Dr. Teander is a wonderful professor. She is interesting, funny, and really passionate about teaching and sociology. She made the class fun but I also learned a lot. Take her if you can! She cares about her students.

Paula Teander is amazing. She has been the most fun professor I have ever had at Wake Tech. I wish I needed to take another Sociology class just to enjoy her teaching and personality. She makes the class laugh and has made Sociology very interesting and fun. It has been a pleasure being in her class, WTC is very fortunate to have her on staff.

Fantastic teacher overall. Three tests, a few class participation exercises and an oral presentation. She's a fairly easy grader and very understanding. A fabulous teacher who is enthusiastic and displays it in her teaching.

Awesome instructor!! One of the best I've ever had. She makes the class fun and interesting. WTCC is lucky to have her as an instructor. Her assignments are easy and she goes out of her way to make sure you pass the class. If you have to take sociology, you definately won't regret taking it with her.

Dr. Teander is absolutely the best instructor I've ever had. I had her three hour class and enjoyed every minute of her lectures. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is honestly one of the kindest and most genuine professors I've come across. I have to say I agree with the rest of the student comments about Dr. Paula Teander. This woman is absolutely amazing! I will say if you cross the line she can be a bull dog but hey, she's a mom. However, she will do everything to help you and she also has a happy spirit. She is a definite must take!

Mrs. Teander is a very kind, sweet, caring professor. She does everything she can to help her students! I thought that the course was the perfect challenge (not easy but not hard). She uses powerpoint to help you along but if you read you wont have to depend on the powerpoints. If you take this class with her you will be good hands!!

Sociology of the Family is a great class! Do your work and pay attention to lectures and you will get an A! There is a midterm and final (50 questions), with four additional writing assignments.

Professor Teander I can say was absolutely the most helpful and interesting professor I've had the pleasure of knowing out of both Wake Tech and UNCW. I had her 3 hour class and I really can say I rarely if ever got bored. She gives you every tool she can for the tests. She enhanced my college experience and I really appreciated her sense of humor.

She is funny and makes class interesting because she is INTERESTED. I will say she is a bit scatterbrained and does venture off topic quite a bit. She also rambles on her exams which makes you doubt your answer. Over all a pretty good teacher (wouldn't take her again)

Mrs. Teander is the best overall teacher I've had in my 3 years of college so far. I had her for SOC 210 and again for SOC 213. She makes class enjoyable even on boring topics with her phenomenal personality. Low textbook use and fairly easy class. I got a solid B in her class.

Fantastic professor!

She used a lot of real-world examples to explain sociology, which I thought was beneficial. She enjoyed student participation in her class and was clear about instructions. For the most part, what was on the test was discussed in class. The Powerpoints she used in class were also posted online.

Decent teacher to say the least.. The Study guide does help for the test just know what the words mean and pay attention in class and you should do good her test are Application type questions so applying the term.

Mrs. Teander... Where to begin? She has no filter. She'll use whatever terminology pops into her head. If you're like me and are used to there actually being limits to what people should say in front of others, you just want to pack up and leave because yes, she can get THAT offensive. She's overly energetic, and kinda annoying if you sit up front.

She is the best professor I ever! She inspires you to strive for the stars. Very kind and jokes around alot. Her favorite term is hollering "Woohoo" when she is lecturing. I hope to take all of the classes she teaches. She posts all of her powerpoints on Blackboard in advance so you never get behind.

Mrs. Teander is a very open minded teacher. She is passionate about her field and loves to give good grades. However, if you do not do the work she asks for, you will not receive a good grade. The tests are multiple choice but 50 questions long and you have to be familiar with a lot of terminology of 3 chapters. Don't take this class if you're lazy

Ms. T is great. The class is an easy A hands down. There are four papers you need to write but they are easy and she is good on grading. She is very out going and will help you anyway she can. She makes the class very fun and interesting. I learned a lot from her and I already signed up for another one of her classes.

Love Mrs. T!!! Her quizzes, journals, and class participation assignments are easy. Be sure how up to class to turn in assignments that are due! Also, take some time and study for her tests. She posts PowerPoints and study guides which are helpful. And most importantly, she is very kind and willing to help her students :)

Hands down one of the best, bubbly kind and caring, uses lots of videos and real life examples in class, only 3 tests (including final) but other easy assignments to boost grade, clear study guides, always shares her snacks, always willing to help students , textbook "required" but never used, i always looked forward to class, 10/10 recommend

Miss Teander was my favorite professor this semester, hands down. She is quirky, a friend, down-to-earth and makes every class FUN. I looked forward to my sociology classes with her every week. Loved her class! She's a ray of sunshine. She will brighten up anyone's day as long as you participate in class! Her lectures are fun and her assignments are clear cut and to the point. She uses her assignments to apply what you have learned to your daily life and it is very beneficial to preparing for tests.

I loved Professor Teander's class! She is by far the funniest teacher I had this semester. Class time is fun and interesting. Reading is definitely necessary, as almost everything on the exams will be covered in the textbook. There are a ton of definitions so make sure to keep up with each chapter. The homework is pretty light and easy.

Dr. Paula Teander is a fantastic teacher. She is so energetic and makes the course material interesting. Almost no homework. Gives opportunities for extra credit. Tests are usually 50 multiple choice questions. Not too difficult if you pay attention in class and take notes. Skip class, you won't pass. I would definitely take her class again.

Mrs Teander is a brilliant teacher who is very intelligent in what she teaches. She is highly admirable, and will tell you exactly how she feels. She is very friendly and easy to reach via email, however she will not tolerate distractions, or rudeness. Not only is she very good at teaching, but she is very fair, and one of the top professors at WT.

She is wonderful. Really openminded and caring. Gives so much extra credit. Turn things in on time and follow the guidelines. The material is common sense, so you don't really need to read; just skim the terms. Reading quizzes, 3 journal sets (relate terms/concepts to personal experiences), and 3 tests. I can't imagine a better/easier professor.

Dr. T makes this class fun/easy + she responds to questions quickly. I took this over the summer, so it's probably less work during the reg semester. Expect 3 total tests (multi choice), 4-5 short writing assignments, + quizzes. Tests are pretty straightforward but u need to know the terms. Read the textbook bc that's where test questions come from

TAKE PROFESSOR TEANDER! She is so great and absolutely precious. She grades INSTANTLY and gives amazing feedback. Regardless of if you reach out to her , she will make you feel like you know her and she cares about you. If you do not understand a concept she will be more than happy to to explain it to. She emails and grades in a timely manner.

I took Dr. Teander's online SOC 210. She was probably the nicest and most caring professor I've had over the years. Although I never met her in person, you could genuinely tell she cared. She always gave encouraging AND personalized feedback on all assignments and the coursework is definitely minimal. Take this course! Seriously.

I so wish I could've taken this class in person. Professor Teander is hands down the best professor I have had for social sciences, and honestly in my two years of being in college so far. She is extremely helpful, caring, and most of all she really wants to you understand all of the invaluable material she has to offer. Would 150% taken again.

Dr. Teander is amazing! She is upbeat and hilarious, and this makes her lectures super interesting. As long as you pay attention during class and take notes, you will do well. Also, the textbook was helpful for studying specific vocabulary terms, but the most important information that is seen on tests come from her lectures.

I took an online class with Dr. Teander and she make the class fun! There is normally two assignments used for participation, one quiz and a written assignment. She is very clear with instructions and has organized folders to find materials. Great professor!

Dr. Teander was a great professor, I took her online this summer due to COVID-19. She gives great feedback on every assignment you turn in, you read a chapter every lesson, post a DBs, and so on. She makes class interesting by always asking how does it fit into your life. She grades assignments pretty quickly, take her class. You wont regret it.

Professor Teander is literally my favorite professor to this day! I took her class last fall and she was an absolute joy to have in class. I have zero complaints. She prepares students very well for tests and quizzes and always helps explain what you might need to work on. If you take SOC 210, you should definitely take it with her!

Professor Teander really pushes you to do your best and genuinely cares about her students. She really highlights connecting topics to the real world, which makes the first test a challenge. The test time is short as well, only a minute a question, but you get used to it. This has been my favorite professor and class. You should take SOC with her!!

This class was easy. If you read the chapters and learn the definitions it's a breeze. 20 min/ 20 Q quiz every week and three 50 min / 50 Q exams. All multiple choice. Some written assignments, Discussion boards sprinkled in. She is always quick to respond to emails and grade assignments. Great Prof, great course!

Be sure to read the textbook and be prepared for weekly quizzes on the chapter you read! She grades fast and leaves the kindest feedback. Also as a bonus, she adds cat memes to each announcement.

Dr. Teander is perhaps the sweetest and the most excellent professor out there! She is always there when you need her, she gives very help feedback and information, her grading is always fair, and she genuinely cares about all of her students - and she shows it. Ms. Teander is an amazing teacher. The workload is very light; one quiz every week and the occasional discussion board or extra assignment. A textbook is suggested but I personally didn't need it. She was always super nice and was open to us contacting her if we had questions. I always appreciated the cat pictures she posted with her announcements!

Prof. Teander is extremely caring and very passionate about her work. She is detailed in her lesson overviews and it's evident she cares a lot about her students. She always attached fun cat pictures to the lesson modules. She's adorable.

Lectures have many real-life examples to help you understand the concepts. Don't miss class as the slides are not always straight-forward and you will need the lecture for additional information. Almost no homework. Grades rely on 3 tests and journals. For the test you need to know what is taught in class, and for the journals what you understood.

Never really interacted with her but she's really nice. Everything is straightforward. Read your textbook and I'll be easy. Nothing to complain about. Quizzes and exams are not easy, but just prepare your self and you will be fine! Gives nice feedback. You teach yourself (online class). End of semester gets pretty easy. Love her cat pictures!

When I took the class we had to have 2 separate groups due to covid restrictions, things have most likely changed now. Amazing teacher, referenced the textbook and went over PowerPoints with the class. There were "pop quizzes" but we were given a heads up. extra credit was also available with some assignments. 100% cannot recommend her enough.

An acceptable course load and very organized assignments in weekly folders. You will need to do some reading, know the vocab words, and participate on time to excel in her course.

Prof. Teander is absolutely amazing. Her online SOC210 class is one of the easiest classes at WTCC. Teander makes the class fun to do, and clearly states instructions and expectations. She genuinely reads every single assignment by every student and responds so that you feel that she genuinely cares about her students. Also her cat memes are cool.

Professor Teander made my experience in the class amazing. She is very caring about her students, and she is very passionate about her teaching. She tells jokes every class, she is open to anything, and she even provides every student a late ticket for the semester. She is very LGBTQ+ accepting, checks in on her students, and is the sweetest human.

Prof. Teander is literally the best! I am currently taking her Intro to Sociology this summer, and it's super easy! Light homework. She is very kind, funny, and very considering!! YOU NEED TO TAKE HER!! I cannot stress this enough, but it's an easy A, kind professor, and great classmates. Even if you're online, everyone's vibe is great!!

Insanely good professor. Always looks out for her students and is very caring and understandable of issues that may come up. Her classes are mostly personal experience based and not lecture heavy, and the tests are extremely easy if you invest some time in studying the material. 11/10 would recommend.

Professor Teander was an amazing professor; she's caring, open-minded, kind, and understands her students. Her assignments were interesting an engaging, yet at the same time they weren't overwhelming. Although she doesn't give extra credit, getting a good grade in her class shouldn't be hard since she gives plenty of opportunities for retakes.

I really enjoyed this professor and her class. She does not do papers but only journals per chapter. Her test were always easy but make sure you read the textbook. She was hilarious in class and always made jokes which makes the class less boring.

Professor Teander gives extremely engaging lectures, you can definitely tell she has a passion for the subject. Pretty easy homework assignments, just some quizzes and short essays (nothing formal: conversational language is fine), and extremely understanding. Just show up, pay attention to the lectures, turn in journals, & do decent on the tests.

Great professor

As a science major, I can hardly pay attention in class (this is my own problem T.T) But overall, her lectures are great (if you pay attention), she is very enthusiastic and caring. She allows cheat sheets but not on the final exam. And you'll have to do one reflection journal on each chapter which she grades easily on.

She is super funny and super nice. She is very good with responses to work, not only telling you where there were faults but also what you flourished in. People say that she is "liberal leaning" but its literally just a class about people, its a sociology course you should know what you're gonna be learning.
