She demands that you register for blackboard, but never uses it. She is ****. Favors people that are "in the industry" like herself. She is very bitter because the farthest she ever got was a buyer for Bloomies. Demands neatness, yet her own handwriting is chicken scratch. Loves to wear forest green tights w/ black skirts. She has rolls!!!

She is nuts. Had her for two classes in a row my first semester. Hope to never have her again, or I may kill myself.

this woman is (to say the least) absolutely rediculous! she's actually quite comical at times - like that conceited **** of a friend we all have, secretly hate, but just keep around for entertainment purposes - but CANNOT TEACH to save her life. seriously, i cannot stress this enough ... IF YOU HAVE HER FOR ANY CLASS WHATSOEVER - RUN!!! she'll make your life a living hell!

she has favorites. shell either know you by name and help you or youll sit in the back and shell forget your there. its not a terrible class, i dont pay attention, she just reads off her notes, and she gives them to you. her tests can be tricky. and be sure not to steal any of her samples....shell freak!

I hated her classes. The worst experience i've ever had. She expects you to know a lot when doesn't even go over the half of the material! textbook is 100% useless. ONLY talks about herself and doesn't care about students. Very annoying voice. Suggest you to drop it asap!

This woman is the worst professor that I have ever had. She is rude and MEAN, her teaching style is RIDICULOUS (main project was based on Chinese riddles) and her grading policies were brutal. Gave me a zero for going 4 words over on an assignment. DROP WHILE YOU CAN! Everyone I know who has taken her classes can't stand her. Should be fired.

Paula, Paula, Paula, where do I begin? Firstly, i would not recommend her. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT OR E-TEXT. Lectures and tests based solely off of powerpoints she's been using for decades. She does not clarify anything. She's a nice woman but tries to be tough and comes across as mean, inconsistent and rude. She can be very unorganized. Avoid, avoid!

Avoid her online course. She's very rude and unhelpful if you need clarity in some areas.

Bring a recording device with you to keep track of what she says so you'll have a record of it when later on she inevitably changes the story and then vehemently denies that she's wrong. Also be prepared to deal with an insufferable amount of typos and a pathetic display of junior high bully antagonism.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Had an awful time working with her- she was constantly messing up the settings on Blackboard, and she is just brutal when grading anything. I got 10 points off for not breaking up my discussion into enough paragraphs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Horrifying experience. I had a family member pass away and she made me cry for missing class because of that and was dishonest about how my group felt about me missing class. Honestly, it was all a pretty scarring experience. I wasn't even looking for her sensitivity but a tiny ounce of respect would've been nice.

Professor Thompson is unprofessional and unhelpful. She states that there are "no dumb" questions in class but she be-little's you when you try to answer. She is slightly disrespectful and does not explain things well. When she lectures, she confuses students more. You have to be able to learn things on your own.

Extremely rude professor. When you ask her a question, she will shut you down with a "no, you're wrong" and not with a reasonable explanation as to why. Doesn't give thorough explanations. In her attempt to explain, it's usually completely off-topic, or already on the slides. Avoid her at all costs!!!

DROP THIS CLASS!!!! This was the worst experience I've ever had with a teacher in my entire life. She was so rude. I took this class as an elective, and ended up with a C+ in this class, having never received a grade below A- in my life. Regardless of what class you're taking with her, drop it.

She is the worst professor/teacher I have ever had in my life. She thinks her way is the right way;will shut you down if she does not agree. She gave my group a bad project grade because I used an index card during the presentation. Loves to embarrass and belittle students. Forced us all to buy $140 workbooks and we did not use half. Avoid her.

The material itself is not that hard but she is a tough grade and extremely unclear. For the midterm she posted a review sheet that did not line up with the actual exam. Everything you do is wrong even when you try to take her advice and feedback into consideration.

Heavy lecturer but not concise. Please do not bother asking questions- very disrespectful when you do and talks down to you. Purchased a textbook we never used, not once. Also, has used prejudice/discriminating remarks several times in lectures.

Worst professor I have ever had. I strongly advice you NOT to take her class. Course is not structured well and the lectures do not touch on what is actually important for class. You could try your 100% hardest in this class and still fail, her way or the highway.

She is extremely unclear about her expectations. This class caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. She over complicates things and it's her way or the highway. The only plus was not having to buy the textbook for this class, otherwise save yourself and get another professor.

SHE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I have never had issues in any of my courses, always been a 3.5 or above GPA student however, she will make sure your GPA is dropped. This professor is extremely discouraging and inconsistent. Instead of motivating students to do better she puts them down and strives to publicly correct and embarrass them

I've never had any issues with any professors and can stick it out with some difficult personalities. But wow, Thompson is another story. She isn't clear and is extremely rude to her students. She'll belittle students who ask questions and she will make mistakes herself (but expect perfection). This class caused me a lot of unnecessary stress.

I have to be real honest but my experience with her was horrific. I just start the class and somehow, she tends to be rude. Most classes I know gives easier stuff but for her, it's complicated.. when you emailed her about the mistakes that you've done, she gives a rude respond. But she makes a mistake, it's not a problem for her. Drop the class!

DO NOT TAKE ANY IF HER CLASSES! Had problems w/ my computer & she gave me zeros on the stuff I missed. My other profs were very understanding! She is rude, disrespectful and condescending. Since then she would grade my journals based on its content not how well it was written. I pay too much $ to be graded based on a teachers feelings toward me.

This professor is very unorignaized and is very wishy washy. She tells you the grading criteria one day and changes it the next. She is very rude and doesnt admit to her mistakes. Very hash on peoples grammer yet makes so many mistakes herself. She says you need the textbook but never uses it. Also is not clear on what is on her exams.

Do NOT, Do NOT take her 224 class!! Her methods of "teaching" are extremely confusing and you're basically left with teaching yourself the whole material. Her tests are quite difficult, and she is also a very tough grader. To put the cherry on top, she gives you SO much homework is quite ridiculous. So please, save yourself and DO NOT take her.

Genuinely considering talking to the FM head about this teacher. She is atrocious, biased, rude, and generally jut a terrible teacher. Can't even hold herself to the standards she sets for the class. Can't even do her scantrons correctly, so ALWAYS CHECK THE ANSWERS AFTER THE TEST. My grade went up 2 letter grades after I found all of her mistakes.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE for 224. Weekly quizzes and a final that is extremely difficult. Promises success at the beginning of the semester, but misgrades, gives attitude when you prove her wrong, and drowns you with work containing content that she does not explain in class (key metrics). Late, and has the audacity to take attendance before class.

The class itself is very interesting, but she makes it UNBEARABLE. Even though I always do my work and go out of my way to participate, I feel like she picks on me a lot specifically. She has a thing for putting students on the spot to embarrass them. Our weekly group projects are also insufferable, and her nit-picky grading system makes no sense.

The class and content itself are enjoyable but the teacher is far from it. She often hounds students to be prepared but is almost never prepared herself and snaps randomly at students for absolutely no reason. The work isnt bad but she often grades harshly and takes points for not knowing content she never taught. If you can avoid her you should.

What she taught in class has nothing to do with her test. And there is no clear grading criteria for works.

This professor is completely inappropriate and unprofessional in all honesty I dont understand how she still has a job. She calls on students in front of the entire class to point out inappropriate things. she asked a student in my class if they were wearing a red bra because she was able to see it. The student didnt own a red bra. Horrible class

Her criticism is usually opinion-based and is hardly ever constructive. There are almost always mistakes and inconsistencies on her tests and slides. She is also very unprofessional when talking to students. Spare yourself the struggle and don't take her class.

Taking FM224 as a summer course. It is online and asynchronous. Thought that a class that doesnt require zoom calls would be a good idea, it wasnt. The material itself is not difficult at all. Unfortunately she requires essay length discussion posts every lesson and grades harsh. Expects way too much and isnt clear on her reasoning for grading low.

One on the worst and most inappropriate professors I have ever encountered. She should not be a professor. She would call out students in front of class and would babble on endlessly about topics not related to the course. She would contradict herself all the time. Not a nice person!!!

TERRIBLE PROFESSOR!! This is the worst professor I've ever had. She makes so many grading mistakes it's frustrating asking her to correct them each time. Everyone did so badly on the exams because she doesn't teach effectively. I usually love math but this class was so brutal.

Professor is super mean. Takes a long time to reply to emails. Is very unclear throughout lectures and with instructions. Does not care, purposely wants you to fail. She either ignores or belittles you. Grades very unfairly and knit-picks. I had to go to the head of the department several times. Does not accept doctors notes or COVID absences.

By far the worst professor I've ever had. She reads straight from the powerpoint, wastes class time with unnecessary group assignments that don't count for a grade, and worst of all she is an opinion based grader. She took points off of the final project because "she didn't like how we boxed in info." horrible professor and do not recommend her.

This class was just beyond horrible! She's such a bad teacher, her grading is tough, she's bad at responding to emails and when she does she gives you a hard time. Yeah there's no sugarcoating when it comes to her this is my honest opinion. I would never recommend this class to anyone and if you have to take her good luck I'm sending you my prayer.

I wouldn't recommend taking professor Thompson, she is never clear on how to do the projects and doesn't tell anyone when the homework is due.

Worst professor I've ever had! Never gave clear instructions or feedback throughout the entire semester and wasn't flexible with grading. Students would frequently mention they were struggling and she gave no help. Was incredibly rude and disrespectful. If the majority of the class fails the final exam you should know you are doing something wrong.

worst teacher i have ever had. She told me "no one gets an A in this class", and will ensure you don't. She gives me zeroes for assignments I did and refuses to change them. During the last few days of class, she started putting in many zeroes, made my grade go down 20 points and immediately submitted grades. Doesnt answer emails. Horrid

The general consensus shown here throughout the 60+ 1 star ratings are all very accurate. Harsh grader. Has many times deducted points even if the work and answers were correct. Makes you question your worth by how she communicates.

I have never felt more bullied by a teacher or professor in all of my years of school nor have I ever seen so many students drop out of a course, but worst of all, I have never heard of this many students failing in a class. Absolutely ridiculous.

She is a very tough grader and took off points for ridiculous reasons. She would get into arguments with students and was heavily opinionated. She would tell us we were going to take a 15 minute break and would not be back for 45 to 50 minutes, then would retake attendance. She does not answer emails and her instructions are very unclear.

The issues with this professor is her lack of interest and care about the course at all. She grades very poorly/overcomplicates very simple assignments. Quizzes are multiple choice and copy paste of the information in the slides she provides, but she will still put no correct answer choices in the some of the questions. You wont get an email reply.

I'm pretty sure this woman is the worst professor at FIT. Confusing, mean, inaccessible and she rarely gives a straightforward answer to anything. I'm just grateful I had her for a class with simpler course matter than the math courses she normally teachers. If you can avoid her, please do so for your own sake.

This professor is absolutely disrespectful, she comes to class at least five minutes every time and always return late on our breaks. She does not allow students to use the bathroom during our four hour class, and claims that the bathroom should be reserved during the break.

She speaks to students in a degrading and harsh manner and does not provide clear directions on assignments. This professor is very hypocritical, telling students that coming in late five minutes is disrespectful, when she is always late herself.

Paula is the most unhinged teacher I have ever had in my life. She yells at students, is a hard grader, is very unclear in her teaching, just overall does not care about anything but making her students lives horrible. Her awful attitude is clearly reflected in her appearance and is giving her wrinkles! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

I've never felt so bullied and belittled by a teacher until I met prof Thompson. If you want to be publicly humiliated and treated as if you are stupid definitely take her class!

I've never dealt with a more unprofessional teacher in my life. She doesn't explain the material and will openly humiliate you for any little thing you do. She makes you feel worthless and there is no way to please her. If you take her class, be prepared to get bullied!

She is not very kind when asking for help, & does not care for her students to do well. Extremely disrespectful. Very disappointed with how I ended in this class, considering it is a 100 level course.

doesn't use any info from textbook or lecture (maybe sometimes but its like DEEP in there " for example: she asked on a quiz " what founder of what company used to hunt whales? " (like the animal" ) answer was Macys.. like what does that have to do with anything. absolutely nothing. anyway. convinced she's out to get her students for fun.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! Take 10 points out of my discussion just because I replied to someone else's before I submitted mine. NEVER gave you an 100 for discussion post, even you wrote it perfectly, she would still take off 10 points for tiny issue. Just don't take this class. Sadly she was my only choice. If shes your only choice just make sure to always know when things are due and never miss or be late with a assignment,hw, or quiz. Do not take this professor! She gives unclear instructions and removes tons of points if you misunderstand what she wants. If you ask for help she gives rude, one-lined responses that offer zero guidance. My entire class has struggled this semester and all have had horrible experiences asking her for help both in person and online.

The only reason I took Thompson was because I didn't want to take summer classes. Since I was a transfer all of the classes with better professors were already full. If I could do it all again..I would take the summer classes. She was so disrespectful and degrading if you questioned her grading. Do yourself a favor and NEVER take her.

I am surprised she still teaches at all. She has unclear instructions on how to do homework and docks points randomly for formatting issues, due to her own unclear instructions. She takes off huge amounts of points for NO REASON AT ALL, and thats if she even gives you credit for an assignment you spent HOURS doing. Either this woman doesn't speak English or I'm illiterate. Doesn't let you try again -terrible at giving instructions-useless replies to emails (Will just tell you to read over the instructions again) Exams are 100 times more complicated+ includes things she didn't teach .no review sheet. Doesn't take accountability but she blames students.

So nitpicky, and would try and dig to find out what's wrong with your work just to give it a bad grade. Said that some of the slides of my group's project were "too wordy" when they were just the requirements to apply to a company IN BULLETED POINTS. "1 typo in this slide, this slide too wordy, this is not bulleted so you are getting a B."

Everytime I read her emails I want to explode. She would criticize you for having 1 little typo and managed to write like she was 1 years old. Doesn't respond to emails unless it's "read the instructions" or the most hard-to-read 5 sentences ever.

One of the most confusing professors I've had. She's a harsh grader, gives unclear instructions, and her grading often feels random. She rarely replies to emails and doesn't seem to fully engage with student work. Would not recommend at all, if you can find a better professor please just pick them over her.

The professor never answered emails, took off points even though I had the correct answer (just not written out as she liked). Horrible directions to every part of the class. I would never take her again. She just doesn't seem to care.

She clearly does not care. None of my class even knew we had a final exam bc a. she made no announcement & b. it was supposed to be open 2 days ago and is still not. Quite literally had peers emailing ME w/ questions bc they couldn't reach her. There was also a group project, which was extremely difficult to coordinate online. Grades harshly.

If I could give her a 0, I would, but the lowest I can rate her is 1. Shes disgustingly horrible. Ive taken her twice, thank God. I barely passed with her insane instructions.
