Do the WebAssigns and you will understand the material. She is a good teacher!
not very helpful when you don't understand the material
Explains the material very well! I reached a state of Eurika learning Chemistry in her class. I would recommend her in a heart beat, in fact, I'm taking her for CHEM 2, haha!
Great lab teacher. helps students greatly when needed and allows them to figure things our on their own so they learn more 'hands-on'.
Disappointed with the experience. She often explains material in a rushed manner and often does not clarify difficult concepts. Does not encourage questions outside class, so expect to rely on the book for clarification…a lot. She is very strict with lab ending times so expect to be rushed!
Very welcoming for questions outside of class. She will try very hard to help you understand the material. I loved her class.
Her teaching is really organized. As long as you do the homework and suggested questions, you will be fine in the test. She is very nice in person
Tests are fairly easy IF you study and do the suggested problems. Grading is fair. Really nice.
um-hum,um-hum That's what you'll be hearing from her all the time! However she is a good teacher.
Uhm HU
I enjoyed her class. Very open to questions, and willing to help you understand the material. Grading is fair, though sometimes nit-picky on certain material. I would recommend her, though. Very nice lady.
Teaching needs some help, good personality
I took 1211 and 1212 with her. I really enjoy her class, I thought it was pretty hard, but I would take her again for another class just because I like the way she teaches.
Rude, needs to be a little more helpful. She will say ummhm so much it will make you suicidal
Does not spoon feed you information in lab, but you'll remember those techniques always and be well prepared for any labs to come. One of the most helpful professors that I have ever had. Just stop by and she will answer questions and explain if you don't understand! One of the best professors that I ever had!
Overall a great professor and very good at relating the material to the class. She definitely shows appreciation for those that care about making a good grade...so you earn what you get. She's just blunt and doesn't have time to deal with the stupid questions that some students tend to ask.
difficult class. I'm a A student but I was happy with my B. Nolibos is always available but you have to know what questions to ask. Every day was an all-nighter
She is very clear on what she is talking about, and she also curves grades if the class does poorly on a test or anything else. I got a C, but that's mainly because I am not good at chemistry in general. I would take her over professor thomas.
Had her for 1211 and 1212 and both labs. Webassigns were very hard and took all night most of the time. Tests in 1212 were much harder. Keep up in lecture, read as much as you can, and do the suggested problems, they are are the tests. Very time consuming, dont fall behind! Got an A in 1211 but a C in 1212
I CAN NOT STAND THIS WOMAN! SHE WILL DO ANYTHING SO THAT YOU WILL NOT SUCCEED. DO NOT TAKE
Best teacher I've ever had
She is not the most helpful professor. She easily gets in a bad mood and acts like her class is the only class on our schedule.
She is very demanding professor so keep up with assigned work. She is useless in helping students in lab and is very rude. The time and quantity of work outweighs the benefits of learning the material properly. People who understands chemistry well tend to overate the professor in a possitive way. So,Choose your poison wisely!lol.

very hard teacher! also demanding. Web assigns are too many in number & too time consuming. Just all around a very demanding teacher and class!!!
Avoid the Chemistry department at all costs! Not a good group to deal with!
Avoid this Dr. Nolibos at all costs!!!! Absolutely the worst experianece I have ever had in any college class!
She tries to help, but does not clearly project material. Make sure ask the right questions. It is not impossible to make a good grade in her class, but it is demanding and your schedule would have to revolve around her class. Comparing to the previous professors I have had in chemistry, she is by far the worst.
Not the nicest professor. She tries to be fair and cools a little of her nerves after the last day to withdraw when 60% of the class disappears and 40% is brave enough to chem funding the chemistry department.I should have took others advice.Hopefully, you'll take mine.
I think this professor has gotten a bad wrap but she is a great teacher who will take time to show you how to work a problem. the people who rated this professor as tough were probably slackers. she teaches science major level chemistry so her classes are not designed to be slack classes, as long as you pay attention and do your work you can make
Dr. Nolibos is a great teacher who loves to help when it's needed. She is very clear at teaching, and very easy to understand. I look forward to two courses with her next semester!
UH-HUH. Never have I been more stressed and taxed by one single class. The workload is impossible to manage if you have other difficult classes or have a job. She's EXTREMELY difficult. Would not recommend to anyone. The good reviews were probably written by her. She's THAT type.
Great teacher that appreciates her subject matter. This teacher likes chemistry and takes her class seriously. If you are interested in science and chemistry this teacher will be a good fit for you.
She is one of the best professor in chemistry department. She is clear with explanations, and solving problems. You will learn the basic things in Chem with her class. And she is easier than Dr Howell ,both are good though. Highly recommend to take her class to learn basic Chem. ( She graded fairly)
abosolutely the worst teacher I have ever had. She does not lecture and explains everything terribly. Also her webassign's are close to impossible. Do not take her class.
I took chem 1212 summer session. It was the first time in college that I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. Her class was one of the hardest, but the material was difficult . Although I did not do as well as expected, 6 months later I still remember everything. She will not give you an easy A.But we shouldn't expect easy A's in college.
She is willing to explain, the only problem is that whenever you need help she is never available in her office. Her tests are made up of questions that you have never seen before but she says are similar to stuff we have covered...YEA Right..Take her only if you are willing to do a lot of outside study time (5-15 hrs a wk extra)just for her class
She's a great teacher when it comes to Chemistry. Chemistry is not an easy subject; however she explains it really well. I studied my butt of for the class and I still got a B.
Dr. Nolibos is very good at what she does. She explains one of the hardest subjects at the school in a way that everyone understands it, and if they don't she will explain it further. Make sure you do the web assigns (that was the reason for my B instead of an A in the class) and she'll help you out with them if you dont get it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Dr. Nolibos is great. I had her for chem 1212 and now I'm in her analytical class. She is very smart and helpful. Having a teacher like her is what you want when your major is chem; you're going to learn something and you need to work for it. She's not fond of slackers but maybe you should change your habits if this scares you instead of trading.
Dr. Nolibos is an amazing teacher! She explains everything clearly and teaches all the material; unlike some teachers that make you teach yourself. I would take her class again if I could. Awesome handwriting too!! Definitely TAKE HER CLASS!!!
Brilliant teacher! Very easy to follow; she explains it somehow so that it all makes sense. If someone in the class doesn't quite get it, she will explain it further. It's alot of work, but the only way to "get it" is by doing it. She does all she can to help you, in and out of class. Quick to reply to emails too. Awesome class!
HARD!!!HARD!!!HARD!!! This is a community college, not a private university. Her class is way too difficult!! You won't have time to study for your other classes if you take her. Avoid at all costs!!!
It's not Nolibos that is hard, it's chemistry. It is alot of work, but you're in college, and no one is supposed to hold your hand. I have other chemistry professors, and trust me, it's all hard & alot of work. I'm glad to have a professor like Nolibos to clarify it for me.
She will make you feel like you are the most retarded person if you ask a question. That's the only thing that I didn't like about her,but overall she is a good teacher.
Not personable at all although willing to re-explain if you visit her during office hours. DO NOT expect any kind of sympathy or emotions. No curves, no extra credit, no "bumps" . I recommend taking Thomas.
ive been to lab class once and have begun considering leaving the college as a whole b/c of how rude she was to me. i attempted to ask a simple yes or no question and she asked another faculty member to bar my entrance into the lab room which i had no intention of entering due to improper dress. she even said well your not staying here.over a prela
She is hard. She explains the subject well. Her test are hard. She is a rude female dog when it comes to asking a simple question.
Great person. Awful teacher. Get ready to devote all of your being to this class. In the end you might pass, but it is not likely you will make anything higher than a "C." Would not recommend her if you have a choice.
This is the hardest teacher I have ever had!! I was making straight A's until her class - now I'm praying for a C!! Not very friendly either. Unhelpful and impolite. Huge amounts of outside work with no explanation of how to do it! NO time for other classes.
I took her 1151 lab and it wasnt too bad. if you try you will get a good grade. when you finish lab she lets you leave and there are no homework assignments. she doesnt let you make up work or correct anything. If you're not in class right on time she will mark 10 pts off lab. She shows you what to do but you are pretty much on your own.
I just love all there ratings on how hard of a teacher she is. I had her for many chemistry classes and I will say the clsss was difficult; but if you show some interest in the class and do the reading and homework, then you will do fine. She gives you all the material you need to succeed in the class and is willing to help if you if you ask.
Tough class, but Dr Nolibos is very fair and prepares you for the exams! Great teacher!
She is very helpful. Always there when you need help. Highly recommend this professor. Took Organic I with her!! Best chemistry professor at UNG.
She is great! I took Ochem II in the July-mester (only 14 days of class. She stayed after every day with us until six and gave worksheets that were very realistic to the tests. I would definitely recommend taking her!!!
One of the best chemistry teachers I've had at this school, and I've had pretty much all of them. Super helpful and always available for help, she made passing organic chemistry 1 possible for me. Extremely into teaching and loves the subject. Could not have asked for a better teacher.
Organic 2 is a monster. It had taken many of my comrades. Casualties everywhere. But Dr. Nolibos makes passing this class possible. She stays after every day with students to help them and always bases her tests off of lecture material and worksheets. Easily one of the most committed teachers I've ever seen. If you're lazy, good luck.
Dr. Nolibos is a saint! She is sarcastic sure, she can appear to be intimidating, BUT i have NEVER experienced another professor who is more willing to help any student. No matter how dumb the question. There have been times she has LEFT her home to come back to the school to answer one question for me. DON'T listen to anyone saying negative things
Dr. Nolibos is the best!! You won't find a smarter or more talented professor than her. This is the best class ever for learning O Chem
OK so chemistry is hard but she makes it harder than it needs to be. Very confusing and unhelpful. She will tell you the lab assigment and then disappear. She leaves the student assistant in the lab to help you but she is no where to be found if you have questions that cannot be answered. Self taught chemistry lab and she will vonfuse you more.
Took o Chem I over short session with Dr. Nolibos. Bad idea. Although she does stay after, she would literally ignore questions that I would ask her while she sat in on the study group. The material she lectures will be extremely different from what will appear on the test. She can be very rude at times if anyone questions anything she says.
I took Dr. Nolibos over summer short session. She CAN teach but don't ask questions in class because she will make you feel like an idiot. Labs are tedious and expects a thorough conclusion to get full credit. Kinda of a nitpicker! As for exam, they are TOUGH- be ready to study! She will throw in some tricky questions and grading isn't consistent.
Dr. Nolibos is the best chem professor here. Her lectures are so clear and helpful and she always grades fair and consistent. You know exactly what to expect out of her tests and shes often available outside of class and always willing to help. She really broke organic down to a level anyone can understand and pass
Dr. Nolibos is the best Chemistry professor at UNG. She is always there for her students. If you do all the worksheets and read the assigned chapters, you will pass. She is a funny outgoing person and I really enjoyed attending her class.
I have SDS accommodations for a non-visible disability. I always had to argue to get my formula sheet for tests, etc. She just could not accept that I have valid UGA Regents Center testing done supporting a legitimate documented need. She could not stand it that I get 2 x extended time for tests/quizzes. I would not wish my SDS issues on anyone
Dr. Nolibos is a good teacher & is very organized. She clearly lets students know what to study. The material and tests are very hard. She can be a little moody so DON'T be late for class!!!
Dr. Nolibos is great! When she says go to her with questions, she means it! She really wants her students to learn. BUT she wants you to earn it. She doesn't like laziness or bad attitudes. She appreciates and respects those who are serious about their education. I've had Dr. Nolibos for 3 semesters by choice! Remember Organic Chemistry is hard!!
I had Dr. Nolibos for a lab. Show up and do your work and you'll be fine.
Dr. Nolibos is a really good teacher. Tests are difficult but she does a great job at teaching the material. Pay attention and study, you will do good. I had her for lab as well and it's hard to do bad in those.
Nolibos is a great professor! She really wants you to understand the material and learn. She is a super fair grader, and always gives partial credit where she could. She made learning ochem and coming to class as enjoyable as it can be! Definitely take her if you get the chance to!
Dr. Nolibos is great at teaching chemistry, willing to help outside of class, gives extra credit on exams and her exams are straightforward. She is very intelligent yet humble and does not come across as pretentious at all. READ the book, get the ochem guide suggested on the syllabus and study in advance. Cramming is not effective for this class!
I don't get why Prof. Nolibos has only 3.5 ratings in here! She's a really great professor. She'll go over everything that will be on the exam. She will extend the homework if the students requested her to. She will postpone the exam so we can have a review day. She's not a tough grader! She gives surprise bonus points, So be sure to attend class!
Lab with Dr. Nolibos is terrible because she doesn't help us. She sits at the computer with her feet propped up and on her phone. She gets super annoyed if students are working close to the time cutoff, and she makes you feel bad for not being done like we didn't prepare for lab. She also takes a long time to grade and give stuff back.
Organic chemistry is tough as it is, but Dr. Nolibos seems to understand that. She is not a tough grader on exams , gives partial credit. She does like to answer questions and is ready to help anyone. She is a nice professor.
I've had Dr. Nolibos for CHEM 1212 and she was amazing, so I decided to take her again for Organic 1, and I was not disappointed. Her lectures are wonderful and she makes the hard subjects of Organic 1 seem much easier to grasp. She does really want you to ask questions though, otherwise she may get upset. She is very caring and does a great job.
We had to watch lecture videos before coming to class even though we still came each M/W/F. The lecture videos were from a different professor which made it confusing on what we were expected to know. She is a caring person, but I did not like her as a teacher. I didn't enjoy her teaching style. She would get mad if you asked a "dumb" question.
Professor Nolibos is a chill, smart teacher. However, she is awful at making sure students are understanding what is going on. Furthermore, the tests are loaded and difficult, and no extra credit/test replacements are given throughout the semester. I would never take this class again.
She's okay. The homework she assigns is a lot but it does help you prepare for the exams. Unfortunately, many questions on the exams are not at all touched on during class (at least that's what it seems like).
This has to be the most difficult class I have ever taken. Studied an insane amount of hours and completed all assignments and managed to do terrible on the exams. It felt as if what was on the test wasn't taught in class. If you already have two failing test grades then I would take her advice and drop the class.
she is definitely a good lecturer, she explains clearly, but she does assign a lot of homework and rarely answers the email.
Tests are extremely difficult and worth 60%. I got a better grade on the final (standardized ACS exam) than I did on any of her exams. She adds homework assignments randomly on top of preassigned learning checks so its hard to keep up with due dates. Not bad at lecturing, but she comes across intimidating and gets frustrated with students easily.
Literally the worst professor I have ever had in my life. Very difficult to get a hold of outside of class and gets extremely irritated when you ask any kind of question. Take anyone else if you have a choice
Everything is taught through the book so if you don't learn well that way def don't take her. She doesn't teach, only does examples in class so if you don't read the book then you'll be lost in lecture. Ochem really isn't that hard but she makes it unnecessarily hard. She's a tough grader, hard to approach, and strict on rlly specific stuff.
Be prepared to teach yourself! She does not lecture, just gives examples during class. Her grading is heavily dependent on your exams (5 exams - 60% of grade). She strictly uses the textbook and expects you to devote yourself fully to the class. Organic is difficult, but she makes it more difficult than it should be. Also, she is picky in grading.
She doesn't really teach, you learn from the textbook. Test are hard, she's a tough grader. Ochem isn't hard but she made it extremely difficult. A handful of people failed in my class. Do not take ochem w Nolibos
Her lectures were great and wants to make sure the whole class understood the material. 50% of the course is exam based, but every class before the exam, she would dedicate that session to ask any questions about the material. Does Mastering Chemistry but only 10% of grade and main form of homework besides a pre chapter assignment.
Best professor I've ever had! During the first exam in my organic class, I accidentally skipped a page and found myself panicking about possibly failing the class. I reached out to Professor Nolibos for advice, wondering if I should drop the course. She is encouraging and pushes her students to reach their full potential, I got the grade I wanted.
she has absolutely no clear grading criteria&will take off points/not give you the credit you earned if she doesnt feel like so. She didnt even curve the ACS final, and she manipulates grades. I would love to report her but I can't because she's close to dep head and is irrational enough to mess up grades even worse. so yeah! AVOID HER AT ALL COST.
The grading criteria was unclear and there were discrepancies between the syllabus grading scale and D2L grading scale. Her grading practices are not trustworthy and if you think you are doing well you might not be, because there is a mystery around your grades. Avoid this teacher at all costs!!!!
She is sweet and lowkey funny. She assigns homework that is due before class the next day... do not forget to do them! I forgot sometimes. Everything is manageable if you put in the work. I loved her. Taking her again for 1212.
