I was excited about taking this class. My excitement diminshed a little because i took him at night. You might have a hard time because of his heavy accent (portugesse) and if you dont read over the chapters for the test. Trust me you have to read and listen to his lectures in order to pass with a good grade. But you'll learn alot.

This is a very intelligent and wonderful person, he's a doctor so obviously he knows what he's talking about.This class made us think and opened our eyes,we loved the class and we love Dr.Oliviera,he is very helpful too,the tests arent very easy, but thats good because it makes you think.If youre lazy or dont love knowledge dont take this class. :)

I enjoyed this class, he is pretty funny and has a great personality. The subject itself (philosophy) is boring, but I think he did his best to make it interesting. His accent is not that strong, I thought he was fairly easy to understand. Pedro told me about all the highlights of Brazil and soon I will be going!

I also took him for logic. A really good teacher. You'll learn a lot. If you pay attention,go to class, and study,he'll give you every opportunity to get an A. Very fair. Very intelligent. If you're looking to slide by with no effort, (you shouldn't be attempting college anyway..) then the whole philosophy subject isn't for you anyway.

great teacher. i was mad when i found out i had to take this class, but he made it fun. he will give u a copy of the notes, help u study, and makes the class fun. the first test was hard, but the rest were easy. he tells u what to study. has a accent so pay attention. if u have to take this class take him!

Prof. Oliveira is a very nice teacher. However his tests are very hard. A lot of situation questions that is hard to understand and apply the theories. Prof will help the class if he sees that more then 70% of the class is falling each was my classes case. Nobody got an A is his test out of 40 students and only 5 B's so that tells at all.

We had 3 tests, and all his powerpoint notes were online which helped! He also put practice quizzes for each chapter online, and the tests were over 50% made up of those quiz questions. His first 2 tests were easy, but his final exam was confusing and hard. It brought a lot of people's averages down. He's nice and fair but gets u in the end. UGH!

Prof made this class interesting and easy. He said himself that he has become more laidback. Most of his test questions are questions are online on the practice quizzes. You can't go wrong with Pedro

I was mad I got a B but these ratings are way too harsh. Philosophy is somewhat challenging but it isnt hard, lectures are interesting and he keeps your attention. He gives copies of the P.Point and tells you what to study, applying different theories to different ?'s can be difficult, but honestly I always studied an hour before and got an easy B!

I took this class in the summer and I got an A in the class. He is kool and all the test questions come from the PP and online prac. exam. I bought the book 4 nothing cuz I never even opened it. I studied 1-2 hrs before the exam and got an A out of the class. Take his class in the summer if want a easy ride;he says he doesnt give PP during reg sem.

I THINK U SHOULD TAKE HIS CLASS!!! He give you more than enough opportunities to pass and the only way you'll fail is if you do not do his work! POINT! BLANK! SIMPLE! The essays are easy because he show you where to find the material and the test aint that bad because he take the time out to review it! Get a study partner dont slack off and study!

I took him for an honors correspondence course, and I LOVED him! our class only met a few times, but he was very helpful, easygoing, and the tests were fair and came right from the book, his powerpoints, and practice quizzes! WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!

Excellent Teacher! Really knows the material and tries to make sure that the students gain a full understanding of it and not just book knowledge. Has no grades to date except for tests which he reviews for. He does have an accent but it isn't bad and he tries hard for clarity. If you life in South Florida you've definately heard much worse.

Pedro is awesome. The material gets a little boring at times but if your into philosophy and it's related subjects, take him, he helps make sense of the material. He gives you his powerpoints and the 4 testes are no longer than 35 questions. All material on tests come from the notes. Fun guy, reall nice!

Pedro is an awesome professor! I took the summer online integrated class. His tests are challenging, but the reviews are very helpful. You have to work for the A b/c it is definitely not handed to you. He is very interesting and grades fairly. Philosophy might seem overwhelming at first, but give him a shot. You wont regret it!

I took him online and it went really well, he is very active in discussions and answers your questions promptly. Make sure you keep up with assignments and turn them in before the deadline, If you dont...no extensions..It would be unethical to give you an extension and not the rest of the class..I recommend him!!

Great professor and an easy class, but doesn't always go right to the point and at times seems to enjoy hearing himself speak. Taking tests are easy, but he denies that there are any trick questions when there are, and sometimes you just want to yell "shut up and hand out the flippin' test already".

He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His lectures are great, he's funny,and is very generous. He makes it so you don't even have to think when doing logic. His tests are a little tricky though. All in all, great teacher.

Pedro is a very good teacher. He makes a boring class like logic pretty interesting. He also makes sure everyone understands the concepts of logic. If you study and review for his tests, there's no reason you shouldn't get an "A".

Tough class but this guy is great! Bends over backwards to help you get an A but you have to work for it. Tests can be tricky. Gives you the notes on PowerPoint Slides and optional extra credit quizzes. If you work hard you?ll get an A.

He's knows his stuff, and it's great when he understands how students are thinking, because logic can be confusing. Funny at times, especially when he gets a little neurotic. But it gets boring when he starts talking too much.

This professor is really great. He makes time to see his students & offers wonderful examples. Sometimes we would watch a video clip at the begining of class. He's super nice & you have to write 1 essay [2 pgs]. You have to read the book though [don't worry, it's a good book]. & 95% of his test questions come from the study guide.

One of the best professors by far,he is very fair and lays the examples out in front of you. hard to fail. There is a 2 page essay that is required but its not that bad.

This is such an amazing class. Pedro gives tons of examples and tells you what's going to be on the quizzes and tests. He wants everyone to pass, and most will (only two people in my class have a D or F). He loves his subject causing you to become more enthusiastic about it, too. Definitely take him. He's amazing.

This teacher is wonderful.He knows what he is doing, he makes things look easier and he does what it takes to make all of us understand the material. I have taken him now for two classes, philosophy and logic and if I had the chance I would take it again. TAKE HIM!!!

Professor Oliveira is an amazing professor! His class was very enjoyable, easy to understand, and interesting. I would suggest reading the text, however, it isn't necessary. His lectures cover all of the material you need to know for exams, and he also gives reviews before his exams. Great class! Lots of fun! :)

this is a professor who makes the class extremely interesting and gets the whole class to participate. keep in mind cell phones annoy him. tests are based on his slide presentation and to get A's, read slide topics and them some in your book. it can be a very easy A

Professor O is a wonderful, friendly, and helpful teacher.He is one of the professors who actually care about his students and wants ALL his students to do well. The class is not easy but if you apply yourself you will do well. Take his class, you will have fun.

I just took this professor for this fall; His grading scale was hard. He made us studied the all book. Trust me if you don't do the online stuff and you do not study you will end up with c or d. Never think his class is easy.

Yeah he's very helpful but his tests are very hard. He'll do whatever he can to help you in the beginning but wont help you out if your barely hanging on. I had a 69.1 and I asked if he could curve it and he didn't. He teaches Ethics about morality but is completely heartless. He has no remorse I recommend not taking him!

I took intro. to logic (honors, which is harder than regular) with this professor, and although I worried this class will not be an easy class, it was actually an easy A. Attendance is mandatory and is 10% of the grade, but H.W. is never checked. He gave few bonuses on the tests we had which made the class very very easy (for serious students).

This was my 2nd time taking Logic and I got a B in the class. This class can get pretty tricky at times. You defiantly have to study for the test and do the practice exercises he assigns. The only way you will get an A or a B is if you study for the test.

This guy is the best. Period. He is really smart. Like, if you think you're smart, or your banker father and psychologist mother is smart, no, they are not even close to this mans level. Trust me. Dude, this guy is awesome! He's super funny and patient and get this: HE LISTENS! Most teachers cut you off and act like know-it-alls but not him. Just show up and class is alllllll about participation. Of course there are a few exams, and discussions but it's super easy. I recommend! (*Applause*)

Professor Oliviera was great! HW's are very helpful for the 2 mini quizzes, midterm exam, & final. He is very clear & has an incredible sense of humor! I would highly recommend him. Pedro is a good professor and seems to be passionate about what he teaches. I took Honors Logic and I felt a bit stressed. I think it required a bit more thinking than I had mentally prepared myself for. I thought I was going to get a C but luckily I got an A. Many days I went home and reviewed the chapter on my own. Don't ever miss a lecture.

Dr. Oliveira is an exceptional professor. You need to have good study habits to do well in this class. If you don't practice on your own, you will fail. This class is mind bending and really taught me new perspectives and new ways of thinking. Tests are open book but still tough. It was hard but also really fun. There is extra credit.

This is one of my favorite teacher at BC. He is funny and knowledgeable. I looked forward to his class but i took it in session two so it was very short. The quizzes and midterm was really easy. The final was a bit more tricky because it was in class, but it wasn't difficult to pass. It's an easy A. Take him, you won't regret it.

Took this class as a pre-req. Very good teacher. You get credit for showing up to class. Really listen to his lectures, it makes the quizzes easier. He has many quizzes, about 4 essays (which are very easy), and a midterm & final. He provides videos on D2L, I recommend watching them; it's a review of the chapter, but there are a lot of them.

Professor Oliveria is an awesome professor. I took him for honors half online & in class. His quizzes are easy & you can use your notes. His exam are a bit more challenging. Two of his exams are online the final however is in class. He made a few mistakes in the quizzes but gave us the points for his error. His papers are actually just paragraphs.

Loved this class and I would like to take another class with him. He was very funny and always treated me with respect. Make sure you turn everything in on time, do the extra credit, and show up to his lectures and you will love him to!

I absolutely loved professor pedro. His lectures were interesting and engaging. As long as you show up and pay attention, you're going to pass. Didn't even open the book though, so no need buying it. All the information you need is in his power points and lectures. Extra credit can bring you an entire letter grade higher too

I thought a logic class would be simple but it is after you learn and practice it. He is an awesome teacher and made it easy to understand. Gave lots of extra credit that contributed to my final A even after failing the final exam! It was a session 2 class and It was perfect. TAKE HIM!

He sometimes can't cover everything that he needs to, but he puts up online videos for us to watch to reinforce what we learned, and they help A LOT. He wants his students to succeed. He gives extra credit and all of his assignments are straightforward. If you want a professor that can make a seemingly boring subject enjoyable, then take this prof.

Very good teacher. My class had a online portion so two out of the three tests were online. Everything you need to know to pass is in the powerpoints. It's kind of hard not to do well in his class.

Logic could be a difficult course but Professor Oliveira does his best to help you succeed. He truly enjoys what he does. So many extra credit opportunities, however tests are challenging. As long as you stay on top of all assignments and pass the tests an A is possible. Great experience.

Best Philosophy professor there is. I took the blended course and all the tests and quizzes were online. There were 3 tests and 10 quizzes and 7 writing assignments. Each writing assignment was 150-175 words and there was a 100 point bonus writing assignment. Fairly easy class and no extra effort is required to get an A.

Just do everything. It's not hard. If you don't pay attention in class it's okay because everything is on the power point just read it before taking a test. I took this during the summer. All tests and assignments were online- easy. For discussions you could get an idea from other students submissions. Lets class out early, instead a full two hours

I loved Dr. Olivera's class. Took his ethics class and it was great. He's a fair grader and really works with his students. The class is easy and understandable. Uses real-world experience to bring the class to life. I definitely would take his class again.

He's strict, but funny. He doesn't bend around the rules, but they're all very clear and simple ones so that he doesn't really have to. I didn't have to open the textbook -- he's very good at teaching and also offers videos. Easiest A I've ever gotten.

The class was very well-structured. The online assignments and tests are not very hard if you read the printed notes in front of you. Prof. gives tons of extra credit so if you don't pass - It must be something wrong with you! Prof. Oliveira was extremely knowledgeable and funny. Strongly recommend this class for Computer Science and Prog majors.

I just finished my 8 weeks class with him. HE IS AMAZING. Everybody loves his lecture. He is so real and clear in his lecture. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I voted for him to be elected professor of year. In his class not only you will understand and pass it, but also you will learn stuff that you need for your life.

online quizzes, half of them were extra credit ones. super easy and the extra credit quizzes really help boost your grade. three online tests that were pretty easy as well. 5 assignments that were only need about 150-300 words basically a paragraph each assignment and they're simple, definitely recommend

The content of the work is hard to grasp , but he is a great professor. He gives extra credit. There are 3 exams and 9 quizzes, and 5 assignments. Not very hard but the info is hard to understand. My suggestion would be not to take a 6 week class because it is hard and too fast. Also, the quiz answers are on quizlet

Loved his class ! Very easy as long as you pay attention in class and read his power points. He's very funny. You can miss 2 days of class and won't get penalized for it. After 2 days you get 10 points taken off your attendance (you start off at 100). TAKE HIM YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!! SUPER EASY CLASS. Learned a lot !

I am very glad I got to take his class. I HIGHLY suggest you pay attention to your word count for the assignments. One word can mean the difference between an A or B! I took his 6 week class and I did not find the amount of work overwhelming, in fact, it was easier to pace myself. I learned a lot and will use what I learned in the future.

Definitely not a bad teacher very kind to us students. I took session 4 class which was perfect no need to spend a whole semester on it. 2 exams (online) , 10 quizzes 2 trys (online) , 5 written assignments 150 words, and 1 discussion and 1 extra discussion for extra 100 points Everything on quizzes are on exam verbatim, except for a small few.

He's very nice. His grading criteria is very clear, you cannot have one word more or less than his word count criteria or points will be taken off! His lectures are him explaining his PowerPoints. He doesn't ask for student's opinions or discussion in class, which is kinda boring and it's easy to not pay attention. The work isn't hard.

A respectable professor. He's very clear about what he's grading you on, and the material itself is not hard at all. The only drawback to this class are the lectures, which is just him going through powerpoints without any input from students. Still though, just pay attention and do your assignments, and you'll get an A. Adhere to the word count.

He is just amazing, I learned so much in his class and it was the easiest A Ive ever gotten, he gives your ample time to complete your work, and hes just an overall sweet man, you do not have to buy the book, just make a study group chat and help eachother out. Take him!! Best decision 100/10

Fun caring professor. Probably was the first and only class that made me look at life differently and really provide a different aspect to the world. Great professor and able to give help when needed.

He is amazing!! One of the nicest professors I had, as long as you read his power points you will pass! Take his class! He makes the class very interesting and fun. After this class, I now see things from a different perspective.

Easy A no need to buy a textbook his extra credit really does help a lot!!! Easy assignments multiple choice but very easy and writing assignments are easy he has a specific word count so if you go pass that he will take points off

Show up, do your work and you'll get an A. It's not alot of work and he gives extra credit. Lectures are a bit boring since he doesn't allow much participation but yeah. Easiest A so far

Professor Oliveira made this class extremely enjoyable. I would take him again without a doubt, and I highly recommend him to those who need to get their humanities credits to graduate. He specified specifically what he was looking for in assignments. If you do that, it is a guaranteed 100%. Take him, you wont regret it. No stress at all.

It was an easy class, but it did have a lot of assignments. His lectures were very boring but do the work and you'll get an A. Follow the rubric and you should be fine. He's specific on word count so pay attention to that. Do the extra credit in case you don't do well on the midterm or final. Don't purchase the book, you'll never use it.

Dr. Oliveira is one of the only professors I've had that has shown that he was passionate and enthusiastic about what he was teaching. It's very rare to find professors like that now. His class is also one of the easiest As I 've received. He explains everything thoroughly and gives ample time to complete assignments. I would def. take him again!

WOW! I haven't met a good, passionate professor like him in a while. Such a sweetie, gives clear instructions, and never makes anything impossible to understand. If you're interested in what you're learning, you will have a great time. Plus, he's Brazilian, which is the cherry on top kkkk.

This was my favorite professor by far. He was so funny, and you can tell he actually cared about his class and the topic that he was teaching. Very easy homework and all the work was done online including the midterm and final. I would recommend this class to anyone who is looking to have a good time but also to expand their mind.

Super easy class and a great teacher. Tough grader, but he provides feedback for EVERYTHING. First 4 weeks I went from a D in his class, to finishing with a B. Just by paying attention to his feedback. He sends weekly announcements keeping students up to date on assignments.. A lot of reading but there's only 3 proctored quizzes & 6 assignments.

Dr. Oliveira one of my favorite professors at BC. His lectures fun & he adds fun little jokes to them. I loved his class. The quizzes/exams aren't difficult as long as you study the slides he provides & pay attention in his lectures. Writing assignments aren't difficult either. He's a great professor and funny too. Would take his class again 10/10

Amazing class, must read and watch videos. 3 proctored quizzes that were based on the reading. Papers were also simple and straightforward but only if you understand the material. You can also work ahead but must complete assignments on rigid due dates. No leniency in terms of late assignments or retakes.

This class had lots of reading but the content was interesting. He's also a tough grader and specific w/ guidelines but gives good feedback. He has 2 proctored exams (midterm and final) but he provides a study guide for both. Overall 8/10 professor!

Professor Oliveira's class was straightforward, with clear guidelines and helpful feedback. The coursework can be time-consuming, but using resources like Unstuck study alongside the provided study materials really helped me excel. An easy A if you stay on top of the work.

Dr Oliveria is very good he actually made us feel more engaged in the class I took Philosophy and I failed this time I passed the class with a solid B he can be very laid back in certain cases and he really good examples to teach us

The start of the course I was scared because the content looked hard, if you really take time to understand the course material you will do fine, there is practices quizzes also to help, there are 3 big exams and assignments, I also suggest putting effort in assignments to help if you fail the exams, overall I failed some but still passed.

This is my first time rating a professor and this professor was good. The class was easy and simple, even though his lectures were 2 1/2 hours long, he had the PowerPoints that he read off but I don't mind. He would give disclaimers if he knew the topics were controversial. If you had any questions or concerns he would be there to listen and help.

I am very happy to have taken Dr. Oliveira's class. I learned a lot about morality, its theories, theology & more and most importantly, I learned a lot about myself and those around me. This class should be a requirement. It is an intro to a lot of matters you will come across in life. I highly recommend you make this part of your schedule.

He doesn't let up about reminding you to not use ai for the assignments. Other than that he opens up everything so you can finish early if you want. Just study the best way you can. Ace the assignments so if you get a lower grade on the quizzes the assignments will keep your grade up. Would absolutely take this professor again.

I loved his class but there is not late work allowed unless the conditions are met as stated in the syllabus.

Very simple chapter reviews after each class, as well as simple tests. There's room for extra credit and plenty of time for assignments. Just do the work and show some level of understanding. Although I wouldn't recommend asking questions during his lecture, as he claims it will "Be in the next chapter," it never is, or he just repeats it.
