great teacher, funny, very clear on assignments, helpful

Don't TA for her, she's psycho.
She's a funny and good teacher, but don't ask her for any help outside of class. Go to her TAs for help.

Don't talk in class but buy the notes book--best 20 bucks I ever spent
Great experience!
Funny in class. Rude outside of class.
Class was fun to attend and she makes learning Psyc fun.
This teacher makes psychology interesting. I really like her teaching style, but man I would HATE to know her out of class. There's a difference with being direct and honest with people and being an outright ****, I would never slap my friend's kid!! LOL
Dr. Seibert is totally awesome and totally hot.
Gives a great understanding of pyschology
Easy class but, I'd pick a different prof if I had to do it again.
Knows A LOT about the subject. But, even though she was funny, I still fell asleep during her class quite a bit. She totally isn't easy to talk to, though.
Love her teaching methods, down to earth, easy tests for me at least. very interesting
There is a reason that she has a list of people every semester to get into her class. One of the best teachers i've ever had.

Phenomenal Prof. but don't go to class to sleep or screw around. She has alot to share if you just pay attention. A little crude at times but it helps to keep most student's attention.
i loved her. she was funny..but i recomend not missing class. you miss a lot of info
Sorry again kids, I can't say that she's hot. That'd just be weird.
funny and smart. very entertaining. but kind of scary on a personal level

PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. It'll come back to haunt you if you don't.

I must say that being a freshman and attending this class was the greatest adventure ever. She is so funny. Trust me all you have to do is go to class and pay attention and you will past because she makes everything pretty straight foward. That's one of the best classes I've taken this semester
She is..funny I guess, but she is rather arrogant.
This was the easiest class ever. All you have to do is go to class. In fact a few times we got extra credit for just being there that day. She is kinda strange but pretty funny. All around it was an easy A and entertaining
Don't take this b**** for any class. She is mean, just downright mean. She thinks a lot of herself. Go to her for help outside of class and you'll get yourself chewed out or made fun of. Arrogant. Thinks she's God's gift to psych. Don't do it.
She reminds me of Liza Minelli. Always talking about martinis. Seems arrogant in front of the room and rude when you talk to her outside of class. No mercy for people who don't turn in their homework. Proceed with caution.
Don't try to get too into the class or you'll feel unsatisfied at the end of the day. She really is all about herself and its cool if you're ready to be an observer of the class. She's funny and most classes are entertaining. Didn't get much out of the class, but it was fun for the most part.
I loved this class. All you had to do was show up, listen, and read through the main points in the book. She won't lecture from the book, but there will be some test questions that will come from there. She expects adults to take her class so if you want to act like a child take someone else. She is blunt so if you can't handle honesty stay away.
Very entertaining class. Make sure you attend the lectures, that's where she takes the majority of test questions from. Make sure and purchase her suppliment from the bookstore and if you need help try getting assistance through a TA first.
This was an extremely easy class. I actually have a 100% in it with four classes left. This is thanks to 9 extra credit points that were handed to us for going and 10 points for doing an easy extra credit packet. Tests are easy and class can be entertaining even. She is a funny prof with a good attitude.
Amazing teacher, best I've had at BSU. For people who complained she was rude they are just too sensative and need to realize that she was doing what most teachers can't...keeping the classes attention, I almost want to take the class again just to be in it again, amazing!
Excellent instructor! I would pay to see her act in a comedy club. This is definitely her class and she does things her way (which seems fair to me). It's fun and you learn the basics about psychology. She's confident and doesn't tolerate disrespect. If you show up and pay attention, her tests make total sense. Highly recommended!
Not a bad prof but quite arrogant which seems to get in the way sometimes. She puts very random stuff in tests to catch the non-attendees. Go to class and you'll be OK.
HILARIOUS! if you want a good laugh take this class.you won't want to leave.if you are easily offended or a goody too shoes...don't take the class. attend class and get the book of notes. you won't need the text book at all.AWESOME PROFFESSOR!
She is GREAT!!! buy her book of notes it makes life easy. go to her class everyday as she gives pop quizes that is just writing ur name and student ID# which help ur grade a lot. Her tests r a little hard. she gives four tests total of about 25 multiple choice ?'s. i got C's on all four. do the journals, overview cuz i ended up with an A in class cu
I thought she was entertaining, but was a bitmuch at times. You will be ok if you study a bit and go to class. However, BE WARNED she does not accept late assgnments. My grandfather died, I missed the class in which our final Journal Project was due and she would not accept it. Dropped my grade from A- to C. Let's just say I was a bit bitter.
I LOVE her. She is hilarious and keeps lecures entertaining. Offers a ton of easy a's and extra credit opportunities. Buy the book of notes because she doesn't stay on the slides long enough to write everything down and the book will make your life easier. Her tests are easy if you study for them and she gives a few sample questions before the test
She is OK and that is about it. You cannot miss a class or you get pretty far behind because she puts a lot of stuff that happened in class on the tests. The book of notes helps, but is not that great. She is very into herself and very self-absorbed, if you ask her something outside of class she makes you feel stupid. I would recommend Debbie Barvo
She was really great. Her lectures were very entertaining and made me like going to class. Be careful, her tests have a lot to do with lectures. reading through chapters didn't seem to prepare at all. Although attendance isn't mandatory, if you want to get better then a low D on the test you should go to class.
she is an AMAZING teacher. but the tests are tricky, and you NEED to go to class. she covers a lot of material, and if you miss even one day you'll mis a TON of information. she has a great sense of humor and personality, and you will learn a TON from her class. TAKE IT TAKE IT TAKE IT!
Pennie was halarious. She's really funny and class is entertaining. She has a fowl mouth and is about as politically correct as a 95 year old man. If you get offended easily, she's not the teacher for you. She randomly gives out points if you show up to class, so make sure you show up. You don't need the text book.
this was one of my favorite classes so far! she was hilarious and would probably be offensive to some, but i thought all of it was funny. shes good at teaching you what you need to know and her lectures prepare you for the tests completely. easy to remember information because of the stories that she tells with the topics she brings up.Recommended!
Hilarious. Uses several different teaching methods every class to keep us focused. I didn't study too much and ended up with an A+ in the class. GO TO CLASS. Also, don't be even a minute late to class or she's make an example of you. Great sarcasm and wit and definately a fun environment. I loved the class and would recommend it to anyone.
Penni was a great teacher. She always could put a smile on my face. She explained things very clear and made them relateable. She is also very clear what is required out of her class. Read the book it will help with the tests. She gives quite a bit of extra credit for attending class. My advice is do not miss you get so much out of her lectures.
Dr. Seibert is so awesome! She knows how to teach so well and i have already learned so much in that class, it is relatable and is the one class i actually want to go to every week, she makes the material very enjoyable and interesting to learn, she is also very hilarious and going to class is so fun
Dr. Seibert is a great lecturer. She makes the text look easy. Well educated Doctor in Psychology. Class is not mandatory but she will give attendance pop quizzes through out the semester that are worth some points. Tests are really clear as long as you go to class. Would recommend with an A+.
Pennie is legit! This is the one class that I look forward to going to! Her lectures are interesting and she knows when they get boring and will say some outrageous things to keep people engaged. I've gotten Cs on my tests but have an A+ in the class b/c I did all the extra credit. You will learn a lot! I'll be taking more classes from her!
Pretty fun - you have to go to class. Tests can be hard because you have to remember random comments that are made in class. She does it to make sure you go to class -but it makes it hard to study. Overall she is fun - I didn't work too hard, and thought I was going to get a C, but I got a B.
I found Seibert's lectures to be clear and her tests were easy if you studied what she told you to. If you have a 6-9 pm class, she would usually let you out at 8. The only thing that annoys me about her is that she is hard to get in contact with.
Pennie is great! She is super funny and always keeps the class interesting. The tests can be difficult but it is not all of your grade. If you do decent on the tests and complete all of the other work you can still get an A. Overall, she is a wonderful professor.
Makes class entertaining and interesting. She really knows her stuff and is pretty ballsy too. She has surprise pop quizzes which do help your grade. She is truly a great professor.
Pennie is outrageously inappropriate, so if you don't like that kind of thing I wouldn't recommend her class. If that DOESN'T bother you she's a wonderful teacher! She'll keep you engaged the whole semester. She even had applause from our 300 person class on her last day. I'd take her again in a heartbeat.
Her "txtbook" is actually a book of lecture notes for the entire semester. Siebert makes the class very easy to understand, and she is hilarious! I loved this class. I only got a C, but if you put effort into it then you should pass with an A.
I was a TA for her and she rarely said thank you for all the grading we did and didn't even bother to ask our names. I got the impression that she's very arrogant and very insociable. TAing for her ruined it for me.
Pennie's been teaching at BSU for about 20 years now. She's obviously lost a lot of the passion she once had for teaching but nevertheless I loved her class. She's very witty and entertaining in ways that might surprise you. She goes through powerpoints quickly so buying her book of notes is highly, highly recommended. Great professor.
Dr. Pennie is so hilarious and it makes me sad i only have her class once a week. i look forward to going everytime and she always keeps it entertaining. You don't ever get bored and the material is not hard to follow because she makes it all interesting. I would definitely reccommend her because she's very funny and makes the class engaging. :)
Dr. Seibert is great!! She is halarious and you can tell she really enjoys the subject. GREAT teacher!
I loved her, she knew her material very well. Her classes are always interesting, she is not boring at all.
She did not seem interested in her class outside of the assigned class time. She made it very difficult to gain information from her TA's. And they also lost my roommate's test even though she took it and turned it in. They were not willing to let her make it up and gave her a 0 despite having taken the test.
Pennie is a very knowledgeable teacher and fun to listen to. Just make sure not to piss her off by talking in class or arriving even a minute late or you will get booted from the class and miss some important test information that is class only. I appreciated this of her as it killed disruptive students and I could listen in peace.
Pennie is very interesting and fun to listen to. She makes learning the material enjoyable & highly entertaining rather than mundane. She outlines her expectations clearly in the syllabus. If you keep up on reading, doing your journals, and studying her lecture notes you will do great...just don't be late for class =)
Pennie is a great teacher! She gets a lot of crap from students for being inappropriate, which she is, but she is still a great professor. Her lectures are very helpful and she is great at involving the class and making it fun. Would definitely recommend taking her.
Her class is not mandatory but half the tests rely on stupid in class discuissions. Her TA's are normally like trained lab monkeys (useless) and she likes to talk about genitals and margaritas in excess. Oh also her tests make no sense but other then that great class
I like the monkey comment regarding her teacher?s aids! I can see that point of view myself, but there is a reason for their droid like actions! Dr. S. wisely utilizes her staff to aid her in covert observations and interactions within her class. The first lesson is ?conditioning? of the classroom environment (I was amazed at how many students fai
Dr. Seibert makes the material extremely interesting and there was never a dull moment in her class. If you are one that doesn't like crass humor, she probably isn't the professor for you but her ideals on Freud constantly had me laughing. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I would take her class over and over again if I could.
I looked forward to going to her class all week. She is a good teacher as well as funny. She relates the text to her personal experiences and the exams will ask you about the personal stories she shares in class, so attendance is important. I recommend her to everyone!
she does not use blackboard which makes it difficult to remember what is going on in the class. also she gives you little to no credit for the amount of work she expects you to do
She is so funny and so interesting!! I wish I could take her for every class! Just make sure you're in class before she gets there or you won't be allowed in. =)
She is very funny. I enjoyed her class, and it wasn't terribly hard. All assignments are explained in detail in the syllabus, no surprises.
She is so funny, and very very very smart. I loved her sense of humor, though if you are a completely anti-swear word person, you might want to avoid this class, but its not that bad honestly. Awesome class, wish I could have her for all my psych classes
She is amazing. I can honestly say that I was dreading taking the class but she made it fun and interesting to learn. I am actually considering more classes taught by her in this field of interest. I definitely recommend her as a professor! She is a hoot! :)
Absolutely hilarious. You'll want to go just to hear her crazy stories and commentary. You will remember everything because there's a story to it all.
Awesome teacher! Attendance is not required but she does put Q's on the exams that have to do with class lecture (you won't find these things in the text). Buy the optional Book of Notes...they are very helpful when studying for exams. Majority of grade is based on exams but she does not try to trick you at all. She awarded EC for attendance also!
Very fun class - keeps the students interested and entertained. Don't take if you are easily offended by harsh language. Tests and material are very straightforward - buy the book of notes - has everything you need. Although it's a big class she does her best to answer questions and include students in the class.
LOVED Pennie! She was interesting to listen to in Lecture. It was easy to remember facts because she had stories and commentary for everything! Even though attendance wasn't mandatory, going to class was helpful in every way!
Awesome professor, and really knows her stuff. I didn't feel comfortable or able to contact her outside of class though, and there were some questions I had that the TAs couldn't answer. The tests weren't as easy as I thought they'd be, but going to the study sessions really helps.
Loved this class, Dr. Seibert made the material interesting. Make sure to attend class, tests have questions based on things that happened in class. Do the assignments to the guidelines in the syllabus and you will do well.
Makes class fun and she is hilarious but can offend people so don't take if sensitive. Must go to class but tests aren't too bad if you go to class and study wisely. Class is engaging she is a very good teacher!
My absolute favorite professor. She is amazing at what she does and makes class fun to attend. You can tell she loves what she does which is hard to find these days. I would highly recommend her to everyone needing to take any psych class. LOVE her!
Not a hard class if you attend every lecture. I definitely recommend buying the book of notes. Her test are very straight forward, and not very hard. She doesn't use BlackBoard, so you have to go see the TAs to find out your grade. I loved taking PSYCH101 from her.
Dr Seibert is very inappropriate and has her TA's do just about everything. That said, her tests are very easy and are over what she discusses in lecture and her power points. She just thinks she's the bee's knees and clearly only teaches so she can do her research. Do the work and ignore her behavior and disgusting comments and you'll do fine.
she is an awesome teacher! you get extra credit for going to class so you might as well go. dont bother buying the book but definitely buy the optional spiral notebook. she is a funny teacher and isnt afraid to say whats on her mind. she doesnt have a cumulative final, just another chapter test
Very funny teacher. lecture style class is easy to skip so be careful! very little homework but tests cover a lot of material so be prepared. she is very hard to contact but has many TA's that are available.
Dr. Seibert is a great teacher. Her lecture is very interesting and she has a great way of grabbing everyone's attention. If you attend class regularly and do the assignments, you will receive a good grade no problem
Very easy A. Very entertaining and keeps the class interesting. Minimal homework and if you go to class and have the book of notes memorized you will ace all the tests. Highly recommend this teacher.
Seibert knows what she is talking about, but lets you know how much you should appreciate her gracing you with her presence. She has an extremely strict late policy, which is ironic since she never showed up on time. The syllabus is the bible to her; follow it and don't bother emailing her. Your hw isn't read, only lines are counted.
Make sure you buy the book of notes (or if you make a friend the first day, make photocopies of their notes!) She knows what she's talking about, and is impressive, but she expects you to know a lot of material. HW isn't read through at all, tests are pretty hard, and she's strict, but she's smart and is a good teacher.
I was very interested in psychology before I took this class. Now I am not. Penny can be funny at times but rude at times as well. She is unclear about what is going to be on tests. Make sure to attend class (although its not mandatory) because she chooses random days to offer extra credit.
She makes it clear that she is a big deal in the Psych world and we should be blessed to be taught by her. But she knows her subject matter and makes lectures fun and involves the students. Sometimes she'll just leave a movie on which sucks. Good amount of homework that doesn't prepare you for tests. Overall a fun class though.
Pennie's class is an easy A. Read the book and show up to class and you will pass. A large majority of her test questions are from in class discussion so GO TO CLASS. She is interesting to listen to and really funny.
Pennie is kinda cocky and likes to use her power just because she can. It's annoying, but once you get past that, it's clear that she's a good professor and knows her stuff. GO TO CLASS. Some of the test questions are based off of specific things she discusses. If you go to class and do some studying, it's an easy A.
She's so awesome and funny. She really knows what she is talking about but if you get easily offended or are bad at taking a joke then you shouldn't go for her
Shes incredibly well organized. Shes fun and incredibly engaging in her class lectures. The major issues I had with this class is that it is only one day a week and she doesn't use blackboard which can make accessing certain videos from class lectures very difficult as she puts a lot of emphasis on these materials in her tests. Fantastic teacher!
Pennie is hilarious, and inappropriate, but great to listen to if you have a 3 hour lecture with her. Highly recommend - few assignments other than the tests. Love how she breaks the semester up in 4's, with the 4th unit being the 'final'. Read, and come to class and you'll at least get a B. Also offers XC pop quizzes randomly. Take her!
Seibert is hysterical. If you are a very "politically correct" person, don't take her class. She pushes boundaries sometimes, but is so much fun to listen too. Her 3 hour class is interactive with the way she talks. The grading criteria is super clear and her test require studying. She has a lot of TA's for out of class help too. BUY HER NOTE-BOOK.
Dr. Seibert is hilarious but if you are easily offended or have a small sense of humor she might not be the prof for you. You do have to attend class and the lectures are long.
Reading the book is expected and useful. Her lectures are very entertaining and informative. She talks about what will be on the exam and gives random "pop quizes". If you know your name and your STID you will receive 2 extra credit points. She's charismatic and has a huge personality. Attd is non mandatory but crucial. BE ON TIME
The majority of people love her. She is very funny but in a way that you will learn the material. Some days that we watched videos she wouldn't go to class and her Teacher Assistants would run the classroom.
Aside from Pennie being crude, she's hilarious. But she's a horrible teacher. She shows up, reads her lecture slides, and that's it. Her TA's do everything for her and it's almost impossible to ever know your correct grade. But, it's an easy class if you do all the work and don't skip a bunch. She puts a lot of in class stuff on tests. Is a hardass
You really need to study and attend class to do well on tests. Many tests have in-class videos on them, so be present. Also, don't ever be late. She won't let you in.
The tests are super easy, just show up to the lectures and turn in the homework and pay attention and you'll get an easy A.
Pennie is hilarious. She is extremely organized and everything for the semester is laid out in the syllabus. Most of the assignments are all or no credit. She offers extra credit randomly if you attend class. Attendance is not required but very much recommended. If you go to class you will get an A. Don't be late and BUY HER BOOK OF NOTES!!!
Overall a good experience, she doesn't rely on blackboard and it is really refreshing. If you go to class you will pass, but you have to be there. Tests are based off of in class discussion and out of class assignments, not just material she goes over.
Lectures are a must, but if you need to skip one or two it is not the end of the world. She is very old school such as if you aren't on time you can't come in and no late work period. She is very clear cut on her expectations and all assignments are explained in the syllabus. Awesome professor and makes lectures enjoyable. Would recommend!
Pennie is hilarious and I loved her class and would easily take it again! There are minimal assignments but when you get them make sure you meet the requirements. Tests are pretty easy. I love Pennie!
shes a really funny professor but had a crude sense of humor so she is an acquired taste for some. If you follow the syllabus on how to do the assignments then youll get full points but if you get one little thing wrong then you will get a 0. Her tests are also very tricky. Overall, if you can get a better professor, do it. If you cant, study.
I wish i was a psych major so i could take her again. Go to class, do the reading, be prepared and you will pass. this is not a class you can bs through. Take it seriously and follow the rubric and you can pass. awesome teacher and super funny. engage her and she will take interest in you.
+Enjoyable Lectures -Not very personal -Not easily accessible outside of class -Technologically inadept (does not use the Blackboard program) -ALOT of information to take in +Very interesting subject matter
Love Pennie! She is hilarious and makes lectures interesting and is also a genius so she knows her stuff! Class isn't mandatory but 50% of her test material comes from class examples so GO. Class only has a total of 165 points so every assignment is vital to a good grade. Only complaint is tests are tricky and difficult to study for.
Pennie was a wonderful professor. Made lectures interesting with decent student interaction and activities/displays that made content enjoyable and easier to learn for people of many different learning styles. She worked extensively with my extenuating court issues and always accommodated and was understanding. Minimal assignments and good lectures
great teacher, tests can be confusing but her book of notes helps so much
Dr. Seibert is an amazing teacher! She is an avid storyteller and extremely funny. She clearly loves her job and encourages students to take interest in psychology. Though you do not need to attend every class to pass, I definitely would recommend regular attendance for a possible grade boost!
One of the best teachers Ive had. Her lectures are interesting, not boring. She is super funny and really makes the information relatable. She gives you so many chances to get extra credit and get a good grade. She definitely cares about you understanding the material and you can tell she loves what she does. Just dont ever be late!
I took this as a 3 week course in 2016. Even though there is a lot of information to cover, it wasn't super overwhelming. Her book of notes was extremely helpful because I didn't have to write down the slides and just write down things when she discusses in-depth.
Dr. Seibert is entertaining and respected by a lot of her students. The only policy I didn't like was her mandatory "you can't leave once you're in class, and if you do, you're gone for the day". Not fun to deal with especially since she calls out students who are late, or who choose to leave in front of everyone and embarrasses them. Childish.
Great Teacher! She knows what she is talking about which makes lectures easier to get through. Tests are pretty easy If you put in the bare minimum. She gives out extra credit "pop quizzes" randomly in some classes which makes showing up to class beneficial. Assignments are not that hard and she cancels class to make up for time spent on them.
The best professor ever. Put in work and it's an easy A. Enjoyable class because of her sense of humor and she makes lectures super interesting.
By far the funniest & most entertaining prof I've had! She loves her job and wants everyone to pass, and you will! As long as you show up to class (in which there are random extra credit 'pop quizzes'), read, and pay attention! Especially during in class projects and demonstrations! But DO NOT SHOW UP LATE, you will be locked out!
Loved this class. Attendance isn't mandatory but often times extra credit was given to those who came. Highly suggest taking psych 101 with her. She had some funny stories and made the class go by fast.
Psychology is a prerequisite for a ton of majors and is often seen as a throw away class. However, I enjoyed this course more than any of my classes last semester. The tests are a mixture of lecture and textbook information, so they can be a little tricky if you don't do the reading. There was little to no homework, and Dr. Seibert was amazing!
If you show up and pay attention, you'll get an A. Quizzes are easy if you listen to her. Lots of support is offered in the form of pre-quiz review days and TAs. The classroom was very large and everyone would quiet down once she entered and the TAs shut the doors, I half expected the Imperial March theme to play. No-nonsense, but also very funny.
