I can't understand him! Do your assignments even when he says they aren't due!
Gets mad when asked legit questions, rambles instead of explaining.
Try's hard, but is tough to understand. Chem 112's and easy class so it wasn't a big deal, just work out the the text and it will be easy
Under no circumstance take this section, you won't understand a word this guy says
Takes time to explain the concepts
He is very friendly and offers good explanation
He has a lot of patience for students. Explains very well
It's fun to watch him get mad at students. Even when it is a reasonable question, he will get really mad, and rant and yell. Something like Grounds Keeper Willy. Doesn't show up for his tutorials on time or at all sometimes. Repeats himself a lot/rambles
He is okay, Infact he is far better than any of my other Profs.
prof's accent = not a problem at all. He is understandable if ure listening. I like how he takes his time to explain things concisely. Theres only one prob: he only wants you to come talk to him if you've got a complex question. Maybe its his way of getting us to think critically.
The class started absolutely horrid. But then he got better, still not the best or even remotely great, but decent enough I guess. He was glad to be rid of us in the end, and we were relieved to have Chem 112 behind us.
His accent is kind of hard to understand, you REALLY have to listen to him. I hate his powerpoint lectures, he just reads them to you, you might as well just learn everything on your own. Recommend really goin over your material before class so you can understand what he is talking about!
A great teacher. Explains very well.
Tough to get used to at first, but you really enjoy the class near the end. A very good chemistry prof!
Great prof. Explains things very well; notes are concise, but it's still a good idea to come to class. Friendly. Expects you to have a fair understanding of high school chemistry and willing to help, but won't coddle stupid questions in class.
Very good Prof. Explains well
Fun prof after midterms- accent takes a bit to get used to, but can be a source of amusement. All notes posted on internet- v. useful, but take notes IN class too. Dry sense of humour, no tolerance for truly stupid questions- mocks ppl who ask really stupid questions (yes!). Helpful outside of lectures, too. Quite friendly.
best 112 prof the campus has to offer
Boring
Very good Prof., has a lot of patience for students and explains very well.
eyez dounut undastand what e iz saying. Nice man pretty good prof but 1 HUGE problem, i dont understand 2 of of every 5 words that come out of his mouth
I think this is an amazing teacher. I recoment anyone take this class.
Great prof, although he can be hard to understand at times. Knows what he's talking about, makes alot of dry jokes, but they're good. I would take another class from him.
I really like this prof. If you go to the U of S and take a chem 112 class look for him.
Very good Prof. I will recommend him to any student.
Great prof overall. Can sometimes be a bit confusing, but generally explains concepts very well.
Really good Professor. He made everything easy to understand. He was also willing to put in extra time to help those who needed extra explaination. He's also very entertaining to listen to, though sometimes dwells on certain ideas for too long. I would recommend his class to anyone interested in Chemistry.
Great Prof, getting over his accent only takes a couple lectures... and he's funny too
Great teacher, fun to listen to and helped me pass Chem!
good teacher, im seeing if he teaches my 2nd semester chem
Wow what an AMAZING prof! He is absolutely awesome. He is very clear with all of the concepts and is always smiling and makes me laugh! I can't say enough about this prof other than he is awesome and I definately reccommend him to everyone!
Amazing prof. He nails down points so it's impossible to forget concepts. Show up to the lectures and you'll find yourself learning chemistry, quickly, efficiently, and with a general level of enthusaiasm.
I chose this prof because of his good reviews on here which now, after having taken his class, completely baffle me!THICK ACCENT!True he did tell some jokes, and if you understood them I'm sure they were hilarious. But for the rest of us he whizzed through the notes which were 100% from the text book and did only the easiest examples GO TO IAN BURGESS!
Best prof i have had. He is hilarious and makes everything clear. He helps make chemistry interesting which is very good. Its not an easy course but Dr. Ahiahonu definitely prepares you for the tests. By far my favourite class
Likes to make jokes, funny guy generally. He knows his stuff and does a good job of getting it across clearly. However he does have a moderate accent which is difficult to understand at times. Overall, great proffesor, if you put in the time you will get a good grade in his class.
he is a hard working lectura with full of zeal and pntual to his duties.
This is the only professor who needs to take this course again just for updating his information.
He makes quite a few mistakes while lecturing but he's okay overall.
Best Organic Chemistry Prof around
great prof. try to attend all of his lectures. it will help you to learn the material a lot faster. knows his stuff but he dose make small mistakes from time to time.
Took summer session- he provided notes, answered questions, not hard to understand and tries to make jokes. He's quick to reply to emails. Great prof, would recommend him to anyone who needs a good chem grade.
Very good Prof. Explains concepts clearly and always ready to answer students questions. I will recommend him to anyone who needs an excellent grade in Organic Chemistry
The best teacher I have ever had
great prof! definitely take organic chem from him!
Notta fan he was really hard to hear then everytime he raised his voice in class i seriously jumped cuz he was yelling he was really boring and spent time on very small things rather than the big concept!
Really excellent prof. It's a tough class but he is clear, helpful and when he tells you to practice: do it! Listen to him, he knows what he's talking about.
I'm not sure about the other reviews, but I thought this prof was rather hard. Sure he is very knowledgeable but he took his time explaining the simpler concepts but flew through the harder topics (reaction mechanisms). So really practice questions in the textbook! Also, keep up with the material, it all builds on each other.
He's knowledgeable and friendly, but he seemed to needlessly rush through his lectures. It's a pretty challenging class to take during the summer (with labs and all), but definitely not impossible to do well in. (Also, the textbook's Solutions Manual has a ridiculous amount of mistakes in it. How does that even happen?)
He dragged the review portion on and took so much time explaining things we already knew but rushed the actual course material. I found him very hard to understand and he was not overly helpful.
Awful, he was unclear, made lots of mistakes and confused the hell out of me. Do not take Chem 115 from him. Sounds like he is good at organic but not 115. Not at all
Pearson is a good lecturer and is also helpful outside of class as well. He provides lots of practice questions and discusses practical applications of chemical concepts. My only problems with his teaching is that he spends too much time on easy concepts and not enough time on hard ones.I recommend taking CHEM 115 with him in the summer
He isn't helpful inside and outside of the class. Needs to go over hard concepts slowly rushes through the material.
This professor went over hard materials so fast. He wasn't clear in explaining.... He was not helpful at all inside or outside the class... I strongly advice you not to take chemistry 115 with him...
Pearson was not very clear in his lectures and spent an unnecessary amount of time on easy concepts and breezed through hard ones. I didn't feel like he prepared our class well enough for the final, as there were many questions we had never seen before. Would not recommend taking Chem115 from him if you have the choice.
An amazing professor. Gave great notes, was on schedule with lab, and extremely helpful. When he says study, you study. I went into the final with a low 90 and left with a high 70%. Very fair test considering the material difficulty. If I was to go back, I would have studied harder. My drop in grade had nothing to do with his teaching abilities.
He is hard to understand and even then he doesn't explain concepts very well. He does not provide notes or powerpoint in case you aren't able to attend a lecture. He takes forever to email back when you ask for help. Exams are insanely hard and nothing like the sample ones he gives.
Great teacher, thought he was very clear in his lectures. It's a hard class to begin with, and his easy to understand lectures definitely helped!
Pearson is honestly a good prof. I was skeptical going into his class but he's funny and explains everything well. The class itself is challenging but he posts a lot of extra questions (VERY good to review these-- especially before exams since some questions are based on these ones he posts!!) Midterm was decent but the final was really hard.
Passionate about chemistry. This shows in his lectures. His accent can be hard to understand, but you get used to it after a couple weeks. Lectures exactly follow the text and only supplement the material with examples/opportunity for questions. If you naturally 'get' chemistry it is possible to pass without attending lectures.
He is an excellent prof, explains concepts very well and assigns a lot of practice questions. These questions ultimately helped on midterms and finals. I will recommend taking any chemistry class with Prof Ahiahonu.
Pearson is a very good teacher. I enjoyed his teaching style and he is very approachable. The course is extremely hard but Dr. Ahiahonu made it very reasonable. If he says you must study, you better do. I found the questions he assigns helpful.
i didnt find his lectures very helpful so i didnt go and when i asked for a lab quiz redo(which i regularly go to and do pretty good on it) he pulled off "i dont attend lectures" card. totally irrelavant and unrelated
I don't know of what the previous posting is all about, but Professor Ahiahonu was very clear in explaining concepts, made the classes lively, assigned lots of practice questions and provided meaningful feedback. Indeed the pop quizzes kept me engaged throughout the course. I will recommend this Prof to any one in a heart bit.
This is my 2nd time taking this course as I dropped it earlier. Dr. Ahiahonu is a wonderful professor and I highly recommend taking Chem250 from him. He is always open to answer questions and is truly passionate about this subject. The subject is hard, but it's doable if you actually work for it.
I put that attendance isn't mandatory because I learnt nothing from lectures. I completely taught myself out of the textbook but this class is so hard to begin with, you really need a good prof. I'd recommend someone else if you can.
Pearson organized chem 250 in a really great manner. The textbook is good, but it jumps around and reactions appear everywhere. Pearson organizes his lectures so that the reactions are organized differently and easier to understand. Super helpful outside of class if you ask for help. Go to class, he sometimes gives attendance as bonus marks.
He explained things clearly and emphasized important details. He also gave a fair amount of additional practice questions which helped for the midterm and for the final.
He make class very hard doesn't give good explanation
Prof. Ahiahonu is an excellent teacher, he does a good job explaining concepts and promotes problem solving strategies.
Thick accent. Expects you to know the answers to questions you ask him. when you ask him to elaborate further he does a terrible job. knows his stuff, but cant express it very well.
Pearson was a wonderful lecturer who made an 8:30 class actually something I enjoyed going to. When reviewing and preparing for exams, he was super helpful and had classes with lots of participation. Overall, very good professor.
Accent was hard to understand the first day or two but was quickly very easy to understand. Very enthusiastic and compassionate about chemistry and helping each student. Slides go along nicely with textbook.
He explains everything really well, goes over all the text questions and posts their answers with explanations. Best Chem112 prof.
Beast professor, goes through everything in textbook well and has his own extra stuff. Made remembering all of the VSEPR shapes too easy. He's amazing.
He is clearly very enthusiastic about the subject . He know what he's talking about and explains well. We used workbooks in this class so we'd copy examples directly into our textbooks. He is loud enough that you can hear him at the back of class, although he does have a thick accent, but once you figure it out he's a real gem of a person and prof.
Pearson was a great professor. Attendance is mandatory because he includes in some lectures important information that you will not find in the textbook that ARE expected to be known in the final. He has excellent practice questions that are almost if not the exact same as many of the questions you will find on your midterm and final. Recommended.
Pearson was good at teaching chemistry. His accent is not an issue whatsoever. He gives tons of practice questions which was super helpful, but the pop quizzes were very tough for me. Make sure you are in class on time, as he gives the pop quizzes a few minutes before class begins.
Be ready to love Chemistry, or else you'll have a rough time. Strong, thick accent to start, and doesn't do a very good job at explaining the solutions to the problems in class. He doesn't post notes either so either follow along with a textbook or start typing. Very accepting/enthusiastic if you love Chem, but not very forgiving if you don't.
Cannot understand this guy and tends to yell instead of use the mic
Loved learning from him. First chem class since Chem 30 8 years ago. I found his accent only took a class or less to get used to. He has a clear passion for chem and explains things well. If you show up and pay attention, you will do well. He's also incredibly friendly and approachable. A joy to learn from.
His accent definitely requires more attention paid to what he is saying, and he moves very fast, however he is very passionate about chemistry and he emphasizes the importance of doing extra questions and seeking help if you don't understand something
Hes an average chem prof, although he does not post the slides online, so if you ever miss or don't catch what he is saying/showing you're gonna have trouble if its an important concept. His accent isn't an issue its the fact that he talks really fast and only yells no mic
Professor Pearson was amazing. He was accessible outside of class time and I found him very helpful if I ever had questions or needed clarification. Pay attention to the practice questions he gives at the end of chapters in CHEM 115 as they are very similar to questions on exams. I would definitely take CHEM 115 or CHEM 250 with him again.
Pearson is a good guy and prof. He loves chemistry and cares for his students to learn and apply the knowlege in the class. He expects you to do lots of practice problems so work for your grade and you will do well.
He is a good teacher but his tests are insane. 60% of my class was still there at the end. It is all higher level questions. You have to know exactly how to do them all right away. There is no time to review and check your answers. You are in a rush and have to logic out most multiple choice because if you calculate everything you won't finish.
I'm pretty sure, he is the most hard to understanding professor I ever had chemistry class in university. Strong, thick accent to start, and doesn't do a very good job at explaining the solutions to the problems in class. If you listening the class far from professor, you won't understand. Also he doesn't post notes :(
Chem 250 is the hardest class you'll ever take but Pearson does a great job of explaining concepts. He can be somewhat intimidating but he forces you to take the class seriously and inspires you to work hard. His tests are fair, and as long as you study extremely hard you can get a good grade
hard to understand! not good for chem! awful!
Dr. Ahiahonu definitely is difficult to understand for the first few weeks but it gets easier as you go. He's very passionate about chemistry, and this means lots of homework and practice questions are necessary to do well. He's not the best at explaining his answers so you'll be studying lots after his classes. Lots of work, but rewarding.
Best chemistry professor I have ever had
He is a very good professor, explains concepts very well. I recommend you to take his class
This professor is a very funny guy, likes to try and make chemistry interesting. He really knows his stuff. however, he talks incredibly fast and if you can't really understand his thick accent you will struggle to know what he's saying By the end of the term he rushed through three chapters way too fast and I ended up having to teach myself a lot.
Had him for Chem 112 first semester, this class in honestly very easy if you go to class and pay attention during all his lectures. He gives pretty clear instructions, a bi t vague on some topics but good prof for the most part.
Was very challenging to understand the prof from language barriers, was either yelling or mumbling while lecturing, never responded to emails throughout the entire semester and had difficulty answering questions after class. Time is better spent reading the provided notes and studying the material on your own. New textbook required.
Prof. Pearson Ahiahonu in a very good teacher, cares about the success of his students. I will recommend him to everybody.
Took his CHEM 112 course as a first year student and was very happy with the outcome. Pearson would show up every class very happy to teach. Although he was difficult to understand at times, he made sure that students understood the material. He would often go over examples in class for students to better understand concepts. Overall, great prof.
Pearson is a great prof, not as hard to understand as everyone says. He is enthusiastic about what he teaches and is very educated in his field. I don't have any bad comments about him, he's very approachable and cares about students. Chem112 however is an awful course that you really have to bust your butt to do even okay in, even with a good prof
Pearson isnt that hard to understand and he is very passionate. His notes are very well organized especially for the online assignments and labs. I didnt find Chem 112 and easy course, but if you do practice problems, it is manageable.
He is the worst professor I have ever had! Hard to understand , too much yelling , spend too much time explaining the first 4 chapters and rash on the last ones!
It was very hard and the way the lecture was structured, in my opinion, made it hard for me to follow. I did not find his explanations for students' questions sufficient
Pearson is okay but if you've never taken any type of grade 11 or 12 chem, there's a very good chance you'll struggle a lot. you won't be able to follow the course if you haven't taken any type of chemistry before.
Found him enjoyable at the beginning of the course until you don't understand something and ask him a question. He is very rude when it comes to answering questions and has no problem ridiculing students in the lecture and during his office hours. Very unprofessional considering its literally his job to clarify the subject.
Pearson is a very good Professor, explains concepts very well. I will take more chemistry courses with him
Pearson is the best science professor I have ever hard. Thank you!
You need to attend lectures to pass because Professor Ahiahonu explains difficult concepts very well, and solves a lot of questions in class.
He was very engaging in his lectures and always put emphasis on what topics were important.
Pearson is an amazing chemistry professor. He makes it very clear what will be tested on, gives good examples in class, and tries to make his lectures interesting. He can be slightly intimidating to approach at first, but he is a kind person who will do his best to help you when possible.
Attend the lectures, do the examples that he gives in class (the long answer questions are of the same difficulty as his longer examples), keep up with the SMARTWORK assignments, and do the sample tests he posts. Pearson sets you up for success. Doing the end of chapter questions is not necessary unless you have trouble with the in-class examples.
He was alright in his lectures but once COVID came around and stuck us all at home he was way harder on his students. The final took most people around 5 hrs to finish as it was all material that was out of our range. Material we learnt but way harder than previous practice questions. DO THE TEXTBOOK PRACTICE.
Prof. Pearson Ahiahonu is an excellent teacher, his remote online approach is amazing and he explains concepts very well. I am looking forward to taking more Chemistry courses with him
Absolutely brutal. Second midterm average was 37% for the ENTIRE CLASS and he had the audacity to tell students to "study harder" for the Final Exam. If class average is that low, maybe look in the mirror for a second and ask why? Doesn't answer emails, explains concepts poorly and shows no effort in wanting to see students improve.
Prof Ahiahonu is very thorough with his work and good at explaining. He's a great prof, but he does have quite a thick accent which makes some of the content hard to understand especially in online learning.
Pearson does not know how to teach chem 115, and ignores students' feedback and requests for support. I would avoid taking a class with this professor at all costs. Biggest waste of money and time. Professors like him make me want to switch schools completely.
Has no idea what he is doing and doesn't answer questions. Skips important parts of problems and is by far the worst prof I have had. Created a midterm that was to be completed in 90 minutes but gave us 3 hours and even then lots of people didn't finish in time.
Prof. Ahiahonu is an excellent teacher, explains concepts well and is very organized. However, he is a tough grader and expects a lot from his students. Be ready to study.
I would never take a class with him again. He gives TONS of formulas, gives the most simple example questions, then puts super hard questions on exams. I am usually an A student but had a very hard time in his class due to him only touching on easy concepts. The textbook is the only reason I passed this class. I would not recommend it.
he is not helpful at all even during COVID when getting help is difficult and it is especially difficult to reach out because of online learning. Really don't appreciate that
Prof. Pearson has a very commanding voice that many students will find intimating and therefore may not ask questions. Due to the way he explains questions or the way he got his answers you may have to ask him more then once about a question, or see if a fellow student can help you.
He was mediocre. His voice is intimidating and he can be a bit rude to students so no one dares to ask questions. His accent is hard to understand, the lectures are long but he gives out really good notes to use. None of us would be passing if he were the only one teaching; fortunately the modules are taught by different profs. Wouldnt recommend
I don't know what with all these bad reviews about him. I had Pearson as my prof for Chem 115 and he is the best professor out of all of my classes so far. He responds to emails very fast and he does have a slight accent but it's not enough to hinder your learning. He even supplies his own supplementary notes & is more than willing to redo concepts
Proffeser Ahiahonu is a great prof. He seems like he actually cares about you wanting to succed in the class. If you took chem 30 in High school, this class should be fairly easier espically if you have him.
Great professor not sure whats up with the reviews, he gets right to the point and is a good teacher
He is a very good professor and I really enjoyed his class. He made difficult topics easier to understand.
Really good at explaining, however, does not provide enough feedbacks. The exams are tough but if you are on top of everything along with extra practise then you should be okay. The lecture videos are very important and reading the textbook is required to have a good understanding.
Was alright. Kind of a tough love scenario. Will remind you how it felt to do math with your dad at the kitchen table.
I am in no way good at chem or math, so this course was very difficult for me but I found that out of the 3 profs that were teaching this course Professor Ahiahonu provided the most practice material, worked through a lot of problems in lecture videos and workshops were very helpful.
Very good at explaining questions and how to solve them. Teaches with consistency and focused on making sure everyone understands before moving on
He is very intimidating which makes it hard to want to ask questions. It also takes a while before he responds to an email regarding an assignment or just a question in general. He is very set in his ways it seems and likes things to be learned and taught the way he is teaching it and he understands it. The course load was very heavy.
Professor Ahiahonu cares a lot about the success of his students, explains concepts clearly and demands a lot from his students
Can seem a bit intimidating over Zoom (less so in person), but is generally pretty good at explaining concepts.
His class was much better in person than it was online. If you don't do the required readings and videos before the class you will have trouble in this class. I required a tutor for this class, but that combined with his teaching made it more bearable. Found his explanations a bit confusing but he was approachable and willing to explain.
hard accent to understand, gives way harder questions on exams than on assignments and material learned in class provides great videos of practice problems from notes taken in class
Pearson was a horrible professor. He did not go into depth on topics that mattered, and his example questions were way easier than exam questions. He did not come to a class so we had to teach ourselves a chapter, then on our final the long answer questions were from that chapter. Nobody asks questions and if they do, he doesn't answer. He's awful.
He was a great prof, his lectures were easy to understand, and the concepts were pretty nicely explained. Obviously, there was a lot of work you need to put in outside of class, like smartwork assignments and textbook questions, so make sure you're on top of that! He's pretty good with replying with email as long as you give him enough time.
Dr. Ahiahonu teaches using lists of exercises, which means you will barely touch the textbook. During most of his classes, I felt as if he was having so much fun going through the exercises that he forgot he was supposed to teach. It is pretty much up to you to study and go through the course, do not expect much help from him.
Pearson is a prof who really understands chem! Works through example questions in class, but you should do harder/more examples on your own to prepare for exams. Midterm & Final were quite difficult. He may seem intimidating, but his emails are very nice. His notes are like a condensed textbook, so you don't have to read the textbook.
Pretty decent prof. His note packages that he gives are very good and he does lots of practice questions which is really helpful. Lectures are a bit boring but he posts videos of him solving the exampels to canvas so that's really helpful. I would recomend
His lectures, slides, note packages, and assigned questions are very well organized and easy to follow. While his teaching style might resemble learning math with your dad at the kitchen table in elementary he explains things very well and cares a lot. His summarized notes for each unit are very helpful most profs don't do that.
Materials and concepts were mostly self-taught, with little help from the professor.
Good prof. Explains the concept from the basics. Would definitely take his class again.
Tests were almost impossible to do well on. Took him for chem 112 and chem 115 and out of both these classes a midterm or final average was not above 50% ( 2 midterms and 1 final per class). The assignments were pretty easy and the labs really helped with understanding concepts.
I took Pearson's class in the spring of 2024. It was extremely difficult to follow and it is also extremely difficult to ask him questions. He is hard to approach and hard to understand. I practically had to learn the course based on my high school materials. The questions on his tests are confusing, I could never understand what he was asking for.
He definitely knows his stuff and really cares about the students, he pointed out some great tips for getting material down and posts videos of how to work through problems. No lectures are posted. He is great with emails and answering questions.
He's pretty passionate about chemistry and enjoys teaching it. He has multiple office hours a week to ask questions. Wasn't a big fan of the online midterms, there were multiple hard questions on content we hardly touched on in class. He posts all his solutions to his in class problems, which is quite helpful when studying.
Passionate, funny, and overall a good professor.
Super passionate about the content he teaches. However, both of our midterms were online but in person with 85% of it being typed responses (needed exact correct sig figs), about 15% multiple choice. The final was very long (on paper MC and long answer) and covered the course in depth! He struggles to get back to emails, best to see him in person.
He goes through the lectures really fast and expects you to teach yourself most of the concepts. He does go through some examples on the chalk board, but he speeds through it with barley explanation. He did spend a lot of time of certain chapters, which left us to rush through the last couple chapters.
He talks very quietly and has no microphone. His examples on the notes are already done and does not go through them very well. He speeds through the notes and you will have to learn on your own. If you can take this class with someone else I advise it.
If you're not religious, then pick a religion and pray. Pearson's lectures are hard to follow and his “notes” aren't even notes. They're just words from the textbook put into a word document. Doesn't do examples, is quite rude and doesn't use a mic. I stopped showing up to his class and just watched Dr. Gravel's lectures on zoom, as his is better.
I found Pearson to be a pretty good professor. I'd recommend annotating the notes or printing them out, as there's a lot to cover and you will get lost if you try to keep up with writing them. He posts all his examples on panopto videos in canvas, which are extremely helpful. He can come off as strict, but he just doesn't sugarcoat things.
He's accessible for office hours and replies to emails pretty fast. His slides can be confusing because there's to much information on them. Often he'll just go through examples without really explaining them. If your not confident with chem going into 250, I'd take it will someone else
Dr. Pearson is good professor and is passionate about what he teaches. he offers office hours and you are free to ask questions in lecture or after class. I recommend sitting in the front of the room as he doesnt use a microphone. Make sure to do the practice problems and review questions on his notes. A bit comfusing at times though.
If you have an option to take this course with another professor, I would. He was rude in announcements related to grades, and very rude to students when they would ask questions. He doesn't use a mic so sit as close as you possibly can. His notes were confusing at times. Did not have a mandatory attend, but rude if someone left early.
Chem 112 is a notoriously difficult class for lots of people, and it seems pearson tries his best to prepare the students, but the pacing of his lecture material was messy and it seemed people almost feared asking questions because his answers felt defensive. the midterm average was a failing grade due to the incomprehensiblity of most questions.
Although a hard class, the lectures were thorough and Dr. Ahiahonu was available for questions before and after class. The notes that he reads off of aren't very detailed, so if you miss lectures you might miss some information. The midterm and final were challenging but not unreasonably so, and were completely multiple choice.
Bad english, good class, heavy weighted exams. thats all
Solid prof. Explains concepts pretty well but it's all pretty technical content so if You don't put some work in yourself no professor will really help you all too much. Not the most responsive in emails so I mostly just emailed the other 250 profs but his lectures are hilarious, so long as you don't ask somewhat off topic questions.
Used lots of examples and explained all of the mechanisms which helped to understand the material. Would overexplain concepts and it both helped and hindered. Lectures are easy enough to follow along. Doesn't use a mic so he can be a bit hard to hear. He's not bad in combination with the other profs lecture videos.
