I would definitely recommend taking her class! She has personal experience with a number of the sections that are taught and really seems to know her stuff. She also has good balance of lecture and activities, which keeps things interesting.

If you read the chapter beforehand, you'll get more out of class. Professor Bivens speaks from real life experiences. She knows what she is talking about explains everything so that it can be easily understood. She values participation and integrates comments into her teaching. You can tell that she wants you to succeed!

This was one of my favorite classes this semester. I really enjoyed Prof. Bivens lectures because she always tried to make us laugh with her business experiences. The class itself was a hybrid class where we came in for lectures and did all our homework/tests online which are pretty straight forward if you don't study don't expect a good grade.

The class isn't super hard, you just have to stay up-to-date on your assignments. All assignments are online but it's a good idea to be in class for activities and extra information on the modules. Penny was a good teacher and she responds to feedback/communication well.

Penny is a professional. She has worked in Communications her whole life and is great at it. I've loved having her because she is genuine in trying to help you understand the material. The class is heavy on group projects, but she is always there as a mentor to work out any issues you may have.

Penny is an amazing teacher!! She has so much real world business experience and ties that into lectures as much as she can. She is also very into group activities and classroom discussions and answers all questions, even if she has to go home and research the answers. All classwork was online. I would take this class again with her in a heartbeat!

If you decide not to go to class, make sure you pay attention to the syllabus so you won't skip an exam.

Upon entering my first day in class I was a little nervous given that I didn't know how class would be with Penny Bivens. My fear immediately dissipated; she ended up being a very great professor. There is a lot more homework then I ever planned; but it wasn't too hard. She gives good lectures, and encourages students to learn and participate.

Penny was an awesome professor. She is very understanding with work schedules and her style of teaching made class little more fun!

She is a great Professor. Classes usually start with a Kahoot Quiz followed by a long lecture. They are pretty interesting lectures, she tells cool stories about her personal business experiences. As long as you do the homework assignments you'll be fine!

Penny was amazing. I have accommodations with the disabilities center and she was great at working with me if I needed extended time on assignments or if I was unable to attend class. She made the class interesting and easy to understand the material, I feel like the class would have been extremely boring if I took it from a different professor.

I took BUS 1010 with her. Love her class!! She will answer any questions you may have. Showing up to class you will get participation points and a better explanation into what you're learning. It is an online-based class so all of the assignments and exams will be done through canvas. I will definitely take another class with her. Highly recommend

I loved Penny! She is super sweet, caring, and realizes people have things come up outside of class. There are a lot of documentaries to watch and there were supposed to be group projects but COVID happened. This class had a lot of real world applications and was definitely worth considering.

I loved taking Marketing/Human Relations it was a fun and easy class. If you show up, pay attention you pass, simple as that. The quizzes and homework are really easy but class participation is something you do almost every class, but its fun to participate if you're paying attention. Attendance and turning in your assignments on time is crucial in this class. You could technically still pass if you didnt show up at all and did all of your coursework, but it would truly take away from the experience and values of the lessons she passionately teaches. You can tell that she loves doing her job and she loves it when you participate in her discussion because she wants to know how you feel about it and what your thoughts are. The Professor is very organized and has set up clear expectations. Each learning module is very thorough and has assignments that help you learn. There is group work in this course but it is not very difficult and helps you use what you have learned in more of a real life situation.

Professor Bivens was a great teacher. I took MKTG 1050 from her. The only thing I didn't like was how she graded the discussions. It took me a few weeks to understand how she graded them.

I took MKTG-1480/sales. Penny is an amazing instructor and great at giving feedback. The class, was very reading and video intensive and the only downside to taking this online was dealing with other students and coordinating to get on a Zoom to do our role play assignments. Penny always wants you to grow and learn as a student!

This is actually for MKTG 1110 Marketing Content Strategy and Branding. I really enjoyed the course and have taken others like it, but the instructor made a huge difference this time. She provided great feedback, is a good communicator, and you can tell she cares about her students. If I take more BUS/MKTG courses I will take them with her.

I have taken Penny's courses multiple times. I have taken 3 classes with her and they have all been amazing. I enjoy every second in the class and am so grateful she conducts the class discussion in the way she does. I am always happy to absorb information through her teaching style.

I enjoyed taking this course online. Sometimes, when you take online classes, many professors lock the coursework, so you can not get ahead. She did not lock the assignments, so it was easy to work ahead. I ended up finishing early, but she does lock exams. Her grading and feedback were clear, and you get opportunities to get extra credit.

Penny is a great professor, she made lectures interesting and motivated each student to participate and we had weekly discussion these are important for the final paper and exam so defiantly recommend attendance even though its not required. Also exam is open book! You only have one late pass for hometown so make sure to turn in everything on time.

Professor Bivens was great! I had no issues in this class, the quizzes were easy and the answers easy to find in the text. There were a few longer assignments, including the final essay, but it was evident what we needed to do for each assignment. I feel like grading was fair and overall, the class was easy!

I previously rated this course a 2 and have revised it to a 4. Although I do still have complaints about a lack of clarity in assignments instructions. She was great at answering those questions and giving the information to succeed in the class.

This was a great class! If you put in the effort for this class you will do great. The readings provided are great for understanding the concepts and there are video lectures to help you further. Penny is overall the greatest professor I've had at SLCC. She is understanding and she is willing to help with anything you need. Be sure to look at the syllabus and plan ahead on the assignments. You don't need to attend class, but her lectures are very helpful when it comes to the exams.

I took Penny's Bus 2200 Course, it was not a class I wanted to take because it's a group project class. However The layout of the coursework is well thought out and makes it easy to follow through the whole semester. It made group projects not seem so bad. Ms. Biven is a tough grader. She lists her expectations, and she will let you know if you are not up to par. She is very well written and could easily be an English professor. Make sure to put in the work if you take her class.

I really like that she's evolving with technology instead of ignoring it or fighting against it. She showed us how to use AI as a tool rather than a shortcut. This class is a hybrid class; be prepared before coming to the in-person class. It's very project-heavy and groupwork-heavy. Penny is a bit of a tough grader, but she's very clear with instructions, so read carefully before turning your work in. Her feedback helps a lot with the project. Everyone gets one late pass, which helps with work.

Professor Bivens provides lots of thorough feedback on assignments. Shell provides extensive and individualized comments on your work, which I believe is very beneficial. I think the coursework is very reasonable and easy to follow.

The course learning material was mainly videos, so I recommend taking a few notes here and there. Sometimes assignment instructions were unclear, but a quick message to Penny and she happily clarified. This was a group-heavy class, so make sure you have the time to meet up once a week to get assignments done.

This is an online class, but close to every assignment has to be done in a group. Penny gives a ton of feedback, which is good, but her examples are way far off and are nothing like what needs to be done.
