extremely intelligent and fun teacher! class is always interesting and she is very enthusiastic when she teaches. a lot of chapter summaries for hw, one paper, two tests. somewhat critical when she grades but not too bad i don't think.

Totally great--she's funny and smart. I never liked history until I took Lamphier-- she teaches us both history, and how to think about history, how to learn, how to study, etc.

Do the work, get good grade. this is not your typical parade of presidents history class. She teaches all the stuff you wish you knew in high school. She tells how it really was and how women and minorities greatly contributed.

She's one of the best professors I've EVER had! She makes all her lectures interesting and clear. As long as you read weekly and go to lecture, you'll get an "A" in the class. Although I took her in the summer, and it was hot, it wasn't a bother because all the attention was given to her lecture.

I just finished Professor Lamphiers Women in U.S. History and she is excellent. I had previously taken her for U.S. History and she was wonderful then as well. Best teacher I have had yet. 1 multiple choice test and 2 essay tests...not hard at all though. You have to turn in 7 h/w assignments total, and its your choice when you want to do them. Extra credit is also given. she is funny and makes it fun to come to class, not boring...recommended!!!

I would definately recommend this class. This professor has a unique take on women's history, and you will definately not be bored. One essay test, one mulitple choice test, 7 hw assignments, and final was two essays. It's very easy if you come to class and pay attention. There was also 30 pts e.c. if you need it. This class will make you think.

This was the only class I didnt want to miss. each class was informative and fun. She is out going and very helpfull.DO YOUR HOMEWORK!,( I mean really do it, and not half ass it) and you will get an "A". She is the most wonderful professor at mt.SAC! I think she should moonlight as a stand-up comedian! doesn't take roll, but youll want to come anyway! Really helpful on the essays, midterm comes directly from the notes, do yourself a favor and knock out the responses early, try not to be too disappointed when she shows a film instead of lecturing.

All I can say is that she is a really smart and fun person who knows her stuff! She is passionate about History and creates lecture very unique and interesting. You are engaged in every lecture because she is so passionate. I love this class and if I could take it again I would. Show up to class though! you will learn from her!

Light readings are the homework, do them and grade wise you'll pass. Show up to class (& watch the videos on x1.5) and you'll get an easy A if you pay attention. She doesn't care if you use your phone, your grade is on you. The tests are nothing to stress over.

I took Peg in the fall at CPP. She is extremely nice teacher and very honest. She doesn't lecture, she has class discussions about the reading and asks for your opinion on it. She would take us on little field trips on campus and educate us on different topics. I took IGE 320. Best class, highly recommend.

Professor Lamphier is great. She wants you to pass the class so she is pretty lenient. Every week there is reading and a paper to do. There were also a few fun activities in class to help absorb the material. She makes an effort to teach the you the REAL US history so its interesting. Textbook is online so that was amazing, just buy scantrons.

Peg is one of the most caring, inspirational, genuine professors out there. She truly cares about her students. Class mostly consisted on lectures and once every two weeks had group activities. There are reading responses once a week and she'll post the pdf files for you on what you need to read. Honestly, I never read any of them I just skimmed them and kinda bs it and got a check plus. Super easy class and we get to film a scary movie which was fun to do and watch. Just show up to class bc she does do attendance.

Professor Lamphier IS. AMAZING. Workload isn't too bad, like 3-4 hours of work a week but it is very easy and stress-free. CANVAS GRADE IS NOT HER GRADE. I thought I could get away with not doing a few assignments and still pass with an A but I ended up with a B+. Seriously just take her class, not only is it an easy A but you WILL learn lots!

The most chill prof EVER! I genuinely looked forward to her lectures as they were easy to funny and easy to comprehend. The workload is not bad at all. You can honestly work ahead and get extra work done if you're going to be busy. No quizzes, just a midterm and final which were papers (open notes (online)). You read a book, but it's simple!

Literally best professor i've ever had. Homework consists of weekly notes on lectures, reading response and taking notes on videos. NO QUIZZES. Easy mid term essay and easy final essay. Each class consisted of getting into groups and discussing/research/small projects. You will get participation points removed for not showing up a bunch. 10/10

I loved this class and the professor! She is so unique and her lectures do take up to an hour but she's not a slow talker. Every week you had to do one discussion post, a lecture with notes, and watch a video where you would then submit 12-15 things you learned in the video. There is a paper for the midterm and final but super easy.

Such an easy A, ended the class with a 100%. Every single week you have the same stuff to do and each class meeting is shortened by like 1-2 hours. But she also makes her political views very very obvious in class so if ur a snowflake this ain't the professor for you.

She's super funny and cares a lot about women's history, it shows in the variety of assignments she gives. All assignment were easy but super interesting. Drops 1-2 assignments from each catagory I believe, as in you don't have to do them.

Online 16 week class during Fall 2025. No textbook needed. Professor provides weekly recordes lectures. Homework is really easy lecture notes and discussions. You can literally just copy info from videos. No quizzes or tests during semester. Midterm and final are essay questions. lectures can be annoying when she talks about her political view.
