Easy, plain and simple, watch out for her misbuttoned top though.
Peggy is very bubbly which is great for 8AM class when everyone is tired. Really knows the material and teaches it well. Burps alot.
She is simple and plain, a great teacher, If you want to learn, take this class, just read, do your work and pay attention and you will do fine. I have no idea, why that guy on the bottom wrote that about her, maybe he never went to class. I got an A
She is a good teacher but the way she teaches was more in a presentation format just going by he PowerPoint slides and not really using the book. Plus she only gives 2 quizzes so you don't have much to work with if you do poorly. I was not satisfied.
She's pretty good. She's not super easy. but if you keep up with the work you'll get a pretty good grade.
Fairly good class. Class is not too dificult, however O'Kelly doesn't make it easier. She is one of those professors who simply just reads out of the book, well in her case a powerpoint presentation.Doesn't articulate on much. Her TA is this french man who speaks very poor English so that doesn'help.
Great teacher, easy to understand and very helpful. Take her class if you have the chance.
awesome prof, she relays her information very clearly. really nice lady, respects hard workers and made accounting somewhat interesting
She is a very nice person and very fair grader. It's not the easiest class but everything she requires can be done. I ended up with a pretty good grade and I didn't do well on everything so just show up for class and try your best and she will make sure you get a good grade.
She was an excellent professor; I loved her class. She made the subject so easy and you can tell she loves what she teaches. I definately recommend her!

Super Hott!!! kept me interested in class but might have led to my terrible grade

Awesome and amazing, great person with a great personality. I got a great grade all because of her!
blah.....don't believe the comments written above
Fabulous professor. Learned a lot and it wasn't difficult at all!
BEST professor at northeastern (and not just because she was easy on the eyes)... ONLY O'Kelly could make auditing interesting. Best thing to do: make sure to ask her for a review before the test and fill out the study guide she posts BEFORE the review so you can check your answers with hers. I had NO experience with auditing. O'Kelly's awesome!

She's an excellent professor; this is the second time I've had her. Exams are fair, reviews are comprehensive, and she's just a great professor. Highly recommended.
She's a good teacher. She gives good explainations and she really is concerned about your best interests. However, her Group Field Project (Group Project) is almost a waste of time because its a lot of work and its only worth 10% of your grade.
Best Professor at Northeastern. Goes beyond just teaching the textbook, makes class interesting and legitmately cares about making sure you're learning what you need to know. She ROCKS!
Prof. O'Kelly is so nice! She is willing to help you out as much as you need. She really wants you to do well in the class, and explains concepts very well. Exams are fair. Work hard and you'll get an A.
did not learn anything from this professor- taught all the material to myself... has a nice personality but doesnt seem interested in helping studetnts succeed. you really have to pay attention in class and even if you do its still hard to understand the material.
SO easy, but incredibly boring. You will definitely get a good grade, but you have to be prepared for excruciatingly long, dull lectures. She always had us do practice problems in class, and gave us 20 min to work them through... and then would work through them completely on the board...so its like doing the same problem twice and its painful.
Best prof ive had so far. She really wants you to succeed and is very understanding. I enjoyed going to class and she taught the material very effectively and simplified things. Quizzes and tests were challenging but if you go to class, keep up on the HW, and follow the review sheets and sessions she gives, you will do great in the class.
Lectures are clear and concise. Homework assignments do not take long to complete and helps a lot with understanding. Reading the textbook before class helps, but she explains everything so well that you'll still understand it even if you don't read. Reading the text helps with tests though, which are not hard if you study a little bit.
Very good. Recommended! She is the best accounting teacher at Northeastern University. Very clear and concise. You just need a good logic and you'll be fine. Practice the exercises though, this will help you a lot in the quizzes and exams!
Honestly one of the best classes I've taken at Northeastern solely because of Prof O'Kelly. She is very clear, always willing to help, and makes the material interesting.
Had her for both financial and managerial accounting. Very good professor, nice person. Explains topics very clearly.
Professor O' Kelly is a very helpful, crystal clear professor. Her mood in class is always positive, encouraging students to participate and making them comfortable asking questions. She also reminds the free tutoring sessions offered by the ACCT department. She also gives quizzes regularly, making sure no one falls behind.
Probably the most happiest professor I've seen at northeastern. She loves to teach, extremely friendly, and helpful. The class is much harder than Intermediate accounting 1, so be prepared to do a lot of work. She always curves. Two exams, 1 final, participation, quizzes.
Clear and concise
Very Clear. Perfect amount of hw, follow the syllabus and it's easy to keep on top of it. Quizzes/Tests are similar enough to class exercises, no curve balls there. Extremely helpful, extremely nice, and makes sure you know the TA so that resource is available as well.
she's not jaded like most profs. im probably getting a C+ in this class and i still like her(class avg is about a b+). don't fall behind on reading if it's a summer class. she'll go the extra mile for you, ex: she customized an explanation for me on her own time and gave it to me the next class. the material is challenging, but you should take her.
Great professor, highly recommend. I put in little to no effort and was able to understand all of the material and get an A.
Reads her power point way too much and doesnt work enough problems. I can read the powerpoint myself. Really nice, but could be so much better if she actually did problems in class and not read.
Comes across as fake (I see right past her smile) and makes you feel uncomfortable to ask questions. Also, unclear as to her expectations. Her explanations are good but tacky. Clearly rehearses before class and she often makes mistakes on the board which is evidence of her studying her examples without understanding them.
Professor O'Kelly is awesome, and anyone who says otherwise is jaded by a bad grade. She very clearly lays out complicated material and offers office hours all the time to help anyone who needs it. She is genuinely interested in helping her students learn and is highly recommended.
I had her for Managerial Accounting. Her lectures are a bit dry but I liked the class exercises. She hands out exercise papers and gives time during class to do them. And then you go over it. It helped me learn a lot.
Do the work and pay attention in class and it is an easy class. She is very clear and cares about her students.
Pay Attention and you'll do fine. Not an easy subject, and if you fall behind its EXTREMELY hard to get back up to speed. Not a class to take if your looking for an easy grade. Tough grader on tests/quizzes, never gives a curve or extra credit. Requires a good deal of outside studying to keep up. She knows the material better than any other teacher.
great teacher recommendable if you go to class your fine.
outstanding
Great professor, best one I had last semester. Very passionate about accounting, explains all the topics very thoroughly and prepares handouts for each lesson to practice what went over during the class. Go to class and pay attention to what she says, and you shouldn't have problems with the material. Takes attendance, so don't skip the classes.
Great professor who is very knowledgeable in her subject. Accounting is not something fun to me, but she made class interesting with handouts. Connect Assignments are challenging, but she makes the "Check My Work" button available, so that you can check your answers as many times as you want. Tests and quizzes are challenging.
Don't get tricked into thinking this is an easy A. While the homework is pretty straightforward and easy, the midterm/exams completely were a stark surprise... I mean since it's online you tend to slack but people getting below 70% on the exams were pretty much the norm.. Not an easy A
She is a good teacher, but you have to try in the class. There are online homeworks and online quizzes every week, which wasn't that bad. The midterm and final were all right, but you absolutely had to study. We also had 2 "Problem Sets" that are just problem packets. I would recommend her.
One of the best teachers I have ever had I would recommend her to anyone! she is so clear in the way that she teaches and breaks the class up between problem sets and lecture. She really cares about her students understanding the material. I never used the textbook and still got an A. She's the best!!
She is a good techer, her explanations are clear, I don't even need to use a textbook! I like this class, it is realtively easy for me
she is a charming person and a very helpful professor
Best professor in acct department. Very clear and helpful. Three exams and four quizs (drop the lowest one probably). Just come to class and do the hw problems you should be fine.
Best professor I have had at Northeastern. Her classes are interesting and easy to sit through. You have to take accounting you should absolutely take it with her.
She's absolutely wonderful! Explains things clearly and her in-class lectures and exercises are so helpful. She doesn't put anything surprising on her tests and quizzes. If you put forth the effort you should do pretty well.
quiz and exam are hard
Professor O'Kelly has a great teaching style! I felt like I was learning the material well in class and then having that knowledge reinforced by the online work was really helpful.
She's an amazing accounting teacher! Loved her class. Takes things step by step and gives examples to follow each lecture.
Accounting shouldn't be taken online, and Professor O'Kelly herself seems very uncomfortable with the format. That said, it's laid out fairly well, with reminders for all the homework that needs to be completed, etc etc. Her lectures don't fully cover the homework you are expected to complete, and you have to do online research on your own to do it
Peggy is the best accounting teacher there is! She really knows the information inside out and is extremely helpful. All the accounting sections learn the same thing and have the same types of quizzestests, but there is no question that she teaches the material the best. She is the most professional teacher I've ever had! Definitely recommend!
Best professor I've had at NU. Take her class! She teaches in a way that makes the material so much more understandable than it is in the textbook. Go to her office hours and homework help sessions if you are struggling and she will focus on the areas that you are struggling with. Focus on her class problems to do well on tests.
It was a fairly easy class but not taking anything away from the professor. was recommended by a friend am glad i took her class. explains well and comes prepared.
She was a great professor. She knew what she was doing and explained things well and really wants you to pass. She gives you a lot of optional things to practice with which is really helpful for the final. Her class is top notch.
Professor O'Kelly is the best professor I have had at Northeastern thus far! She is very articulate and clear in her lectures, and makes it a point to solidify our understanding with worksheets in class and Connect homework outside of class. She is helpful with office hours and she's extremely nice. Her tests and grading is fair!
Financial accounting is the most difficult class I've had at Northeastern, but I'm glad I took it with Peggy O'Kelly. She's an excellent teacher who makes you appreciate the topic, helps you learn, extends generous office hours, and offers lots of material to study from. Still, don't expect accounting to be easy, even with a great professor.
The tests in the class are difficult. Results aren't great, but I understood the material. Never really had to use the textbook because everything outside of the textbook could be used and were more helpful. Prof and TAs weren't very helpful. I recommend taking another prof.
Professor Peggy is very caring and accommodating with her office hours. She even offers extra help if you are willing to learn. I took 2 courses with her and absolutely she wants her students to succeed and offers her best! Thank You Professor Peggy!
She puts up videos and her TA's are amazing they reply instantly. It's a good introductory course to fin acct. I suggest taking it online as it pushes you to actually learn but at the same time have the confidence of support from your TA.
Don't take her class. Tough grader.
I had professor O'Kelly for Financial Accounting and she was amazing. Accounting can be difficult to learn for the first time and she does a great job communicating complex topics and making sure you are prepared for the exams. You have to work for an A, but it's definitely possible if you show up and do the work
I really enjoyed taking the class with Peggy. I find her to be very inspirational and a great teacher! She has made me want to pursue accounting!
I currently have professor Kelly and she's honestly one of the sweetest teachers I've met. You can tell she really cares about both her job and the students. The class itself also isn't hard. As long as you follow the lectures, do the worksheets that we do in class anyway, and the required homework assignments, you should be able to get a good grad
Peggy is amazing. You have to buy a classpack which has all the slides and is way better than the textbook. Homework is very manageable. Only one group project, which isn't too hard. Lectures are very helpful and she will remember your name and answer your questions. Must take!
Great teacher. Really brings up the value of our school. Responds to emails quickly, understanding of different situations, and truly cares about her students. 1 homework assignment a week in two parts, but really helps learn and is just like the quizzes and midterms. Love her! If you want a good environment to learn online and in person, she's it!
Professor Peggy cares about her students. I personally dislike accounting, but having her didn't make it worse. I'd recommend. Accessible outside of class. When we were remote, our homework was due at 11:59PM on Saturday, thus not promoting a healthy school/life balance, which I really didn't appreciate. Other than that, only good things to say!
She is such a great professor. She inspired me to add a concentration in accounting to my major. She is so understanding and really wants to see her students succeed. She loves participation and fosters a safe talking environment.
Professor O'Kelly's class was so enjoyable and informative. She has a ton of experience in accounting and it definitely shows through her lectures. She is a sweet, caring woman that really wants to see her students succeed and will take the time to make sure that students really understand important concepts in the course, truly a great professor
Very understanding and knowledgeable teacher. Grading standards are clear, and preparation for exams is done really well. One of my favorite accounting professors hands down.
Truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She's very responsive to her emails, and makes it a point to ensure the whole class knows both her and the TAs have office hours. She happily takes time to respond to any questions in class. Very organized. Homework is due weekly, and is through the texbook. Absolutely loved her!!
i love peggy!! she was so sweet and absolutely amazing at explaining concepts when we were confused. every class, she'd take the time to check in with almost every student as while we were doing the in-class problems. i genuinely learned so much. she had her funny moments too, a queen
peggy is so so sweet!! she is an amazing lecturer and explains complicated concepts super well. she is available outside of class to help and explain in depth. she held extra office hours before each exam. the material and tests are hard but fair and there is a participation grade too. no graded hw, but def do it for practice! 12/10 recommend!!
I don't think I would have passed with any other professor. She is an extremely caring person and truly puts effort into every student. Her classes are a positive environment, and she will always be available to help you. She turned a relatively difficult class into a great learning experience. Love you peggy
There's a reason why there are so many great reviews of her. If I could have taken her for every single accounting class, I would've. I've never understood material the way I did when I took her class. Love her!!
There are many assignments and a lot of midterms and quizzes. She gives you the opportunity to receive good grades, but mainly if you study on your own and independently learn the topic. Her in class lectures are sometimes very brief and confusing. Overall amazing teacher and very patient. Goes out of her way to help a student if they need it.
Professor O'Kelly was kind and caring. I left the class feeling like I learned a lot. She taught the material we needed for the exams, and didn't make us memorize ratios/ parts of the course we didn't need to know
Professor O'Kelly was a very good teacher and offers a lot of outside help. The class material is difficult and it is not a easy class, but it is explained well and there is lots of materials provided to help.
ALOT of individual work, but I'm usually fine with that. However, she doesn't reall prepare you for the tests because they are always questioned weirdly, when you studied your ass off for them. She a nice person, but she talks rlly slow in class so context seems 1000x harder. I def think she could've prepared us alot better with practice questions.
Great teacher but the class was pretty difficult. She gives you a lot of resources to study and makes efficient use of class time.
Lowkey a harder professor, but the best one you will receive. You need to know the information taught in the class for future classes. She also won't let you slack off so be prepared for her class. Class is curved a little bit and extra credit is offered.
I failed ACCT 1201 the first time I took it, I got an A with Prof O'Kelly and it didn't even feel like trying. Amazing. 5 stars.
Professor O'Kelly was the lecturer (not facilitator) for my online accounting class and was really sweet. I wish she was the facilitator (Annie Witte) as she was pretty brutal/condescending/would almost go out of her way to not help.
Took her for 1201. there are 3 quizzes + 1 midterm + 1 final. ALL of that with homework due every Sunday and a 2 part group project. On top - attendance is marked and class participation matters. All exams are in person. She is a good teacher if you can keep up . You will miss homework at least one with no chances regrade.
This professor is really kind and she cares a lot about her students, however she's not a great teacher but her slides are good. The quizzes are really hard and long, so were the midterm and the final but there's a big curve.
FR2 is just hard. She's a great teacher and was very clear for what you need to know for the test. The class is very tough as it is the final acct class but it is rewarding to finish with her. The Project, Participation and HW grade act as a curve for your grade.
peggy was undoubtedly the best professor i've had at NU. im not math/finance-savvy but peggy held my hand and worked with me privately to make sure i succeeded as best i could. she is extremely supportive+a good prof. if you miss a lecture, you will fall behind. take good notes, and study the worksheets given in class bc its identical to the tests
Peggy is a great accounting teacher. FR2 is a pretty heavy course, but the exams/quizzes are easy if you can work through in class examples and the homework.
Peggy O'Kelly was easily one of the best professors I have had at Northeastern. She is understanding of students' outside circumstances and makes herself easily available for help. The content of the course is difficult but she clearly outlines expectations and ways to succeed in her class. She genuinely wants her students to succeed.
Professor O'Kelly's ACC1201 class is challenging but rewarding. She holds you accountable, but provides great resources. I found unstuck study really helpful for exam prep. Overall, a tough but worthwhile class.
Well-spoken, knowledgeable teacher who cares about her students and will take the requisite time to explain things personally. Lots of office hours, TA office hours, and stays after class. I found reading the chapter before class very helpful but I know a lot of people who didn't and still did well in the class. Would take again.
I love Prof. Peggy! The class itself is difficult (content-heavy and fast-paced), and my top recommendation is that you read the textbook before class lectures. Do practice problems as much as possible; that'll help most with quizzes and exams. Peggy is so sweet and extremely helpful with answering questions. Difficult class, but great professor!
Lectures go by really slow and makes concepts harder than they are. Doesn't curve anything but will drop your lowest quiz score (only 4). Read the textbook and pray that's enough.
Don't take Acct 1209 asynch in a half summer class if you plan on doing anything else during those months. Condensing this regular class into 2x speed and offering it online seems nice in theory, however by the detailed math nature of the class, in-class Q/A time and days to study/learn the concepts is just missed in this format : (
I would die for her, quizzes are more exam "quizzam" as she calls em but like super fair where nothing is blindside but you should def know if you paid attention. Textbook lowkey doesn't matter if you can follow lectures and in class assignments. Show up only on lectures and solid 60 guarantee on any quiz TwT.
Peggy is really kind and shows a lot of care for her students. Her explanations always break things down in really simple ways that are easy to understand. This was easily my favorite class this semester despite it being an 8 am. The 8 am part is kinda rough, but honestly I think if there is a professor worth taking that early it's definitely her.
