She's really awesome. This was my second time trying to pass calc, she made it so much easier for me. She's very organized, knows what she's doing, and is super helpful both in class and during office hours. I wish I could take her for 193 but she's not teaching it. Show up, pay attention, put in effort and you'll be fine. Definitely recommend!

She doesn't just explain HOW to do something but WHY you are doing it, which makes everything easier to understand. HW is pretty straight forward, and helps you prepare for pop quizzes which she sometimes tells you ahead of time. Practice tests are incredibly helpful and prepare you well for the tests. She's pretty easy on the eyes too.

She is an amazing teacher. Her lectures really help, and she is very easy to understand. very helpful if you ask questions. She is not an easy teacher. Her tests are hard and her grading is harder. she is a good teacher, but make sure you are on top of everything. Her quizzes are from the homework so make sure you do homework.

She is the best math teacher that I have ever met. Her lecture is amazing and never let you feel boring. All quizzes are from homework and she will give you the practice test before the real test. If you have any questions, she will always be there for you no matter in class or after class. I like her very much.

Absolutely my favorite math teacher. I've had a lot through out the years and she takes the cake. She is always wiling to help and is extremely kind and knowledgeable about math. She doesn't allow cell phone usage and doesn't like students talking over her. The way she grades is also amazing. I am actually learning in her class and I am grateful.

I HATE MATH! But the way Paula gets excited about teaching and helping students, has made me enjoy it. She goes over and above helping students. She wants her students to succeed. She does "written" homework. She also takes time to review problem areas on tests. She does ask for attention and mutual respect. Definitely recommend! Would take again.

Nice, but kind of deceiving. The homework is easy, its paper homework which is good for me since it saved me the $100 for the code. Tests and quizzes are non standard questions. Tests are problems never covered in class, but study guide is given and its a good test of the actual exam. DO THE STUDY GUIDE!

She is so kind and she makes everything so clear. Homework everyday from the textbook, but each is only worth about 3 points. Grade is mainly participation and exams, but if you miss class and keep her updated, she will work with you and make sure you get through. Definitely my favorite professor thus far and would take again!

Goes over any questions from the previous night's homework in the first half of class and walks you through how and WHY that is the answer. As long as you take notes and follow along as she teaches, you'll pass with flying colors. AMAZING TEACHER

Paula Leon-Bravo is hands-down the best professor I've ever taken! Her class is not easy, put in the work and you will learn a lot! She gives lot's of homework but at least is written homework so you don't have to buy an accesscode. Overall I do recommend her to anyone who truly wants to learn math!

I've never been good at math, but the way she teaches really clicks for me. I love going to her class. She obviously really cares about her students, and does everything she can to help all of us review before tests, even though it's not required of her. I would recommend her to anyone, and I am definitely taking my next math class with her.

Calculus sucks but she makes it 100x better. Lectures are super clear, homework due every class bc she believes you learn by doing problems. Quizzes are 2 problems taken from the hw so always make sure you understand the hw. The class before an exam she tells us whats on the test and what hw problems we should go over. Easy B lol work for the A tho

Best math professor i have ever had. I took her for 192 also. She still does paper homework which is sooo much better than WebAssign. Lecture is super clear and she does tons of examples. Quizzes are straight from the homework (she only does odd problems so solutions are in the back). Prepares us for every exam and is super accessible.

Before I hated Math classes, but after her classes I love it. She is fantastic and cares about her students; SUPER organized wich I appreciate. She explained super good. She makes you work hard, but it worth it. Be ready for LOTS OF HW. Highly recommend.

I didn't need to buy a textbook because I went to the library after class to do my hw, I passed with an A. She's nice and tries to make sure everyone understands.

I really don't prefer Math and took her class to just as a pre-req but it was a very good class! She teaches passionately, has routine classwork/homework, and is definitely fair. She gives a couple exams and an accumulative final but as long as you go often, you'll be fine. Glad I had her and am taking her again for Math-120!

She is such a nice lady! She has a very structured class. Basically, every day there is a new lesson, homework and classwork on that lesson, and a quiz/test every few weeks. She is super easy to follow along with but does give homework every class. As long as you stay on top of the homework and do well on quizzes, you'll pass. Shes very helpful!

You will be swamped with homework weekly. However, she is an AMAZING teacher and you will master the subject if you put in the work. Her lectures are long, but very detailed and easy to follow. Hw is online, don't procrastinate on it. Practice the exam study guides. GO TO CLASS so material is made easier to follow. Do this and you will pass!

Leon-Bravo is the best math professor I've ever had! Her lectures are very organized. Homework is required weekly but doing it helps you learn. Her exams/quizzes are exactly from the examples she covers in class & directly from the textbook. & she gives tons of extra credit throughout the semester. Don't hesitate to take her class, she's the best!

Professor Leon-Bravo is awesome. Keep up with the work and try the best that you can and you will get a passing grade. She's really cool and will do what she can to help you pass (ex. office hours, practice exams, LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT.)

Really great professor who honestly does put effort in her work. While math isnt easy, she does whatever she can to make sure you understand what she teaches. Goes extremely into depth over hard topics. Definitely recommend her for anyone who needs help with math!

Take her if at all possible. She made me actually like math. She gives extra credit opportunities which add roughly 5% to your test grade. Super nice and helpful. Always kept us informed and on track. If you really stay on top of it and dont have a demanding job outside of class you can get an A surely. Arguably the best teacher I've had.

If you like lectures, take her! Personally I like mainly lectures for math classes and every lecture was very clear and helped convey each topic with ease. Lots of homework though, so be prepared for that

She is probably the best Pre-Calc teacher I've had so far. She helps you out with anything you need help on. I just don't like the Knewton app that we did the homework on (which is mandatory), but it did help me understand topics better. Sometimes she gives extra credit that goes towards your exam, which helps a lot. I totally recommend her class!

For exams study all the worksheets and the review she gives. If she gives them. Her exams are the same stuff from the review, but with different numbers. If you understand those then you will be good. Lots of homework, but it really helps. Knewton sucks. Always available during her office hours. Go to them if you are confused. Really helped a lot.

Uses Knewton for class, costs 10$ a month, homework graded on completion and theres really helpful reviews so all exams and quizzes are easy. Prof is understanding and you can always email her for help.

Professor Leon-Bravo is probably the best math instructor I have ever had. She teaches you starting with the basics and NEVER assumes that everyone already is familiar with the material she is teaching. Everything is broken down, she uses Newton which might seem a bit too much at first but just do it because they are similar to what's on the tests.

Algebra 2, pre-calc, calc. Really nice but always goes through step by step, even though you learned it in like pre-algebra. Downside is she expects same from you for exams. Literally show 1+12. Somehow ahead in lessons than other professors (I know b/c I went to S.I thinking we were behind). Really good lecturer-don't pay attention & still get A.

I've taken Pre-Calc and Calc 1 with professor Leon-Bravo. She's the best online teacher I've had. She understands Canvas and technology. Her teaching style makes it easy to know what is expected of you as a student, no surprises. If you watch the lectures, do the HW and CW, you should do very well on exams.

TAKE HER!! She is amazing at explaining things that just don't make sense. Her practice exams are very similar to her exams and final but with different numbers. 3 total exams and 1 final. This semester she gave a quiz each week but it was easy. It was from the lectures. Not tricky at all. Easy points. But you have to watch the lectures!

She will go above and beyond to ensure her students fully understand the concepts behind every math equation. She is also accommodating when students have legitimate reasons, for not being able to take a quiz on time. Take her if you get the chance.

Professor Leon-Bravo has been by far my favorite math professor. She is very clear on her expectations from students and fair overall. Great lectures that may be long but her love for math and helping her students learn is very evident. This is a challenging class but professor Leon-Bravo goes above and beyond to help you succeed.

Professor Leon-Bravo has truly been one of the best professors I have taken in my whole educational career. She is clear, understanding, and flexible for her students. The lectures were easy to follow and I learned substantial material. Professor Leon-Bravo made learning into something I wanted to do. And for math- that is a very difficult task.

Clear lectures, easily understandable, flexible due dates, genuinely cares about students, lenient grader, and knows how to control a class (in a positive way!). The easiest math class I've ever taken; I'm not smart by any means, she's just an amazing professor. She literally makes it impossible to not get an A. I WISH I could take her again!

Took this prof during the summer for a 6-week session and honestly loved her. The workload was heavy but her lecture videos are amazing along with the notes. Lengthy but helpful and breaks down the steps of each problem.

I took pre-calculus this prof during summer 2020. Three exams and five quizzes totally and Newton is the main software. All exam and quiz questions are from the homework, just practice and memory the solution as possible as you can, then you will get A.

She's great. I took an in-person class with her, and she's very clear in teaching. Super kind and will definitely assist you if you need help with the material. She does give homework every week and they are meant to be done in a one week timeframe. But she allows notes on quiz and exams. Can't recommend her enough!

Absolutely loved her! Honestly one of the best professors at DVC imo. She really cares about her students and their comprehension of the material. Her lectures are long, but they are very clear and informative. For some, she may move a bit fast, but there's a lot of material to cover. Also, exams were oftentimes more challenging than expected.

10/10! Professor Leon-Bravo made everything really easy to understand and was helpful all the time. Her lectures were well organized and easy to follow. The web assign homework was relatively easy to complete, but can take accouple of hours. I recommend doing it on the same day so they don't stack up. Overall, I could not recommend her enough! :)

Professor Leon Bravo delivers crystal clear lectures in a very interesting manner. I have a lot of respect for her and am glad I took her class. Although I did not get the grade I had hoped for and wish her grading changes, she was a great person to have as a professor. Thank you for everything!

She's the best math prof I've ever had. She's very helpful and taught Calc 2 as though you don't know much about Calc. If you miss lectures, it's hard to learn it yourself. She has a normal amount of hw and 3 exams which are straight from the hw, lectures, and study guides. It's hard like a normal calc class but she makes it understandable.

GREAT TEACHER calc 2 is hard and fast-paced but she just has a great way of explaining and structuring lectures that were very easy to absorb in my opinion. hw due every week and if you didn't do it you can't take the quiz- which is also weekly. makes you need to check for correctness before the quiz extra review you never fall behind.

Best math professor I have ever had. Took calc 2 fall 2021 in person. She took quiz problems from the homework and you could have it open. Whole 8x11 paper of notes for tests and gave multiple extra credit opportunites. Her lectures were super organized and posted before class if you want. Tests were based on lecture/homework so no surprises

I've struggled with pre-calc for an embarring amount of semesters (it's very depressing) and she's been the first teacher I've had who was able to make me understand. She makes note templates that you can print out and fill out during lectures which are really useful. The tests are based on the worksheets she gives out and so to studying is easy.

Lovely teacher. Even though this class was self paced, she was always there to help and wants her students to succeed. Don't get behind on your Knewton Alta lessons and quizzes! They really start to pile up on you if you skip them. You have to take 5 tests, and they all need to be taken in person and in a little room. So really know the material.

Professor Leon-Bravo is fantastic! After the pandemic classes went in-person instead of online, she opened up a special online class to help us who live too far away to finish. When I got stuck during class, she broke down difficult math concepts in a way that I could understand them. She regularly checked our progress and helped us stay on track.

Great professor for Math-192/191. Lectures are great as she will go in-depth if asked and gives a 10-minute break in class. A worksheet is due every day for 3pts, a short quiz once a week, and HW is due weekly. Open office hours for 1 on 1 help. 3 exams + a final but gives extra credit on exams and a notecard. Will take her again for a 3rd semester

Professor Bravo is great. Very nice and always wanting to help her students. Math has always been my worst subject and she really takes the time to explain what we are learning instead of rushing through lectures. Homework due once a week, tests are just like the worksheets you get in class. Definitely go to her lectures or its easy to fall behind.

Honestly one of the best math professors I have ever had. Her lectures made everything so easy to understand. She gives a decent amount of homework, but it is all really useful in the long run. Her tests aren't extremely difficult, and I plan on taking her again if I get the chance!

She is a good professor and is so caring but SP math is such a flop. I had to withdraw from the course for health reasons and she really helped me navigate the withdrawal process. She is also really inspiring and told me many stories about how she transferred from a cc to UC Berkeley.

Really happy I took her class. Lectures are really clear and she would go through multiple examples for each lesson. Each lecture ended with a worksheet that you get credit for. The worksheets really help for exam prep. Worksheets can be challenging but they are more difficult than the exams. You'll do well if you do your homework and worksheets.

At DVC, Paula Leon is considered the best math teacher. Her students find her classes enjoyable due to her dedication and organized approach to teaching.

Most success I've had in a math class before.

If you want an A in calc 1 or calc 2 take her or Mohan. Professor Bravo gave out worksheets and practice tests that would contain problems very similar to the problems on the test. She even gave extra credit on a few tests for completing the worksheets beforehand. Because of this, the tests were fairly easy which make up nearly your entire grade.

She's amazing and was glad to help. Practice exams before every test and the problems were almost the same. She even asked students to come earlier to review right before the final. Almost every point she mentioned was included in the final! Just do all the homework and be familiar with them and you'll succeed!

One of the best math professor at DVC. She makes math understand and fun to learn. Prior to taking her class I didn't have a math class for a year and a half but she made the class easy to understand. Overall homework wasn't hard and the exam weren't either. Three exam and one final. Overall I would recommend taking her if you struggle with math.

Professor Leon-Bravo is an amazing teacher - clear on her lectures and expectations. She has class templates, which makes it easy to follow along, especially for those of us who are neurodiverse. I highly recommend her for any math course based on her syllabus and teaching style. I struggle with math, but I'm eager to take her classes.

I wasn't even in her class this summer, I have Cherkassy, and emailed her for access to her lecture videos for Calculus I because I was struggling. She was incredibly kind and went out of her way to send me the links to all of them. Her videos are EXTREMELY helpful, well-organized, and condense textbook material really well. She teaches amazingly.
