She knows her stuff. Most of the material in this course is actually useful. Not the easiest marker and does demand perfection on every assignment. Just show up for class, put some effort into it and you'll do fine. And she's hot. Bonus.

Very good teacher, although she is really tough grader. You gotta participate, read the documents and be ready for classes. Without that, you will have a really tough time. But she worths if you are a good student

I took a condensed 7-week version of this class and I couldn't have expected it have gone as smooth as it did. Our assignments allowed us to improve on our writing as Penny gave constructive feedback in addition to the content we were writing about. I wish Penny nothing but the best and hope to take another class with her when possible.

Her grading scheme is extremely tough

An amazing Teacher! She cares and is so into getting to know her students and helping them.

She made the class fun and engaging. There are weekly writing assignments but they are short and easy to complete. There are also a lot of videos to watch relating to the topics taught in class along with some articles to read. There were also a few group activities that were completed in class relating to the topics and some class discussions

Interesting prof. had an assignment due every week. Most weren't hard but some had long passages you had to read. If your viewpoint doesn't match with hers on certain topics you need to be a very good writer as she will look to take marks off.

Penny Mamais only taught first half of this course as it was split into two sections two different teachers. All I gotta say is it was well done and she did great for her part and I was able to understand everything very clearly. Also the marks were reasonable and provided a valid explanation for why she would deduct marks. I recommend!

She's a very tough grader but overall it seems that she's really passionate about teaching. She's very kind

Professor Mamais' lectures are amazing!! You will learn so much!! There is weekly homework and readings, but they are very interesting. Moreover, I think people have a misunderstanding, being an elective course does not mean that it is easier or you will not have to do anything, please. Anyway, she is very nice, fun, and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Fun Prof-super funny and great class engagement

She's a kind and funny professor, I enjoyed her class for the most part. This class is reading-heavy and she gives many writing assignments, if you have a loaded semester I don't recommend taking this class. Participate as much as you can and you should be fine. She takes the use of AI very seriously, don't think about using it in her class.

The professor is engaging and makes the material interesting. Doing the readings and assignments is crucial, but unstuck study can help streamline the study process. Overall, a worthwhile elective if you're willing to put in the work.
