If you are not ready to study and feel you are still in high school and need someone to nuture and hold your hand every step of the way, then don't take this class. Dr. devine gave us required class participation, volunteer hrs. and study material. I got an 'A' in her class because I did my homework!!! I was amazed at how many people didn't.

Great Person and great teacher. I got an A. I just done the assignments required. Attend all classes and pay attention. If you are lazy, then you will not do well, but all assignments are easy, just do them. She grades on a curve and is easy to deal with. This is college, not high school. Apply yourself and you'll do great in this class.

Had Dr. Devine for PSY 1012-- there is a lot of information, but I loved the class. She is very caring and always had time if I went to her office for extra help. Great teacher!

Had her for both PSY 1012 and DEP 2004. I liked both classes, but liked the DEP class more. I was hoping she taught another class at FCCJ. She makes the classes very easy to understand in your day to day life.

I really liked her class but when it came to the test I really hated it. She would say that information would be on the test that wasn't and if you just studied the notes you would be screwed. Read the text book for test she likes to choose random examples from the book and put them on the test!!!!

I really liked Dr. D's class, but sometimes the tests were hard. Thank goodness she curves and also has projects we can do that help get grades up. I should be getting an A!

Dr. D is a fun teacher who knows her stuff! I took her class and like some people have said, some of the tests are hard, but she gives you lots of ways to make up for test grades. I am taking her again next semester!

I actually liked going to class every week. She has a great sense of humor and she has a passion for psychology!

A very nice and engaging teacher. Her classes were always fun, and she'll give you a hand when you ask. She could sometimes trail off on an unrelated point. We NEVER got our grades when she said we would. We had to write five journals and do two presentations; mandatory community service, 10 hours. Lotsa extra credit. Would recommend her for psych.

I really enjoyed the class-- I agree that she can be slow on returning papers (but not slow on exams). She makes class entertaining and sometimes when it seemed like she was off topic-- it really DID relate to psychology! I think I liked those examples the best!

I took her during the summer for a hybrid class. All quizzes were online so you could use your book. Discussion Board assignments weren't fun but were easy to do. We had no papers or journals. Was willing to let you make up any work you missed.

Very nice professor; seems to care about her students. Slow to post grades, but if you ask for them she'll usually get them posted for you. Assignments are fairly easy and enjoyable. I plan on taking her for other classes as well.

This professor really cares. Her lecture style is colloquial. She is incredibly smart. She is supportive and helpful anytime. She makes herself very available. She discusses real world issues, like family, in order to show examples of the material. This is a class that you need to be self-motivated; she doesn't hold your hand. You are responsible.

This class was extremely easy.If attendance wasnt mandatory I wouldnt have come to class.She lectures from a powerpoint whuch is on blackboard.Assignments are easy and the final is volunteer work.

I did the hybrid version. Classes never involved notes, i never bought a textbook, missed several classes. The classes never lasted the entire time, ever. Basically if you do the online homework (which isn't due until the end of the semester, and only took me an hour to do) and do your service learning you'll get an easy A like i did too easy

Dr.D is great if you want to learn with a laugh, then take her class.. shes great and easy to understand. the only thing you may want to think about...is the service learning project between 10-15 hours!!! But it not hard.

Dr. Devine is a great professor. She teaches the material in a way that is easy to understand and her class discussions are entertaining. I do need to warn though that if covering all of the material is important be cautious. She often lets the class get carried away in discussions and skips chapters.

Penny is an alright instructor. You should pay CLEAR attention to the syllabus that is given to every student. STUDY FOR TEST, THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON TO FAIL. Her class involves an open discussion of the material present that day. She is horrible with replying to emails and posting grades as we complete assignments. Overall an Easy A. STUDY!!!!!

I took a hybrid course with Professor Devine. She is extremely friendly and very knowledgable. You read your chapters on your own. do online modules (optional) take chapter quizzes which are pretty simple and 1 article assessment. She's great for 1st semester students like me. everything is done through Canvas. Very easy grader!

Prof. Devine is a very easy person to get along with. Grades easy. You get extra credit for the learning modules if you do them and they really help with prepping for the quizzes. You have to do 15 hrs service learning but it's a great experience and the presentation counts as your final!

If you're more of a lecture person than a book person like me, you will love her class. (book is hardly req.) She's very funny and enthusiastic! Unfortunately, she's also disorganized and hardly posts grades up. Most of your grades will come from exams, but they're really not that difficult and you have an optional fourth! Overall, it's very easy!

Dr. Devine was so helpful to me at a really hard time. At first I found the online class confusing to get around, but she called me at home to explain it to me. I would have dropped the class if she hadn't explained the Blackboard to me.

This course was interesting and she made it fun. I made a B in the course, it's not hard at all. She offers extra credit and the learn smarts helped me study for the test. Cool professor and very laid back. Highly recommend.

I unknowingly took this course as a hybrid course, so it would have been nice to learn more in class. Devine is an exceptional professor. She is very smart, funny, and very caring of her students' success. If you're looking to take any psychology course, Devine should be your first choice.

Completed spring term and this class was not hard at all. You just have to participate in discussion board, take the quizzes, instructor's choice assignment (3-5 pgs), final essay project (8 pgs). If you do the work, you will get an "A" in this class. I would recommend anyone take Professor Devine's class.

Dr. Devine is a fantastic teacher, she is willing to help you constantly. She does have a tendency to not respond to emails, but I think that's cause she teaches 9+ classes a semester. I'd recommend her to anyone because it's a fun and easy class so long as you do the reading and take notes in class.

I highly recommend this professor. took the 6 week course and very easy. just do the work. 14 DBs, 14 quizzes, 5 pg. Annotated bibliography, 3 pg. Real World Assignment. You should do your written assignments at the very beginning of the course as that may be your only challenge if you wait until the last minute. Easy A.

I took Dr. Devine this semester and I LOVED her class. I wasn't planning to be a Psych major but now I am considering it. Even if you aren't she shows you all the ways Psychology still matters in your life. She is also really funny and she definitely knows her subject well! I took the hybrid course. This professor is amazing. She responds back to all my emails on time. Her class is fairly easy as long as you do the work on time. The only problem is she takes long periods of time to grade your work but if you need it graded you can send her an email and she will do so. I highly recommend this course.

You wont need a book in this classes if you pay attention and take notes. She is very understanding so if you're having problem just talk to her. There will always be extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Devine just has this calm and loving demeanor. She is very understanding, yet sincere. She is a very good teacher and like students to participate on lecture and group project. She gives a lot of extra credit for you to pass the course. She respond to her email on time and stay after class if you need help. She doesn't give student hard time to turn your work on time.

3 tests 2 online. Easy homework online. Gives extra credit that is easy. You don't have to attend class. I never needed help outside of class but she helped other students if they sought it out. She adds a lot of interesting information during the lectures. She is super sweet and wants you to make a good grade. If you like an easy A, take her. UNF.

Online DEP2004 course. The work is straight forward and the Professor makes her expectations clear. She does take some time to get grades in, but there was no final and she didn't stack too much work during the week.

She takes questions straight from the book. Make sure you actually read it and take notes and you'll do fine on her quizzes. I'm not a fan of the discussion boards but they are mandatory and she is very specific in what she is looking for in the replies.

Psychology is my major, and I really enjoyed this class. Weekly discussion and quiz, that's it. Not a lot of work at all. Also a team paper due at the end of the course, but it's easy and I enjoyed it. The professor is very nice, too. :)

Her class was boring, she gets off topic and talks about her kids a lot. It was a waste of time showing up, but she counts attendance as part of your grade. It was an easy A though. Service learning project is a little intimidating, just start it ASAP. She accepts late work, just submit all the assignments before end of semester and you'll pass.

Dr. Devine was an AMAZING professor, she is super understanding and graded easily! I would take her over and over again if I could. The text is online the program is not the best in my opinion but all the quizzes were open book, and she offers a lot of extra credit throughout the semester. Great Professor 100/100

Dr. Devine's online DEP2004 class was straight forward. She does take a while with grading, but shoot her an email and you will get a response. Each quiz question is straight from the book. Take notes/highlight and it'll be a breeze!

It took forever for her to grade things. Easy class, all it consisted of was weekly discussion and quizzes and a final team paper.

Discussion boards for each lesson, the more classmates you respond to the better the grade for that lesson. Interesting class, not easy but not hard.

Discussions & quizzes weekly. No "tests". 2 short essays that require you to discuss childhood & view on middle adulthood- I do not like essays but these were painless. A couple of chpt. each week to read but I learned a lot in this class & enjoyed it! I would take this class again for sure.

I took her online 7 week Human Growth and Development class... Super easy class! You will definitely need a book. She gives multiples chances to take quizzes. Her deadlines are very clear. All of her assignments are very easy, just do them and it's an easy A!

Took this class as an 8 wk course online. Wish it was longer. A lot was covered in those 8 wks. But a pretty easy class. Do all of your homework as instructed and you will get a good grade. She didn't answer any of my emails and doesn't give any feedback to why you got the grade you did, which is a downside to her. Overall, good class.

Professor Devine was very laid back and we would have lots of great discussions throughout the class. We watched lots of videos about different psychological topics that went along with the chapters of the book. This was a hybrid class so the chapters and quizzes were online and our final was a presentation of a 12 hour service learning project.

Surprised that Dr. Devine has negative reviews. Although she makes class a requirement she is a great professor she is very knowledgeable and entertains the class. Lots of extra credit opportunities. However there is a group project in the class. Overall a great professor to take.

She tends to go off topic sometimes so you really need to study more so on your own. In class she does more of scenario situations not really the topic youll be tested on online, but she really is a good professor.

I took this professor for general psychology and human development, and it was by far the easiest class Ive taken. She gives you until the end of the semester to submit all. I dont see how anyone could fail her online class

Took this class online and it was pretty straight forward. Prof. Devine clearly maps out everything due for the semester in her syllabus with easy to follow instructions. Instead of exams, you are required to do multiple weekly chapter follow-ups and quizzes. She also has weekly discussions that require a response and two additional peer reviews.

Best professor I've had thus far. She gave us her number if she wasn't responding to emails (which wasn't an issue). The psych professors lectures were literally the entire class talking like normal people. And if we went on a tangent, shed talk about whatever we WANTED to talk about and tie it in. All lessons were online.

SO I was worried to take her class because of the negative comments about online versus on campus ... but because of Covid I had her online but on webcam once a week.... and she is so fun! I wish I could have had her on campus, but it was a GREAT class!

I enjoyed this class a great deal-- I did not think I would like taking a class with online lectures, but it was probably as close to the classroom as we get right now. Funny, interesting professor.

What an interesting class... I did not want to take it online, but Live Online was almost as good as in person. She is sort of quirky funny and makes Psychology SO interesting!

Overall, I enjoyed this class. The class consisted of an online textbook. Assignments: read the chapter, work on the smart book, and do a quiz for each chapter; weekly discussion posts and 2 papers. No feedback on assignments. Doesn't grade weekly. Doesn't resolve issues when it comes to unassigned assignments.

My only complaint was that my group for my group project was terrible. The class was excellent and I loved Dr. Devine.

Devine was great. It's an online class so you can't expect a lot of professor presentations. There was a good amount of reading and writing- but completely manageable. Nothing was proctored. I reiterate, a lot of reading and digesting information but if you do the work and participate I honestly don't see how one could fail.

Professor Devine is a needed professor. Her feedback and push are spot on. She communicates timely. The workload she offers isn't much. I stated to prepare to read however, NOT to say there is a lot of reading. Reading is definitely essential to this course with a combo of note taking. You do that you'll be fine :) PS It's also open book. WIN-WIN!

It was a rough semester for me and Dr. Devine was very helpful and inspiring in helping me to get through the course when I wasn't sure if I should just withdraw and try again. Coming to class was extremely motivating because it was always a great discussion. Strongly recommend.

The entire workload for the semester is open on the first day. Amazing way to get ahead if you know you will be busy the next week. attendance and participation is mandatory! Easy class! Do the reading and assignment, then take an assessment! She has added some self assessments for you to do which are easy points and discussions with clear instructions! She even allows for a makeup day for missing assignments! Only down fall is I couldn't find a way to get ahold of her. Over all though this class was a great experience.

If taken as an online class with scheduled Blue Button dates, Prof.Devine was absolutely entertaining and immersive. You will have 2-4 assignments a week including McGraw Hill and quizzes. Minimal discussions. Content was fascinating and the way Prof.Devine explained it all was 1. understandable and 2. fun in general. She's awesome.
