the worst math teacher ever. who the hell give 200 problems of homework. if u like doing 200 problems of hw then take her
If you get on her good side she is an awesome teacher. Stay on track and she'll help you th rest of the way. She goes the extra-mile for her students.
It's very fun in her class. You get to learn different ways to teach math to different ages. Also, her tests vary. It might be individual test, group, group with notes and etc...
She is easy going and thoroughly explains anything that needs clarification. You have to do a lot of vocabulary and homework but it all helps prepare you for the test. Activities are always fun and group work and class participation helps. Overall, excellent instructor.
She's not a bad teacher, but sometimes is unclear in regards to homework. Class is really boring.
pretty easy class, but a few mistakes dropped my grade to a B when it should of been an A, and she goes by the point and not by the content of the person... honestly i was the smartest one in the class, and the whole class knew it but she still gave me a B cuz i left out some trivial stuff, retarded
really know her stuff. and lectures preety well. give u hints on what going to be in the midterm.. lectures for full class time.. i recommend u take her.. very nice and approcable lady.
Can we say issues!! She spend more time talking about personal issues than anything else. If she likes you, you'll get an "A", if not I hope you are okay with a "B" or "C".
Nice lady but does talk a lot about her issues. A lot of homework that is just busy work but is worth a todn towards your grade. The class is pretty boring. But she is easy going & pretty understanding.

Awesome teacher... She really knows all her stuff and is willing to help you with anything... She is especially understanding of student's schedules and if you just talk with her, she will help you with any problems you have... She is a great role model fo
She was a very nice & understanding teacher but she talks a lot about her personal issues. The portfolio at the end of the year is a pain but I didnt' do all of it & I still got a B in the class & math is my worst subject. She allows you to retake the test for half of the points you missed. All & all I would take her over someone else
If you are a boy then she'll love you, probably because she's lonely. I was in her MTED 312 class and hated every moment of it. She does teach well at all. I did not learn ANYTHING from her. Whenever I raised my hand to ask a question she would act like she didn't see me and just ignored me. One time I asked her which way she would like us to
So what she has issues like most individuals. I like her, understood her lectures, and enjoyed doing the comprehensive activities. Do the homework, take home test, and activities and you will get an A/B.
SHe is an awesome lady. I wasn't afraid to ask her questions like all the other math professors. (trust me I took them all) I actually passed her class, which is a miracle for me. YEs, there is a lot of homework, but the tests are reasonable and she helps you a lot. Finally a math teacher who knows what they are doing.
she is very lovely. She teaches the the material and as well lectures on how you would teach in elemantary. She is very helpful, class may be boring, but you get to work on manipulatives. She lets you know what problems are going to be the cset, cbest. Do all your hwk, take good notes, and if you need help she is willing to help you.
very nice and helpful teacher, somewhat of an easy a class
Usually, students will follow a professor lecture and no tfully comprehend it until that "a-ha" moment. With Prof. Granillo, there is no "a-ha" moment becuase you understand every step that she is explaining. I loved her teaching so much that I took all the other classees she taught for kicks! She is the best professor around! TAKE HER!
i had prof. granillo for 2 classes: mted 402 & the geometry class mted 312 (i believe).. she made learning fun, she's so hilarious, & she's a great teacher. although i got a "C" in her class, i screwed up the tests/project etc.. she's definitely a good teacher!! lots of work in class, but you'll gain lots of knowledge when you leave her class.
This class is/was a tough class, but she made it fairly easy to understand. She goes over any questions that you have, and is very helpful. Her tests are not bad if you study.

what can i say? the woman's an idiot.
Granillo has the worst teacher ever, she was a two face to me and ignored me and when I asked for help she did not help me! I would recommend you to not take her, she has her favorites apparently I was not and she claim to not but straight out you can see it! She Even Lied About Me Passing Her Course!
YOU MUST BE AN IDIOT IF YOU DON'T PASS HER CLASS! SHE IS SO EASY, AND GIVES SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO PASS HER CLASS. SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR TO PREPARE FUTURE TEACHERS. TAKE HER FOR ALL MTED COURSES IF POSSIBLE. BUT SERIOUSLY YOU MUST BE A COMPLETE MORON IF YOU CAN'T PASS HER CLASS, DON'T BLAME HER, BLAME YOURSELF! BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND HER.
although the class was easy, i have to agree, she did have her favorites and was a nightmare for the rest of us. try to get on her good side.
Her class wasn't that hard, but she was a horrible math teacher I've ever had. She didn't know what she was talking about. She ALWAYS Always made a mistake, so I was so confused. If u want to pass her class, do ur homework!! Then, u'll be fine.
try to get on her good side or else she will ignores u. she does favorites. her class is so boring. u need to come to the class everyday or else she will gives u a nasty look. she is biase. if u want to pass the class, do the homework and study for the test.
easy class but extremely boring. she spends one whole class period working on one problem!!! not very helpful. hates it when you prove her wrong or ask a question and she doesnt know how to answer so she just makes you feel dumb. when its really her fault. not an overall great teacher but easy class.
worst proffesor i've ever had
if you have a choice dont take her. she is never clear about the assignments, she treats you like youre in her 3rd grade class, and her test are ridiculous
she sucks dont take her horrible
she sucks and plays favorites.. she talks nonsense and confuses you and doesn't get straight to the point she shouldn't be teaching...
don't take her. she is unclear about assignments. she has her favorites in class.
Very caring teacher. Take her class seriously and you'll do great. You'll learn about life as well as math.
I feel like we're in a love/hate relationship. Plays favorites. Her tests cover EVERYTHING from the chapters. She does 'notebook checks'. She does explain the material and will go over anything if asked. Lectures get boring. Takes attendance everyday. She's a tough cookie. Sit by someone fun. She has her good days and bad days and can be rude.
OMG I dont know what all of you are saying! Granillo is the best. It is true though that she has favorites but its not hard to become one, just work hard and act like you care about the career yo are about to have. I have to admit i am one of her favorites, but like i said i just worked hard and showed up to class. I recommend her. SHE IS GREAT!!!!
hated the class if you are late one minute she marks you tardy which is as good as absent so you might as well don't show up...her lectures are so boring and don't make any sense.....she tells you what is exactly what is going to be on the test but there is nothing you can use to study but her notes.
I really did not like her. her tests were pretty much WTF...no one knew exactly how to study for them, and class was a waste of time. she's sweet and all, but she just really surprises you with her stupid exams
I have to admit she is a difficult teacher but she keeps it real! So she has favorites. Don't we all? It's apart of teaching people. Some students you'll absolutely love and others you won't. Regardless of how she may feel about each of her students, she grades fairly and still gets the job done!
i had an F in the class but ended up passing with a C because of the extra credit which is A LOT. her lectures are okay but the tests are DIFFICULT. she is strict when it comes to vocabulary. the notebook checks are the day of the test. assignments given were okay. overall you'll pass the class if you take notes and study for the tests.
She was so chill. If you get a grade lower than an A, you must have NOT paid attention in class. She's the best prof in the department.
HORRIBLE!!! Do not take her. She is rude and unclear. I am convinced that she says things in her head and expects her students to know when things are due or how she wants assignments done. PSYCHO!!
awful
she said her goal for the course was to teach us how to use a MAC, then did not teach it.i found that students got more help from classmates than her.she also explained how to email her,and yet doesn't responded.if you did something wrong due to a misunderstanding, she will bite you head off instead of accepting that there was a miscommunication.
Granillo is a really great professor, you just have to take the time to get to know her (get on her good side). She is one of the best math ed professors and knows her material. If you show you care about your grade she will work with you and take the time out to make the material comprehensible for you.
Mediocre professor, in the least....but it's an easy class. One of her worst traits? She has a badddd case of 'favorite student syndrome'. It is really THAt bad
Very helpful and down to earth
She is good, I won't lie. BUT, she does tend to play favorites. She will grade the ones she likes less harshly. However, the worst part is that towards the end of the semester, the last few assignments are very time consuming and in a way confusing and she rushes through them without explaining with much detail.
I had Granillo for both 110 and 211 and I thought she was GREAT!! A lot of material & a lot of work, but she makes it easier than it seems. Favorite Student Syndrome applies to ANYONE who actually pays attention in class, takes copious notes, and has a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. If you act like you don't care, you put the nail in your own coffin. LOVE HER!
Wonderful teacher! Very helpful with actual experience to relate to the material. Lectures get a tad long, but she's fun. Learned a LOT! Very fair grader and genuinely cares about her students. She took the effort to try and learn everyone's names and address us all by name.
Great professor. Take her if you want to become a good teacher
Sweetest professor, so helpful and nice. very helpful. I suck at math & passed every exam with at least a C, and didn't have to take the final. Good at reviewing and wants you to pass. TAKE HER.
Horrible teacher. Takes frustration out on students, explains things in the most confusing way possible. Class was a waste and tests were hard compared to homework. Most dreaded coming to class, also disrespectful if someone politely corrects her, she's rude. Has excuses for EVERYTHING. All around awful, change professors if you get her...
Granillo is sometimes unclear of what assignments are due and when they are due, but when it comes to actual content, her class is very easy. I honestly don't know how people find her tests difficult; they come straight out of the activities and homework you do in class. If you don't understand something, I highly recommend going to office hours.
Super nice, reminds me of a mom. Very helpful and wants you to pass! She goes over any questions you have, just ask. HW is collected at the end of the week and makes her own quizzes & midterms. Take her, she's a wonderful professor.
Her class is interesting, not hard at all but very time consuming!
Terrible professor. Tests are way too difficult. The majority of the class fails.
She's a really sweet professor, she just wants you to pass. If you try, there is no way you should fail this class. She's very clear about what's on the test, so it's not hard to get at least a B on each exam. Most students don't like her, but I personally enjoyed this class.
Professor Granillo is so sweet. She honestly just wants to see all her students pass. She gives tons of extra credit but although many students don't like her, i was quite pleased with her class.
I don't recommend this stats class. Makes you do online hw assignments that don't correspond to what she teaches in class. Sometimes she even tells the class to disregard what the online hw teaches, but still makes us do it. Her tests ask questions that she has never gone over with the class. She's a nice lady but goes off topic a lot of the time.
Well there are a few things you need to know before taking this class. The professor is terrible, you may learn more from the homework and book. The class is actually pretty easy, but you have to do a lot of independent studying to pass. Mandatory online homework, 3 Exams, and a Final. Would not have taken it if it wasn't mandatory
Although she is a very nice person, I really did not like the way she taught. She went very slow and did not make very much sense. She confused me so much during class, and her homework was different from what she taught in class. However, she did give a lot of extra credit which helped A LOT. The extra credit got me an A in the class.
AVOID HER IF YOU CAN. She cannot teach whatsoever. 47218 students passed her midterms. Although she offers a lot of extra credit. She is just not a good teacher and often gets her own examples wrong on the board. All homework is online where she is lenient on due dates
The class is 3 Chapter tests and a cumulative final. All the homework is online because the class was about 300 people. She's always available to help and answers emails pretty well. She has a great sense of humor and is like a grandma kindness level.
She is really confusing as far as explaining how she wants things. When it comes to tests you actually should study bc you will do worse than you expect, but she has you retake it and gives you back half the points. Participation matters to know what is going on and as a grade booster, so participate. Lots of homework&vocab&theorems be prepared
She was a sweet lady but her due dates were way too confusing. She would suddenly tell our class something was due and only 2 people had it ready. But she is fair enough to accept late work. Her tests were kind of difficult but she let you correct it for half the points you missed. If you try, you'll pass but maybe not with an A.
Most students in my class believe she can be condescending. Her input can be valuable but she talks down on you a lot. I am writing this in the middle of the semester after I noticed her harping on a specific student the whole class time. I didn't see any reason for that behavior. It was really annoying. Otherwise, the class is easy as of week 5.
Avoid her if you can. She doesn't follow her own syllabus. Is VERY UNCLEAR with due dates or test dates. And her lectures are long and VERY boring. You don't use the textbook in class, but you will need it to do the homework.
She didn't pass out the course survey at the end of the semester. It's almost like she knew the class was going to give her a bad review and didn't want to department to know what a terrible job she's doing.
DO NOT TAKE HER!! I thought I was doing well In the class, but she never told us our grades and I was actually FAILING the class. I emailed her multiple times asking if she could explain my grades and she NEVER got back to me and completely avoided me when I tried talking to her in person. I took the class again and got an A with someone else.
Vocabulary 50pts, Activities/worksheets 150pts, Homework 100pts, quizzes/projects 200pts, exams 300pts, final 200pts. Vocabulary for math? I know! We did not have quizzes and each exam is worth 100pts. Throughout the semester you don't know what's your grade. She is boring and doesn't teach! She taught 1 problem for 2 hours! once. She is a joke!!
She is basically an old grandma who is partially insane. A few quotes are "I can taste my brains" and "bagels are cereal." She is the MOST unclear professor I have ever had. She assigns like 13 pages of homework and says we asked for it. The assignments themselves aren't difficult, just listening to her go on and on about random stuff is horrible.
This class probably should just be purely online, since you only need to use the computer and yourself. The first 2-3 weeks is pretty useful, then the rest of the semester is a drag. The work is isn't hard at all but very tedious and time consuming. Just do what she asks, and you should pass. Don't lag your assignments till the end, they will pile.
She's pretty vague on when homework, tests, and etc are due and when they need to be taken. She doesn't follow syllabus schedule and her lecture is all over the place at times. Despite this, she's nice and the class is easy. She let's you turn in late work, lets you do test corrections for extra credit but it will only count if you pass the final.
This class was easy, however, the professor made it harder than it had to be. She was extremely unorganized and was not clear on what she wanted from us, making a large majority of the class confused. Very "my way or the highway" kind of person. A nice lady for sure, but definitely not the best professor. Avoid her if you can.
She's very nice. Her tests are extremely easy in comparison to homework. The only complaint I have is that her syllabus is not in line with her lectures, and we didn't even finish all that was on it. She lets you correct projects, worksheets and tests, so if you try then there shouldn't be a reason why you don't get at least a B!
Yes she may give you an attitude especially if you are rude to her, and she may be disorganized, but in general she is kind and caring. She gives you plenty of time to do all the work. There's no excuse for not getting an A or a B. Show her you're respectful, responsible, and if you're struggling go to her office hours. Show her that you put effort
I've had her for 3 different classes & I still am unsure of how to get an A. The class is very long and is incredibly lecture heavy, and she talks in circles. She is not clear about what she expects from you, especially on exams and projects. Keep an organized binder, like in elementary school. She grades just as hard on organization as content.
DO NOT TAKE HER.
If you put in the effort to do the work , this class is no problem.
If you put in the effort to do the work , this class is no problem. She gives extra credit, and is very helpful.
I've taken two classes with her already and although she may be all over the place at times, the class is fairly easy. Just show that you put in effort into all that's assigned and keep yourself organized. She lets you re-do assignments for more points. It's honestly hard to pass the class with anything lower than a B.
This is honestly the worst teacher anyone could possibly have. She makes lessons more complicated than they have to be and tells you to "read the syllabus" when she doesn't even follow it. If you want to actually learn/get an A, avoid her at all costs! I'd rather slam my foot at the edge of my bed than take her class again.
Paula is a sweet woman, but a horrible professor. She does allow group tests some times and does allow you to do test corrections where you will receive half of the points you missed back. She also allows late work all year. However, she teaches methods incorrectly sometimes and won't own up to mistakes. If you don't have to take her, DON'T!!!!
Granillo doesn't teach in the normal lecture fashion. Mostly she expects you to do HW, and ask for help if you need it. However, she does give detailed reviews and is extremely helpful. She allows you to do test corrections for half credit. She accepts late work and is extremely flexible. Kind woman, and a great teacher, I would recommend!
Lectures: Based on textbook. Midterms: Based practice exams she gives. Gave pop quizzes but, they were just one or two problems. Final: based off practice exam. u can get C's on midterms and get above C on hw and pass with a B or A. Can come off as chill or have slight attitude. Beware: She doesn't post grades until the final grade.
Don't fall back on turning in HW & projects & test revisions. V funny & v nice teacher but don't take advantage. Will call you out in class if you're doing work for other class/talking. V easy going as long as you don't try to abuse her niceness. Textbook required. She is never in her office. If you want to talk to her go to MTED tutoring lab.
Very sweet lady, also very knowledgeable when it comes to math. She doesn't give you an average lecture, she kind of just introduces topics and works through problems related to the topic. Homework is due the day of the test, and it can build up quickly if you put it off. A bulk of the points are in the projects and exams so it helps to do well.
Great professor if you do all your homework you should be able to pass this class.
one of the easiest Math 111 professors. allows for test corrections after every exam and also allows you to use notecards for the final and exams. other professors make you memorize the material. she gives three pop quizzes and takes attendance. also always extends the webassign homework and reopens all the webassigns during finals
Shes an old school type of teacher. We had lots of worksheets to do. We used a binder to organize vocab, activities, hmk, Projects, etc and those count as a lot of points. There were about 4 exams that werent too bad. She lets you do test corrections which is great. Shes a nice teacher, not a tough grader. If you do that then youll get an A/B.
Ive taken her twice. Shes easy, however shes also not my favorite. She also has a service dog so beware if you take her. Shes very lenient and will let you do test corrections. Likes hw as well as vocab done a certain way.
WORST CLASS AND PROF. I took her for 8am and takes attendance. She is so strict on her vocabulary and needs it exactly her way or the highway. She allows test corrections, but is harsh on that. If it's not how she wants it, no points. Insanely disorganized and unclear. Stickler on the smallest things and doesn't post grades. worst class.
Professor Granillo is the best math teacher I have taken by far in any math course. Her class is 3 exams, in which she uses different way to grade your understanding. In my class we did individual and groups exam. As well as creating a vocabulary list is a big part of your grade. But it is easy to do. Her style of teaching is different and helpful.
Professor Granillo was absolutely understandable and caring due to the drastic change to remote learning. She honestly cares for her students. If you do all your work and study for the exams, you'll definitely pass the class. She cares for students and gives lots of feedback. She gives you ideas of what things you can do with your students.
She is a caring professor, but is very disorganized. She allows all homework to be turned in at the end of the semester, which is very nice of her. However, her lectures are confusing and does not give out many instructions for her assignments. I am glad that the material we are covering is not difficult or else I would be struggling.
She does not give lectures, does not record zooms, and basically doesn't teach. She does not respond to emails so don't try to contact her. She gives students attitude when they ask questions. You basically have to read the entire text book and learn the material that way because miss girl is no help.
This professor never respond to my email and I never speak to her personally for any help she would get mad if I ask her for help so much homework that's not helpful to the exams off topics alot and she doesn't not make this class effectively I would not take her ever again
She is very rude; I would ask a question and she would answer in a condescending tone. She is also very dull. Its a very easy class though; she does notes in class, sometimes discussion posts, and gives reviews for quizzes and exams which is just like the actual exams. She accepts late work and redo of exams. Just do your web-assign hw.
Class is easy, but thats only if you study on your own the webAssign. Her teaching is mediocre and shes the first teacher I know that has problems on webAssign that have only 1 attempt. Would recommend seeking another instructor if you can.
Nice professor. However, my advice is to to complete your work and to not miss class. If you fall behind, the work will definitely pile up. She accepts late work until the day of the final for credit. She can be a tough grader if you do not do assignments the way she wants them. Attendance is mandatory and a huge part of your grade! Average
Love her. Taken her for all three of my math required classes. She allows you to turn in homework for full credit no matter how late it is. She is very funny and understanding. As long as you follow along with her notes, you should be good.
Professor Granillo understands content well and takes the time to ensure you understand the material. I suggest speaking up when confused though, or else she'll assume you understand. Her office hours are extremely helpful! She wants you to pass as much as you want to pass.
She is not so good with technology and the whole class is online material. Very chill but maybe way too chill. Very slow teaching and the material in class does not match up with the homework you have to do at home most of the time. Get ready to teach yourself. Loads of homework on Cengage and everything is due at the end of semester.
Literally the most boring professor I've had so far. You'd think that if a professor is going to teach an 8 am class they would at least attempt to make it somewhat interesting. She also has a bit of a snarky attitude when responding to questions as if it isn't her job to help students learn and she doesn't even answer the questions clearly.
This class is a joke. This class is more about re learning the subject matter so that you can teach geometry when you do become a teacher. The problem with this class is that she talks to you like you're 9 years old again. When the majority of class is skipping or leaving after 30 minutes thats bad. Takes phone calls during class btw STAY AWAY!!!!!
Professor Granillo was not a pleasant experience at all. She is condescending when you respond to questions that you respond to in class and even if you respond with the correct answer she will act as if you got the question wrong and then state what she thinks the correct answer is.Her lectures are slow and boring and she is not a pleasant teacher
Professor Granillo is not a pleasant professor. She is condescending when you respond to her questions and doesn't value your response. No matter your response she will say what she thinks is the correct answer. Her lectures are extremely boring and she doesn't allow you to discuss material she is teaching with your peers.
Could've been an asynchronous class because of how little she teaches that goes on the homework and the quizzes. The homework is not so bad, but daunting when you have to teach yourself how to solve it.
Professor Granillo has a unique teaching style that takes some adjusting, but if you engage with the material and use helpful study tools like Unstuck AI, you can succeed in the class. Attendance is key, so don't skip.
