I found this teacher to be passionate about the material and a excellent instructor.

professor uses powerpoints, which are helpful to organizing the material for tests. tests are not too hard if u study. i like her teaching style. very open minded.

I think that she is a great teacher. People shouldn't be so uptight to the views of sociology and if they are then don't take the class. Why come on here and fuss about it? Ms. Andrews goes above and beyond when it comes to helping her students. She could just make u read from the book.

One of the most memorable classes I have taken. I took a lot away from the class which is more than I can say for any others. She has a great attitude on life and motivates while she teaches. Excellent instructor and excellent person to talk to! Take her class if you can get into it. I guarantee you wont be sorry. (You can thank me later)

coming into this class I didnt know what to expect,Ms.Andrews makes it so much more interesting and makes each student feel like she can relate to them.it was a fun class, not that hard,study your lectures and you will do fine!

Don't let her southern accent fool you, she is very intelligent and really knows her stuff. She is good at relating the subjects to real life and motivates her students to believe in themselves. I highly recommend her.

Mrs andrews gives hard tests so you must study hard but i definintly like her class. i have her on my schedual for next semester. Class can be fun. If you come every day it is much easier.

I loved this class--took it online and got to write papers about the issues in our society. It really makes you realize how dysfunctional this whole country is!

She believed in every student that came through her door and went above and beyond what was expected of her to help every person. I've had Ms. Andrews for 3 classes. She knows her material and adds a personal touch. The comment about her class being a woman's support group is crap. I'm a heterosexual guy and I enjoyed her style and her classes. The family class is a little "touchy/feely" due to the subject material. If you don't like her class, just drop it! Bashing her onlin

Ms. Andrew's was by far one of my favorite instructors!! She goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you comprehend everything. If she realizes that you're putting forth an effort, she will help you in anyway possible! She wants to see all of her students succeed. GREAT TEACHER!!! Highly recommend her!! =)

I had Ms. Andrews for Sociology of the Family. It was a great class, she is very knowledgable and makes the concepts easy to relate to your own life. The class was well-organized and it is easy to do well if you go to class and study the powerpoints.

she was a GREAT teacher! study the power points and you'll get an a for sure! hardly any homwork and she gave us lots of chances for extra credit! she did her best to make class interesting! its was very fun wish i could take it again!

I have had Ms. Andrews for 3 different classes, and she has been amazing every time! Uses powerpoint, gives opportunity for extra credit, clear and organized teacher, very open and relatable. She teaches right from her power point notes. Overall an interesting class with realatively little effort. Just go to class and listen. An A is definitely attainable.

Great teacher, she's always willing to help you out. I also took her intro to sociology class and I started out failing it, but she helped me out and I ended up with a B. Couldn't ask for anything more in an instructor.

Great professor, great class, you'll learn a lot. Her tests are fair. And, she's great to stay in contact with after the class is over. Definitely take her class...go to class, pay attention, you can absolutely get an "A."

I have taken her 3 times and would take her again! She is a great teacher who has a very open mind. Treat her with respect and she does the same for you. Not a lot of work, some light papers, a case study, show up and take notes and you will pass.

Amazing teacher, very interesting and she knows what she's talking about. She's sarcastic and funny, which I thought was nice, not just a bland reading of the textbook.

Took her online - 4 grades ONLY, no discussion board or papers just 4 tests that you have about 2minutes each question so you can look them up. Easily a B if you don't even read the material and just use the index to look each question up. 1 optional extra credit assignment that replaces 1 test grade that is 10 three page essays, yikes.

This professor is wonderful. She is very sarcastic and funny which helps make the class interesting. She is always willing to help out with open arms. I know I could come to her if I needed anything on a personal level. She is an EXCELLENT professor.

Ms. Andrews is great! I don't care for Sociology much, but she explained concepts clearly and made it very bearable. She applies the concepts to real life situations and frequently gives useful advice for dealing with life. It was one of the easiest courses I've taken.

Great Teacher. Applies theories to daily living. I'd take all the classes she's teaching if I could. She makes it fun and interesting.

Payton is awesome. She allows a lot of freedom of interaction in class, and encourages students to have an opinion and ask questions. She is also very helpful and willing to work with anyone, so long as they show interest and/or a genuine attempt in the class.

Andrews is not like any other teacher I've ever had. She's laid back and chill and will help you whenever you need it. Her teaching style is different and she basically lets you choose how she teaches and what you want to learn (for the most part). Overall very nice and a good teacher.

I loved her class. I definitely recommend her. She is so laid back and chill and leaves it up to you to learn if you want to but doesn't push you like other teachers. Class was really interesting in my eyes because it was personal. she is really awesome and we still keep in touch.

I thoroughly enjoyed Intro to Sociology with Ms. Andrews. This class was "easy" but that's not why I enjoyed it. She spends time at the beginning of the semester to let you get acquainted with your classmates so discussion is very free, fun and comfortable. Material isn't overwhelming, but important points are emphasized. Highly recommended

I learned so much from Ms. P's sociology class this semester. She taught the theories and perspectives of sociology in a way that I could relate to; thereby allowing me to absorb and comprehend more. She's given me a new perspective to look at the society I live in and how I've developed as an individual within it. Thanks Ms. P!

Ms. Andrews kept it real. She doesn't ask too much and tends to be very inspiring and gives a student every opportunity to succeed. DO NOT act like an idiot, she WILL call you out for it. Be prepared, be professional and you will find she can be a true ally.

Ms. Andrews is an awesome teacher who genuinely cares for her students. She is very encouraging and tells us we can do anything that we put our minds to. If you ever have any questions she never makes you feel dumb, and answers very thoroughly.

Ms.Andrews is very passionate about this subject. She is not afraid to tackle the more "controversial" aspects of sociology. She gives a minimal amount of out of class assignments and tests are basically straight from the power-points. Her demeanor is geared toward preparing students for what is/will be expected of them upon graduation.

Best teacher at Cape Fear! She really cares about every student in class, taking time to talk to everyone individually. You learn a lot through her lectures and she encourages discussions. You should never text in class and defiantly not in hers. Wish I she taught more classes I needed.

Only negative is what's learned in the classroom has NOTHING to do with test/quizes online. You must teach yourself from the book for tests

Ms. Andrews was always professional yet supportive to my personal issues. She gave interesting lectures. I took her for two classes and I have referred many friends to her classes. Take her class if you get the chance. She was one of my favorite instructors not only at CFCC but out of the 2 other universities I attended as well!
