A!

Easy class. He's a good professor that is good at keeping students interested. There IS a lot of homework and its all out of the book (so the book is NEEDED), its all very easy work.

One of the best Professors at OCC. The class is an easy A if you do all of the work. There is a lot of work to do but all the work can be used on the tests which makes the test very easy. He sets you up for success and you learn a lot too.

Mr. Winston is a great teacher! I did not want to take this class at all but he made it interesting and I learned a lot! He does move at a slow pace and majority of his exam questions come from paraphrased notes out of the book. The work load is heavy and if you slack off your grade will drop significantly. Very time consuming class!!

OMG with the work with the packets! The amount of time that is spent on doing homework is extreme.I would take him again as he's an awesome professor, but ONLY as a single class semester. Beware of the homework, but very knowledgeable!! Love the class!

FUNNY!! loved his classes! LOTS of work to do in this class, but tests are all from your own cheat-sheets (he calls garbage pail) and offers TONS of extra credit. Watched many documentaries in class. He really simplifies the subject to make it enjoyable even for those who know NOTHING about politics (ehm.. me). Very nice, and likes to tell jokes

I liked this class a lot. the lectures were fun, if you don't mind a LOT of puns. I have to say the homework was more than most classes. The grading was a little ambiguous, as I got grades like "indeedy" and such. But, he loves the subject and wants you to love it to. If I had a heavy class load, I might wait until I didn't to take him.

HILARIOUS! I loved his class. Took it over summer. Amazing hilarious guy. Class is entertaining, not boring. Learned a lot about politics and i really like it now. Loved this professor! He can tend to ramble and I'd find myself getting bored but he makes this class easy to pass. I had the accelerated class, so only one project. All work is simple but time consuming. Majority is to prepare open notes for tests, which are super easy if you take notes in class and from the book. He tells you everything you need.

Mr. Winston is a great guy, couldn't ask for a better professor. Took this class in the summer so moved kind of quick, but learn a lot from him. Very funny, make sure you have a sense of humor!

Very good teacher, but he give a lot of homework so get ready to read and write a lot. Hes very clear but kinda tricky to get used too, some times its hard to take notes. I hate when students go off topic in class all the time and he doesn't get back on track, very frustrating since 30-45 min wasted! Over all good teacher, just lots of work!

Awesome Professor! Wintson is such a personable Professor! He is an honest, sweet and charismatic man. He does give a good amount of homework(reading) but maintanable. He gives about 3 projects, not too tough. His quizes are alright, he lets you use your class notes and homework notes on the tests, but this does not mean don't study.

A funny, positive professor that will offer help to all upon asking and visiting his office. Does offer extra credit if the class is struggling or not faring well in his exams. Place emphasis on his tests, based on all of his notes and lectures are on that (plus the book). A rare class that has students staying from start to finish.

Professor Winston is one of my favorites. He really made me interested in politics when before I had no interest at all. People who don't receive a good grade in his class are the people who don't want to put an effort in he does assign a lot of work but its not hard, just takes time. He lets you use as many notes as you want to make for his exams!

You will read a bunch in this class and his exams can be challenging. HOWEVER, I enjoyed his class and felt he did a really great job in helping us whenever we needed it. He gives a bunch of extra credit for those who need it and he really makes you interested in what he is teaching. Try not to take the class with other "heavy homework" courses.

Best professor I've had my entire college career. Funny, extremely smart, and engaging. Be prepared to work. Must take notes. Must do assignments. I enjoyed his class very much. I would take any class taught by him.

MUST TAKE, professor Winston was the best professor I've ever had!! I had the pleasure of taking his class this past fall semester and it was so enjoyable! I looked forward to his class because he made it fun and interesting. The information he taught actually stuck with me and made me a more active citizen!!

Good teacher, and gives a million opportunities to get extra credit, including just doing a good job on the work you're assigned. ALL your exam questions come from the class notes and the work you put together in to a pack, used on the exam. Lectures get corny with an unreal amount of jokes, easy class, lots of busy work though. Grades lightly.

Great teacher, really helped me to understand the system of American Government. Definitely gives out a lot of homework which can sometimes be overwhelming but is understanding and forgiving if he knows you're putting in the effort. Lectures are great and there are tons of extra credit options. 10/10 would take again.

Professor Winston certainly likes telling corny jokes, my advice is to find a way to laugh at them. He isn't bashful about his political beliefs, but I expressed disagreement and always felt respected even when we disagreed. He is a fairly easy grader and offers loads of extra credit, as well as a cheat sheet for tests. Overall, nice class.

The class was absolutely amazing, outside the class was not. I think I spent around 100 hours outside class doing busy work for this class. If you can survive the busy work, the class is an easy A. You are allowed to use notes on your tests, so that's a big plus!

LOTS of note taking on sporadic lectures. You will need to know everything for tests, and packets for homework assignments. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities, but it will get overwhelming. Keeps laminated pictures of pigs in barrels for puns.

At first, you will think that the class will be terrible with the puns he tells all lecture. Little do you know, it will grow on you and you will end up laughing and LOVING lecture. Be ready to do your 3 packs due before the tests that will take you about 10 hours to do if you do them well. Do them well though and your grade on the test goes up.++

He actually cares about his students and wants to hear their opinion. I always look forward to his classes.
