probably the worst teacher ever. he shows up ten minutes late, makes up some horrible story that everyone pretends to laugh at, rambles on about how much pot he smokes, brags about being mexican, and pulls a bs lecture outhis butt.

Mr. Ramirez's class is geared toward liberating Mexico and telling tales of how he grew up in the 'ghetto', not teaching English. He uses slang and improper grammar on a daily basis. He was most unhelpful. I would NEVER recommend this 'teacher' to ANYONE!!

he's a good teacher but hard to understand. very hard grader. he also waste the time in other things.

I would not recommend him to seriously anyone..I cant remeber learning anything useful out of that class..His lectures are never clear and goes off on things that do not relate to english or the class...He offends other races, and only focuses on the Mexican culture and repeatedly says the the Mexicans have suffered the most throughtout history.

this teacher is always late to class. He kicks all his late students out even though he is late also. he gives way to much homework for one class. and does not accept late work or homework through email. He is unconsiderate of situations.

Worst professor and class ever. NEVER TAKE HIM.

Respected professor however the group work didnt make much sense, 1 for every chapter (hecka chpts). Bought 5 mini books but barely used it. We didn't do anything for like first 2 months & he crammed everything in last min. We had like 2 essays & 2 group presentation . Most of the assignments never made sense. Didn't learn anything in this class.

Horrible teacher. Do not take him, hits on students and does not follow the format he is supposed to for the Mastery exams. Is at least 15-20 minutes later to EVERY class period. Wasted time taking this class. He was taken out of the class and we had two other teachers step in to teach us.

Look, he gets off topic and it is a pain because no one knows what is going on. My advice, dont take his class unless you really have to.

Don't take Ramirez unless absolutely necessary. Rambles about who knows what for most of class and the bulk of assignments get piled on all at once. Took him over Summer, we spent the first 4 of 6 weeks on Ch1 of the text and he then assigned us a 4 pg essay, the entirety of Ch2 and a group presentation all to do over a weekend. Biggest mistake. Hes unorganized, we only read one book and during these last 3 weeks he expected us to read the rest of them. His group projects made no sense, he doesnt know how to explain, goes off topic a lot, doesnt grade anything his reader does. Theres 10 of us left most stopped showing up. Listen to these reviews and dont take him.

I highly recommend you do not take this class, if you are thinking about it ... this is your sign! This professor is lazy, unprofessional, and unorganized! His work does not make any sense whatsoever, he sucks at explaining too! He doesnt teach for the first two months, the last three months he begins to throw so much group work in little time!

For future students that are thinking into enrolling into this class DONT DO IT. Hes not a good professor and is very unorganized. All throughout the semester I didnt learn anything it was a waste of time! He talks for half of the period about off topics and gives you the rest of the class time to start working on unclear assignment.

Without a doubt he was the worst teacher I have ever had. Spent most of class talking about his life. He went as far as to show us pictures of a trip he and his wife had. Yelled at a student and called campus security on him, because the student disagreed with the grade he received. It is honestly amazing how he still has a job at this point.

RAMÍREZ is a very nice person, he's very proud of his roots and culture but aside from that... he is unorganized, gets off topic very easily, wastes time, gives unclear assignments, yields at everyone, kicks out students who are 1 min late and he gives assignments that are 5 points worth. Super nice guy, but terrible prof. Instructions weren't even instructions, it was super confusing to try and figure out how to do an assignment. 90% of the time he talked about his personal life. Didn't really learn anything.

Although he is a very interesting teacher, he lacks the ability to be thorough and clear with directions and expectations. If anything I learned more about his personal life than actual things I couldve used to further take with me out of class.

I took Professor Ramirez this semester and was on track to pass this course after completed the assignments but unfortunately his research projects were very confusing and I may not pass now. I asked for help to understand the assignment better and his response was do the research or recieve and F. Im upset because I couldve taken another course.

Professor Ramirez struggles to give clear instructions. I asked for help and clarification many times and he would just dismiss me. I also felt like I was the only one not understanding what was happening in the class. I passed the class but only thanks to my friends who were also taking it with me. Otherwise, I would have failed.

This class was messy and disorganized. Immediately, the class was set up into groups, but he kept insisting it was not a group project. He was vague, and could not explain what he wanted us to do. He gave us worksheets with instructions that were jumbled up nonsense. Another student tried to explain it because the questions were so cryptic.

Absolutely the worst experience with a college professor, and not because he's rude or gives out the most assignments but because he is incapable of understanding his own directions. He is completely bipolar with his grading he'll either tell you you had the best work in the class or tell you that your work is not what he asked for although it was.

Instructions were always unclear. I had to fight with this teacher to give me one point after doing the assignment correctly which was watching a video and saying done he gave me 1/2 points for saying done which is what he said to do. Overall I do not recommend this professor.

The absolute worst teacher I have ever taken, he refuses to understand that not everyone has the time to complete busy work that often didn't even make sense. Your whole grade relies on busy work, even when I told him I was having technical issues he completely blew me off and gave me a 0. Do not take this professor if you want to keep your sanity

Learned a lot about a different culture from this class. The only thing wrong is that he's unorganized and is unclear with his instructions. About 70% of the assignments do not have clear directions, making the students confused. Also, there are a lot of typos for some reason. Other than that, he seems to be very laid back... a little too much.

He is completely unprofessional and expects us to already know everything. His instructions were never clear and was very strict with deadlines for even the smallest assignments.

I failed and have to retake. My counselor told me to not take his class again. He doesnt care about personal issues and although workload is confusing, he wants things done a certain way. If you mess up once, oh well! No second chances and no sympathy.

Pedro Ramirez is one of the worst professors i've had for both English 1D and English 35. Don't ever take his online class unless you enjoy essays as they dont consist of any lecture just reading and essays every week. He expects good writers in his class but provides nothing on how to become a better writer.

I tried to email him about an assignment that I turned in and received a 0, just because he couldnt access it. Told me he would DECIDE whether or not to grade it a second time if I gave a good enough explanation. Dont take the class if you want to be set up for failure.

Has extremely unclear directions, his TAs don't understand the assignments when grading, and when he grades, his feedback isn't even constructive. If you are able to, do NOT take his class!!!

Most of the assignments given were busy work. We spent an unbalanced amount of time on chapter 1 of the text and then had to write 2 papers on the rest of the reading in a short span of time. Professor Ramirez was unclear in his instructions and grading criteria. He was also uncooperative or did not respond at all to any questions the class had.

AVOID him. He "taught" elementary school concepts, but at least those teachers actually stood up and gave a lecture. Ramirez just throws PowerPoints, essays, and TED talks at you. He has managed to make English mind-numbing, impressive considering our literary canon. He gives busywork and is vague. Feedback is not tailored to the writer.

It's the same: unclear directions & lazy grading. It's so unclear that I had to "create" an assignment on my own, and he still gives a full grade on it. He assigns WAY too many essays, and most of them are from his ENG35 class that I took last year. He doesn't teach at all & only gives irrelevant videos. Just quit if you hate teaching our school!

Professor Ramirez is not a great instructor. At the beginning of the semester, I already felt the class schedule was going to be destructive to my grade and my overall health. But when I messaged him about it, he preferred to point out my fallacies than think about how to assist a student. Assignment instructions were never clear & vague.

He doesn't even care with my mental health when I email him & it seems like he doesn't care about his students. Instructions were never clear & that is when I dropped this class. Idk why he works here & how he's going to get reported to the dean.

I would never take this mans class again. My grandmother and sister had died and we were in the process of moving. I had a heavy workload and was very stressed and asked for an extension on the assignments. After sending a well put together email about my situation, he simply said "No." with no explanation as to why. Heartless and inhumane.
