she's new testes are easy, teaches well and easy to get along with , just attend all the class, and be on time and you'll pass. It's all about reading the materials very simple
I have much respect for her, she is very knowledgeable about her subject and very friendly. Tests are hard. The lectures are dictated in a definition-based fashion and very impersonal and the tests are based upon 3 to 5 chapters a piece, if you do decide to take this professor i would advise you keep up on reading and show up on time. Good luck!
I am taking it now, 5 hard exam, 1 project and that about it. it is not easy to get A, but if u work for it. A is your! her class is worth it.
She is a very dedicated and intelligent individaul, and i'll recommend her to anybody. Her work is not easy, but we're in college. She takes her time if you come to her after class, and never turns her back on her students. You'll learn something with this professor.
Great Professor! Super nice and easy to talk to. Easy to pass too, just read all of the chap's assigned and do not be late!
First off, she is nice, very sweet... but her assignments are rediculious. She makes you study tons of terms, and expects you to know the meanings for her exams. She makes you read alot, and her tests are fill in's, matching, multiple, and essays. Plus there's a PROJECT TOO with term paper! So if you want to go nuts during the semester, take her!
i would say her class is wow! she's very friendly and knowledgeable. i learned a lot from her class. you will find out her class very tough if u don't do your work or reading. she says hi to me everytime she sees me and so am i. thanks a lot prof. saunders!
she always gives C even if you get A from her exams. She expects you to prepare powerpoint and present it in the classroom. I think she is tough enough I dont recommend her to anybody.
She requires a lot of reading in such a small period. has no regards on how many classes the student is taking.
She is really easy. Tests are cake.
She's a nice professor but boring.. she makes u read almost all the chapter in the book and makes u write a response paper for each chapter. she has u study alot of terms and most aren't on the exam. theres a paper due and a presentation as well. Come to class and pay attention and read u should do fine.
She is a really good teacher and tells you before hand everything that is on the exams.
she is not that good . she is boring. she did.t give you the grade you deserved
she is horrible. she didnt help that much.
Wonderful professor. If you do the readings and participate in class, you will both do well and have fun. There are no tricks or surprises. You are responsible for knowing the information even if you don't go over it in class. You will get out of her class what you put into it. You HAVE to buy the book and DO THE READING. NO STUDY= NO PASS
I think she doesn't know how to teach. She is so boring. if you dont want to sleep and dont want to get a poor grade dont take it
Whatever! She is the worst.
she is boring. I guess she thinks she is a speech teacher since she aska you to prepare powerpoint. i didn;t like her teaching method.
Will tell you often about why she's a good teacher due to her excessive archaeolgoy adventures, HOWEVER, she is a fair teacher with clear expectations and reasonable reactions.Tests are easy if you read the text and take lecture notes. The semester project is a positve challenge. Didn't like her at mid-terms, but truly respected her by the end.
VERY fair professor, but she does expect you to work. She expects you to be mature and take responsibility, so do your work. She'll expect you to read assignments and attend class on time. She's no nonsense, but you learn a lot. She's sympathetic but don't try to bs her. But she genuinely seems to care, and is friendly. Take her!
If she doesn't like you you will know right away and you better drop. She grades according to how much she likes you or not unfortunately. She loves to talk abut herself. So be ready.
Great professor, interesting class discussions. Only problem is that she expects punctuality and responsibility from you, but does not grade assignments on time herself. Have only gotten 1 assignment back with 3 weeks left in the semester.
It was new to me,but sadly it was the wrong subject at first, because I didn't like the class, and felt lost, and feeling like the class had the subject, and knew what they were talking about, and I was not expecting this at all.She doesn't expect lateness on turning papers in.This happened in spring 06.I'm glad it worked out a year later for me.
Took her class last semester. This professor is young, professoinal, and very interesting. She states clearly upfront what she expects, which is responsiblity of students. If you read, attend class and turn inwork ontime, then you would be fine. If you don't read, then you will be lost. She is very serious about her deadlines and attendance.
she is a witch. She excepts so much from students and she dosn't grade papers on time. the semster is over and didn't return the term paper. if she dosen't like you you will get a C. please don't waste ur time with her she is a loser. For a intro class she acts as if it's in 4000 level. she loves to talk about herself. she is an unhappy person
as many students stated she gives too much work at once. she expects us to memerzied the text. she is responsible with her work in which i can understand . but she should realize we are students and we can only learn only so much at a time.
She expects too much from her students. She gives too many assignments at once and expects u to hand them in ON TIME,but she is very lazy herself. I never got back any of my assignments. She spends the whole class talking about her life and teaches u nothing about the 20 chapters u must read and write journals for. I got an A but she is too much
Rarely teaches anything in class; instead she goes on about her life. Her tests cover everything in the chapter even if she didn't go over it in class. Used blackboard to give us study outlines though. Reading the chapters is a must. Pretty easy if you do. Got a B- because I got sick and missed finals. Wouldn't let me retake it with doctors note.
As long as you do the work and show up to class on time, then you're set. She's an enjoyable person, however i did not learn much of anything from her. The class discussions were pretty dry but the readings in the text book are fairly interesting.
M.O. ANT 100 101 Class: Make sure you do all assigned homeworks on time, and you will be fine.Don't listen to what others saying about her. You are expected to read all chapters. The conversation in the class is so interesting, it covers favorable topics.Really I liked the class even if she assigned too many homeworks. I'm going to miss it.Good Luck
Tests are challenging (fill in blanks), but it's easy if you read the book. Then again that's all you do...read on your own. Classes are boring and discussions are not related to the curriculum. JUST DON'T EVER MISS ONE ASSIGNMENT OR YOUR GRADE WILL GO DOWN LIKE NO TOMORROW! EVERY ASSIGNMENT HANDED IN ON TIME IS REALLY NECESSARY! EVEN EXTRA CREDIT!
I remember Saunders emphasizing to the class how strict she was and how she expected everyone to know the material. The class itself was rather easy, all you have to do is read the material; a lot of material. The problem was that all she does in class is tell stories and have long drawn out conversations about life. She doesn't know how to teach.
I would have to agree, she is a tough techer. Don't think about being late for anything. Assignments must be on time, exams covered everything and we didn't learn much in class, but the conversations were very interesting. Overall I admired her intelligence and sterness. GOOD PROFESSOR!!
SHE IS AN AMAZING PROFESSOR, ONE OF THE BEST IVE HAD HERE AT BMCC. SHE ASSIGNS A LOT OF WORK AND IS TOUGH BUT WHO DOESNT LIKE A LITTLE CHALLENGE? SHE IS SO SMART AND WONDERFUL I DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE COULD DISLIKE HER!
She is the worst professor I have ever came across in my life, because of her I earned my First C in college. She is strict and all but the class is easy itself. She was late to class everyday, mostly not prepared. She lacks the teaching skills as well. She can do much better.
Would not recommend to take this proff she breaks balls, to much hw, assignments, journals, essays. expects 5pg papers done in a 3 days knowtice -_- very strict, talks alot about her life instead when trying to explain something. hardest teacher ive ever had.
I think this professor is quite fair. Yes she might give alot of work but honestly what professor doesnt. Its obvious shes passionate about her work which is why shes so happy to bring it up. She does make us read a ton but she has open book exams. Its like shes practically giving us an easy A. :) I enjoyed her class. I would reccomend you take it.
She is a great professor. The work was interesting, and she lets you know your what to expect on the midterm and final. If you keep this in mind, pay attention, and do your work, you'll get an A like I did. She is a bit stern though. Not your typical professor in bmcc.
She is very knowledgeable, clear, and overall likable as a person. However, it feels like she is under the impression of her own class' sole existence. She really does give out too much work and it's quite unreasonable to have such high demands/expectations/deadlines for students that often work, have families, and attend community college.
Great professor. I took her writing intensive class and it was very easy to follow. In the beginning she comes off really hard but she is really nice. A lot of assignments but they are not that hard. Other comments say "homework is hard" but HELLO we are in college its suppose to be! take her its fun!
Professor Saunders is a very nice woman with a poor teaching style. She likes to spend the majority of class "lecturing" about her own life. She also has a list of rules and regulations that will remind you of the 8th grade. I'm surprised she hasn't banned gum chewing or breathing.
You CANT get an "A" with this lady, a "B" or a "C" will be like killing yourself, NO JOKE, our class had to read about 6 to 7 books, NOT KIDDING, the textbook class, two more books for one assigment, and at least 3 book for a research paper, she thinks that class was a 10 credict class. If you don't want your GPA to drop, DON'T take her.
she is a really good professor and she makes her rules crystal clear in the beginning of the semester. its a writing intensive class, of course there are going to be a lot of assignments. she is completely fair and her tests are easy, just study what she tells you too. goes off topic a bit but her personal storys show her passion for anthropology.
Amazing Professor! If you are an adult and can follow directions you will find this course to be very straight forward. She gives you outlines, easy quizzes, and informative lectures. Participate, read, and enjoy all the knowledge she gives you. She should teach at a University not BMCC! Looking forward to taking another class with her.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! If you want an easy going semester and to actually learn something I suggest you avoid her!! She does not teach anything and her class lectures are nothingbto do with the class. All she does is talk nonsense about her life! Waste of time classs!!
very hard to pass her class and you have to do a presentation at the end of the semester that is only worth 10%. she makes you work really hard for things that are not worth it. dont ever be absent nor late. work hard pop quiz and read before u go to class. prepare for hardcore work. she does not tolerate if u dont know the answer she expects alot
Dr. Saunders is a great Professor. She gives a lot work but the work helps you appreciate the course. This is a tough class but she makes it easier to understand. She talks a lot about her personal experience in her field which means she really understands what she is talking about. I strongly recommend her as a Professor.
Prof. Saunders is a nice well educated woman. Her expectations of you is really high. She gives intensive projects due EVERY class meeting, 2 journals a week unexpected quizzes.Shes strict on lateness and absent. Is she a bad prof. No. If you're willing to challenge yourself this is the class to take. I personally wouldn't recommend her
She's a type of professor that makes you feel intimidated. I went to the front of her desk after class to ask her a question and before I got a chance to say anything she cut me off and said why are you approaching me in class, use my office hours. What type of professor does that? You're suppose to be helpful towards your students not evil.
She may seem hard at first but if the work she gives us is actually pretty easy. Quizzes before discussing the chapters, journal entries on chapters, optional midterm that helps your final grade and five papers which are not really papers. Example: One paper was just a dialogue. I thought I was going to get a C+, she gave me a B+.
Her strong suit is lectures. But lectures don't necessarily count as teaching. She gives too much work and although her lectures might be fascinating, her excessive amount of work has NOTHING to do with what you learn in class and its straight up uninteresting. Also her strict rules make you feel like an 8th grader. It starts getting ridiculous.
The workload she gives is very easy but it's her attitude that makes me scared of her. She teaches very well and she is very passionate about her subject but if you have any questions or concerns she seems a little uninterested or unable to help you. She is the type of professor that expects you to get by on your own and by following the syllabus.
Her attitude is Not going according to her profession. She is a RUDE to answer, Much work, she requires everything on time but she did not return your assignments on time. In addition, we do not about our grades she never return quizzes. This class is HORRIBLE!
Prof Saunders is very professional. She is not the professor who treat her students like babies. She is very knowledgeable and has passion for the subject. To pass the class attend class on time, submit work on time, follow the syllabus and READ the text book. Thats not alot :) consider it preparation for 4 year college.
This is an amazing professor. She is very intelligent and not the kind to walk over. Rules and regulations are important to her. If you can read the textbook and participate in class, this would definitely be an easy class for you.
at first I checked here to see what she's about, I thought it was sketchy. it turns out she's actually a great professor, she gives off great vibes and to me her class overall was amazing. this is honestly the type class you'd have to go in with an opened mind. she's great, I love her lol.
If you're looking for an easy class do NOT take her. You will spend the entire semester working on one project. She's very picky and if there is one space where there shouldn't be, she will hand the paper back and tell you to re-do it. She will also ask for a draft but will not read it, and have a classmate read it instead. PREPARE TO READ/STUDY.
Her teaching style is laid back, she scribbles words on the board. Expects students to study independently. You will not pass if you don't frequently check Blackboard and your syllabus for assignments, readings, journal entries, 5page research paper & presentation, weekly test, mid-term & final. Marks absent after 15min Listen to me: Dont Do IT!
I took Saunders two years ago, and although I transferred already, I still remember both her name. Is she picky and strict with silly rules? yes, she is. But she's also a great professor--knowledgeable, humorous and passionate about her subject. I would definitely take her again.
She's rude to students, when students try to ask a question and she doesn't understand what the student is asking she makes the student feel dumb by saying "uhmm i don't know what you mean," and walks away. TOO MUCH HOMEWORK AND PAPERS. Attendance is mandatory. You're absent one time, that's it you're done. Avoid her class..
I'm sorry but no. She's an okay teacher but I wouldn't take this class. If you think you have problems that might prevent you from doing the work or whatever then don't take her because she won't understand. Also, I'm a firm believer in the 11:59 deadline, is something that people who WORK... can work with. Stay away, unless you're in school 24/7.
Her teaching style is alright but goes off topic a lot. You basically have to teach yourself.
I took Professor Saunders in the Spring 2017. Before registering for this class, I saw these comments and I was really nervous. It turns out that she is a really tough profesor who is going to make you work hard to get good Grades. If you work hard she is going to give you a good grade, if not she will fail you. Just work hard and study.
Professor Saunders is very understanding. if you don't believe me go to her office hours
Pretty cool professor. Attend class. Do the work. Few quizzes, but not too many. She tends to go off subject at times. But her stories are awesome.
this professor pilled a lot of work on us and she embarrass you while your presenting which is hard for someone to present. she also give quizzes class time so if you don't study you will fail them.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Beware of this awfulness. Take her only if you have the time and money to fail. If youre one minute late, you are marked absent, no joke. RUDE, not lenient at all, very strict, UNCARING, dry personality, off topic, and a complete NO. If you appreciate a professor with character, she is not for you.
She will cancel class because she is sick yet if anything pops up for you its unacceptable. she will go on about irrelevant things which honestly just makes you want to rip your hair out. I wanted to drink bleach while taking her class, I didn't wake to get up I'm not even being dramatic She made us all depressed. I swear I regret taking her.
She is very tough but professional. She has a Attitude Problem and doesn't know how to speak to certain individuals. It's the Tone in which she talks to a person. You will know first hand if its personal when it shouldn't even come to that. I have experienced it myself and I've talked to another student who has also experienced the same treatment.
Very knowledgeable gives an intense amount of work and never gives any feedback or grades back 14 chapters to read on connect with weekly journals a extra credit midterm, 8!mini assignments that are challenging bc of her grading criteria, goes off topic most the time but its fun attendance matters, cultural final project grades harshly
Despite the frequency of quizzes that she administers (in my case, I wasn't able to finish any), she is funny and gives class breaks. One of my favorite jokes from her is CCM-B (a backward form of BMCC)-used for when something is out of place.
As a mature student I found Prof. Saunders to have a poor attitude and always seemed to be irritated when I had questions pertaining to course work. My goal was to gain a better understanding of the course content and it was always met with negativity.
She's tough but she's fair. If you're having a hard time, meet with her during office hours.
Will respond to 1 of every 5-7 emails
Due to covid-19, of course class went from in person to online and she STILL worried about attendance even with all the chaos going on in everyone's lives, trying to adapt to our "new norm". During lectures, she'd talk about herself A LOT. She is available for her office hours though.
Even you do everything 80, 90/100 she still going to give you c or c+, never reply back, no feedback, never tell you your progress, little time for tests, all the hard work for a c
she talks about her own problem during class hours, she always cancel classes but when its you, that unacceptable, she talks with attitude with people with disabilities because they can't talk fast, she makes you stressed. One time I ask her a question she ignores me and talk to another student make me feel dumb. I regret taking her as a professor
Worst professor ever. not worth the headache. she will cancel class last minute, sometimes not even show up. She is rude to her students, talks about herself nonstop, random pop quizzes. Unclear grading criteria, isn't available for office hrs, doesn't respond to emails. Please save yourself the trouble and take another prof's class
Be prepared to WORK. Lots of individual readings and a lot of the material has to be self-taught. She is no nonsense and can come off as rude but her lectures were entertaining. There is one final project that she grades strictly but gives lots of guidance along the way. I liked her but her class is not for the faint of heart.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR! If you do you will regret it. This is a 3 credit class however, with all the reading and assignments due back to back you will find it very difficult to stay on track with this class. Also, it takes her a long time to grade work which backs up other assigments.
you have been warned stay away from this class!
Wow. I really wanted to take anthropology so bad but Prof. Saunders made this MISERABLE. She doesnt engage with students during lectures and her instructions are NOT clear. She takes FOREVER to grade, and the paper that she requires for the class was set up to be the most boring thing ever and very lengthy on subjects can barely make 3 pages.
Worst teacher alive. You can't get a question through without her trying to cut you off with her smart remarks. Very sarcastic and the way she speeds through material without accepting questions makes you want to punch a wall. I did all her work and she still gave me a half grade on everything and when I reached out to email her, she left me in her
75 min lectures of her droning on. 0% chance to participate or give your insight. Total control freak. Will micro manage everything. From DB post to the name of files you submit! Terrible learning environment. Pushes her own agenda of the world. Will brag about the places she has been. Does offensive stereotypical voices of men. Avoid at all cost.
she is very rude and sarcastic when you ask questions. Doesn't allowed questions to be asked during class and forces you to go to office hours for simple questions. She doesn't acknowledge that students have other classes and gives a lot of homework of connect which is always more than 60 questions a chapter. The class is passable but not worth.
I thought I would love anthropology and I did but my professor..... she is one of a kind. I admire her love for all the student to pass her class. If you do your connect work (very tedious) and your assignment and come to class you will be good. I dont get a A as I should because I forgot to submit my final assignment and didnt do well on final
i havent had a worse experience at bmcc. she uses bare bones premade lectures/slides and doesnt supplement with anything. almost all homework is assigned via connect, a tedious system with zero leniency for lateness. even via zoom, she is dismissive and unhelpful, and just *mean* in a passive way. i cannot warn you enough - avoid her at all costs.
-Fall '22 Her teaching style can improve however as a student, you also need to put in the work. I withdrew from this class since my major didn't require it. There is a lot of reading involved (Connect) and the final project is crucial but it was enjoyable. If you commit yourself to the assignments, you should easily pass.
Very rude gives lots of assignments very strict and very unreasonable
'We have all read the bible'; is that something a professor should say? No professor should be assuming the entirety of the class has read the bible. If she felt the need to speak about religion, she could have spoken about creationism and christianity w/o projecting her probable beliefs onto the students. I haven't & will not ever read the bible.
Unresponsive and dismissive. Emails go unanswered for days, and assignment rules constantly change with no clarity. Bureaucracy at every step makes learning stressful. She discourages questions and shuts down discussion. Feels more about control than teaching or student growth
No clear grading criteria or rubric provided, making evaluations feel arbitrary and confusing. Feedback is minimal or nonexistent, and emails go unanswered. The class feels disorganized and bureaucratic, leaving students uncertain about expectations and how grades are determined
Never learned anything in this class. Lectures were confusing and lacked structure, with no clear grading criteria or explanation of expectations. Emails were ignored, and questions in class were dismissed. Overall, the course felt disorganized and unhelpful from start to finish
Bro.... Please don't take her. I'm trying to save ya'll and your GPA. In the 2 years that I was at BMCC, shes 100% the only prof I couldn't stand. I don't think more than 5 people passed the class when I took it. If you come 10 min late, you're considered absent. I could go on and on, but I'm only limited to 350 characters. Just don't take her.
