excellent, helpfull, friendly; he's the best phil. teacher @ BC
great teacher, makes the class interesting and makes great contact with students. offers great help and explanations. take him
class starts late every day(but she is a stickler for attendance).her tests are pretty damn easy and although the class is kind of boring she always dismisses at least 10 minutes early.
Really good teacher. By the way it is a lady not a man.
First of all, there are TWO Repetti's: Penny Repetti and her husband. Both are teaching Philo. I heard that he is also easy, but I took her - and its one of the easiest A's I've ever got. She is also a nice person, lets the class out early, etc.
She is very easy professor. Great personality. Down to earth. Treats her studenst very ethically(equally). Her exams are pretty easy. She is more easier for core 10.
she is good. she is always willing to help and she encourages student to see her. she has long office hours. i highly recommend this professor to everybody.
She is the best. Really nice and treats students well. Class is a lot of fun. Tests are so easy. class overall is so easy. Do not take anyone else
very nice and tries to be helpful & clear but the exams are tricky and focus on points that you wouldn't think of to study, asking names, stupid details,etc... and only 2 tests so the exams make up most of your mark, strict attendance rules also hurt mark
seems like it's very easy and straightforward but when it comes down to it the tests are tricky and most people don't do that well. She is very strict about attendence.
Class can tend to get repetative but still interesting. She's a very nice teacher willing to help out anyone of her students. There can be a few tricky questions on the exam but otherwise it's very fair.
She is the best. if you take any one else you are wasting your time. Great grader. easy tests. class with her is fun, you actually want to go.
Horrible, arrogant woman. Always finds ways to work in criticism of the religion she was raised with--not comfortable if you happen to practice that religion. I'm an A student and usually rock mult choice exams, but hers SUCK. Tricky and based on minutia.
A pretty good professor. Work is not difficult, exams are very fair, and she is very helpful. Highly recommended.
She's sweetheart, basically every quality one could want in a prof. Extremely easy tests, she always emphasizes that there will be no trick questions, and never gives them. An Easy A.
Great teacher! Very helpful. Eams can be a bit tricky, but she is a great. Do the work and she is incredibly fair and great to argue with!
Everyone told me that she was great but I didn't think so.You have to spit things back in her own words or else she takes off points.
She is annoying with her stories barely related to philosphy. I did well in the class, participated in discussions. On the midterm i got 95. And, somehow she gave me a B- for the course. I am not satisfied with my graid. She is not fair grader.
She's an easy professor but she talks too much about her personal experiences that have NOTHING to do with the class.
Had her for core 10 and Phil. 14. Super nice easy going manner can fool you into false sense of security at test time. Test questions are tricky. Although she is very nice I don't think she is the best teacher, often unclear. Could cover more material.
Sure, she's easy, but she doesn't know what the **** she's talking about! I got an A, yay, but she sucks. Her philosophy knowledge is ****.
Very easy. don't have to write any papers, exams are easy. Got A for doing nothing.
Had her for core 10. Very easy. If you get her you are in luck. No other professor like her in the college. Always tries to help you as well as accomodate. Easy A if you just write what she tells you which isnt much and review it the night before the exam
Very understanding and good teacher. She sits down and basically gives you all the pertinent information. You can't ask for anything more.
An easy class IF... Basically if she likes you, she'll give you an A, otherwise be prepared for the worst grade even if you know the material. If you know/like to lick ass, then this class is for you.

One of the best professor at BC, very understanding and thoughtful knows her stuff she is a very helpful and concern teacher takes her time to explain anything you do not understand. Midterm exam are multiple choice the final had questions you had to answer in the booklet not alot. She is the best.
easiest A i got at BC, take her if you can
She is the best teacher ever. Class participation is a must in her class. Know your topics inside out and you'll have no problem...You'll get an A. She is extreamly understanding and thoughtful. Take good care of her :)
Easy professor, so everyone loves her, but she doesn't actually know what she's talking about. Just about any hardcore philo major could see that she's not very knowledgeable, and often downright ignorant. But yea - this is BC. She's an easy A, so they love her.
shes a good professor because shes not hard at all. She gives examples from her own personal life, and talks about herself a lot! her midterm and final are pretty simple, just need to know the definitions. no paper, but you really need to participate.
Very relaxed class. There was only a midterm and a final. On the midterm there is mutlti choice fill-ins and t/f, on the final 50% essay and the rest the same as midterm. I thought the tests would only be philosophical questions, but there were equal amounts of "who said this" and "who was that" to make sure you read the book (its easy, so do it).
Very easy, just read the book.
She makes the class very interesting. She shares her own life experiences and invites the students to do the same. I enjoyed her class a lot. I wish I had taken her for Core 10, unfortunately this is my last semester at BC. I highly recommend her.
She goes over about 85% of the material for the test inside class. If you want to get an 'A,' you must read the book, b/c she asks things that are subtle (like in the Ford case, how much $ could have prevented deaths). A lot of people didn't think they had to read, so they ended up with B's and C's. Everyone should read the book b/c it's not much.
Excellent Professor! She makes her class interesting and shares a lot of her own experiences. Read the book and take notes on lectures. Two test given based on book, class discussions and handouts. Professor is very helpful and understanding.
Great Professor. She was very helpful and truly cared about how students achieved in her class. Highly recommended. Some reading is involved but mostly lectures are the concentration.
She's really great! nice, understanding. there is very little work involved, but once u do it, u will get a good grade. just do your part, she will do hers. READ THE BOOK, the tests are detailed
Guys, if philosophy isn't your cup of tea, I don't recommend this professor. She's nice as a person, but she's EXTREMELY boring. Plus, she likes to change the subject & start discussing her life events to the students for about an hour... and, they're not even cool life events!
she is that best...makes it easy for u and alot of class decsion. i liked her so take her for any major classes
she is so nice and caring... wants students to do well... read the book and the tests are simple, just a bit detailed. she takes attendence. theres one midterm and one final.
she's great. uses great examples to concept sticks in your head-although a lot of them are about her personal life. shes very nice and cares and takes attendence. easy and you actually learn
Nice professor with a good heart...she really seems to care for her students..easy test...just study...take this professor...
Participate because it can raise your grade. Pretty easy professor.
Truly the nicest professor in BC. Is truly a wonderful person. However, she came 15-20 minutes late every single day, taught only one day’s worth of ‘business ethics,’ and allows the stupidest class discussions to continue. If you want an A (as I did, and got) take her.
She is a great Pro who just wants all her students to do well. One book (which is really short) and thats it. no papers unlike most Phil Pro. Got an A+
She is a very easy and good teacher, but be aware you need to study for her tests, she nitpicks on names such as gods (remember that phaedo goddess name and those 5 attributes!) she also likes to make tricky true and false so read over your answers!
awesome professor. i suggest ppl take her. she is great and hepful in any way. shes a sweetheart.
Ok, so this teacher was supposed to be amazing, but she doesn't actual do anything. Anything that is discussed in class relates only to one thing: her personal life. I understand leveling with students to make the class good, but jeeze, you don't learn anything! She's a sweetheart, but the class is a waste of time and money.
The class was like group therapy for me. It really did change my views though. It was an easy class because most of the class is just discussions. I never read anything and I got an A. She is such a fair teacher too; she gives you a choice about everything. She is a saint, the nicest person in the world. It was a good class. I recommend her.
Probably the easiest professor I have ever had, and she is very understanding and nice. With that said, she is an aweful teacher. All we did was have group discussions that degenerated into stories of her personal life. Take this class if you want an easy A, but dont if you want to learn anything.
She was incredible and very helpful and sweet one of my first professors and she was wonderful.
best philosophy teacher in the department. She involves students in class discussions, yet not make them feel bad if they don't.I learnt alot andwithout stress
Loved her and her class, got an A, shes amazing
Had her for half a semester because our original prof left. She was able to pick up the pace wonderfully and I'm truly blessed to have had her for cc 2.1. Easiest class ever and made me go from hating phil to loving it. I can now have a lenghty convo about Socrates and Descartes and sound like I've been studying it for years.
she is a great teacher and i love the way she explaons things. if your interested in philosophy shes the best teacher for the job.
Mostly talks about her personal life. Participation is required, but participation in her class means talking about your own personal life. If you actually want to learn or discuss something that relates to the class she has nothing intelligent to offer. And on top of that, her tests are ridiculous.
Popular, amiable, and very human.
do the readings! she is hypocrite and annoying as a person. But she makes class easy. No homeworks, tests based on readings, her explanations clear.
If you really want to learn about philosophy, do not take her as a teacher. She was absent most of the time and we only covered two topics. She is a nice person but a bad professor. However, if you want a class where you have to do little work and can get an easy A, then I say take her. If you want to really learn, then she is not the prof for you.
Very easy A. She is always absent though... so be prepared to show up to class for nothing.
I would like to give a shoutout to Ms.Repetti. I learn alot. She relates her experience with the text. I liked going to her class. Read the text, study the notes she gives and handouts and you'll be fine.
Ditto the comments below. She doesn't just give raw facts. She shows how to apply it. She is what a true professor should be.
Really easy class. She basically just discusses the articles you need to read for homework and adds stories about her own life. She's very nice but absent a lot (which wasn't really a problem for most students).
If you truly want to appreciate ethics, take this course with her. She is so sweet and pleasant to listen to. She shows you all sides of every situation. It is reading intensive, but totally worth it
Ms. Repetti is an amazing teacher who is open to others opinions and really cares about her students. It's a must to take her!!
great professor, she is a very easy a and very easy to relate to. Shes sweat and when you have a problem she encourages students to talk to her. She treats you well and dont give too much work. overall shes really great and the tests arent too hard if you read the articles and listen in class
Prof Repetti is the best teacher ever. I needed an elective class and she truly made it something so enjoyable and was a great teacher. MUST TAKE if you have to and even if you don't, she's a wonderful professor. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
prof repetti is probably one of the greatest professors i have ever had. she is very sweet, kind and extremely understanding. i look forward to her class every day. sign up for her class if you get the chance.
she easy like really easy but kinda boring like she's mad old and talk awayyyyy to much about her life...take it if you need a nice nap or an easy A
good professor.. didnt do much managed to get a descent grade without even buying the book.. towards the end it got kinda boring.. extremely nice professor
Great professor, very easy class.
The class was not easy but the Professor is excellent. She was very supportive and always willing to help anyone who didnt understand the material. You wont regret taking the class with her.
Her teaching style is not the same as many other professors. She listens and is willing to explain if you don't understand. Spends the first half of the semester having people learn to argue theories and then somehow relates it to business. If you're shy and don't really care for the opinions of others then this is not the class for you.
Best proffesor in BC. By far!!!!! very little reading and alot of class discussion but her test are extremely easy and she outlines all u need to know prior to exam.
Let me concise this honestly: Her lectures are excellent, her exams are fair, her essay topic is straightforward, her reviews are outstanding, her coursepack is fantastic and it saves us money, and she as an example of a professor!!! My favorite part of this was she moderated the classroom discussions pretty well, and her students deserve it!!! ;-)
She is an awesome teacher. She makes you think about things in a different manner. She is not trying to convert you to her way of thinking but she teaches in such a way that you kind of begin to see things a bit differently.
Her lectures are excellent. Her exams are fair. Her essay topic is straightforward. Her reviews are outstanding. Her course-pack is fantastic and it saves students a lot of money. She as an example of a true professor (or Lecturer). She moderated the classroom discussions pretty well. Her students deserve it. I strongly recommended her.
I took PHIL 3306 and PHIL 3314 with her, back to back, during the same summer session of the summer 2011 semester. To sum it up: her lectures, the group work, the essay, the midterm, the cumulative final, the optional quiz, the class discussions, and her office hours are off the charts and beyond belief. I certainly recommended
One of the greatest professors alive! Albeit I'm a high school student who enrolled in this course through the college now program, I still highly recommend this professor/class to any undergrad!! :) her lectures are clear and concise, and her exams are very easy (if you study and listen during class). All in all, I had much fun. She's the best :)
Easy class. Great professor. If you do the readings, it's an easy A. Don't expect a good grade if you DO NOT READ!!!!!
Best Professor at Brooklyn college! gives 1 paper, a midterm and a final and gives an optional quiz. As long as you pay attention and attend class its an easy a. she is very understanding and the class was extremely enjoyable. i highly recommend.
She's an excellent professor and very helpful! Highly recommended.
Professor Penny Repetti is truly an incredible, wise, and caring professor. She ensures that all her students have the ability to succeed. I admire her passion for philosophy and ethics. Professor Repetti is absolutely the best!
She was late in the semester coming to my class, but she was super nice. She's very soft spoken and welcoming. If I had her all semester, I would have given her 5s across the board.
She is always late. Your answers for the questions should be VERY similar to hers. Otherwise, good luck.
This class was amazing! She is very good with relating personal stories with the topics that we are learning so that we can understand better. I would definetly take this class over and i'm pretty sure I will enjoy it even more the second time!
Very sweet professor i would recommend her. the work load is really not much, but what she does assign to read will be exactly what you should expect. her grading criteria is fair. Just pay attention to what she says and what she assigns (which isn't much) and youll be fine
Very fair grader, she gives a lot of reading and work but its easy not very time consuming and you learn the material well. Her lecture is very interesting and fun. Study for the test they are thorough but she helps a lot. Great teacher you really learn and the class doesn't seem like a chore.
Group projects in class only (and are only discussions with one paragraph writing for the whole group), Midterm was very fair and simple. Optional paper and pop quiz to boost grades! Attendance really does matter, but the class was canceled a lot. She's very understanding and fair!
If you like group projects and doing a lot of reading then take her. It's an interesting class but it is no where near easy A like other seems to have suggested. maybe that was the case in previous years because I recently took her and it's a lot of work
A rare teacher at Brooklyn College that actually cares for her students. The material is broken down in a way that is very digestible. Fun class overall. First time in a long time that I've actually enjoyed coming to a class.
Very easy, but nothing that wasn't in intro. Allowed unrelated tangents but discouraged any conversations about philosophy that weren't in her course material-even directly about the topic. Brought up examples that a quick google shows didn't happen, check snopes. Absent and late constantly. She taught 2/14 readings by the midterm. Seems nice tho.
She's a true gem! Really caring and pro-student, we need more professors like her!
Shes a nice professor, easy A, and she works with you, however shes BORING. She goes on unnecessary tangents about her personal life, and we barely did any of the readings. Her tests are tricky, if you dont read whats assigned. She was 10-15 minutes late every single class, including the first day.
Prof. Repetti is excellent at teaching, she is very nice and gives most of her notes orally, so you have to come to class. Her class is organized around participation, some group work, a midterm and a final. She teaches very well and gives a lot of personal examples to make the material digestible. One of the actual good ones in the school.
Professor Repetti is awesome. She is nice. she understands her students really well. She is caring too. I was a horrible test taker, but with her assistance she allowed me to do well in the class. She gives a quiz and midterm and final that counts twice your grade. I would want her to consider is have presentation and projects that count as a test.
Her class was really boring, but the readings were quick and easy. A lot of group work and presentations, which is easy if you do the readings. We had a lot of conversations about each others personal lives, which I didnt find helpful. But overall, okay class, easy to pass.
Professor Repetti is a real gem in the philosophy department. She truly cares about her students. Show up, participate and do the readings !
Professor Repetti is by far the best professor I have ever had. She gets the whole class to engage in group discussions and makes any topic super interesting. I don't think I will ever be able to stop talking about how much I loved her class. Definitely would take her!!!! Not difficult at all and very interesting class.
Professor Repetti is the best Professor Ive had my entire time of being in college. She really does care about her students. This class was the easiest class Ive ever taken. I got an A+. All you have to do is read and participate and thats it. Shes amazing. Lectures are very funny. I truly do recommend her
This review is long over due, but I would like to say it has been a pleasure having to learn from Professor Repetti. There may be days where she is absent a lot but please be understanding. She is always willing to give second chances, but do not take advantage of this respected professor.
I really liked Professor Repetti. The class was engaging and fairly easy with little work. I do want to say its more philosophy based than actual business ethics , but the concepts can intertwine. a must take!!
Professor Repetti is so caring and treats everyone as equals. This class is about hot topics that people often try to avoid. I really enjoyed approaching the topics from other perspectives. Make sure to write down whatever she repeats it's critical info.
Easy A! She really cares about students and offers A LOT of extra credit! Your grade is entirely based on the midterm, final, and 2 groupwork(just a paragraph of your group's opinion on certain topics, super short & easy) Exams were 25 T/F, fill-in blanks & short response. P.S. If you ask for help on exams she'll tell you if your answer is correct!
I learned a lot from this class and shes really easy to talk to. There are a few papers and she gave extra credit opportunities.
Professor Repetti is by far the best professor I have ever had. She is so caring and she truly wants you to do well. In class, we read a few short stories regarding philosophical topics and discussed them as a class. The discussions were very interesting. The homeworks take 10 minutes to complete. 100% recommend taking her class, you won't be bored
Very understanding, kind person, who will hear you out and respect your opinions. Just as long as you participate, read, and study, she won't give you a single problem.
She was a great professor. Only problems were that the tests were super difficult. Couldnt even let us use notes or go back to review a question. Shes also a tough grader when it comes to assignments. The material is alright. Didnt get to do a lot of material this year because of the hard semester online. But she is very nice and respectful.
she's nice, she wants student to participate, she is motherly figure, discuss chapters on every class, 2 exams. 1 extra credit paper, if you participate she gives you extra points, if the whole class doesn't participate she will pick randomly, if you don't know the answer just simply/politely tell her u don't know and she will ask you to answer ltr
Easiest A
Really cool professor, respects everyones opinions but her tests are hard
This professor was so nice! You just make to make sure to participate in the class because she takes that seriously. Other then that not much hw or reading. I would definitely recommend!
Exams are very difficult. Nice and respectful professor. Her lectures are good and you must participate.
I like Professor Repetti. Participation counts and attendance. Her lectures and topic were interesting and she made the class doable for all her students. She was also very accommodating to her students. Make sure you read all the readings because shell ask you about them. Gives extra credit. Exam are not hard. TAKE NOTESSSS!!!!!! Would recommend!
Terrible teacher. Does not help you review for the midterm or final which count heavily towards the grade. She provides no notes. I would never recommend this class even to my worst enemy. She wings each lecture and just talks about how she feels. Exams are insanely hard as she tries to word the question to trick the students. I repeat do not take
class can be confusing - she doesn't give notes and says personal stories the whole time so its hard to write notes but otherwise its chill. not too much reading - 2/3 articles, txtbk mandatory. prof is nice and willing to work with the class on what they need. 1 midterm + 1 final - multiple choice but tricky questions. big on class discussion
Utterly disappointed. Took forever to grade homework. Grade is based on the final and homework assignments. The final is 41 questions multiple choice based on the homework. The final review was on a Saturday, asked for the recording and never got an email. The final seems easy but was harder than anticipated. Do not recommend, unclear professor.
Prof. Repetti was an easy grader, and there was not too much homework. Grade was mainly decided by several short assignments and one long final exam. Long delay in getting feedback or grades back for assignments.
She's a good professor but there are a few things to consider if you want to take her. She grades assignments late after they are due, the final is long and you need to buy a textbook that she made to do the HW assignments, which is selfish in my opinion. Overall, the workload is light and the class is not stressful.
The whole semester was spent reading 2 articles and then listening to her fabricate scenarios she has "experienced," in which she's apparently the arbiter of morality. Discussion based class with 2 fully multiple choice exams. Unnecessarily tricky wording. And seriously, can not stress enough how pointless the course felt. I would avoid taking.
I took the async online class, and while she is fair in grading, she is really slow at giving feedback. This is why I recommend probably taking her in-person, as it is easier to see what the expectations are. It also felt very passive, but this may be because it's an online class.
Professor Repetti is awesome. The lectures in her class are fun and interesting and she encourages you to participate w/o any pressure with your own opinion/viewpoint. She tells you what to study for on exams such as what topics will be on it and she is a fair grader. You will get an easy A if you pay attention and participate in classes. Light hw
VERY harsh grader and very disorganized. barely any assignments and then gives no study guide for the final. the assignments seem fairly easy and open to interpretation but if she asks for your opinion on something and your opinion is wrong, she'll give u a 70 on the assignment. very confusing professor but topics were overall interesting.
Professor Repetti runs an engaging class with interesting discussions. While the exams can be challenging, active participation and using study aids like Unstuck AI help a lot. Definitely an enjoyable and rewarding philosophy course overall.
Great professor when it comes to giving out lectures and gives everyone a fair chance at participation. Gives real life examples when referring to certain subjects in the matter and is always available when a student might be falling behind or has questions on concepts they don't understand. Be sure to keep up with your notes, they'll be on exams.
