Funniest professor I've had. Really knows how to connect with the students. Lectures are recommended, everything mentioned is important. You need to work for your grade, but he's really good at teaching and you feel very encouraged all throughout the course. No text book, no PowerPoints, the guy teaches traditionally with lots of interaction.

He is my favorite professor at MDC. If you are taking any chemistry take him! 3 tests and a final, drops lowest and gives extra credit if you go to PLTL. He tells you what you can expect on the test. Not an easy class but he makes it easier by the way he explains it. Hated chemistry before, like it now because of him. Thank you Prof. Garcia!

Garcia is an excellent professor. I never thought I could take a chem class an actually enjoy it. This man is gifted. He is the King of all professors. Everything he teaches in class you will regurgitate in the exams. There are no suprises. Pay attention, study your notes, and you will pass his class. I took O-Chem and was still able to remember what he taught. 4 exams and drops your lowest one. No homework so you have plenty of time to study.

He is very good at explaining Chemistry but I honestly thought the class was very hard. He tries to teach you well and doesnt bombard you. Tests are ok. You HAVE to study a lot or else you will fail. Professor Garcia is just the best. Chemistry isn't easy but he makes it so clear and understandable. He doesn't necessarily follow a book which I hated in the beginning but he really knows what he's talking out and explains in the best way that you won't need to look at a book, just your notes. 3 tests and a final. PLTL for extra credit.

He is an amazing organic professor. Very funny and helpful, although you have to work hard and study. He brightens the class mood by throwing in a joke every now and then. He tests you on what he teaches you only. His youtube videos will help you too.

For those majoring or have a great foundation in Chem I recommend taking Prof Garcia. For those who do not have a great foundation in Chem I do not, because it will be difficult for you to understand. STUDY STUDY STUDY is key as well as taking great notes. This class was once a week and at night, so be well aware of the pros and cons.

His testes are the toughest at North, no curve on test, (bad profs curve extreme because 60-80% fail) But Garcia cares, always there @office hours, INSISTS all go to free tutoring, his lectures are on youtube, tenure profs hate him cause students love him and excel. Amazing and funny. You must show up to ALL his classes and ON TIME. I heard his lecture classes are a bit tougher than his Labs. He does not really assign "HW", but when you do the labs, he will tell you whether or not her wants a report. Be familiar with Excel, you will be using it quite a bit.

You cant miss this class, if you do you will lose a lot of lecture information that WILL be in your test. Make sure you get good grades in your test, because thats ALL your grade is made up off. If you want to get by chemistry you can take him. His class for me was not challenging but he is fun to take, no homework unless one day he decides on it but that is rare. Just take good notes and you will pass his class.

3 regular exam and drops 1, cummalitive mandotory final, rarely any hw, I didn't really use the book that much, but only when I needed to practice a concept. Exams are fair, but you need to study for it because it is chemistry. TAKE GOOD NOTES. I am taking him again in the Summer for 1046. I love his class, and I am not exactly a chem enthusiast.

Show up every class and take good notes (he says everything he writes on the board will be on the test and its true), do his reviews, make sure you understand them and you will get an A for sure. The only thing I will say is, CHECK YOUR TEST WHEN HE GIVES IT BACK, he's a little bit of a mess and sometimes grades his tests wrong but overall amazing.

3 tests and a final. He will drop the lowest grade but you'll have to study hard because his test are not easy if you don't pay attetion in class. He is a really nice professor, and the best professor at MDC. Don't you think that he is an easy A because he is not so make sure to study.

What I love about Pedro is that his tests are based on what comes out of his mouth. If he doesnt talk about it in class, then it will not be on the exams. Take amazing notes because it will be almost identical problems on exams just different numbers. Pay attention, take good notes, and study hard. Very easy class to pass is you do those things.

This was my third time taking 1046 and let me tell you this guy changed my life. I actually learned this semester! And he bends over backwards to help you if you ask. If chem is not your thing he will make it a breeze. A TRUE PROFESSOR!

Teaches you for what you need to know and the exams are what he explains on the notes. Very caring and is willing to help you outside of class in order to improve how you study.

This professor is an angel in disguise. He pushes students to do their best. I took him for both the lab and the lecture. If you were having any doubts about your understanding of chemistry, Prof. Garcia will help you UNDERSTAND and REMEMBER the material. His exams are exactly what he teaches, no trick questions, etc. Gives lot of extra credit.

If someone tells you Garcia is easy, they're lying to you. He is FAIR. I worked very hard for my B. However, the guy explains things incredibly well and takes the time to help you understand. Other professors don't care and wish they could explain things as well as Garcia. If you think Orgo 1 is easy you have another thing coming for you.

No midterm, 1 proctored final exam-allowed to use 1 cheat-sheet (back & front). No pretense labs ex. Labster. Uses zoom, writes notes while he explains. Take him!

Garcia is the most caring professor ever. There's no hw just study his notes from day 1 and get ready for a sweet A. 3 exams, drop the lowest grade, a final, and give extra credit that helps tremendously. He is always available outside of school with any questions you have about the class. Don't hesitate to take him.

Professor Garcia is one of the few very good professors left for Chemistry he will teach you everything you need to know for your in-class exams and for the DAT for organic 1 and 2. His classes are not mandatory but are 100% recommended to attend and take notes if you want to learn his test are very similar to the notes.

No hw, no projects, just exam grades. He has a tutor and test reviews. PG will teach you all you need to know for Orgo 1. He does not complicate things, he tries to teach in a way that is easily understandable. He is also hilarious in class. He makes a lot of jokes that make orgo fun. If you want to learn and also have a great time, take him!

Professor Garcia is the best professor I've *ever* had. I graduated from FIU and atteneed MDC for my premed postbacc. He teaches orgo phenomenally well and it paid off when I began MCAT prep. PG is literally the best chemistry professor at MDC North. All his exams are based on his lectures. He really cares about his students. If extra help is ever needed, just go to office hours and he will help. His lectures literally makes you want to go to class.

I took Mr. Garcia for both CHM 1046 lab & lecture...I got a C on the in lecture and B in the lab. His class is super hard but you will learn, he knows 1046 is hard so he makes us laugh while lecturing & he does everything to try and help us pass... He is one of the best professors i have had thus far...he is amazing

easily the best professor at MDC that i've taken. Had him for 2211, 1046, 2210, and 1046L. You will have to study to pass but everything on the test is said in the lecture and he makes note of what will or won't be on the test. Generous but won't assist you if he sees you're not trying. Record all his lectures to play back when you are studying. Everything he writes on the board will be on the Final Exam, write good notes. Take advantage of his office hours. I took his orgo 2 lab, it was easy. I wish I had taken him for lecture. I took a professor who didnt teach anything unfortunately so I had to play catch up for the lab final. During the last two labs, PG would help me out by looking over my mechanisms and correcting them as I studied to pass his final. I passed the final and learned a lot from him.

Best ORGO professor you can take at MDC. Teaches great and all lectures were uploaded online. 3 Tests (dropped the lowest) and 1 Final w/ multiple EC opportunities. His exams were NOT hard if you attended PLTL and practiced the material. Only cons were his exam formats (grammatical errors) and rude LAs who would answer immediately for students.

Pedro Garcia is by far my favorite professor I've had so far. I genuinely owe him so much. He is caring, responsive, always willing to help any way. Prof Garcia is a great chemistry lab instructor. He explains the material really well, and I actually felt like I fully grasped the concepts. You must attend lab if you want to pass the class everything you need to know for the exam will be on the board. There's no midterm, only a final taken in class. Overall, just take the class.
