She keeps you interested with her stories. The test come mainly out of the study guide, and the test aren't that bad. Take her if you can!

If you're looking for easy, this is the place to be. Plus she is interesting and very animated. The outline she gives is basically the test. I would highly recommend her.

varnado is an awesome teacher for anyone who knows nothing about psyc. i had her for 101 and she told the best stories and gave great examples. she gives you an outline of everything she will cover in class and goes right along with it ! i highly recommend her for anyone!

She is very nice, is funny, and relates the material to her life experiences and ours as well. If you study her textbook and read the actual textbook chapters you should do fine. Some of the questions on her tests can confuse you but overall she isn't all that bad...like I said shes really nice, will help you out, and is easy going!

She is very nice and funny as hell! She tells many stories that go along with the subject material. Remember to read the textbook because there are questions on the test that are straight from the textbook and she dosen't go over them in class! You have to buy an outline for the class but it is very helpful! This class made me reconsider my major

teacher is one of the easiest teachers i've had in my freshman year. very helpful if you go talk to her and get to know her on a personal level. go to class and pay attention and you will do well. her tests have some questions that come from her lectures. her lectures keep you entertained and are very interesting. outline of notes in bookstore.

I loved Dr. Varnado! i'm a psyc major, and plan to take every class she teaches! The stories she tells in class are memorable, and really help on the tests. She throws in 5 questions straight from the text book (out of 50 questions), and 1 or 2 that are only covered in lectures. She gives a few chances for bonus points. TAKE HER! SHE KICKS ***!!!!

Before I took this professor, my major was poli sci. After taking her for Psyc 101, I changed my major to psyc and I haven't looked back. Prof Varnado makes her lectures entertaining and memorable for everyone, even those who have no interest in this field! I recommend taking any of her classes!!

Great stories, pretty cool lady. I found the tests kinda hard. She doesn't give a lot of points, so you really have to not screw up. Do the experiments, are the extra ones for bonus b/c they are so easy. Pay attention and really STUDY hard, and you should do better than i did, lol.

She is a great teacher. Outline is a majority of the notes but you really need to go to class. Gives bonus for attendence and very easy pop quizes (1. Name 2. date ... get the idea). You need to read but she will tell you what to focus on for text only questions. If someone thought this class was too hard they didn't listen to Dr. V

Great teacher. Uses real life examples, not theoretical silliness. Tests have a few text questions. If you study the outline or come to class alert you will make an A. If you respect office hours she will help you in every way possible.

She's an interesting and passionate teacher. Her lectures are also interesting and pretty entertaining. The tests are easy as long as you read the outlines she posts and the chapters because there are questions from the text. Also she gives quizzes that are questions like what is today's date. I highly recommend the class.

She uses many examples and has a really funny dry since of humor. I would take another one of her classes any day. I learned a lot. She teaches many psychology classes at SLU.

Do not take her!!!!She is very hard!!!!You think you know it, but really you don't. She gives you the outlines and stuff, but you have to study the text extremely hard if you're gonna past this class. Sure she teaches good, but exams are very hard and you better have a great memory!

Dr. Varnado is the absolute best professor I've ever encountered. Her class is ALWAYS interesting. She provides outlines for her lectures. There are 3 exams, the 4th being the final. There are usually 5 text-only questions from the chapter... She offers plenty of bonus! Made me change my major to Psychology. Take her if you get the chance!

Dr. V-S is absolutely great! She's the best professor I've encountered so far at Southeastern. Her tests are straight from the material, she posts grades super fast, and she provides helpful outlines. She's got an awesome sense of humor, and she keeps it fun. I've really enjoyed her class. I'm an english major so psycology is not my strong suit...but she is very interesting and works really hard to keep you interested. She is by far the best professor I've encountered at SLU so far. Her test are stright forward, but you do have to study for them. And she gives lots of bonus for people who show up!

Dr. V-S is the best professor at SLU, period. She is extremely fair, extremely smart, and extremely helpful. I couldn't possibly recommend a better teacher than her. Go to class because of her quizzes and she gives 10 bonus point for perfect attendance. Nothing else really needs to be said, she's simply the best in all aspects.

Dr. Varnado-Sullivan lectures with an ample supply of readily available illustrative examples of what a practicing clinician may encounter and the application of techniques. Very informative and knowledgeable in the area of clinical psychology and assessment. She also tries to make the course inclusive for all, even students not on a clinical path

TAKE HER!! As long as you go to class and pay attention it is so easy to make an A. She gives bonus points for attendance. She tells you to read the book before the test for text only questions but I never did and still made a B or higher on all tests. Tests are easy but don't miss one because make-ups are hard! She makes the class very enjoyable.

Dr. Varnado is one of the best professors at this university. I had a health emergency during her class; she was understanding and helpful for the duration of the course. It is easy to get distracted but she allows recordings of lectures. Tests are reasonable and her pop quizzes are free points! I have taken her twice and I highly recommend her.

She has absolutely changed my perspective about how I look at psychological disorders and people with them. She uses her REAL clients as examples. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her.

I love this lady! She is super funny and blunt but in a good way. She knows how to really get the class involved. Gives PLENTY of opportunities to keep your grade up even if you fail every test. Dr.V is a straight savage! Had her for psyc 416&350. Lectures are online, but adds more info and also takes things out in class. Pop quizzes are NOT bonus points, consist of; name, date, w#, etc. Students kept leaving so she was feeling petty, made the quiz worth 10 instead of 5. Gets off track but to explain the material to real life. Love her!

You have to really pay attention in her lectures because she gives a lot of long-winded examples, so you have to stay with her through them. Read the book. She also rewards the people who come to every class with bonus pop-quizzes and answers to secret test questions.

She's an amazing professor! I took her for abnormal this semester and she really connects her topics to interesting stories. Attendance is not mandatory but you do get bonus points for going! Two online tests and two in class tests. Each test had a text portion you could either read or find online!

I love Dr. V-S. She is funny and can make class interesting and easy to understand. However, she gives very specific stories and examples in class that WILL show up on exams. She also goes off on a lot of tangents that seem to go on forever. If you are okay with that, for sure take her! I had no problems, but some people weren't happy about that.

Dr. Varnado is a very great teacher! She provides great examples within her lectures that help with remembering concepts. She also focused and went more into details that students in the class expressed interest in. You can tell that she really cares about her students wellbeing.

Dr. V-S is such a great teacher. I've had her for 3 classes and have thoroughly enjoyed each. She is very accommodating and really listens to her students. You'll never get out of class early, but her lectures include a lot of real world examples so they're pretty interesting and makes the time go by faster. Highly recommend taking Dr. V-S

I loved Dr. Varnado! She always included stories within her lectures that made the information much more interesting. She can get off topic and it is a little hard taking notes in her class but I enjoyed her class. You have text only assignments in the textbook that are pretty straight forward and the exams are take home so those are fairly easy.

Dr. V-S was my favorite professor last semester. Her lectures are very interesting and she caters them to what the class wants to learn about. Notes are printable powerpoints that can be used on tests. I suggest writing on them bc she only has a few tests per semester. Text only assignments (read and response) are a bother but easy 100s. TAKE HER!

Literally loved her! She was always so helpful and really willing to help with assignments! 10/10 recommend. You have to be able to listen to her stories and connect them to the material because there aren't always notes to take.

I took her for persoanlity and loved the class. If you dont attend class, you will fail the tests. The tests are constructed of the things she goes over in class- specifally her examples. Show up and take good notes and- it will be an easy A.

Super cool prof. keep things interesting and those who complain about her stories either don't go to class or already don't wanna be in there and wish they could skip but need the examples for the test. Her personal stories are linked to the lecture so take notes on them, for a 400 course she is understanding and not to hard would def recommend.

Dr. Varnado is so funny and isn't stuck up, she personalizes 223 assignments to each students' specific psych career goals. She bends her material around what students want to know more about. Late work is graded with not much of a point take-off. You can miss some classes and be fine. But participate so that she knows how to help you ^-^

She had a great personality and tried to make it interesting and fun! I could tell she was very knowledgable and appreciated the personal experience she had to offer. Only thing was that the beginning of the semester was so so slow. We were on intro slides for an insanely long amount of time and ended up running out of time to cover everything.

Dr. V-S is wonderful. How I ended up in the class is a long story but needless to say she is extremely caring and wants to see you succeed. I love her as a professor and as a department head. She's interesting and fun to talk to, if you're a psych major you should definitely take a class of hers at least once.

lots of opportunity for easy points. exam questions come directly from ppts or lectures, some questions come from specific examples made in class. attendance not mandatory but for bonus points. very engaging and inspirational, responds to emails in a timely manner and is respectful and realistic. very deserving of the department head position.
