Great professor. Always answers questions, is always available after class, doesn't give anything on exams that he does not cover during lecture. Has an accent, so you need to speak English fluently. His explainations are clear to understand, and he has a good sense of humor. He doesn't lecture straight from the book, which is refreshing.

He is an amazing teacher, he cares about the students and stays after class for as long as needed to explain everything. I got an A in his class without using a book. His lectures were very clear and his tests come from his lectures so listen to him, ask questions and averyone will be fine. If he sees that you care he will help you a lot!!!

Best chemistry teacher at GCC. Very understanding and friendly. He tries his best to teach the class and stays after class to help his students.Chemistry isn't an easy subject, therefore you would have to practice on your own. You're the best Glukhovsky! :)

Some of the previous comments are frauds. This professor gives ample examples in class, always puts material on the exams that he covered in class, is always going the extra mile to help. If you don't have the level of chem 101 go back to 110. If you came to this class without prior knowledge of chemistry that is your problem. Don't expect him to make everything easy for you. He is a great professor and GCC needs more professors like him.

Personally, I really enjoyed his class. His lectures were informative and he always made himself available-even when he didn't have to. If you are a future student and you are serious about the subject, read your book, do the problems, and use his office hours when something goes over your head. Be responsible for your education.

He is one of the best chem profs out there. Not an easy class, but if you keep up with the homework, you should do fine.

He is very helpful, and available if you "just don't get it!" His teaching method is dynamic, and he is really into helping you understand chemistry.

Whoever writes bad comments about Dr. G. is probably even not his student. I took his class this summer and enjoyed the lecture with him and the lab with Oganesyan. They taught the class very good. I hope they teach 102. Dr. G. do not believe this person, this is just a hateful person. You were very hellpful. and very smart

Subject is hard, but teacher is great!!! He makes it so clear...wish all chem instructors were like him....

Very easy tests, VERY easy. Lab is very easy too! Hes very chill. Funny accent though haha. If your a girl he will go out of his way to tutor you and give you lots of help. His exams are so damn easy. Compared to other teachers this class is an easy A if you know what your doing.Teach 102 Professor!

Course is hard. But professor is extremly helpfull. Has longer office hours when needed, especially before tests. Thought I would fail the course, but with his help got "B"....To bad he is not teaching Chem102. we will miss you....

Prof G. explains well, even with a Russian accent, his lectures are good. The tests are based on the lecture and SI. Study the SI again right before an exam, go over all the lecture notes, and then read the book.

Truthfully speaking, he is a great teacher. He is extremely helpful. He acts mean, but he's really nice. Make sure to take his lab because thats were he gets to know you. His tests are baby calculations. Listen to his lectures and do the problems in the book. Test questions are similar to what he does in class. Btw, he curves at the end of semester

I took Balakin last semester, and this teacher is so different from him! He has long office hours, spends time answering your questions, he is very consistent with his grading! Yes, he has an accent, but its kinda cool and we can still understand him very well! I had him for both lab and lecture, very helpful. Take him!

I have read all reviews. Majority of them were positive and I decided to take this class on summer with Dr. Glukhovskiyi...Indeed, I am learning a lot now...he is so engaged into subject and teaching and so knowledgable...

If you do not have time to study, don't make it his fault. He was staying after lecture to help with the questions every day. If there was any discrepancy in teaching, he always gave credit. And do not cry for fair, it is funny! You are in to learn, so do your best. I am sorry Dr. G. you have to deal with these comments. Thank you for everything.

Dr. Glukhovskiy is a nice professor he teaches everything crystal clear . Attend the class ,do the hw ,SI & read the book carefully & u'll do well on the test, cause most of the questions are similar to SI. His lab is also supper easy & fun . Thank u dr. "dumb down"..whew..:) have you read the book at least to say if he does or does not "dumb down"? He makes it so clear by breaking everything into simple terms. Even I did not do as well as i hoped, i liked the way he taught. I learned a lot.

Easy or not first depends on how many tests you have form his past classes. Second, he is cool guy with accent but he explain clearly. His method is different to raise a question and then answer it. No extra credit or mark up exam. No study guide. he explain through ppt. he didint do any test review after exam or hmw ansewrs. u've to type hmw.

He is not so easy but make sure to write everything that he writes on the board because the problems solved on the board are going to be on the test for sure. some of the test problems are similar to the SI questions. He is a helpful professor and make sure to attend his office hours because he will explain whatever you ask in detail.

I took him in Fall 2014 and am planning on taking him for Chem 102 in Spring 2015. His tests are tough, but not if you have a previous test which most of the class had. He gives opportunities to raise your grade with the homework -- which really helps to do. He also gives supplementals which act as study guides for the tests and are necessary.

I took chem 101 with him and received an A. I took chem 102 with him the next semester and was not doing well due to personal problems so i had to drop with a W. but his teaching style is very clear. His exam questions are similar to what he goes over in class and the problems in the back of the book. I plan on retaking 102 with him!!

Dr.G is a great professor. He really wants his students to do well. he will help you with any question. Go see him in his office. You have to work. he knows his stuff

He is highly skilled and prepared for his class. He knows the subject like no one does, and explains very clearly at the lectures. He makes sure that every single student studies at his class and gets better grades. Amazing professor and expert in his subject. I strongly recommend you to take him but you have to be attentive to his lectures. !!!

You can get an A in Chem 101. The tests are really hard to get an A on, but you have to do all the problem sets. It can take up most of your days and weekend. The MS PowerPoints were okay, but if you listen carefully to his explanations (record lectures) then you get some "ah ha" moments. You won't have a life though. The R.O.I is low for Chem.

Great teacher, very clear on his expectations. Explains step by step, so you do not get confused. Stayed for hours for office hours and helped a lot with all questions. The exams are difficult, but doable. Gives homework for extra credit, so it helps. He has good personality, it helps him to connect with students.

Had him for 101 and 102. He knows how to teach, especially 102. Was crystal clear, nver behind the schedule. Ask questions, and he will stay beyond office hour to help you. very nice professor.

Dr. Gluhkovskiy is an amazing professor. He obviously cares for his students. Although this was not a easy class (as any Chem classes are), he made it interesting and easy to learn. The homework was definitely helpful, and if you do the problems until you get them, you'll be just fine. And BTW, thank you for extra credit presentation!!!

Great professor. Do the homework ahead of time. Homework and SI's are the best way to study. Listen his lectures and may take pictures of slides.. Make sure you do well in the beginning because the final is very difficult.

Best instructor ever!! This is seriously a tough class, but Dr. Gluhovskyi will give you all the tools necessary to be successful, you just have to really work for it! The exams are hard, but there is extra credit and partial credit is given. I enjoyed this class because of Dr. Gluhovskyi, he is dedicated to his students.
