Peggy is awesome! I'd take anycourse with her! Hard tests, but prepares well!
nobody could teach anatomy any better! very organized.
Great teacher. VERY organized and friendly. Hard tests, but hey, this isn't elementary school.
Was an excellent teacher for Biol 150, but not so much in this course. Test, Lab, Assignment questions are often very ambiguous, but she looks for extremely specific/precise answers.
Her class 4 years ago was my first bio class and she made it so clear and understandable that as a fourth year nursing student i still refer to my notes from her class -- and still ask her questions from time to time!
Awesome class, AMAZING notes. Course is hard, but that's not really her fault. Very helpful, labs are amazing... took her course 2 years ago, now doing Kines at UVic and I still remember and apply what she taught me.
Peggy is a witty instructor that makes Biology fun and stimulating. The course may be heavy at times but who cares since their is a 16:1 ratio of girls to guys. Also if you are willing to learn and a good memorizer a B+ is easily in your future.
Awsome teacher!
peggy is really nice and willing to help any time her pre typed notes make a huge difference and she is really enthusiastic about biology. she makes an otherwise painful course interesting and exciting
Peggy ROCKS
Peggy is the greatest. Always helpful. Interesting class. You can really tell Peggy loves Biology
Peggy is very helpful and happy to answer any questions you want to know.
Her tests/quizzes are amazingly hard. She's so passionate about bio and her enthusiasm can be infectious. She is interested in teaching her course to different types of learning which is great. She's got awesome biceps too.
Peggy is an enthusiastic teacher! I wouldn't recommend taking this class just for interest, because it is pretty hard and requires alot of time memorizing outside of class. Lab quizzes are very hard. Expect to study about 2 hours a day.
Great teacher, very nice. If she doesn't know the answer to your question she'll look it up and get back to you. Lab days are a must on the attendance scale, i learned this quick.
She's an awesome teacher. Funny and engaging, got to love Peggy!
I love Peggy! She's an amazing teacher. Very helpful if you don't understand anything. And she's understanding. However, she's hard to keep up with her notes. She's quick on the notes so if you can't keep up with her make sure you have a back up partner for notes.
The course itself is NOT easy given the limited time frame.. there's so much to cover in 4 months. However, she is an amazing teacher, fun environment to learn in too!
Using the textbook is beneficial. If something is not clear, ask her. She is more than willing to help. Notes are pretty simplified, so simply memorizing them won't help you, you need to actually understand the info. Try and compare to Thuy's notes to fill in the gaps. Don't drink water or eat in the lab she takes it VERY personal lol. DONT SKIP.
Challenging class, too much info to really know what will be on the tests. Peggy was an amazing teacher and worked hard for the class to help everyone.
Very nice lady but not very good at explaining the whole picture. She's great if she teaches to your learning style but not great if she doesn't. Learned more about running than anatomy. Failed 152 with Peggy then had Thuy for repeat of 152 & then for 153and got A- in both. Again Peggy is a really nice lady but only teaches to one style of learner
I really enjoyed having Peggy for Bio 152. With that being said though, this class is very very challenging and is something that you must put lots of work into to do well. Peggy provides you with good note packages but you have to review them on your own time forsure. You move through material very quickly but she always answered questions!!
Peggy is very approachable to ask questions. Utilize office hours! However, she does not go over answers for lab questions or assignments, so you often have to pray that you are correct (if you're not, then you're screwed for exams). She may go over lab questions with you (after you have answered them) in office hours only. No guarantee.
Had Peggy for Bio 152, and really enjoyed her as my instructor. Her notes are great and simplified, therefore if you study the note package you will be well prepared for the exams. She is continuously supportive and always there for her students. Go to tutorial and see her in office hours! She is always willing to help and answer questions for you
She sets you up for failure because she doesn't lecture to the extent to which she wants you to know the material. She talks about the "big picture" a lot but her slides and her notes don't support that. She wastes time on untestable and irrelevant information then complains about being behind. Her info is hard to follow and she speeds past slides.
Unfortunately Peggy was never clear with explaining what we actually needed to learn and instead taught irrelevant information which ultimately put us behind. Her PowerPoints are basically no help to learn from considering she goes so fast through them. Also you never know what to expect on a test considering she doesnt test what she teaches.
Had Peggy for Bio153 which is a tough course in itself, but she made it 10x worse. She does not test on the material she teaches, expects you to know big picture/ in depth concepts when she doesn't actually teach them /give you notes on them. Constantly behind in lectures, teaching irrelevant things. Doesn't try to get to know her students.
Peggy is super accessible and goes out of her way to help if you need it
Tough grader! Tests on spelling!!! Hardest course i've taken in a while
Assignments are harder than what is taught in class
I really enjoyed Peggy as a teacher, a lot to remember but her notes packages helped!
Peggy is a really good teacher, shes always willing to help her students out and clearly cares about how her students are doing! I would highly recommend Peggy!
She knows her stuff and she explains the topics very clearly
Great teacher but a hard marker
Peggy is a super fair instructor. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Going to lectures isnt vital but it is super helpful because she makes everything make more sense. I would love to have Peggy again, she makes class interesting!!!
Study hard for exams. Questions are detailed but always straight from the notes package!
Very friendly and helpful! I like how she gets to know her students. The tutorials are great!
Peggy was a good instructor, she has an extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology. My only complaint was how quickly we moved through the content and how we would get marks off for spelling and the answers we needed to give had to be very specific. Loved the course!
wants you to succeed, is patient in her teaching, understands that the material is heavy, genuine.
I love Peggy! She is such an awesome teacher and really cares about her students. She is brilliant and is always willing to help, so long as you are willing to help yourself. She has awesome notes but moves quickly through the lectures.
Peggy was great we basically used her like an encyclopedia in lab, shes very nolligeable and approachable. Her lecture packages are mostly clear and contain all the material we have been tested on. She makes an effort to get to know the class and I genuinely feel like she cared about my success. That being said biology is just a really hard class
Very easy to talk too, we were a little pressured for class time, would have been nice to slow it down a bit. Overall a good teacher, very fair and is receptive to feedback!
Peggy's supportive but the course requires hard work. Good luck on memorizing spellings.
Really like Peggy. She does a good job discussing all the lecture material and the notes packages she creates are really useful.
Great teacher, has print-outs that are fill in the blank style to follow along with in lectures, so you're not racing to take notes through the lecture. Textbook was not required, everything that was testable was in the note packages. Her power points are also posted to D2L, lots of practice questions with answer keys as well.
Lecture material is straight to the point. Note packages are set up &are easy to read. Wish for certain subjects that there was more information, just to have more understanding. great with trying to help you when you have questions. This is a very hard course, but she is good at keeping it straight to the point. Prepares you well for lab portion
Participates in helpful and motivational one on one discussions in lab. Has a good sense of humor but is also very professional.
The course is a very reading heavy course, but peggy gives us note packages with all testable material in them. She is very knowledgeable and makes the content very understandable and interesting. There us a lot of memorization and comprehension in this material
Passionate and interested in the material taught. Very willing to help and answer questions outside of class time. Wants you to succeed! Difficult material and lots of content but teaches it well
Peggy is a tough marker, and a lot of the time her lecture material is behind prelab material. She is very accessible for extra help, and is very personable otherwise.
Peggy is a great instructor that really knows her stuff! She provides lots of examples and exercises for practicing lecture modules. It is crucial that if you want to pass this course successfully that you prioritize this class and STUDY!! There is a lot to study and understand. Peggy has great office hours and she responds by e-mail. Best of luck!
She was passionate and this made her lectures interesting. Although she was a tough marker, she was not unfair or unjust in her marking. Overall solid prof
Youre an excellent instructor. I find you to be caring and supportive. I wish if we had more time to gain the knowledge from you.
She is passionate and this made her lectures interesting. Although she was a tough marker, she was not unfair or unjust in her marking. Overall solid prof. I enjoyed the course
Get instructor, lectures are concise and relevant. There is a lot of material, and your input definitely reflects in how well you do in this class. She posts review questions for each unit on the D2L. Very helpful instructor, but don't fall behind!! Ateendance is not strictly mandatory, but show up for lecture! You need it!
Good class, well organized so you know what to do. Weekly quizzes take up time. Repetitive doing online pre labs and then copying it out in your notebook, essentially being marked twice for the same thing. Peggy has lots of office hours and is happy to go over material.
Really good teacher for a tough course.
Good professor who has a passion for the subject. Makes a potentially dry subject interesting.
Super helpful. Excellent teacher.
Material heavy course but Peggy made it enjoyable and interesting!
Great teacher, knows her stuff!! The content is painfully difficult to grasp. If you pay attention in class and study her notes packages, you should be good to go!
Peggys lectures were very well formatted and the notes packaged were helpful. She really cares about her students and wants everybody to do well!
Peggy is excellent. I feel very lucky to have had her! Firm and fair.
She makes quizzes that really help you stay on top of the course content. Really helpful
Lectures and labs were great and enjoyable! Bio tutorials helped so much!
Great class
Peggy was an awesome biology teacher. She always wanted the best for students and would often talk to them one to one after labs to see where the student was. The classes were filled with interesting content between all the course material which kept people engaged. She has quite the sense of humor which makes the class atmosphere feel a lot better
Peggy is great! She is very clear about what is testable, gives great learning tools and is very helpful when answering questions. She's also very friendly and her lectures are entertaining. I didn't use the textbook once.
Course is very heavy in content, however it is worth 4credits so that isnt surprising. Attending class and studying is critical for success. Great class, Peggy sets her students up for success
Peggy is great. Her lectures are comprehensive. She provides notes packages that contain all the material that are testable.

Great lectures, very knowledgeable and provides interesting examples relating to pathophysiology for nursing. Approachable and respectful to students. I think one thing that can be improved are to have more assignments for lectures.
well organized lectures, but she does post the PowerPoint slides onto the class website so it may make you unmotivated to come to class, especially for morning classes. she brings lots of visual learning tools often (brought placenta to class one day-) so lectures are fun occasionally.
Peggy is Awesome!! Very engageing and interesting lectures. Challenging exams and quizzes but she makes sure you are prepared. Would highly recommend! Very caring teacher and wants you to pass.
Peggy is a fantastic instructor, extremely enthusiastic about the material she is teaching. You can tell that she really cares about the comprehension of the students. She does a great job of covering every aspect of the course material. Very fair marker.
Peggy was always wonderful when teaching. She is humble and very knowledgeable, always ready to answer your queries. She makes the notes accessible in case you need to fill them in after the unit is finished and her teaching resources were well done, so you don't need the textbook for this class. There isn't much bad to say about her. Thanks Peggy!
Amazing teacher and really sweet. Her lectures are very heavy with material but she explains the content quite well. The midterm exam was very hard but the lab exam was fair.
Peggy is a lovely teacher that makes the stressful workload managable. She is wonderful in that she offers tons of help if needed as well as tutorials to help you review the weeks material. It was a pleasure to have her.
Very comprehensive and organized delivery. Peggy is warm, funny, and her extensive experience really make her a fantastic teacher! It is a hard subject and students need to put in a lot of work. Peggy is always available to help and is really patient and caring. You are super lucky if you get her, enjoy!!
This was my first nursing class (I did it before admission to the program) and Peggy made it so enjoyable. It was online for the semester and it took her a little bit to get used to online format, but once she did, it was super fun. Shes very clear on what she looks for and wants you to succeed. The far superior option for this course
Peggy is a warm, caring, and inspirational instructor and really applies the concepts to the practice of nursing. I really enjoyed Peggys teaching and her ability to relate the concepts to real life. Her notes and the way the course was laid out was very organized and even though the content was tough, she made it understandable and interesting.
Absolutely LOVE Peggy. She is such an amazing prof and genuinely wants her students to do well. Lecture exams are pretty hard but doable as long as you study off her note packages.
Her note packages are ridiculous, no one can learn what they are writing down when a professor is lecturing at five miles an hour. She is a kind person, but she runs her class like a high-school course. She ends classes late, because her lecture style does not allow her to cover all the material in a timely fashion.
Peggy is extremely nice but I found her hard to learn from. Her lectures are packed and rushed because of all the course content. She offers lots of support to students and cares about them. This course takes up 90% of your time and you cant start studying a week before the test if you expect to do well. The test are mainly application questions
I really enjoyed her lectures. Sure they are fast paced, but what do you expect when there is so much to be taught? She teaches in a fun, relatable way, and indicates what is important to remember (or not)for the exams, which I found really helpful. I spent just as much time on this class as my other classes (I had 7) and I still got a great grade.
Wish I could have Peggy's classes again. She is an amazing instructor---relating the bio knowledge to nursing and real life, helping students learn to gain comprehension. Really feel fortunate that I had Peggy's classes. WISH could ever again. Thank you Peggy
I had started this class without much of a biology background, it was intimidating but Peggy was able to get me up to speed and point me in the right direction of how to study and think in terms of biology. She gave me a great foundation before starting dental hygiene. Thanks Peggy!
