Ah, Line ah' dot line. She's one of those teachers that is very energetic but can become an uber %&*#@ at a moment's notice. The class is worth taking however. No papers, just be prepared for endless powerpoint presentations and notes.

She is probably one of the best professors at Delta. She is always there to help you. Her class is not boring, like i had expected. She has a great sense of humor. Just make sure you're a Cal fan and you know the differenence between a monkey and an ape..

What can I say, I'm a Cal fan and she's a Cal fan. We got along fine. Her class is straightforward and she tests what she lectures on. Just don't wear anything red. (It's an evil color anyway).

very baised on grading. I wrote out cheat cards for two, one for me and one for a friend. Wrote out exact same answer, maybe an and, or, is here and there difference...I got docked 5 pts. while he got full credit. Monkey lecture is the best.

I'm a Creationist but I still enjoyed her class, though I disagree with evolutionary thought. I didn't like some of her comments but when serious she was pretty unbiased. Tests were fair (essay and MC) and lectures held your interest. Learned a lot!

She was a different teacher, but a really great one. Anthropology has all the potential to be a boring class, but this was one I looked forward to going to. She changed paces and all the notes were in her lectures, so if you show up and date your notes, you will get an A on the tests.

made a boring subject into something worth learning about. i've never missed a class. yes, she was that interesting! passes out good study guides and helps you if you need it. tells you what you need to know by telling you to highlight the certain keyword. i loved her. she's too cool.

A must take teacher. Took her summer school classes=a breeze! By the end you wont ever want to hear another word about Cal. She's incredibly funny and makes the material easily understandable. So laid back and I loved giving her a hard time for playing favorites (she dosen't by the way). Loves teaching and is fair, we need more teachers like her.

this lady is like the nisest and probably one of the easiest professors i have had at my time at delta so far she is hella nice and friendly with students while preparing before class which is so cool she gets their early so u aint gotta freeze ur ass off waitin for class like with some professors and lets not forget she is a crazy ass CAL bears fan and so ami so she kinda likes me haha

Learned so much from her, and about CAL. hehe lol. Well SHe was a great teacher and loves what she does, so it makes is easy to learn and go along the whole semster.

There is a total of 4 tests and 1 final. She drops one test. She lets you use 2 note cards on the tests making her easy. She makes anthropology interesting and easy to understand. IF you are taking anthropology, she is a must take.

Dr. Scully is a very open-minded and seems to care grately about what she does. One word. AWSOME! Okay, a little more than one. She's a great teacher, who knows what any anthropologist with a PhD should know. If she doesn't know, she'll find out for you. She loves Cal State, so if you have another college favorite, take this class just to tease her. Her non-official motto is "I'm paid to teach, so you're not bothering me."

Skully is a phenomenal teacher, and was very clear in her explanations. If you hate corny jokes, however, be wary.

you must pay attention to her "cheap..this might be a short answer" copy everything on the slides..USE THE 3X5 INDEX CARD..IT WILL HELP YOU PASS THE TESTS.

I thought she was an awsome instructor. She gives a lot of hints in her lectures so pay attention and take notes. You shouldn't sign in your friends it could put her in a bad mood and she won't allocate extra credit points.

big cal fan. if u take all notes and take note of the "star by it highlite it, underline it's" and the "cheep cheeps" then squeeze all review questions on index card, u'll DEF. pass the class. she gives quiz "hints" which are actually the 5 questions for the quiz next day so just read the article and find the answers. i got a 100%

1. Shes a great person. Funny, friendly. Throws Berkley pictures in the slide shows. Asks questions on the test about Berkley (bonus points) 2. Her class is hard and requires A LOT of studying. She gives you so much information that its almost too much for a semester. Should figure out a way to teach so that she doesn't overwhelm students w/ info.

Dr. Scully is a funny teacher. Her class isn't complicated at all and she wants students to succeed. She's a good choice when picking a Bio Sci class.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Lecture is pretty long so buy a recorder so you won't miss when she gives hints that's on her exams. She's very enthusiastic and makes you want to learn. Very down to earth. Easy going class. Lecture class can be difficult if you do not study or at least use your 3x5 card she allows you to use. You can pretty much pass the class if you absorb the review sheet she gives, everything on there is on the test, so you can't lose. Same goes for her Lab. Overall, she's awesome and is always there for you.

Take the lab with her but take the lecture with Otte. Trust me, that way you will find it even more interesting. Dr.Scully is cool, but I do not think she the best Prof I have ever taken.

Shes a good teacher i only took anthro cause i had too she gives you hints on what's going to be on the test. If you go to the lecuture you really dont have to read the book You can use a 3x5 on tests i suggest taking both lad and lec it will make it alot more easier..lec a little harder you just have to put in the time to study.

Prof. Scully is great! I learned a lot from her lectures. All of the answers on the exams come from her lectures, so be sure to attend them. The lab class is slightly easier than the lecture. But I still recommend this course as well.

Fantastic teacher. I would recomend her for just about anyone. she will spend as much one on one time with you as nessesary. Tests are easy as you can use a notecard and the class overall is very easy. I missed almost 3 weeks of school towards the end and still got a B. but the ease of class does not lessen the learning. Prof. Scully is amazing and very helpful. the textbook is not really needed at all. i didn't even read anything in mine. i received an A by going to class, taking notes, and just listening. all the tests are from her lecture, so going to class is much needed. i highly recommend this class!

She is a wonderful, tough instructor, however, I do encourage you to take her class, it will prepare you immensely for tough upper division classes. She challenged me beyond belief, I struggled at times and proudly earned an A. Don't be late, leave early, chat during class or text. She (rightfully) won't stand for it. Great sense of humor too!

Very clear. Will repeat 1000 times over if you wanted (except she may bite after the 30th time). She'll bend over backwards just to help you because she loves this stuff. Most certainly one of the best teachers I've had at Delta. Very passionate about the subject matter and very knowledgeable. I loved looking at all the skulls in the lab room and even though I was not taking the lab class Dr. Scully was kind enough to let me stay and look at the skulls and draw them. The articles from the reader may be dull but she gives you hints for the quizes. The comments that rate her as poor make me laugh. Seriously, if you want to be successful and if you actually study and work, you will pass her class with an easy B at least. Cool professor. This course does requires a lot of memorization but the teacher lets you know what to expect on the test. In fact, hands out study guide really early before each test. She's really helpful and doesn't mind answering questions.

Scully Linder is just about my favorite damn teacher at SJDC! Half way in I had an F because I suck at biology. After that its all monkeys and primates and I got a B. She let me come in and quiz & question me. I would not have passed if not for her help. Period! She loves her job & wants you to succeed! She also has a great sense of humor. AWESOME!

You have to attend class and you MUST be ON TIME. She will lock the door. This teacher is straight forward, she gives clear review questions at the begin of the unit which will be on the test. She gives hints for the quizes and extra credit oppurtunities for random days which she checks attendance. Her notes are easy to understand. I recommend her!

Professor Scully-Linder is quirky, fun, entertaining and is crazy about Cal! Take this class and you'll know what I mean. Attendance is mandatory, you MUST be on time or she'll lock you out! She's a fair grader - take good notes, tests are based on her lectures. Love her energy! She's amazing!

Great class. It was well-organized, informative, and relatively easy. As long as you have all the notes and do the study guides then the tests are easy. There are four tests and one research paper (relatively hard) and tiny quizzes. Dr. Linder is really helpful and enthusiastic about her subject. Overall, I recommend this class to anyone.

This class is great and a bit harder than her lecture class. There are about three tests, in-class practice quizzes (don't count for anything) and one paper. It has a lot of terms and memorization but overall, it has been easy as long as you study for tests.

Ive taken over 200 units from 4 different colleges/universities and her style of teaching has been one of my favorites.I think all classes should be taught/structured the way she does her's. Actually got me interested in a subject that I had no interest in prior to taking her class.

I loved Dr. Scully! I never looked at the clock in her class. She loves corny jokes and likes questions. Don't talk or interrupt her lecture! The test material is clear and easy if you study. Everything on the test is from lecture notes. She's enthusiastic and loves it when you laugh at her jokes. I would definitely take a class with her again!

Very clear about what will be on exams. Clear expectations. Interesting lectures but not the best with technology, if the computer is not working or a vid must be played it can be a bit stressful.

GRATE professor! Her lectures are clear, insightfuland, and funny. The homework is easy if you do it right and actually read. She only assigned one essay. As long as you show up, pay atention, and do your homework the tests are a piece of cake. Shes helpful, clear, and just overall a great professor.

The textbook isn't required. I bought mine for the class and I didn't open it once. She refers to it a few times, but her lectures are thorough and clear that you don't need it to understand things. The lectures are very important because it's basically her giving the answers to the test and study guide. She's a very easy grader.

I have Scully-Linder for Anthro 2 and 2L, and she is so helpful. Before we start lecture for each unit, we are given a review sheet, and during lecture she tells us specifically what number on the review sheet the information corresponds to. In Lab, we are given time for self-study with the bones, and she comes around to check our understanding.

If you need Anthr2, take Scully-Linder, best professor hands down! She is charismatic, funny and makes lectures fun and engaging. Her exams aren't too bad if you dedicate the time necessary to study. She is a bit of a tough grader and is strict with attendance, BE ON TIME! literally gives away all exam questions just listen for the chirps. Go Bears

It's really not that difficult. She lets you use a notecard on ALL the tests. She gives you a study guide for each test and then gives you the answers during the lecture, so make sure you have a friend of you miss. You have ONE big paper. She's hilarious and always incorporates "Cal State" into lectures.

Professor Scully Linder is an absolute "Saint"!! She does not want you to fail her course and will do whatever it takes to assist you with passing!! I was failing this course until she started assisting me with passing. I finally passed with a "B". Unbelievable!!

Dr. Scully-Linder is the BEST professor! If you need help, she's there to help you in anyway. You can miss 2-3 classes, I wouldn't miss more than that. She gives study guides for the 4 tests and drops one of the lowest scores, allows 1 notecard for the tests(BE SURE TO STUDY!). Theres only 13 homework assignments, the textbook isn't required/needed

This will be the hardest 1 unit that you'll ever earn but if you review the study guide and use class time to have her quiz you on the material, you'll pass with a breeze! There are only four tests(3 worth 100 pts. & 1 worth 40 pts.). She offers 10 pts extra credit on all of them and there's one essay, the primate report, where you go to the zoo.

Bruh! She talks for like 10 hours every class period and its soooooo boring. However she is very informative and tends to give u hints regarding upcoming test

She is very strict about showing up on time, and will lock the door and ignore knocks once class starts. If you memorize the parts of her lectures she tells you to memorize you will pass with an A. No independent thought needed for this class at all. She does assign a research paper but her standards are quite low. My paper was bad and I got an A.

Expect a regular 3-unit class workload. Mostly you're just memorizing stuff but there's a lot to memorize. There's also a required primate report where you have to go to a zoo and write about the primates. She scheduled a class trip (transportation not provided) to the Sac Zoo which was a lot of fun. If you have a good memory you should get an A.

This class was rather hard,but I did earn a passing grade after all. Dr. Scully -Linder will give you help and clarification . There were 13 articles counted as quizzes in the syllabus, 4 Exams on notes, 1 was dropped and the final was Exam 4. She considers herself mean but is really nice and will do anything to see her students succeed .

Prepare to hear some of the funniest lame jokes known to delta studen including: "D'oh! Chocolate donut!", "Biology braniacs, sit on your hands!", "Don't get your panties in a bunch!", and "50 lashes with a whip noodle!" . Besides that, scully-linder is a really warm and caring professor. Her tests are based from notes so be there or have a buddy.

She is an amazing professor and I love the way she teaches. She tells you exactly what you need to know for tests and gives precise direction which I really like. The curriculum is hard sometimes but I have taken her for two different classes now and if I needed another class that she taught I definitely would take her again!

Professor Scully was awesome! She is so passionate about anthro and archeology, so it's kinda fun to hear her talk during lecture and lab. She loves questions, so never be afraid to ask. Yes, this class was difficult but if you do the work and study, you will pass.

Her class is very clear and to the point. Listen to her when she talks she will tell you what you need to know for the test and the secret to her class is to follow the study guide that she provides, its like having a copy of the test, She will help you with anything. Take her great teacher

Cheap books/workbooks. Really nice and enjoyable teacher, but if you're gonna take the Lab class, then be prepared for a workload and I hope you have good memory. It's very difficult to remember 100+ terms and having to identify which part of the body it is. I'm not over exaggerating either. Only one month in and it's stressing, upcoming test.

This is lecture-heavy, but the study guides tell you exactly what's on the test. Scully-Linder really cares about the subject matter; while her slide shows aren't the best, the way you'll understand is by actually listening, not just copying down what's there. Kind, funny, accessible, and gives so much extra credit during tests. Minimal homework!

Not gonna lie, this lab requires a lot of memorization (skeleton, processes, etc.), but she gives a clear expectation of what she wants. Lots of class time to study the bones/ask her or her lab assistants a ton of questions! The lab manual serves as the textbook, and it's easy to follow along with. Be prepared to review outside of class too.

You don't need to take the lab to pass this class. You can take just the lecture class. All her tests are based off of her powerpoints and she also gives handouts telling you what is going to be on the test so all you really have to do is show up and take notes. There's not much homework and in all honest, you don't really have to read the textbook

Dr. Scully-Linder is a fantastic professor with an experienced voice in her lectures. She is an extremely passionate, funny, and witty educator with time for her students both current and past. I highly recommend this professor if you are looking to challenge yourself, commit and engage in the material.

Took her lecture and lab seperately. But absolutely love her class. She will be retiring soon. I highly recommend to take this course with her. You will find her humoring and very engaging. She loves what she is teaching and will help you no matter what. Don't miss lectures and do the work !

Dr. Scully-Linder is a brilliant Anthropologist with a wealth of experience and knowledge into the field. She has an amazing approach to lectures (the information is all relevant on tests) while simultaneously throwing in the occasional dad joke for good measure. She is extremely helpful to students who reach out to her. I highly recommend her!!

Scully is a great professor. If you can handle coming to class, lame dad jokes, and an enthusiastic bears fan you'll pass. The lecture was fairly easy just do the articles (super easy) and listen when she says something will be on the test. Lab requires more work but if you let her help you then you'll pass.

Absolutely love Scully. She's incredibly intelligent and she genuinely cares about her students and the subject. That being said - Her. Tests. Are. Really. Hard. If you want a decent grade, she will make you earn it - never think that you can pass her test without some serious studying. You need the article book - you don't need the textbook.

Dr. Scully is in my top 3 favorite professors here at Delta. She has a plethora of knowledge and covers everything you need to know. You get plenty of in-class study time if you don't skip class. Tests are very straight forward, clear cut copies of the study guide. Extra credit given on tests. You need the lab book, only $7. One of my fav classes.

The way she structures and presents/conveys the curriculum is the most effective method that i encountered in my 8 years of higher education.
