I am appalled at how the other poster rated Ms. Major so negatively. She is super nice, smart, and helpful. She wants students to learn. Her tests are usually group tests and the assignments are usually internet enhanced. If that person can't pass her tests, that is sad. The final was even easy. I really enjoyed her class!

Ms. Major is the best geology teacher I have ever had. She is very helpful and amazingly nice. Most tests are group tests. As long as you go to class and do HW you will get an A. And the text book is online for free.

She is hilarious! I love her class. She gives Group tests! Makes things very easy for her students. Just take notes and do work. Not hard class just take good test review notes and you should be fine. Grades easy.

Great Prof. Taking her again in the fall. Show up, do the work you can make an A. She is a little disorganized and she doesn't provide a lot of notes, but she applies Geology to everyday life.

Second class with her. Shes great and funny. I would take her again if I needed her third class. Tests are easy and usually with partners. The class material is a little dull mostly fossils and prehistoric times. She has random extra credit opportunities. Textbook used little. Very little homework

miss penni major totally rocks! she is the most interesting proffessor i have ever met and definately knows her stuff! she always has interesting videos and as long as you attend class you will make an "A". She tells you everything on the tests as long as you study what she says you will do great! she is almost always in a great mood too.she rocks!

i took her for geology and now im currently taking her class for environmental science and i love it. im not a science person really but she makes it very interesting and class is never dull. i would definately recommend her anyday! you rarely use the book and there is hardly any homework and easy projects. you will learn alot,& easy "A".

The only thing that is tough about this is studying the rocks. Other than that, this class is pretty easy. Just attend class, take notes, do your work,and you'll past.

Professor Major is an awsome teacher. She has a unique sense of passion for what she teaches and just mainly wants to share it with others through her classes. Pay attention, turn in assignments even if the answers are wrong and you will get credit for trying. Everyone is involved in class and works together for almost everything- tests included!

This was a very nice class. The teacher is nice and funny. Some of the questions on the tests might be a little tricky, but if you talk to her about it and she sees your logic, she'll give you the credit for some "wrong" answers. The only really hard thing is the rock project, it should be optional. Overall a very nice professor. I reccomend her.

This teacher is real nice, I thought her tests can be tricky because she says she doesn't believe in Multiple Choice questions. So she has alot of fill in the blanks, Word association which I hated so much, and usually always an essay question. attend every single class too because she always gives in class assignments, but barely any homework.

Ms. Major is an OUTSTANDING professor. I wish she taught every subject because I would pick her every time. Her classes were very interesting and I looked forward to them. I received an A and studied very little because her lectures rock (no pun intended lol). No death by power poin.Take her class! You wont be dissapointed. Super sweet as well.

Nice Professor that wants each student to participate in class. Lots of daily work, but nothing super hard. As a few have mentioned the tests are easy, but you can not just blow off studying. *Come on, it is college and you need to put in a little but of effort. I got an A, found P. Major to be very sweet, and am taking her for GEOL 1404.

Prof. Major is exceptional at what she does and has a true passion for it. As long as you take notes and show up to class and study, you'll make an A! You get what you put in! She will also always be there for you if you have any questions or need help!

This Professor is tough!! not in a bad way. She is funny and gives a lot of feedback. She makes the course look easy but remember if you wanna an "A" you have to work for it. Make sure you go to class. I thought I was gonna make a B or C but I did pretty well. You need to work your way to get the A. Don't fear she is very good

RMP lied, made it seem like everyone gets an "A", truth is only the "A" students rate, i asked the professor and the average is 10% get "A's". your test answers can be correct but you might still fail the question, you need to implement critical thinking in your answers. She is the best at linking the chapter topic, always exciting in class. got A

Such an easy teacher. Very lenient grader, and the assignments given are always so simple. Now this is not to say she isn't a good teacher because she most definitely is. Puts reviews up for the tests which are very clean and clear. Thoroughly enjoyed this class. (P.S. We finished at least 30 minutes early every day!)

I expected to get an A in this class (made 98's on all the exams) There was one group project however(BE SURE TO BE ABSOLUTELY MEMORABLE IN THAT GROUP DYNAMIC) She didnt even know I was thereremember me presenting& had no grade for me for the longest time- until finally she pulled a "72" out of nowhere. totally messed up my average. Made a B

Good professor. Test and Exams are NOT multiple choice. This means you have to literally write out the answers on paper. You have to read really hard to be able to pass especially because there is no multiple choice on any exam. She is very helpful too. Attendance is compulsory.

Great teacher, absolutely loved her. Her tests are all fill in the blank though so no scan trons. You have to be sure to study but all the reviews are posted on the learning web and if you follow that you will be fine. She is willing to work with you and help you if you talk to her. Professor Penni Major is a good teacher, she makes the course fun to learn. The good thing about the course is that it is more of practical. The tests may be a bit hard, but it's achievable as long you pay attention in class.

She knows what she is talking about and makes the class interesting. From what I remember, she rarely gives out homework and no textbook is required. Attendance is mandatory (don't be late or she takes points off in the end)!! Also, no multiple choices on exams! Get ready to think! It is a great class, and I suggest taking it if you need credits.

Just show up and do your part. People who are complaining about the presentation are just pure lazy. Its not even that long and can be put together at the last minute lmaooo. Professor Major really knows what she's talking about and she tells you exactly what's going to be on the tests. Lots of homework grades, three tests, no midterm, one final and one group project. Her tests are all fill in the blank but she does give reviews that help! She's awesome and super flexible!

Shes cool & is very helpful. Even gave me her personal phone number in case of emergencies. Answers all my questions when I emailed her, and is very knowledgeful in this subject. I love this teacher! Don't let her catch you on your cell phone during class. She gives you all the material you need to take her tests, so make sure you study hard. Her main thing is making sure you understand the material. ATTENDANCE is apart of your grade, She offers extra credit. If you wont be in class email her, she is very understanding

Super sweet, environmental obsessed, professor. She is very kind and caring and cares about each student as long as you try. She is very understanding but lecture heavy. There's a bunch of busy work, that she actually grades, but I think over all it ends up helping your grade out if you do it. Probably wouldn't take again but I do recommend her.

Her class is reallyyyyyyy easy. You go over lecture and then do some worksheets after over what you just learned. The worksheets are super easy and she also lets you work with partners and use your phone or computers to finish the worksheets. Tests aren't multiple choice but if you study then they are not hard at all.

Professor Major was wonderful! Her lectures were full of amazing material and you can tell she really likes what she does! She gave us weekly assignments which were pretty short and easy. Her tests are a little challenging because they're fill in the blank but just download the powerpoints from canvas and use your notes and you'll be fine.

This class is very easy to pass by showing up to class and looking at her powerpoints before take quizzes and exams. Attending is a must for participation. I made the mistake of missing a couple of days and put my grade down a bit.

40 homeworks in 16 weeks. Answers to homeworks are on the powerpoints. Tough grader on the written exams since she personally grades them. Exams are both written and multiple choice. Needed a printer for one of the exams. Lockdown browser is NOT necessary. extends the time for exams if you need it. Attendance is part of the grade. Very informative.

Professor Major is professional and expects the student to be prepared and study. The exams was lockdown, timed, with no going back, mixed with fill in the blanks. Tough way to take a test but if you study you got it. Gives quick feedback. I would take a course from Prof. Major again. Take the class serious and you won't have a problem.

Professor Major was very kind and was eager to answer questions and help us understand everything. However, tests aren't multiple choice and the professor gives very little time, also lots of assignments every week. She offers extra credit opportunities that are very helpful.

Professor will help you if you need anything. Gives a lot of different homework but they help you prepare for what the test would be like. The tests are all short answer with some true/false and had short time limits, but if you study the lectures well then answering them won't be bad. She's very nice and gives extra credit to help boost ur grade.

Her work was extremely easy, and she sets expectations beforehand. Provides all materials for the assignment. Nothing to complain about she is awesome! She does get overwhelmed by grading so many assignments but it is not her fault. If you are savy with all the internet resources available these days in 2024, this will not be a problem for you.

Her grading might be a little harsh especially with what answers she is looking for (Tip: Include EVERY INFORMATION that is given to you from your modules to your assignments). The tests are timed, but the questions are straight forward (could be hard too). Honestly, this class is pretty easy and I recommend her for anyone else.
