Very Nice Lady and good teacher but the test hard extremely hard. Dont plan on getting an A! Work your tail off for a B.
extremely hard and not helpful at all. Gives students alot of attitude about class questions. Nice person outside of class but not helpful in class. Work very hard and maybe you can pass. I would tell everyone not tot take this class.
DO NOT TAKE HER! She does not cover the material and makes you feel dumb for asking her anything. And her test are very HARD! GET OUT NOW!
this lady wouldn't talk about anything but herself. if you enjoy teaching yourself science, please do it, but if you want to learn about how to survive during an attack, please take this class because that's all this crazy lady talked about. she's selfish and incredibly dumb.
Ms. Sanders makes her tests hard, but some of her test answers come directly from the textbook internet site. She likes to ramble a lot about why she believes in evolution. She has a know-it-all attitude and treats students like they are in elementary school. However, she said she scales grades.
Teaches very little but rambles an awful lot. Very, Very hard tests and not very helpful. Loves to talk about her rocks.
she is very hard... if she would stay on the subject of her class then it would not be a bad class but she rambles on about things that does not matter.. for examle she goes back to when she was a elementary teacher and she treats her college students just like she would treat those children
She was an excellent teacher.I enjoyed her stories. They illustrated her passion for and interest in science. She is very challenging, which is helpful in the long run.If you don't want to be challenged and don't want help in your future science classes, then don't take Mrs. Sanders.
I think that she was a good teacher. She is very encouraging and makes Biology fun. She does tend to get off subject but most of her stories are interesting. :) I enjoyed her class!!
I have had many professors over the years and this one is unreal! She knows what she's talking about, but seems to have a negative attitude towards anyone and everyone. She has a smart mouth and attempts to belittle her students. Don't take her class unless you enjoy dreading class!
she does not know what she is talking about. i think she needs to quit teaching. take her if you like a monkey teaching the class. her class is pretty easy
Mrs. Sanders is a very good teacher! She taught be alot about physical science and how to be a better college student. Don't take her class if you are a person who just wants someone easy. If you want to give your effort she definatly gives hers. Good teacher!! I look forward to Bio.
I have no comments because I have rewritten them 3 times now and I can't cut my comments down enought to fit them in this box. I will say if you take her don't ask her a question, she has the hardest "3rd grade labs", I hope you aren't a Christian,& Phases of the Moon is on theinternet(Hint)goodluc
This lady does nothing but talk about herself and nothing that has to do with the actual class. She needs to get her stuff together and learn how to teach. That class was awful...get out now.
she expects you to be responsible. if she thinks that you are not she will hate you. she will like you if you make a good grade on one of her tests. she gets real mad if you dont prepare for lab and will get rather psychotic. she can be nice at times but she has mood swings. hopefully you will make it without her killing everyone.
I had her for chem 104 and she is a wonderful teacher. she wants you to be better student. she has a positive attitude.
she is as stupid and retarded as a professor can be. she thinks every one is going to college so they can teach 3rd grade science. she dont give no notes for test or any help. the test are made by the text so they are hard and comprehensive. you basiclly have to read the whole text. i recommend you please dont take her.
She let's you correct your first few tests using your books. Goes off on tangents about nothing related to the class itself. although helpful when one on one. have time to devote to her class, lots of homework!!
NO NO NO. this lady is crazy. her class is passable but the headache is not worth it.
Very unclear, off topic, and actually TEACHES about 5% of the tests. If you take this class, be prepared to study the book and online stuff, because the notes are worthless!
Mrs. Sanders knows what she is talking about but she thinks that because she knows it everyone else in the class should too! She WILL make you feel like a idiot when you ask a question about anything! She does not help at all!
She is tough. She will help you though. the material is hard and she will make it as easy as she can. Her test are hard, but if you study like she tells you to, you will ace them.
She has a mullet and wears a white labcoat to labs. What's so abnormal about wearing a labcoat to lab? Nothing...except we were studying rocks. She is constantly worried about the world coming to an end through natural diasters. Am I suggesting her mental health is unstable? Well...the results of inbreeding have been scientifically documented.
I think Mrs. Sanders is an awesome teacher. Who's willing to help her students that want to make the grade and show effort.
hard. she seemed to get mad when you asked a question. she offer study time and did help sometimes. i think she had her good days and bad days. catch her on a good one and you'll be ok!!
shes not that bed just study. she will work with you on your grade and she gives lots of extra crdeit. just bear with it and actually put in effort and you will do will. i put in alot of effort and i got an A.
What a semester!! For someone that has been out of school for a while don't take this teacher. I was so upset with her and myself for staying in this class. Test are hard and she doesn't explain to you what to really study for and lab oh!! I can't tell it all. But she does make you feel dumb for asking a question. She can be real sweet sometimes an
I hate this teacher. She gave out a lot of extra credit but she sucked I will not take her again ever and do not sujest you take her.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! She will give extra credit but she is hard and very impatient if you don't understand the material. She will not work with you at all. Get out as fast as you can if you have her.
Well, her tests are hard but if you study you will do fine. This is college so it is not meant to be a walk in the park! The good thing about her is that you will know your material when you get out of the class. She gives extra credit so just do it and you will get a good grade. I came out with an A!
This is the most ridiculous class I have ever taken. The tests are extremely hard. She never teaches the material, but instead goes on hour long rants about the extinction of the human species and bizarre illnesses she claims have afflicted her family. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. she is the worst teacher. she does not teach at all, she expects you to make your own notes. spends all of class telling stupid useless stories. tests are EXTREMELY hard. She is on the psychotic side as well. be prepared to teach yourself everything. labs final was horrible. she didnt prepare us at all
Ok, so no one's going to say it? No one? ::Sighs:: She has a mullet...that sums it all up.
I heard all bad things about her, though her class IS difficult, it only is if you as a student makes it difficult. I am an average student but i regularly attended class and I have a high B almost an A. She is great because she prepares you for a higher level college. She also gives you numerous attempts for extra credit.
i agree with everyone. and yes, she does have a mullet. i took her in the summer and she ruined my summer. at times she seems nice but shes really mean. and like people have said before, she tells you so many random stories that has nothing to do with the class. DO NOT TAKE HER!
This lady is a little off her rocker. Not very helpful and makes you feel stupid when you ask a question. Tests are hard, they come straight from the book so be prepared to teach yourself b/c she doesn't cover material in class. I would not recommend this teacher to anyone.
She's really tough the first 3/4 of the semester to weed out lazy students, after which she is more reasonable. Discourages questions with harsh answers. Attendance is necessary for grades & comprehension, but labs and lectures don't help at all. STUDY THE CHAPTERS to pass the class. If she sees you put forth an effort, she's more reasonable.
Some people think Sanders is hard, and yeah, she makes you work, but duh: This is school. That's the point. If you want to never show up and make a good grade, forget her. In fact, forget any science major! But if you're serious and enjoy learning, take her. One of my favorite teachers! She's nice... Even brought donuts before a test once =D!
Don't take her unless you are seriously just wanting to be stressed out. She does know her material, but would rather talk about how the world is coming to an end rather than what is on the test. She's not clear about what will be on the test, and she uses test bank tests, so they're harder. Just steer clear of this lady.
This is the worst teacher anyone could ever have. I would not recommend her at all.
her test are hard. she dows not care at all. she talks about how we all are going to die and the world is ending. does not give any notes. just horrible. you will never learn unless she is the only class you take.
This teacher is useless. All she talks about is suing people and the world ending. Nothing she talks about is on the test. DO NOT take her class unless you want to learn on your own.
Hard class. Really hard tests. It has been tough to keep a passing grade. Not sure if I will pass. I would not recommend her or take her again.
This lady sucks. she does not give you any help even if you ask. she is difficult to follow. If you want a good GPA and grade never ever take paula sanders.
OMG! I used to love all sciences, especially Biology, before trying to learn from this teacher. Between not really teaching during class, force feeding home stories and end of days type scenarios, and brow beating students for not memorizing hundreds of charts/vocab a week. I should have just taken this class online. Would have learned more easily.
Extremely hard! Not such a pleasant person, but I learned more in this class than I did in any of my other classes. She pushes you but in the end it pays off! Don't take if looking for an easy A, she will make you work for every point you get!
Extremely hard class. Test are really hard but she does allow you to correct the ones you missed for 50% credit. I do feel like I learned alot from taking this class.
This class is so easy. I didn't go to class all the time and only studied the day of the tests and made a B.
I highly do not recommend. I took AP Biology in High School and made an A. I had a great teacher. Sanders loves to talk about how the world is going to come to an end then every morbid detail that she can. I left her class feeling depressed. Also, NEVER ask her a question. She will eat you alive if you do. Please take this into consideration.
I do not recommend anyone to take her class. She's very hard and will make you look very stupid when you ask a question due to you not understanding. (what do she think she's there for)....do not take this class!!!!!!!!!
starts off intense when shes weeding out lazy students but gets better, but u do have to work hard n study, teaches self discipline, n good study habits, lets u do test corrections n extra credit options. i got accepted into a health science program n what i learned from her n her study habits she taught will help me so much. i came out with a B.
AWFUL teacher! She thinks she is better than anyone else, constantly talks bout things that are not biology related.... Like the things you learned in health class... She will not help you if you ask for it! Take Vernon instead!! He's awesome! But Paula is awful!
Do not take her class. Her teaching consist of reading the chapter summary to you. She makes you look dumb when you ask questions and tells you to ask you're classmates. I thought that's what three teacher was for but I guess i was wrong.
She is a tough one! make sure you STUDY!! although her test aren't as bad as she makes them out too be, you really need too study the vocabulary and pictures.. she also gives test corrections!! set corrections is what got me my A.. GOODLUCK!!
Made an A in this class.. But definately had to work for it!!! I actually enjoyed her, she's not bad at all if you just make an effort to talk to her. Make your own study guides..Do detailed vocab, not only defining the word but pulling as much as you ca from the book. LEARN THE DIAGRAMS. I had to work for it, but that is what college is about.
Her class is hard. And not because it is a lot of work, I am a straight A student and am fine with working hard. She simply does not teach the material at all and expects you to home school yourself by memorizing a ton of charts. She is rude and more set on teaching students how to self discipline than teaching them biology.
Mrs. Sanders is one of the better bio teachers at SU. She can get off topic easily in class, and she thinks she is the best/smartest teacher ever, but she is so energetic in class that it makes time go by quickly. She lectures but doesn't really teach.. Sometimes her lectures help but usually not. READ THE BOOK. She lets you do test corrections
All she talks about is studying. She never teaches you anything.
Bio is Hard.. End of story. But if you stick it out and don't goof of this teacher is great. And she scales. So everyone who thought they were failing the class passed. She tells you what to study.
She spends a lot of time off topic and is very repetitive. Teaches straight from the book but attendance is mandatory and a 100 point grade. She doesn't take absence excuses. The only redeeming qualities she has as a teacher are that you can do test corrections and can drop your lowest test grade if you make an A on one test before corrections
She tries to scare you out of wanting to take classes at an actual university and seems bitter towards her own studies. She goes off topic too easy and talks too much when she does. Her notes are just the online outline. You have to teach yourself everything for the test. She refuses to help you. She treats her students like high schoolers.
Very difficult class. Chemistry is hard enough but she makes this intro class much harder than it needs to be. She gives you a brief overview of the material and the rest is up to you to learn on your own. She emphasizes homework and it's true, you have to do A LOT of studying. Lab can be a pain also, go to both class and lab. You've been warned...
I was scared on my first test but my hard work payed off so I'm glad she scared me into studying! She makes a 2 hour class interesting. She has expectations of you like knowing your material before coming to class. Pay attention to class notes and use them w your personal notes! Overall challenging but she'll help you if you first help yourself
She's a good teacher and means well. Don't think you can slide through this course you have to work. Make sure you do everything a day ahead other wise you'll be behind. She sounds intimidating, but just stick with it shes actually really nice. Your textbook will become your best friend.
When she gives you a study guide and you do it its nothing like the test. The only good thing about her is that she sometimes let you correct your test wit the book for a higher grade.
Pros and Cons on Ms. Sanders. Pros- when she teaches you the stuff, she gives it to you in a way you can understand Cons- She goes too fast over the material, skips over sections in the book you have to read yourself, gives a TON of homework, and goes on rants about the end of the world and global warming when she could use that time to teach.
If you make it past the drop date then she completely changes and is so helpful and sweet. You get 100 point test grade just for coming to class, one of her test is a take home, you also make test corrections for half credit on every test, and you get to drop a test. By the end she really only uses 2 test and you make corrections on those 2 anyway.
Don't take her class. She would rather go off on erratic rants than teach the material. Rude to students and certainly not helpful. Doesn't keep her word and unnecessarily sets up strict rules. You'd do better to put this class off until the next semester than take one she teaches.
Please do not take this class. I made a good grade only because I read every chapter over and over. She is the worst teacher I have had in my entire life. I am an A student and college is easy for me but this class was horrid.
She's hard depending on what kind of work ethic you haveIf you're a teach it urself type of student then her class is for you, if you depend on study guides and all that then DO NOT TAKE HERBut I find no fault in this ladyShe straight up gave me a C when I just knew for sure I failed her classI think everyone in my class came out with a C,B
Mrs. Sanders is a great instructor who's very passionate about what she does. Though she is very helpful and wants you to succeed, your grade is determined by how much you put into it. Be prepared to read and spend several hours studying the material. I overall enjoyed the class and learned a ton. Buckle your seatbelt, she's the connoisseur of bio.
Worst teacher on this planet. Don't take her if you want to succeed. Not helpful and shows heavy favoritism.
Very tough class.. Respected her as a professor but spent most of my semester confused in her class.
We have learned everything BUT biology. She does not lecture so be prepared to teach yourself. She would rather talk about her fear of the world ending than whats on a test. She rambles on about her inbred family and friends with tails for hours on end. DO NOT TAKE HER. Worst professor I've ever had.
Good Luck
She is terrible. She puts notes up but they don't help. You basically have to each yourself. She sometimes gives out study guides but they are not helpful and the tests contain too much information for that short amount of time. She doesn't care about any of your excuses you just get 0's. I would never take her again.
She is cool as a person but as a teacher she is not good. She is everywhere when she is lecturing and you are pretty much on your own in labs. She doesn't explain things well AT ALL. Gives test corrections on the first test but the second test you have to make a 60 to get test corrections.
does not teach a thing. she is horrible
She's without a doubt a tough teacher, but she cares. If she sees you're putting in effort, she'll work with you. I technically should have been considered absent one day from class, but after a stern lecture (and me believing I WAS marked absent,) she still gave me a 100 participation. She gives away bonus points too, which is a wonderful help.
Ms. Sanders is definitely tough but she teaches you to be self sufficient and a self learner-like you are already supposed to be in college. She is very knowledgeable and once the people who don't want to WORK for it are weeded out she softens up quite a bit. She is an excellent teacher. She gives bonus points and works with you--if you are trying.
Her class is very difficult. The lectures are long and the tests normally have about 100 questions on them. She is just a very hard teacher.
She is very difficult but provides enough bonus to keep you at an A or a B. Lots of studying to pass this class but I learned more than ever. Most people dont like this class because you have to apply effort.
It's very much you teach the material to yourself and she goes over the summery at the end. She gives lots of bonus but it's things like giving blood or volunteering at school functions. Basically if you don't have a job or other classes you'd be fine. She said a min of 12 hours a chapter for a 5 chapter test. Also if we didn't understand to bad.
The test are so difficult she doesn't exactly explain anything she expects you to read the textbook and know it and she says if you don't study 12 hours a day you will not pass her class do not take this professor unless you can read the textbook and know everything in there.
She Is not clear on information that is needed for the test, expects you to learn information on your own without going over it. DID NOT EVEN GO OVER THE LAST CHAPTER BEFORE SOME TESTS. If you need a science w/ a lab and you are not a science major, DO NOT TAKE.
If you have other classes, or can't teach yourself Chemistry then don't take her class. She gives skeletal notes, does a couple problems, but the rest is up to you. Also she wants you to do the Chem math problems her way. If you do it the way you learned it in another class and get the right answer she still marks it wrong. Nice person tough grader
I was confused the whole classs. Nothing in the class makes sense and we hardly went over any material that was on the test. I would not recommend this class if you are not good at teaching yourself.
The rudest teacher Ive ever had in school. She will tell you to study 12 hrs reading 5 chapters at a time. In class she makes us write down a lot of notes to study and the day of the test nothing in notes or study guide matches. She cares more about lab than class time. If the class fails as a whole she blames us for not working hard.
Tough class, but rewarding. 30 bonus points possible. Study the labelings. Use quizlet (esp. take home test, post test, & lab final) Go to lab and complete the lab manual and lab prep. She take up certain pages in the manual for a grade at the end of the semester. She prepares you for higher education. Put in the effort & youll be fine.
If you are ready to teach yourself then you came to the right class. Unless you want an F you need to read and do every practice problem in each chapter that she goes over. Shes nice and means well but honestly very subpar teaching. In fact there was hardly any teaching at all.
This class was honestly the hardest class i have ever taken at SUSCC. She is pretty nice and she tries and works with you but there is just a whole lot of material to cover and the tests are really far in depth. I honestly never knew how to study for this class. I tried multiple methods but none seemed to work. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN HELP
Mrs. Sanders is a very energetic professor and her attitude is great. However, when it comes to teaching, not so great. Lecture is confusing and not explained well. Lab, is basically figure it out yourself or ask for help and get mad fun of.
Literally one of the worst teachers I've ever had. She is brilliant and definitely knows what she's talking about but it doesn't translate in the classroom. I was struggling in the class and went to her office hours and all she told me was that I must have not been working hard enough. Ended up having to drop the class.
I love Ms. Paula. Shes really funny but also brutally honest. I really believe that shes trying to prepare us to go into a tough university. Yes, the tests are hard. But you get test corrections and you get to use your notes and book on those. You can get back some of the credit on the test and it can boost you a whole letter grade.
With labs every Tuesday and an hour and fifteen minutes of her giving you information to go over yourself every Thursday and you HAVE to study for at least 8 hours for each chapter is ridiculous. You ask for better ways to pass test and she tells you to start studying at a college level not high school. Take a different teacher. No help is given!!!
Ms. Sanders only cares about the labs. You can get correction points for 1/2 a point on the test, but only if you get a 60 or above. If you ask her questions in class she will make you feel dumb in front of your peers, but if you wait until after class to ask her a question, she gets mad at you for waiting and not asking in the actual class.
There are no study guides, and she often puts in questions that cover material either talked about very briefly or not discussed at all. She doesn't hold your hand during the course, which is appreciated up to a certain point. This class was unnecessarily difficult, and seems to have too high of expectations for her students.
Do not take this class if you can't teach yourself. She rushes through the subject material, does a couple of problems, and thinks the class understands what she did. I made it part of the way through the class only because I found a person on youtube that explains the material much better than she does. Dropped the class when youtube failed me.
Ms. Sanders is a very good Biology teacher. Make sure you read your chapter reviews and study vocabulary. I love her class and she is an awesome teacher that really wants to see you succeed.
Mrs. Paula is a difficult teacher; however, she prepares you for further ventures in the world of science. She understands that this is a difficult class and gives her students equal opportunities to earn extra credit/ bonus. She made her expectations very clear from the beginning of the semester. Being present is mandatory for success.
At the beginning, she lectured a lot. Towards the end, not much teaching happened in class at all and it seemed more like a flipped classroom. Studied for HOURS on every test and made Cs on most. For a non-major bio class, it was very demanding.
The worst class that I have ever taken at SU. Adjectives to describe her would be: harsh, unpleasant, impatient, and ruthless. She tries to come across as nice, but on test days her true colors come through. She does not like you to ask questions. She tests you over things that are not in the book or talked about in class. She used to go by Sanders
Mrs. Paula is a very tough teacher and her tests were very hard but she gives the opportunity for test corrections which helps a lot. She definitely prepares you for higher level college courses due to the fact you basically have to teach yourself outside of class. Do your homework for extra bonus points, show that you care, and STUDY HARD!!
Shes very intelligent and knows her stuff. Important to attend class and take notes. Do the connect. It helps a lot! She doesnt like none sense, will joke but not playing around.
Her tests and lab final are impossible. Thankfully, if you make a 60 or above on a test, she will let you do test corrections for half points back. She is a nice lady though, I would recommend.
Where to start is truly the question. This teacher is the worst that I have ever had at Southern Union. Her class is truly a riot. Her teaching method is chaotic and her personality is acrid. Try as you may, if you are not gifted at science, you will have the worst time of your life in her class. She is bitter and harsh. Do not take her.
Do not take her class unless this is your only class and you have no job. She just sits back and plays a 2 minute video and barely gives any notes at all. She told us that we have to study 13 hours PER CHAPTER or else we won't pass. The only reason I finished with an A is because of corona
