He's Ok really boring though. No work just tests sometimes. He says fail everytest and do 25 current event at the end of the semester and pass the class.
just do your current events or book report.

I failed almost all the test and I did the EASY current events, I passed with a B. Only problem is that he is VERY boring, all he does is lecture and he always goes of course on his subjects.
He just reads his lecture to you and doesn't specify what is on the test. Very hard to take notes from him too
I took him in summer skool. It was easy. Just do your current events. Funny guy. Hes a Republican, thinks Democrats are a bunch of dorks.hahha
I took him for a summer class and never had any idea what he was talking about the whole summer. However, I barely read through the book and finished with a high A. He has a great grading policy...on tests he takes second and sometimes even third best answers.
Easy A! Just show up to class and you will get a good grade. He doesn't do a review, but he has a huge curve on his tests. Must do articles. Very nice and cares about students and that outweighs the fact that he can be a little longwinded.

he is such a joke. if you do the current events you'll pass no matter what you get on the test. downside, its hard to stay awake in his class and DONT TAKE NOTES, its pointless. He will try to make jokes (but their not funny) and loves to say "Estupido"
He is probably the worse teacher EVER grrr. He expects you to read 6 chapters and know everything for the test including the lecture notes. There is no point in asking him for help. He will NEVER review so you have no clue what to study! The only good thing is the current events..your only hope!!
"Uno, ocho, cinco, rojo.." LOL. Very cool teacher. Cares deeply about what he teaches. "Democrats are are stupdos...just kidding" a quote from Ramirez. A strong Republican. Do your current events, and not the night before!! Start them early, and include all months before it has to be turned in.
Very nice professor. I took him for Gov't 2301 & 2302, two A's. Can be boring,but gives you info. not usually in textbooks. Huge cuve on test. Absolutley do Articles. He really cares about students and wants them to do well.
Didn't like his teaching style. he reads right from his notes, but expects you to know that book and his lecture for his tests. Also has a very dry sense of humor
Well, he seems nice, but this is the only class I've ever had trouble taking notes in. He curves, but you should save yourself the trouble and take Wigginton.
He is very conservatively biased. I'm not saying don't take P.E, I'm saying pretend to be a conservative for a semester so you can get an A and then you're out of there. Most ppl don't do it, but volunteer work ends up easier than the articles (and memorable + on your resume).
very kind man; however, lectures are hard to follow sometimes. be sure to study hard for tests because he words questions so that they really make you think. must be the attorney in him! dry sense of humor. as long as you attend class and show interest, you'll pass!
p.e. is a very nice guy. as long as you get someone to sign in for you, then you're set. hes very laid back, and if you make his day right before you take the test, then you're set.
One of the best times i have ever had.He really just tells how democrates are a bunch of morons.Very fun and entertaining.Hope to have closed-minded mexicans in your class because Sr. Ramirez loves to tell mexican jokes and some folks can't take a joke and it will lead to many akward moments.Pay a conservative to write papers and you will do great.

Very Kool Guy! If you go to class "EVERYTIME" you well pass the class with a good grade. His tests can be tricky the way he words them. He jokes a lot and hates democrats!!

Talk to the Hand , Very boring, but you'll pass if you go to class . He is a republican and let you know, talks down to democrats and too much about democrates!!

I took him over the summer and he was a wonderful teacher! he was very funny. He grades really easy he has 1st best answer 2nd best answer 3rd best answer and 4th best answer so you really cant go wrong with that! also he gives lots of extra credit just show up to class and you will do fine! take him!
Take this class! I took him for both GOVTs and made A's. The tests are very easy and if you do the current events you will definitely make a good grade in the class. EASY, EASY, EASY. Just don't take offense to his jokes and comments. He uses them to teach and play "devil's advocate" as he calls it. Good class overall.
Professor Ramirez was somewhat amusing enough but I felt as if his classes dragged on. It will be difficult for those who like to take a meticulous professor since he slipped back and forth from past and present topics. He gets off topic easily and takes “second best answers” on exams which he also does not give a review for. Mainly, with this guy, don’t bother buying the book, take lots of notes, and read over them for the exam.
EASY CLASS! All questions on his test come from the textbook, just read the chapters he assigns and you'll pass. Also he like to give credit for second, third, and fourth best answers... and he's always willing to give extra credit for those who ask.
A good professor and teacher, knowledgeable in his field and willing to work with you if you work or have other issues. Easily grants extra credit.
This professor is one of the best I've taken in a long time. He cares about your future and if you are struggling with a family; you should take his class. He gives out extra credit to help with your GPA at the end. For students like me who have been going to school off and on for a while and working this is your man!
Extremely hard to understand and incoherent. Jumps from one fact to the next without warning or without waiting for you to right down notes. Starts off class with spanish and thinks that its funny. DO NOT TAKE.
He is a very easy teacher, his lectures are boring at time but he's very easy if you attend class and take notes. I havent read the textbook all year and I still pass my test with a high B or A, I totally recommended this teacher to anyone!!!
Perhaps the best math teacher I've ever had. He gives NO HOMEWORK,but does expect you to study the material. He works out every step to make sure you understand it. He's willing to answer any questions you have about the curriculum during or after class. Be careful though, you will get the evil eye if you're caught chatting during his lectures :)

This was a great time for me b/c of the presidential campaign. BTW, you get extra credit if you participate!!!!!Vote RON PAUL!!! I've never been so motivated, thanks to Professor Ramirez. He also puts a twist on what govt. is really about. This class should be a prerequisite for every american citizen. RESTORE THE CONSTITUTION!!!
this man is the most ridiculous and worst professor i have ever taken. yes, he's an easy A, but you will not learn anything from him except how the declaration of independence is like a centaur. his lectures are incoherent and he often drones on off topic for obscene amounts of time.

O.K nothing upsets me more than an ignorant student cutting a good teacher down. Ignore those comments maybe the're upset because they didn't pass the class. But if you take him you are guarranteed to pass.. he grades so easy on the tests, you do have to take lots of notes for the test.. text is not really required. If you want an easy A take him.

I didn't learn anything from this class. You don't need the textbook. I made all C's in my exams, maybe if I read the book I would've made a better grade. I must admit that I passed the class with a B, but that was because of an assignment that we can turn in at the end of the semester for a grade. He can be funny at times, that's all.
As everyone has already stated, this is an easy teacher. He can be boring at times.. 100 question tests, 50 correct answers for an A. You can take notes if you want to, they won't help. You do not need the book. You will not learn much in this class. He talks about wanting to teach to help kids succeed in life, when he is really just crippling you.
He is nice and easy as we all know. He is interesting if you pay attention in between the lines of the lecture. He is a little dry I must admit but has good intentions. I would defenately take him if you have other classes you need to focus on for your GPA. Make sure you do the extra credit and you will make an A.
Government has been spun around to make Democrats look good in some textbooks, and the same has been done for Republicans on occasion. Mr. Ramirez takes no sides. A lot of people think he's a conservative Republican, but that couldn't be more far from the truth. He's an independent. He loves to play devil's advocate and make you think for yourself.
do yourself and take this class... he has a wealth of knowledge of GOVT from the entire American and Texas experience. Easy "A" if you go to class everyday and take notes...
funny, sarcastic, nice. He understands that the majority of us only take govt because it's required. He makes the lectures interesting, but they're straight from him. No powerpoints. If you skim through the book (read the definitions once or twice, skim over pages) and take good notes you'll be just fine. I made a B.
Grgeat teacher. will teach you about people the text books have managed to forgot to mention. lets you see things from different perspective not the books. His ideas or point of views are better than the books. go to class and take notes= good grade
I would not recommend this professor. His lectures are extremely boring, and he teaches straight from his own notes. There is no excitement what so ever. It's an hour and a half of him talking about government and that's all. You have no other grades besides his tests, and they are 100 questions long sometimes. I find myself fighting sleep in there
Doesn't take much from the book; in fact, he doesn't even require you to buy a book. Most of his lectures are from his own knowledge, which is pretty expansive. Listening to him/ good attendance are key in passing his class. Sometimes lets his political views slip into his teaching, but it's not too distracting after the first few days. Nice guy.

Very helpful and interesting. He makes you really think about the government today. Keep an open mind when listening to his comment you may learn something you did not know. He offers tons of material to back up his examples.

I took him because everyone on here said he was an easy A. I make A's in all my classes but for some reason he gave me a B. I was pretty upset seeing that it's my first B. I does give out major curves, but he is kind of disorganized. I wouldn't recomend him for any of my friends and I switched to a new govt teacher this summer session.

Omg! Worst teacher ever! Everyone says he is easy. I have never had a C on my transcript and thanks to his class, I do now. His tests really are a joke. I seriously studied and still couldn't make higher than a C on my exams. His lectures are unorganized and the test has nothing to do with his lectures. Do not take him!!

Worst teacher i have possible ever had. He spouts his opinion endlessly and doesn't bother teaching you real government facts. I took notes writing down EVERYTHING he said until the first test. It was useless. His tests aren't based off of what he teaches. They are random court cases and questions about fact even though he teaches opinion only.
The worst teacher I have ever had. He would call students stupid in class and refused to teach anything he just constantly spoute his political beliefs and called democrats dumb. He is disrispectful and makes sweeping generalizations like all gays are rich. That is a quote. Even for 3 weeks it was almost too much to take.
Really boring. It's not really much government. But a lot of history and since I took it as dual credit and just finished AP US History I basically fell asleep everyday cause he was so boring and spoke Spanish sometimes. And I passed all two test with easy A's.
Had him for government 1 and 2. Great teacher. Show up, do extra credit, try on the tests and have a voice. State how you feel about the government! He likes that even if he doesnt agree! Great teacher. Would reccommend to anyone
I ended up having his class with a good friend of mine. Both of use are excellent students and we made good grades in his class. But I must warn, although he knows a lot about Govt, he is a TERRIBLE teacher. As said, he gives major curves. But overall, I wouldn't recommend him. Most of the time he isn't even talking about govt or anything testable.

Lectures are long and boring. Attendance is only mandatory if you're 100% sure you're going to make an A so you can be exempt. Read the chapters he "suggests" for each section and you might get an A. Do the extra credit to help your average. He's nice and jokes a lot. I'd suggest another teacher if you're looking for more than just a passing grade.

OMG. I just took this professor for 2301 and 2302 during the summer for transfer credits, and wow I wish I would have taken another professor. I got B's, but only because you REALLY never know what will be on the tests. I feel like he was more lenient to us because it was summer, but I really don't recommend him for fall/spring. Try taking Parent.
He is knowledgeable, knows what he's talking about, funny. BUT he's so BORING & stays on the left corner of the classroom the whole class. He doesn't provide PowerPoints & it's ALL about lecture in his class. At some point you don't know what to write in your notes b/c he leads off. Tests are not all from the notes. I strongly dislike that class.
His tests have NOTHING to do with what he talks about in class. He gives a boost to your grade if you aren't absent the whole semester. He's NOT a good teacher. I passed his class with a freaking C >:[ How are students supposed to pass if he's not a GOOD teacher? His class is extremely BORING. Please do yourself a favor & choose another instructor!
Very Challenging class but if you work hard and do some reading you'll have no problem getting an "A".
Okay....sooo...this professor...needs to use powerpoints and make the tests have to do with the notes he lectures in class. I see students write down notes and thinking...okay? what are you writing? sometimes students be writing when hes not even talking!? I wanna ask them what the heck are they do? I just listen in class.period.
Well, What can I say about this teacher?He likes to make jokes a lot, he is a very nice guy who likes to talk in spanish sometimes, if you want to be excempt on the final you have to go to class every single day, he just talks during the whooole class, you don't need to have the book or anything you just need to be there and listen so yo can pass.
He talks A LOT about off topic subjects. I found myself leaving class after the break because I would rather read the material from my textbook versus hearing him ramble about random things. Somewhat hard to understand. Attendance not really required if you don't mind taking the final but he gives you chances to clear your absences.

Every class consists of lecture. No PowerPoint, no homework, no papers, just lectures and tests. He doesn't seem to have a clear outline, he just rambles. There are 3 exams and 1 comprehensive final. So if you mess up on two tests, you're screwed. But if you take good notes and read the books you should be good. perfect attendance = skip the final.
Professor Ramirez is a professional, he lectures. If you pay attention, show some respect and take notes you will do fine. He is bothered by tardiness, napping and texting.
Took Professor Ramirez in the winter mini and I am so glad that I did. He is a very nice guy but he does get annoyed with sleeping/texting in class. His tests were very hard but he curves them a lot!

Where to begin? There is SO MUCH horrible, angry, and rude things I could say about this professor. If you can get pass him being unorganized, rude to students/class and total lack for fairness - then you can pass this class. Attendance is mandatory for exemption from cumulative final. Book is mandatory to pass tests. Overall - do NOT take him.
I don't even know where to begin with him. He babbles on and on about worthless things. He's one of the teachers who's philosophy is I'm right and everyone else is wrong. And he wanted us to keep records of our attendance and test scores and we had to sign this contract so if we went to court about our grade he would win. Avoid him at all costs!!!!
The lectures are long and hard to follow. BUT this class is not as hard as people are making it sound. I never studied for the fist 2 tests and still managed to make a 70+ on both of them. What i would recommend is using the lecture time to read the chapters. Also write a short essay for every test! helps your grade a lot!
Professor Ramirez literally wrote the textbook that the department uses. His test are long and difficult because he doesn't shorten them if something isn't covered in lecture, instead he offers those Q's as bonus points. If you work or have kids I HIGHLY recommend taking this professor. He will understand your situation and will accommodate you!
