Risko is an amazing professor. She is the best math professor I have ever had. She is very clear and explains everything in a way that you can understand the work. She will make the problems relate to something familiar. There is a lot of homework, but it is for your own good. If you do the hw, the tests are cake, baby.

I dont understand math. I took Col Alg (did 30 hw a section), took Bus Cal (did 15), Took Stat (did 10). I listened, took notes, and did the hw work. I asked for help. She is a good teacher. No she isnt fun or there for you entertainment, but she gets the point across, group work helps. She gives projects so you can practice. She is strict, but helps you if you seek it.

Professor Risko cares about students that take the class seriously. She offers a bunch of extra credit and is always open for communication. Students who are saying negative things about her are simply slackers. Take her, put in the work, and you will be fine. I got an A.

Professor Risko will truly help you to learn your math. However, the amount of homework is a little much to deal with most of the time. In addition, she grades very hard and will take partial points for nearly anything. With that said, she is always willing to help her students during her office hours. She wants to see her students succeed.

Took the 7 week class. VERY good teacher. You MUST be at every class and complete ALL hw (100 questions per class) , quiz corrections, labs etc. NO LATE WORK! NO MAKE UPS! Miss a day you get a zero on the assignment, NO EXCEPTIONS. Once you understand that she does not budge on her rules, she is a good teacher and she easy to talk to and work with.

Teacher was really cool. Math kind of seemed a little pointless before, but I liked that she told how it was relevant. It made it a lot less boring and easier to understand.

I took her seven week summer coarse, she gives a lot of work(about 60-100) per class, but she gives lots of examples in her lectures. She is also very helpful outside of class, but her office hours were short. If you are a slacker or don't plan to attend every class DO NOT take her.

Risko is a very good teacher. She always went over the material in depth. She always encouraged us that we could do it. We did a lot of group work & we shared answers. There was a lot of positive interaction. As far as HW goes, she gives the same as other teachers. The Hw was similar to the tests. Easy class. I am taking her for my next class.

Professor Risko is an excellent Professor. You have to be committed to her class. She assigns tons and tons of homework, and assigns a portfolio which include homework, test. She also gives you labs problem(graphs) along with 7 or 8 questions every 3 weeks I would say. She is very helpful, you can go to her office and get 1:1 help.

I used to hate math, but she teaches in a way that makes you FINALLY understand what it's all about. I'm so glad I took her, it gave me a strong foundation for what I'm majoring in. She gives a lot of work though, so if you just need the credit, don;t take her. I felt like I really learned in her class. It's tedious and time consuming but worth it.

I hate math & required to take 2. I love risko's class. She is clear, simple, and extremely helpful. She breaks down complex ideas so everyone can understand. If u are willing to try she is willing to help. I did the hw and passed the exams. If u did poor on an exam she has u take the exam at the end of class to improve your grade. awesome!!!

She gives way too much work and it isn't easy if you're taking more than one math but to not blow things out of proportion it isn't impossible in any way to get an A in her class. You will have to keep a notebook organized with tons of homework she gives relentlessly and you will have to read two chapters for a quiz the next class. You can do it.

PROS: great Professor for those who prefer a teacher that forces you to learn, available during office hours, truly wants you to learn the material. CONS: makes you keep a notebook(15% of final grade), will only tell you your grade once: one week before the final, otherwise you have to calculate it, LOTS OF WORK. must take detailed notes.

I had some statistics background from high school & I still found this class a little more challenging. She gives us math essays as well 4-12 abcd hwk probs a night & quizzes regularly. Extra Credit at seminars and going to tutoring every day definitely benefitted me and helped me to receive my A.

I am new to college and i have no idea how it works. But Risko explained math clearly and i did the work and passed the tests. She also gave me information that i can use in all my classes and i was successful in them also. She is really nice and very helpful. If you ask a question she will answer it. Professor Risko gives has notebook checks on test days. (only 4 test). The test are not impossible, just study by doing extra problems in your textbook. If you miss two more classes you will not pass but if you have perfect attendance and an A or B in the class you can opt out of the final test. She teaches very clearly with plenty of examples.

The class was way more interesting than I thought it would be. Instead of just book stuff, we also did labs that had real stats stuff to look at. I like that she was helpful and willing to explain things more when I needed it. I have taken several math classes with her and liked all of them.

She speaks clear English so i could understand the math and she gave lots of real life examples. if i had a question, she would take the time to answer it. if you practice the hw you will pass.

Don't not take her class if you have a heavy work load. She gives more homework than I have every received from any teacher. This class will consume all your time. She is willing to help but only before or after class. She lectures from the start until class is over and then some. 2 page paper on how to work the calculator.

I loved taking Statistics with Professor Risko. I can't speak for the rest of my class - I know a lot of people would complain due to the amount of work involved in the class. She's funny, her lesson plan was well placed, and she really seems to care about her students.

If you need to understand Statistics take her. If you get an A or B with no absences you do not have to take the final. Tests are 60 percent so STUDY! Don't stress over quizzes since they are only 5 percent. Come to class and take good notes this will make your grade. Keep up with homework. This class is time consuming and very stressful.

She was inspiratonal because she is the only teacher to ever explain clearly WHY algebra is done, which made the class much more interesting. Hated algebra before taking, & by the end was excited about the projects we did. Professor Risko was also nice about helping me, which I needed since I was very bad at algebra before.

Its a heavy workload, binder checks include notes, homework, chapter questions, test corrections etc. Shes a good teacher but is condescending. Shes helpful but only available right before class(sometimes)/right after class. I dont recommend this class if you have a busy schedule bc its time consuming. No makeup tests and one essay on calculators

Risko gives the syllabus out the 1st class. She gives quizzes, test, & home learning. She is very inspiring because she gives examples of past successful students. Statistics isn't easy and requires a lot of work, but she tell you up front what it takes to be successful in her course, listen and take heed. She has statistics to tell how well you will do based on your homework and binder grade. You can't prove her work, so don't even try. My advice is to sit down, listen and learn. I needed 2 math classes to graduate get AA and I took Risko for both because she explains everything and gives many examples. Her exams come from class discussions and the home learning that she assigns. Her grading criteria was clear and followed exactly what was stated in the syllabus. Professor Risko is great. She aims to teach in different ways to get to all learning styles. She's sweet and caring, but she's not going to make it easy on lazy people. She explains things great. I took Professor Risko for college algebra and I'm taking her now for statistics. I don't understand how people have such a problem with her. I think she's great. The grading policy is crystal clear, her tests are easy, and the extra work she gives is all a guaranteed A as long as you do it. If she taught calculus, I'd keep going with her no doubt.

She makes you do things? OH NO! Get with it people you're in college, wait until you transfer to a university. Professor Risko has strict requirements within her homework that are ultimately graded with folder checks. She tries to intimidate a little bit, but her exams are super easy. She gives you the grade formula so you can calculate your grade at any time and go to tutoring for extra credit if you don't understand. You can pregrade the hw so you earn 100% on it. Easy Class. Risko is everything I need in a math teacher. She explains the math clearly. She gives the same amt of hw others do. She answers questions and tutors you if you don't understand. she is kind, caring and is concerned about your success. She encourages group discussions and student interactions. She is very responsive for feedback and has her own systematic curriculum no other professors managed to fulfill. It has shaped up my academic plans and I am planning to study every other courses like her guidelines. Risko explained the material well. We discuss it and then work in groups. She cares about you learning the material so you are successful in your next math class. Prof. Risko is an exceptional teacher. Unlike other teachers, she worries about you getting the right information. She is very strict, get what you earn, so if you are lazy and do not like showing up to class or you always late, do not take her. She is a university level professor. I learned so much with her. I'll say at first, I wasn't feeling Prof. Risko. She gives a ton of homework and it made me go crazy because I felt that I couldn't hang out without the burden of hw in the back of my mind. But by the end of the semester, I realized it all was very necessary for the success in the class. You can take her, but if you don't do hw, then don't bother.

I had Risko for 3 classes College Alg, Statistics, Bus Calculus. I pass all 3. We used MyMathLab in College Algebra &Business Calculus. My friends in other classes were doing the same amount of work. We did not use it is Statistics because she wanted to give us a break and let us get some hands on practice with the data. Amazing & Helpful!

Professor Risko's class was a good experience. I liked that I knew exactly what to do to get a good grade. Teaching was clear with lots of examples and she helped me outside of class. She also answered emails, which not every professor does.

I have taken Intermediate Algebra with another professor and Professor Risko gives the same amount of HW in College Algebra. She clearly explains the algebra and how to graph it. She gives great study skill idea for college in general. All you have to do is study the HW, Review for the Exam, and take the Exam. It is easy if you show up and try.

I was scared to take Business Calculus. But Risko is knowledgeable about both math and business. It was really neat that when she talked about the math she show us how to use it in business. She even gave a lesson on how we could be millionaire. I am really excited that I took her class now and I think I got an A on the last exam - easy it was.

Prof Risko explains the math problem in many different ways to me. She showed me how to graph, how to solve equations, and how to check my work. The coolest thing she did was connect my math class to my science class. She also gave me really great study skill tips that help me pass both my math and science class. I am taking her Stats next.

I took her for Business Calculus and Statistics. They are not lecture heavy because you discuss and do activities. No pop quizzes because she tells you on BB and MML the date. Her teaching style was pretty clear since she does everything step by step. Their were also a lot of examples of how to use the math for actual jobstuff, which was cool.

This prof encourage me and gave me focus when I was struggling to finish my degree. I had her for Inter Alg and now Stats and I am glad I did. She gave me job skills that I can put on my resume. She show you examples AND lets you work some out for yourself. She give you technology skills and show you how to use excel. I like the group work too.

I enjoyed her lectures, they were clear and there were concepts that finally clicked with me after barely passing intermediate. The homework is heavy, just stay on top of it. I have a full-time job and took 4 classes but got it done. This class was moved online due to covid, but she went above and beyond to make sure we pushed on and finished.

I took Risko IDS class and learned great study skills. So I took her MAT 1033 class and aced it. She is GOAT. She gives you deadlines that you can check off as you learn. She practices problems with you in class. Every few problems she ask "do you have a question." So I asked her and she caringly responded. I am taking her again for 1105!!

I am not a math person so I took Risko ONLINE MGF1106. I really enjoyed learn math which supprised me. She set it up so that I improved my study skill and math skills at the same time. I really was successful and I have more confidence to take my second math class with Prof Risko. she answered my emails and chatted with me live. She is Great!!

Risko is very helpful. She explains how to work the math problem step by step. She will even show you how you will use it at your job. Do the HW, study for the quiz, pass the exam. It was that predictable and easy. She even gives you study tips to help make your studying more effective. Once I learned how to study math it was easier to pass.

I need this class so can begin my science career. I did my math hw. I practiced and reviewed my hw. If I did badly on a quiz I worked with Risko or a tutor to correct my mistakes and took the quiz again and did better. She explains every problem step by step and lets you try it in class. She shows you how to use math in science and that is cool!

Professor Risko gives clear and easy-to-understand lectures. She is very organized and does assign A LOT of homework. She genuinely seems to care about her students and works hard to help students succeed. My only complaint is the mandatory tutoring. If you miss questions on a quiz or exam it is mandatory to go to tutoring for the questions missed.

I had Professor Risko the Spring Semester and it was hard. Participation does matters as she does give you a grade if you participated and attended class. If you don't do math daily, passing the class is not easy. I crammed a lot but I passed with an A. She does remind you about missing assignments and she is caring as she does answer questions.

Professor Risko is a great professor to take for STA2023. She understands the material she teaches is hard to understand, and as result is thoughtful to her students. She does many examples in class where she walks you through how to do a problem. I prefer this style of teaching for math, instead of a professor lecturing the whole class period.

Professor Risko is a great option to take for MAC2233. I had taken this class online during COVID, and was able to understand the material. Which was rare during that time because many professors struggled with lectures online. She was able to overcome the electronic barrier, and teach pretty well. If you take her, you will definitely will learn.

This class is straight forward. She gives you a study guide in Canvas. She works examples with you and then lets you work with your classmates on the next math problem. She gives you extra credit for visiting the math tutors for help. MyLabMath is set up so you do your practice, take your quiz and pass the exam. She is very helpful & great!!

Prof. Risko is an excellent instructor. She made math interesting, linked it to current events, which made the material more relatable, and less 'textbook scripted'. This professor worked out problems with you. We used active learning in class. She gives good study tips. She cares and explains items thoroughly. Prof. Risko provides many extra useful materials for students and is ready to help, so if you have any struggles, talk to her after class. There was a huge lot of h/w, so even though I knew almost all the topics from school, I still spent hours doing MML quizzes, but then, exams were easy-peasy since they had the same type of tasks as homework.

I had a 12 wk class with Pearson. Great teacher! everything was outlined and organized at beginning of class and she would send a weekly discussion to let us know what was due that week. We practiced what we need for quizzes and test. I only emailed her once for something and she responded within 24 hrs. I am a fan of simple and to the point! !

I like risko because her MyLabMath is very straight forward. I do group work, practice, take a quiz. This class is a 4 credit - not 3 hr so yes there is more practice. FSCJ has a First Week Engagement policy, which requires students to complete specific tasks for week 1. So I was fully engaged and prepared for the coursework Day 1. Great Prof!

I took Alg 1 & 2 in HS and did not cheat so I was ready to learn in college algebra. I was able to follow risko's examples. i worked problems in class. did the math practice and quizzes. i even took her practice test which were similar to the exams. it was an easy A if you practice. great prof!!

i screwed around in HS. did not learn a thing. I landed in intermediate algebra. risko is up front and said it is a 4 credit hour class. it take more time to practice the math to catch up what you did not learn in the first place. so, i took notes and did the work. got a C on practice test. studied and got an B on test. helpful professor!!

Professor Risko has been one of the few highlights of my time here at community collage. She made a difficult class not only tolerable but one of my favorite classes, which is saying something for a CALC class. You do get a ton of homework, but it is set up in a way its not bad as long as you stay on top of it. One of the best teachers at FSCJ.
