I don't know, Paula is ok. Her quizzes, midterm, and final are really random, yet easier than expected. However, she does test on very small details. She needs to get over her angst against the three monotheistic faiths, or, "desert tribe" religions as she calls them. You may want to consider taking someone else if you really want to learn.

Very interesting professor! Tough to follow sometimes, but the class is interesting, and the lectures are very entertaining. Be fully prepared for ALL tests and quizes, one small mistake will drop your score a whole letter grade! I failed one quiz, and then struggled all semester to push my grade up to a B. Class is not as easy as one might assume.

This class was, ahem, different. As far as the class, if you study and put a little effort into the class, you'll do fine. His/Her class is a break from the boring norm. If you get offended easily do not take him/her. He/She is a very pessismitic person but he/she is intelligent despite his ADD tangent. I would take him again.

Class is very intersting. Carrier is very opinionated about the world and believes that it will soon be ending and muslim terrorists will be ruling the world. Not to mention his 'knowledge' of random facts it seems he got from readers digest. If you pay attention to the 45 minutes (out of 3hrs) of actual lecture per class it's pretty easy.

Testing materials in the class for the quizzes, midterm and final are pretty tricky bc they are no where to be found in the book itself but invest in a recorder and record the lectures and you will do fine. Took 2 of Prof. C's courses, and enjoyed both. She is my favorite teacher, and I've had a lot of great college teachers. She uses humor and sharp wit in her lectures, and offers excellent insights into the subject as well as the human condition in general. To do well in tests, study in the assigned books only what is mentioned in lectures.

Prof. P. Carrier is very knowledgeable. She knows her stuff extremely well and can answer all questions you might have. Reading the book is a waste of time, just attend EVERY class and pay attention to every little detail she gives because you might be quizzed on it. Only way to pass is to study what she goes over in class. Never gives homework!

Carrier knows subject well, "unique" character & habits, odd sense of offbeat humor. Never know what she will say, very opinionated! Tests: Fill-In-Blank Final Combo + 2 Essays! Got my 1st "C" ever, Hated Fill-In-Blanks! No Extra Credit. She doesn't seem to care if a student does well or not, NOT willing to change, only waiting for retirement.

She has good sense of humor!! Make sure to listen her lecture (you can record her lecture), and take good notes because what she says in her lecture will be on the quizzes(3 quizzes) and 2-part exams(Midterm and Final). Each quiz has 10 points, and 50 points on mid-term and 50 points on final. You will enjoy her lecture!!!

Carrier is interesting. She's a little crazy but her crazy mannerisms and actions are funny. She cracks jokes that I think are funny, but most don't. You need to write down everything she says, because she will test you on anything that comes out of her mouth, unless she specifies that she isn't. Overall solid. A lot of memorization!

Attend class, it's a MUST! Only tests on her lectures. TEXTBOOK is must. She knows her material well, like she's been saying it over and over for years. Tests are mixed multiple choice, short essay questions, & fill in blank. I went through lecture notes, made flash cards to study important parts. MUST take notes constantly in class.

A majority of the time it feels like you're walking in to take her quizzes exams with a blindfold on. She never tells you what's going to be on the exams & she doesn't seem as helpful. She goes off on tangents a lot, so it may be confusing to know when she wants you to write something down. On a positive note, at least she's a person of her words.

TIP: QUIZLET FLASH CARDS HELP; In fact, for her 101 class, some nerd even did this quizlet . com class 1536879 (no spaces)

Tests are based only on what she lectures and her lectures are very clear. She gets off-topic sometimes, but she makes it clear that its not part of the lessons. Grade is based only on 100+ points, so every quiztest counts significantly. She is one hilarious teacher, telling students lessons in life and what happens in the real world.

Do not take her! She is happy when people drop her class. Lets all the students know that if you went to public school you are stupid. Does not hold her office hours if you need any help. I would gladly take ANY other class than this one. That being said, take good notes if you want to have any chance of passing this class.

Your whole grade depends on your grades on the tests. Does not give any extra credit, no assignments, no homework. If you fail the tests, you fail the class. Gets too off topic sometimes. Gets a little too unecessarily personal with people's beliefs and such. If you're a good test taker, definitely take her.

When it came time to withdraw I considered it, but stuck with the class. I had a D before going into quiz 3 and final. Studied lots & got A on final and quiz 3. Easy A. Just listen to the professor and you'll be prepared for the quizzes. Review notes for the midterm and final. Read textbook if your worried over it. This class is easy, because Prof literally tells you what she might test you on; hence, the quizzes, midterm, and finals are based off of her lectures.

Her entire class is lectured based. So by default, you have the parameters of what may be asked on the quizzes/tests. She may go off on tangents, but you should not be in college if you cannot differentiate between what is relevant and what is not. Attendance is a must, but that makes it easy -- what's your priority, to attend or not attend?

You're graded by 3 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Attendance is crucial for this class, or you could just ask for notes from a friend. She goes off tangent and has a dry sense of humor, but she is incredibly smart and knows what she's talking about. She gets less stringent by the end of the semester. Overall a good professor.

She is honest... I will give her that. However, her humour and personal opinions were distracting and took up more class time than her lectures (which were not the best- you aren't allowed to look at her, and if you do, she will call you out for it). However, this is an EASY class. Barely college level. Minimal effort required if you go to class.

Show up, take notes, you'll pass. The book is useless if you write everything she says, but she wants you to have it and to put your face on it while she lectures, so if you don't want to buy it, just pretend on your tablet. Before the dropping date she WILL check if you're absent, and drop you in case. Quizzes are easy if you study just a little.

If you learn well through rote memorization you will do okay on quizzes, otherwise you will not. You are graded on quizzes, which are multiple choice, and a midterm and final, which include writing details of mythological stories recounted in class. I felt she graded the essays fairly. The quizzes killed me because of my poor rote memory skills.

Prof. Carrier was one of my favorite professors at Miramar. Her cynical sense of humor is not for everyone, but to me she's hilarious. She's super intelligent, and knows what she's talking about. Her lectures will stick with you. She's also very kind when you talk to her one on one. 2 Tests, 3 quizzes, that's it! STUDY HARD!!
