if she were so awful, she wouldn't have been voted professor of the year (by students) last year. yes, her class is HARD and her policies are strict.you have to work extremely hard and it is a big transition from HS, but it will prepare you for college!!

What a great way to start my first year at college. I learned a lot from her and her class. It required a some work but i got a B going to class 80% of the time and going over my notes for the tests.

An outstanding professor. Really seems to know what she is doing and can teach superbly.

Dr. Popovich's psych 101 class was difficult, but not impossible. I went to class most of the time and studied minimally for her exams and god a B. If you do the reading (actually read the text) and go to class, you should have some success in the class

The trick to doing well in her class is reading the book. And understanding what you read. I almst never went to class, but made a point to read all the chapters and do the study guide before each test. Ended up with an A.

She's a tough chick, but if you play by her rules you'll not only pass the class, but you'll learn some stuff and you might even enjoy it. She's got a great sense of humor and she works hard. She caters to the material, not the students.

Paula kicks ass. She is opinionated but she knows her ****. If you think she is hard then you obviously don't go to class or read the book. Do what is expected of you and you will learn a lot and get a good grade.

I don't know why everyone complains about this class because it's not that hard. Sure you have to do a minimal amount of work, but there is extra credit and the final isn't even comprehensive. She is a good lecturer too and pretty entertaining.

I really enjoyed this class. I thought she had a good teaching style. She may not come across as the nicest lady, but she's a very good Professor!

Dr. Popovish is awesome. Her tests come straight from class lectures, and she is easy to understand and interesting. She'll make you laugh too. Take good notes, do some reading, and you'll do well.

I liked her! I can't tell you much, some of my friends HATED her, but----i thought she was funny and smart.

Popovich is a good teacher. She goes over the material and is interesting. As long as you go to class and take notes.. you will do fine on the tests! She can be tough sometimes but can be easy going as well!

I like her! She was very thorough with the notes and very clear..The tests were tricky though, even with studying! On a good note the final isn't cumulative and she's pretty funny.

For serious, if you go to class take notes and study your notes you'll be fine. I thought that the class was very interesting and her thourough teaching made the class super easy!

I think she is a very intelligent and funny woman. She made the class interesting and used funny examples to help you relate to the subject. She is one of the best professors I've had.

Are you kidding me? She was one of the greatest profs I've ever had. Everyone thinks the class should be a breeze because it's a 101. Dr. Popovich actually wants you to learn something, and if you take her class, I guarantee you will.

I loved her. I thought she was funny and related well to her students. It was a very large class but i thought she did a great job.

She is a great prof! She makes the lectures interesting. You have to study both the notes and the text and the tests are pretty easy.

She is a nice lady and her lectures are fun and interesting, but her tests are HARD. Make sure you read EVERY part of the book and memorize your notes- that's the only way to get an A. It's a 101 class but don't take it with her unless you are ready to REALLY work.

She is a nice person and extremely interesting. I will admit her tests are very very hard. I do get a lot out of the class though. Make sure you know the book well, she doesnt go over that stuff and it will be on the test. If you really want to learn psych don't be intimidated by her ratings.

She was very interesting and the hour went by very quick, however, there is a lot of emphasis placed on reading the book. She doesn't cover everything in class. You will be responsible for a lot of the work in order to get a good grade on the tests. It's not impossible though.

She's an excellent professor. Her tests can be difficult, but she does prepare you for them. A lot of people don't like her because she's no-nonsense, but you'll learn a lot from her. She uses a lot of great examples and makes the class very interesting.

Popovich made Psych really boring for me, but at the same time really easy. The tests are all definitions and categorizing information. If you know names of people and terms from the book, and your notes like the back of your hand, theres no reason not to get an A unless you're a returd. 5-7 hours studying per test = A

Popovich wasn't as hard as everyone made her out to be. MAKE SURE to read the book and take your own notes. This can be time consuming -but with the combination of your personal notes and her lecture notes you can get a guaranteed A!

Not too bad. She likes to ramble on a lot, but you need to listen because she'll put a lot of unpredictable stuff on the test. The class isn't too hard, however, as long as you put forth some degree of effort. I don't care in the least about psych, and I've got a solid B in this class, but it could easily be better.

class is all lectures, notes are clear and test is straight forward from notes and readings in the book.

She explains her examples really well but they generally don't help on the test. Reading the book is important, she sneaks alot of book info onto the tests. The tests are challenging but not horrible, just read and go to most of the classes. Other than that, not as bad as everyone make her out to be, overall shes seems really nice.

I heard horror stories about this prof during pre-college, but I had no choice but to take her my first quarter at OU. The rumors were mostly false-- she isn't scary or un-approachable. She is one of the toughest profs I've had at OU. I got an A-- but I worked my butt off for it. Interesting class, but expect tons of memorization for the exams.

This is a class of 400 students...but Dr. P is able to teach in a way that makes the class feel like it's just you and the person sitting next to you. She has a lot of experiance and is very knowledgeable in the subject. I respect her and I suggest her to anyone who is interested in taking psychology.

Don't let the bad reviews fool you; she is a good professor. Knows her stuff and always stops to answer questions. Make sure you read the book because a few things pop up on tests that aren't in lecture. If you work hard, you can pull of an A! Final isn't cumulative, it's just another test. I would recommend her to anyone.

Wow, some people make this class seem a lot worse than it is. This is my first quarter and I got an easy A. It seems like some people are just really lazy, all you have to do is listen during class and read the book and the test will be a sinch. She explains the material really well and is always around if you need some more help after class.

She is a verry difficult teacher and her test are impossible. If you have her read the book and study class notes. But i would recomend not to talk her at all IMPOSSIBLE!

Decent teacher. Her tests were pretty hard if you don't study the book and notes. Worked very hard to maintain a B average.

Great Teacher, she was awesome, very clear, take notes everyday, outside experiments were easy, download notes from blackboard made it very easy, must come to class, 5 tests over book, her notes and lecture, Not difficult tests though....take Psychology from her, she is good

Overall her lectures are interesting, but the format of the class gets old after awhile. It's hard to force yourself to class EVERYDAY. Overall, tests are on material in the book and in the lectures so studying is hard. She also pulls random facts from both of them that didn't seem that important. Overall, just a mediocre teacher.

I really liked psych with Popovich. If you come to class everyday, read the text, and study you will get an A. She is quirky and keeps the class interesting!

Tough class but I thought she was a great teacher. You have to read the textbook, but it's not bad. The text is actually easy to read and gives good examples. Exams are hard but she gives an appropriate curve at the end of the quarter.

The only reason I didn't do well in this class was because I didn't study. The prof is great though - really knowledgeable and great at making info accessible to people with absolutely no previous background in the subject.

You have to go to class take good notes and read the book but she is a good teacher and tries hard to make the material interesting. I recommend her.

I took her and found out that instead of going to class just read the chapters and get the si worksheets from the instructor and you will be better off. Very boring lecture but if you learn from notes she gives you pretty much what is in the book with a little more explanation.

Not a bad prof. Not great. Definitely not easy, but its not impossible. I liked the class. She knows a lot about the topic. Makes corny jokes that I thought made the class a little better. I liked the class. If you don't wanna study, dont take it though. You can't be lazy. She isn't as bad as people say though.

Took this class and yes the exams were a little difficult. In my opinion if you go to class, take good notes, and study everyday then you will get an A. The SI's and chapter tests in the book were very helpfull. Everything on her tests are in her notes or in the book. Just Study!!

yes she is hard and expects a lot out of you, but I learned a lot in that class and if you go to class everyday, read the book and really study for the tests you will be fine...but this is not an "easy A", you have to actually care

Dr. Popovich was an excellent professor. She explained everything clearly in class and explained exactly what was going to be on the exam. My advice is to take thorough notes in class and compare them to the book, only read what was not mentioned in class and you will do just fine.

The class its self is pretty hard, but if you go to class and read youll be fine. She is a nice lady, just DO NOT even think about cheating cause you will NOT get away with it!

Not gonna lie at 1st i hated her but she's grown on me and her stories can be kinda funny at times. Make sure you go to class she says a lot of things that aren't in the book that she brings up on her tests and also make sure you read because there's some stuff she doesn't cover that's only in the book. All tests are 50 ?'s multiple choice

Loved her. Need to keep up on the book but it's an EASY read and interesting at the same time. Attending class is definitely a must because she puts a lot of things from class on the tests. Like I said tho, it's a very interesting course so I never minded going. She actually made me laugh a ton as well.

Tests are hard. There are only five so do not think you have room for error. Read the book and go to class. Expect to spend alot of your time reading.

I thought she was a great teacher! i found her class really interesting and easy to pay attention to most days. She's easy to listen to and knows what she's talking about. Her tests are sort of hard, but not if you study and pay attention in class. If you're a decently good student you'll do fine. Final isn't cumulative

very very good teacher, you dont need to know the topics to deeply. I just basically read the topics and MEMORIZED the notes i took in class and i got an A. I forget everything i learned but i still got an A in the class..

Was so nervous to take this class with her because of reviews I read on this site/fact that class is used to "weed out" students at OU. However, if you go to class and read the textbook, you will do just fine. Best thing to do to study is re-read book and flashcards, I swear. I've gotten 2 A's and a B on tests so far.

As long as you read and take notes, the class is simple as easy. She's very engaging and fun to listen to.

She is a good teacher and is very knowledgeable of the subject. I got an A but only because I studied like crazy and didn't miss a single class. If you're going to take this class, prepare to stay up late studying! Interesting material though.

Don't miss a class, take your laptop and write notes into the outline she puts on blackboard, read the book, and actually study. Putting a decent amount of effort into the class got me an A-. Do the psych experiments too, the papers suck.

Tough class. DOn't take it lightly and you should be ok. Go to S.I. meetings and get help. Fun teacher, not really boring but gives a lot of info

Very intersting subject matter, she's fun to listen to. It helps to read the book, but it's not completely mandatory as long as you go to class. I was a A/B student in high school and I got a B in her class with a medium amount of studying. All tests are 50 questions, multiple choice.

Her examples and explanations really make the information much easier to understand.

She is a great teacher as far as presenting material goes. I learned a ton of new material and gained an even higher interest in psych. However, she is not approachable during class and her tests cover a lot of material. Overall, you will learn a lot of material from her but it will not be easy to receive an A. Also, plan to use the book and study.

Good professor, tried to use humor often, which helped. If you want to do well in her class, you have to read the book. Attended SI sessions which helped tremendously. Got and A in the class, but did the work to deserve it.

She was very humorous, made lectures bearable to get through. Since I took psych in high school it was easy, but I did learn a lot more! Defiantly need to read, it helps when taking the tests. I thoroughly enjoyed her class. Moreover, hope to take another one of her classes soon.

This is the easiest, most fun class I've had at OU yet, and it was all because of Dr. Popovich. If you're willing to go to class, listen and take notes, take her class.

People complain about how hard this class is but it's because they never went, didn't have the notes and failed. Don't take this class if you don't think you'll go every day because its essential to passing. I went every day, studied a moderate amount and got an A. She is very humorous, knows her stuff and the topics are very interesting!

I found the lectures boring with this particular professor and when I took the course over with another insturctor I thought the class was great! But this insturctor is good you just don't want to piss her off.

Dr. Popavich is the BEST! Highly recommend her class! It is so easy to do well, go to class, take notes on what she says, read the book and study a moderate amount and you'll do FINE! She curves the class from the highest score and there is extra credit. So it is definitely possible to get an A! TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!
