I found Professor Chang to be incredibly helpful. She's very passionate with regards to business ethics, yet open to suggestion. I would have to disagree with the previous comment stating her liberal bias, because her class wasn't to discuss a form of political representation, but rather current scenarios with business, and their ethics. Great prof
She's a great teacher and is very interested in helping her students form their own opinions and the arguments for those opinions. She has her own opinions too, obviously, but she doesn't push them onto her students or get preoccupied with them during lectures. I have no idea why anyone would think otherwise, but she's a very fair and good teacher.
I was not a fan of this course by any means. However, Dr Chang was a very fair professor. She reviews your assignments and gives you the opportunity to rewrite them if needed. The class participation is a joke. It turned into who could say the same thing the last person said without adding any new ideas. Put some effort into the course workbook.
Prof. Chang is very nice, talented and helpful. Class is interesting and thought provoking. The 40 page workbook assignment is tedious, but the reading is light, and the other assignments are very manageable.
She was very helpful and made the class very interesting. It is only six weeks but it was probably my favorite class. Assignments are difficult at first but she is helpful and you get to rewrite them. minimal reading and the workbook at the end is long. Start on that early.
Chang really knows what she lectures about. It's an interesting course, and while you do have to read and take quizzestests, they are all online. She also gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. I would recommend taking her!
Class is super easy. All you have to do is read, and study the slides. Quizzes and tests are all done online, so it's very easy to pass.
Pepe Chang is easily one of the best professors at UTSA. She actually teaches her students using real world scenarios, and makes business ethics a great class! All of her tests and quizzes come from her lectures and the readings in the textbook. As long as you go to class, take good notes, and read you will get an A or B for sure.
Sweetest lady ever! I haven't really spoken up in class, but the lectures are very entertaining. She talks about a few subjects but we go really into detail, its great! The readings are short and sweet. Gotta love this class, never thought ethics would be my favorite class!
Seriously, Dr. Chang is AMAZING!!! Definitely my favorite class I have taken so far. She is so organized, professional and inspirational! Class is not mandatory but her lectures are great!! Uses real life situations that are interesting. She is the teacher for you!!!! Wish I can take this class all over again lol
Best teacher I've ever had, plus the subject was extremely interesting to me. Everything is clear, understandable, easy, readings are small, no homework, all quizzes and tests are online. Not sure how you could fail.
This was such an easy class. I made a near 100 in the class and didn't go to most of the classes. Class time literally consists of her throwing out hypothetical situations and having class discussions. If you have any prior knowledge of basic philosophy, you'll ace this class. Only 3 grades, all quizzes/tests are on blackboard.
Her lectures are really interesting. She comes off strong when you first meet her but she is honestly the best AIS professor I've heard of. She is really nice but also sarcastic. She helps you and doesn't want you to fail. Easy class and really cool professor. She does take attendance for a grade.
She is a great professor! She doesn't overwhelm you with work, and makes a boring subject interesting. Her lectures keeps your interest, &she loves when her students participate. She motivates her students, and doesn't talk to you like a child. She was always telling the class on ways to get involved without being to pushy. Would take again.
Easily one of my favorite classes this semester! Pepe is a lot of fun and very nice but also will give criticism where it is due (not in a harsh way). Great open class discussions that I thought were very interesting and informative. Would definitely take her class again.
She is a very fun and easy teacher, she is very laid back and isn't afraid to express her opinion. she gives lots of extra credit and her exams are online.
This class is one of the best classes I have ever taken. Dr. Changs discussion based method of teaching allows students to engage, understand and learn the material in the cases. Couple this with Dr. Changs down to earth honest manner of handling the class discussions, and you have a great class. She is accessible and interested in your opinion
Best professor in the MBA course
Do not take her online course, Dropped the course sadly! She didn't give no instuctions on a journal we had to do she then sent us to look at the syllabus (no instuctions on there had previously checked). Certain test questions did not go with the videos/readings she gave us. Test grades will take up a whole day to show up! Do not recommend her!
I took GBA 2013 online and it was a disaster to say the least. There are around 5 assignments due every week including a test, journal, survey, and multiple quiz and "challenges". There were little to no guidelines and I never would receive feedback on my journals to reflect my score. Its honestly so annoying and I wish i had taken a W.
Do not take her GBA2013 online class. The instructions were not clear, the grading for the writing assignments were arbitrary, and the questions on her assessments were nothing but a lot of t/f questions and mark-all-that-apply questions. In addition, there's often a lot of reading/watching to do every week in comparison to a typical 3 hour class.
Awful-absolutely awful. This woman is the worst Prof I have ever had--and I took Bennie Wilson. This course is absolutely ridiculous (material doesn't line up with the tests, doesn't help with issues, very rude, randomly gives grades with no justification, etc.). This class has been my own personal hell. I am a 4.0 student & I wish I had taken a W.
I took her class online and it was her first time doing it. At first it was rough but it got better. Every week each module has quizzes, a journal, and an exam. I would highly recommend buying the text book because that along with the videos assigned will be essential to helping you pass the modules.
Course has 12 modules with about 8 hours worth of work each week. Consist of 2 quizzes, 1 challenge problem, 1 journal, 1 Test and module evaluation each week. Easiest class out of my 4 classes I took this semester. Would take again.
Online class-difficult at first, until you get the hang of things. Stuff is due every week, dont get behind and youll be fine. Dont need the book, quizzestests are easy to guess on.
Even though attendance is not mandatory, she looks for participation in the classes that you attend. If no classes are attended, then it would be tough to get a grade. Her lectures are thought provoking and very useful. She connects her lectures to real life examples. Definitely you will feel good as you learn many useful lessons for life.
BEST ONLINE CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN HANDS DOWN. Each week is split into modules with content that varies from TED talks to reading from the textbook with a quiz at the end of each module. Each week also has a journal entry and test at the end. I can't recommend this class enough, you do teach yourself but I really retained a lot of information.
Dr. Chang is seriously the best! I took her for an honors ethics course and it was great! She uses real world scenarios which is super helpful. Some of her past reviews were harsh, but it's not her fault. I would HIGHLY recommend her. Yes, she makes you work for the grade, but she is always there to help you out if needed. Great professor!
It's a pretty easy class, even though it's an Honors class. She is an excellent lecturer and the class flies. I would highly recommend the class.
The layout of the course is nice. There's a module every week that has a video lecture, a reading from the book, an article sometimes, and a quiz over all that every monday that opens 6 am and closes tuesday 6 am. It's an online class so sometimes things happen you can't complain but she did get kinda rude with us one time when there was a problem
Class is easy. The professor, not so much. She can be snarky. First week of class there was an issue comprehending the syllabus. I politely emailed her asking a questions about it and received a reply saying to read the syllabus. Gee didnt think of that. Throughout the course there were technical difficulties and quizzes werent released on time.
Took this class online, syllabus is clear and simple. One module a week, concepts are not hard to understand so overall this was an easy class. Professor came off as rude at first but she's actually cool and cares about her students success. Definitely recommend her.
TAKE CHANG. i took her 300 person lecture, it was incredibly easy, and her lectures are super interesting. every 2 weeks an online quiz opened up for 3 days, and those were all our grade was based on. the quizzes were over lecture topics and articles in the textbook. they were fairly easy, and she offers a lot of extra credit.
Great class
Great entry class needed for a business school students, lots of article reading and critical thinking. Use the group me and work with each other to get a better grade. Prof. takes a while to get back to you. I felt like I got a lot out of the class and learned a lot of real world stuff.
Easy online class. Got an A- without reading any of the books or watching the lectures. Just read some of the extra literature she provides. She didn't respond to my emails. A lot of the questions are common sense.
she's amazing, clear, understanding, organized, and caring. her online course was amazing I would take her again if I could
Never used textbook in Cyber Program for this course. Had quizzes due once a week to go over material. That's it. Offered multiple chances at extra credit. Wish more professors would provide lecture videos (or even voice overs) with their powerpoints like Dr. Chang did. It went a long way. Would highly recommend taking. Show up, listen, get an A.
Ms. Chang was caring and did not make purchasing a text book mandatory. With that being said, I found the class to have a lot of unnecessary elements. Quizzes had material that was not covered. That might have been in error but it was still annoying. Tests were simple and had multiple correct answers. All-in-all, not the best experience for me.
Her class is structured with pretty lengthy lectures but are needed for the type of material that is presented. Her lectures are very clear and her personal insight helps as well. A couple short readings each module too and a quiz at the end for comprehension. I enjoy her a lot but wish I could take her class in person to discuss with these topics.
wow! such a great instructor. Textbooks were not needed for this class so that saved me a few 100 bucks. Her lectures are very clear. To pass this class, Just listen, understand the lesson, write down a few notes (optional), and take the quiz! i promise you will pass! she also gives TONS of EXTRA CREDIT, so if you need it, do them! GOOD LUCK!
One of the best professors Ive ever had and Ive never even met her. Great class weekly quizzes and plenty of extra credit
No homework just readings that she provided and were not long, most helpful to not have to buy an extra book during COVID. Lectures ranged from 30minutes to I think the longest was maybe 1 hour. One quiz a week, very clear on how graded. Reachable outside of class if you don't understand something, and plenty of extra credit if you need it.
Great professor who actually relates the material to real-world, current situations. Everything was provided for us; no book purchase necessary. Definitely an easy class.
I LOVED that she didn't require you to purchase the textbook and just gave you access to the parts that needed to be read which was thoughtful during COVID. She has easy to follow lectures with powerpoints. One quiz a week to go over the chapter(s) with two chances. Also she gives you opportunities for some east extra credit. TAKE HER.
I took Dr. Chang for an online Business Ethics Course and she was an awesome professor! Her lecture videos were easy to follow along to and understand. All of the modules have a lecture video, powerpoint notes, and a few articles to read (which are short and easy). She grades fairly and is very respectful.
I am a Psych major and took this class (unsure of what to expect). I was so dang pleasantly surprised, this was my favorite class of the Spring 2021 semester! Trust me, take her class, the lectures are fantastic and so very interesting! You are required to think in this class (thought experiments) are a big part of understanding in this course.
Take Dr. Chang!!! She is an AMAZING professor. The lectures are incredibly interesting and straightforward. Class grades mainly come from the quizzes about the lectures as well as extra credit opportunities. I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Dr. Chang was overall a solid teacher. During her lectures she would sometimes come across as arrogant-especially when she compared herself as a philosophy professional to business majors. She said she would make herself available, but was not easy to get a hold of. Otherwise, her material was solid, I learned a lot and I would take her again.
Dr. Chang is super sweet and provides amazing lectures. Since this is an ethics course, a lot of the material is covered via lectures and textbook readings. However, due to COVID she provided those readings for us. Her lectures are the main portion of the class and progressively get longer and longer. Just make sure to a lot time for them.
Professor Chang is a solid choice. She uses old recordings for each module. You get a quiz every week, and 2 chances on each, which was very convenient if you messed up the 1st try. EASY A
Dr. Chang's class was very interesting and the homework was always easy. She assigns weekly readings, quizzes, and typically provides extra examples that help make the week's lesson make more sense if you're struggling to understand. Overall, she taught the course very well, and I highly recommend her course to anyone considering her.
Professor Chang goes really in-depth about the topics which I really enjoyed. I felt I really understand them now because of it. The quizzes are easy and can be taken twice. Textbook purchase is not recommended because she posts the articles you need to read. Easy class and you will learn a lot. Would take again.
She is solid, but does not really reply to email. With the new grading system she will NOT give an A+ even when you earn it, so beware!
Great professor and a great class to take in person. I loved how her lectures turn into a conversation and how much she interacts with the students. Very easy class to take and it's hard to fail.
I really enjoyed this class because of the presentation of the material, very thought provoking. The quizzes/tests were not difficult and straight from the material. It is clear that the prof wants students to succeed.
Professor Chang is super clear with her lectures. The class only has one quiz a week and no exams! I have learned all the material well, but it has never been a tough class for me. I highly recommend taking this professor if you like to understand what you're learning, and you want a professional and accommodating professor.
She's super nice and her class is easy. As long as you show up to lectures and take the quizzes on time, you'll be fine. Subject matter is pretty simple and she makes it interesting. She's super goofy but kind of scatterbrained which gets annoying. Overall she's cool though and I'd recommend her. There's no final or textbook needed to purchase.
TAKE HER! No tests, midterms, or finals, just weekly quizzes. Go to class it's actually interesting and benefitual information. Doesn't have a textbook, just weekly readings which I mostly didn't read and still got an A. This class is a breeze and so interesting.
Attend the lectures! Very engaging with thought experiments and debates. Information from the lectures will also be used on quizzes that aren't found in the materials provided. Along with the materials provided NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED!
Great professor. Lectures are very thought-provoking and interesting. If you attend lectures and are engaged in the material, this class should be an easy A.
An open-book short quiz (2 attempts) due each week. No tests/exams/papers/discussions. There are papers for extra credit. For a 16-week course, there are only 12 modules. One module opens every week, so cannot work ahead. Provides readings/lectures/slides. No textbook is required. Responded quickly to my email. Would recommend. Class is an easy A.
The class was easy but not the professor. The weekly quizzes had multiple correct answers but DON'T question her if you get it wrong because she will take it out on your grade. She is rude and arrogant. The students that have issues with her are the ones that have questions about assignments or the syllabus. I would still recommend her. Take heed.
This is probably the easiest class you will take in college. You could not attend a single class or read anything and still pass the class. The only assignments in the class are 1 quiz a week, worth 30 points. Each quiz has essentially 15 free points that you can't get wrong. 3-4 extra credits, short 250-word papers about the current module.
Professor Chang is easy going and personable. She's got a sense of humor. Her lectures are very interesting and worthwhile to go to class, along with the thought experiments and class discussions. Great class to balance out a heavy schedule as it is very manageable. Only graded by weekly quizzes consisting of 15 questions from the weekly module.
In all honestly, I only showed up for this class for the first month of school and never came back. The class itself is pretty easy, one quiz every week. Just touch up on the readings before taking the quiz and you'll be fine because the lectures aren't really necessary. Gives 3 extra credit assignments that make up missed points on quizzes.
Professor Chang is amazing, she gives you all the materials you need to be successful in her class. Attendance is highly recommended, everything she goes over in her lectures. This course is based off of 1 quiz a week with no final so doing good on quizzes is a must. She gives extra credit so if you do poor on a quiz you can still pass.
she is quite literally the best definition of slaying. she has so much topics that interest everyone. It's a discussion based class. shes an icon and she knows what shes talking about.
Your grade depends on 12 quizzes, each with 15 questions. The initial quiz on module 1 and syllabus had absurd questions, and answer choices. This class is outrageous. BEWARE
No final exam only one quiz a week with two attempts and no buying a textbook. I love going to her lectures because they're always interesting and fun, definitely one of the best professors I've had.
Professor Chang is a responsible professor. Your grade relies heavily on quizzes. They wouldn't release the assignment until the end of the week. You would have Friday-Sunday to complete the assignments/quizzes. If you read the course material and listen to the lecture you have a higher chance of passing the class.
1hr. lectures, 1 quiz a week, no textbook required. Easy A. Take her!!!
Professor Chang is absolutely a must-have for GBA 2013.
Professor Chang's lectures were very engaging, and participation was optional. However, if you did decide to participate, she would give you very good responses to questions and would give good counter-arguments to debate topics. There is one quiz a week and they are always consistent with the course material provided. Would take again.
Her lectures are very insightful and interesting. Attendance is not mandatory at all. Everything is online so you do not need to go to class to get an A. But it is worth going to the lectures as she teaches you things that you can apply to your every day life. Take her!
Sometimes didn't seem very passionate about the class like she was over it but she was super funny. Weekly quiz and that's it. No textbook required and attendance was optional. Easy A, almost impossible to do bad.
Hilarious teacher. Gives fun thought experiments. Class doesn't require attendance but attending the lectures helps with understanding the material. easy class and a quiz is given every week over what we learned in the module. no final.
This professor was amazing. Attendance was not mandatory but the work was definitely easier when lectures were attended. The lectures themselves were engaging and conversations were interesting (an overall enjoyable experience). There is no textbook as she posts the reading material. She would address any concerns during lectures.
Class is very easy as long as you follow the lesson plan given each week. Short lessons (~2hrs to finish), easy to understand. Don't skip readings, some quizzes are half about them. Extra credit is given, nothing too "big". Prof. also gives good examples during lessons so pay attention to get a good idea of what's going on.
She's a good professor and the class is straightforward. Some of the concepts, especially the moral theories, are a little tricky to understand. However, she is there to help you understand them. Make sure to read the stuff she posts, as some quiz questions come from the readings. Overall the only complaint of her is that she is a little biased.
A simple class to take with no exams to prep for. Weekly quizzes will bring in 100% of your grade. I enjoyed that part of this class the most. Professor Chang also provides extra credit assignments and works on rounded-up grades at the end of the semester.
I had fun in this class although please take good notes on the lectures she does. It was hybrid for us, but the quizzes (which is most of your grade) is based off the online lectures (~1hr). Even then, there were questions that weren't in the lectures. Also ask ask questions. Good prof otherwise
She gives outstanding, original, philosopy-based lectures and really makes us think. I took a lot away from this course and now have a new prespective on business ethics and feel I truly understand capitalism, moral theories and prespectives of Adam Smith, Carnegie, Kant, and others. Also, there is no textbook. I highly recommend her class.
Amazing professor! This was by-far one of my favorite classes I have taken this semester. Professor does not give you a textbook, but expects you to read given material. Quizzes are easy if you attend lecture and read material. Class only took 2 hours of my week each week this semester. She has intriguing lectures that make you think. Shes not mean
Her lectures were very insightful. She doesn't take attendance but I recommend going as they help on the weekly quizzes.
This professor mainly uses quizzes to determine your whole grade in the course. Most quizzes relied on content from the readings and lectures, but some questions required an "agree/ disagree" answer. It's confusing because these questions don't seem related to your or the professor's opinions (at least what I could find in the videos).
Great professor and fun class just one thing. You get what you put into it if you don't list to lectures and do the reading it will reflect. Also don't rush it will show on your very easy quizes.
She has a lot of work but is a good professor.
Took Dr. Chang during the summer, easy class to balance with a full time job. 12 modules, each with maybe about an hour at most of watching lectures. 1 quiz per module, and that's it. Extra credit offered twice in the class. Great class to take during the summer. Dr. Chang is very funny in her lectures and is always open to any questions.
One assignment a week! She has amazing lectures that keep you thinking. Great to talk with peers after class to discuss. She is funny and KNOWS what she is talking about. No textbook/supplies needed, just think about the prompts. If you take the class seriously, you will learn a lot.
This prof is amazing. I love that she didn't have us waste our money to buy anything since she had the material ready. The only slightly bad thing is her quiz, which you need to do good on if you want to maintain an A.
Dr Chang, is so funny but sometimes she could go a little off track in her lectures. She has one quiz every week and it can bring your grade down if you fail one of the quizzes. Other than that her class is pretty straight to the point.
