She's thick skinned, and you will leave her class knowing something no matter who you are.

Mrs.Parks set a solid foundation for me ing 68. I had no clue what I was doing on the first day of school, but she showed me that I am capable of being a good writer. She is helpful, but expects you to also help yourself. Prepare to be amazed in her class

She is the nicest teacher i ahve met she is very helpful and love her students even the annoying ones!!

She is challenging but always willing to answer questions in class or in her office.

She's very good at clarifying anything. You can easily go to her if you have trouble w/ understanding.

I was so scared the first week. She comes off tough but if you hang with it you will pass.She does give homework almost every day but hey hello it's college.

Assigns a lot of homework and doesn't look at your side of the story. It's her way or the highway. I wrote in my book when I was supposed to photocopy it and write on that photocopy and she only gave me partial credit. Take her class if you have nothing to do.

She taught me more than any other college course/instruct to date. I worked my $%# off. I lived English Mon-thurs. You want to make it show-up!!and take notes.go to her office,voice your concerns. She requires you to do YOUR BEST! she weeds um out alright...after the semester you will be a better student.unless you slept for 5 months?

She isn't that easy, but if you do the work you will at least pass.I thought she would score a paper poorly that i wrote against her opinion on, but she scored fairly. I got an A in her class. And you get almost the enitre semester to right the final draft for the 8-12 page paper. Recommended if you want to learn and are willing to to work.

Looooveeed Ms. Parks!!! You will grow soo much as a writer. She demands a lot but this was one of my most favorite classes!! I highly recommend her!!!

OK so she is not an easy teacher AT ALL i gotta say she is extremely hard. If you keep up with all the work and actually do IT ALL then you should be ok. I thought i would not pass her class but all throught the semester ive managed to keep up at B+ only because i forgot to turn in a couple assignments. Overall just do the work. AND PRAY you pass!!

This is a VERY tough class. Expect to work REALLY hard. You will improve a lot as a writer. The professor is nice and helpful, just assigns a ton of work. The theme is social protesting, and the research paper is on a protest in the United States. Besides the research paper, which is worked on through the semester, there were 4 other smaller ones.

Class focus is on protests, so if you have no interest in protests do not take this class. Expect a lot of work but because of the class, not the teacher. She is very clear on what she expects from her students. You will need to purchase and read every book.

This class was definitely not easy, but doable. She does give a lot of homework like others have said, but if you do the work you'll pass. She is extremely helpful and she cares about her students. You can tell she loves her job and she just wants you to put the effort in. I would recommend her to people who dont want an easy A but will work for it

Class was hard, there was lot of essay, but overall if you do not slack off you can pass it. Alot of people complain, but from my friends in that class they mostly complain because they were too lazy to do the work lol.

Professor Parks is the best English teacher I have ever had. Her class isn't as hard as everyone says it is. If you ask for help, form study grounds, and don't procrastinate you will do just fine. She loves what she does and is passionate about it. She cares about every student and wants to see them succeed. I highly recommend her.

Professor Parks is a great teacher, and is very helpful. One of the three books wasnt that interesting, but in general they were okay. Encourages class discussion. Made me want to change my major to english. There are about 40 assignments, but it was worth it to improve writing skills.

She was hard, but I learned a lot. She cares about her subject and her students. If something comes up in your life, she will work with you.

She is helpful but leaves it up to you to do it. If you're lazy take someone else.

Dr. Parks isn't a difficult professor. She walks you through each step of writing and as long as you're there and ask questions, you'll be fine. Yes there's a lot to read, but it's easy and interesting reading. Biggest reading section was 4 pages. She definitely works with you to help you succeed. Would take againrecommend and good discussions

Dr. Parks has been the best professor. Yes she assigns a lot of work, but what can we expect?this is the class needed in order to transfer after all. If she is not clear. ASK questions, she wants all her students to pass. I had the honor of taking her for Eng53&B1A ( got A's)and I sure don't regret it. If you are Lazy, prepare yourself for failure.

Dr. Parks is an awesome professor! She is highly educated and wants the best for her students. You must remember, it is an English class and there is lots of reading,writing, and research. By the way, I think she chose dynamic books,articles,and journals to read. If you don't do the required work don't expect an A. I did the work!

She will change your life and your mindset. All I can say is re-birth! Dr. Parks has been a true inspiration to my college life. Success is the key, and failure is not an option. Keep up the excellent work that you for the students, as well as the community at large. I really enjoyed all the work, and I appreciated her for it too.

She is very specific in what she wants. She is very caring about her students. If you are struggling it is because you do not ask for help or do not put much effort in your work. Most of the negative comments are student who couldn't hang with the work load. Her class prepares you for B1a. She is amazing and I wish could take her class .

Dont take this class unless your serious about being a successful student in college. Dr. Parks class is demanding but if you want to really learn how to be a great student you need to take this class and take it very seriously. Dr. Paula Parks is an amazing teacher, and Im not just saying that because I have the highest GPA in her class.

She's really a great professor. I slacked off in her class, and it made it hard for me in the end. It is not hard, it is according to how you prioritize your work. It is a lot, but only to those who don't want to do the work. I advise future students to receives the knowledge she has with open minds, not negative thoughts.

Dr. Parks prepares you for a CSU/UC level class at a community college. She is a tough grader, but her expectations are clear since she provides a booklet with assignment due dates to every student. Dr. Parks was incredibly helpful as she dedicated her life to her work. She will push you to your fullest potential. Very sincere teacher. Loved her!

Dr. Parks is a great Professor! She may seem unapproachable, but she is the opposite.... she wants you to succeed. You will have to work and earn your grade as with everything in life. I have a new perspective after taking English with Dr. Parks. I worked hard and I passed and i now know that I can pass any class at BC with no problem.
