Awesome.Makes it easy to give a speech.everyone in my class was scared in the beginning and now they're confident and amazing speakers.I learned so much and now I'm not scared to speak at all, in fact, I love it. I highly recommend! She cares about her students a lot and will help if you need it.

AMAZING instructor. Very genuine and creates a comfortable environment for the students. I did not want to take this class at all but she made it fun and easy! Only had one test and grades the speeches easily and always has something positive to say.

Professor is knowledgabe but self-promoting at times. Class can be a fun/interesting based on student effort. Great environment to learn, instuctor wants students to succeed.

You have to do speech classes for your degree.You hate it and you feel uncomfortable just standing there speaking to people. Is this you? Then THIS teacher is for you. She makes giving a speech from something horrible into something fun. Yes, I said fun. I know, incredible.. But if you have a chance, get in her class. You won't be sorry.

If you haven't taken Public Speaking yet this is the teacher to take. She is a great teacher. she makes everyone in her class comfortable and she is a lot of fun. A wonderful teacher! I, like most people, dreaded taking this course. But Ms Mahara made the class interesting and fun. She is very kind, understanding, and has a very disarming teaching style (perfect for a speech class). Note that you will have to do the work (as it should be). If you do the work, you will have no problem getting a good grade.

She's honest, warm, feeling & personal. If you like people you'll love this class; show up on time & don't be afraid to let your opinions show - you'll ace the course if you're honest & prepare for the presentations. Don't miss the chapter review lectures or the videos, the exam is directly from them. She gives 2nd chances.

One of the most loving and caring teachers I have ever had. She actually listens to her students. At first I was deathly afraid of speech, but after taking her, I feel like I could do ok. She never makes anyone feel uncomfortable. If you HAVE to take speech, please do yourself the favor and take her.

Prof. Mahara is a TREASURE! Every student was nerve-wracked at first, terrified of public speaking, but nobody skipped HER class! She had us feeling like we were speaking to dear friends, not strangers! Her own stories & experiences put everyone at ease & warmed our hearts. Ms.Mahara is wonderful. a truly caring teacher. she makes everyone fell comfortable giving speeches. always has kind words. i really loved the class. she made us all feel close to one another. she even cried during some of the Tribute speeches that some gave which were very touching. take this class, you will love her.

She's a very kind prof that loves speech. She made the class so comfy that by the end of the sem. everyone was good friends. She's a very easy grader. There is 1 test but you have the std gd w/the test questions so it's an easy A if you try. Attend is mand & will cost 20 pts per abs. but w/all the E.C. there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A.

Ms. Mahara has to be one of the best teachers I have ever had at any school. She is genuinely interested in the education of her students. She motivates students to become part of the process and encourages them to strive to be better in each class. Great teacher all way around. Would gladly take her again if I could.

Ms. Mahara is an incredible teacher. She has such a passion for what she does and that's what makes her class enjoyable. You do a total of 5 speeches, and the gordon rule writing. I would highly recommend her; you also get to choose all your topics for your speeches!!!

As many other students I feared to take speech but Mrs. Mahara made us feel welcome from the start. I felt very comfortable and she really knows her stuff.I liked that we were able to pick our own topics for our speeches. You have to complete the 2000 word gordon rule and 5 speeches.She gives extra credit. Easy A! I highly recommend this teacher.

Awesome instructor. She loves teaching and truly cares about each student's success. Encourages you and gives insightful feedback. Gives the class more of a personal atmosphere, which eases the pressure of speaking in front of everyone. I tell everyone I know to take her. You will learn as much about yourself as you will about public speaking.

Speech-Take her, take her, take her! Only rules show up, dont be late(you will lose points..trust me) Educated, easy to work with and will make you a comfortable speaker. She knows the business world very well(current professional speaker for business meetings) so come in, listen up and learn a thing or two.

Ms. Mahara was a great teacher, who pulls the best out of you. She wants you to do your best and by the end of the term you want the same for yourself. The sense of accomplishment is great ans so was she!

Professor Mahara is extremely passionate for her work. You will leave that class with a lot more speaking confidence and a better outlook on life. The course actually helped me land a job. My interviewer said that I presented my self extremely well for my age and he was very impressed with me. I thank that comment to Professor Mahara and my class.

One of the best teachers I have ever had! I learned a lot from this class about myself and about life. Mid-term is very easy, and the final exam was a speech. Definately take this teacher!!

Prof. Mahara made the class fun. She's very helpful, but boy can she go off on a tangent telling stories. She told so many stories, there was no time for a final, so the final was a speech. Don't waste money on the textbook, you won't be opening it.

My fear of public speaking is conquered and its because of this class. There are 4 main speeches and peer reviews. You'll learn how to improve your speaking through those reviews and how to relax by watching others. If you need a speech class, take Mahara (even though she gets off topic sometimes haha)

I was terrified to take speech. I had tried to take it 2 times before I took it with Ms. Mahara. She is the only reason I made it through this course! She is caring and compassionate towards all of her students. She likes to tell a lot of stories but I enjoyed that because she has lots of experiences to share. She wants you to succeed so pick her!

Professor Peg Mahara is a world class instructor. Our class became a community through her gentle leadership. Although the assignments required preparation, the directions were easy and clear. I feel that this class helped me grow as an individual. The competencies taught extend far beyond the classroom setting. Take Professor Mahara's class! :)

Ms. Mahara brings a lot of real world experience to the classroom. She is a facilitator and does a great job of building confidence. She can get off track a bit but she generally has a motive for it. Liked her very much.

I hate public speaking but this class is only as hard as u make it and Mrs. Mahara made it very compfortable. Only used the textbook for the midterm. A speaking course is required...be sure to take Mahara. Professor Peg is a genuinely warm,compassionate person. She sets clear expectations, so there is no guess work. Material is not difficult at all, and she makes it fun and enjoyable. I can actually say I will miss everyone when the semester ends.

Shes a very warmhearted person who truly cares about her students. She's very selfless with everything she does and she really knows how to listen when your giving your speeches. She made me feel very comfortable with giving speeches and she created an amazing environment for us to encourage each other. For me she was the deal teacher.

Teacher is amazing! She knows what she is talking about, makes it easy to understand and helps any who need it. Attendance is required or points are deducted, however there is E.C. that can be earned. The ONLY TEST you will take is the midterm and its 50 questions straight from the text book and this is the only time it is used. Good class,take it!

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Public speaking is a very difficult task for many people but I became much more comfortable with it during her class. You get a lot of feedback from Ms. Mahara and from the other students in the class. If you need a speech class, take hers.

TAKE THIS TEACHER!!! There is only 1 test and 4 speeches. As much as I hate public speaking, she has made it an enjoyable experience. There is a good amount of extra credit available, Take it! she does deduct for absences so attend every class or it will bring down your grade.

Best teacher on the campus. Really miss her class, just came to see if she's still as awesome as she use to be. I didn't know anyone in the class but she created an environment where everyone felt comfortable with each other. She gives you 110% of her attention when you speak. Ms. Mahara's class are for those who want to get a easyA I didn't learn anything. Be at class, complete the gorden rule assignment two papers,she gives the class the answers to mid-term 50 questions so all I had to do is memorize them, play inro bingo game 1st class, my class got to watch a movie a real movie not a boring "movie" and a few speechs.

AMAZING! If you show up to class and do your best you are sure to pass. She has a way of making things fun and you WILL have a good time. I HATED speaking in front of people, but professor Mahara made it easy. Best teacher I've had so far. You will always leave the class smiling and in a good mood.

Professor Mahara is GREAT!I began this class thinking I would hate it, I couldn't have been more wrong. Professor Mahara made speaking easy and fun, I learned so much from her and the other students. Each speach is given with a power point presentation that you create to bring your speech to life which is pretty cool. this class is very laid back.

I've been putting off taking this class for 40 years and finally decided to do it and cross it off my bucket list! I am so glad I waited to take it from Professor Mahara at the Tarpon Springs campus She is a gifted instructor that helps take the fear out of public speaking and she really helped us bond as a class. I was dreading taking speech class--again. I am so happy that I took it with Ms. Mahara. We didn't immediately getting started on doing speeches. She had us get comfortable with the process. Speeches began after midterm. We picked our own topics and i loved the post-it note feedback from students. She is a GREAT teacher. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!

This is an awesome class! She was very easy, just do your speaches and you will get an an. She makes you want to be there! I hate speaking in pubic but I honestly MISS this class. You have one test (midterm) easy, you get all your ansers that will be on the test. EASY CLASS!

I have extreme anxiety when it comes to public speaking, but Mrs. Mahara was amazing and made it ALOT easier to deal with! You get to use PP for each speech, one mid-term which you have all the answer for. Don't buy textbook bc you won't be using it. She is passionate about speaking, hence, this is her retirement job! Professor Mahara is an incredibly sweet and caring teacher. She provides clear instruction on what is expected of her students and is very lenient even if you don't meet her expectation. I almost think she is too nice, I watched other students take advantage of her kindness. Attendance is mandatory; but she makes your time there worthwhile.

Professor Mahara is a wonderful professor. No college student wants to take a speech course, but we all have to. I highly recommend her! She starts out the semester slowly. By the end of the 16 weeks, you feel much more confident in your speaking ability. She gives you individualized feedback with every speech. Always available for her students.

She is an awesome teacher. Do the assignments that she asks on time and you will have no problems in this course. She does offer extra credit. Very laid back grader. However she does take off points if you are late to class, leave early, or miss a day. She is super sweet. No textbook necessary.

Easiest class ever, she is very clear on what she wants and when she wants it, but is always willing to accept late work-will take off points. Total of four speeches in her class, one with a partner and three by yourself. Speeches were very easy, and she is an easy grader. Takes off points if you miss class, so make sure you show up.
