She's a really boring and lazy teacher. You're better avoid her if you want to gain some writting skills from an ENGL course.

I never thought that a person could lecture for an hour and 45 minutes straight about absolutley nothing! Well, learning something new everyday... I like how she gives us classwork that she a) doesn't have to explain but takes an hour to do so anyway, and b) gives us no time to do it. Have fun!!!

horrible horrible horrible teacher. one of the worst in my education. how can someone talk so long and not accomplish anything? why does she need to even explain anything more than a sentence or two for this super **** claswork. garbage teacher needs to go back to school, interest the students!!

clarity is horriable...i would never understand what does she wants us to do for the assignments. and most likely we wasted about 4 or 4 weeks to work on on essay. and its worth like 200 points. so my advices is DONT take HER CLASS. its gonna screw you.

It was the worst class of my life! I didn't learn anything about college english. She was there half the time and the other half I didn't go! I just stopped going because it was the biggest waste of time ever. No clarity, no orginization, no nothing! Learn from these comments, they are true! You will save money and a bad grade by not having her!

absolutely horrible.. unorganized and boring...very weak curriculum... the class was so bad that we had to get the dean involved just to get our grades and was unclear with course materials..vague direction and didnt learn a thing...

Ok this woman is an idiot. At first i wrote the comment that 'shes nice and tries', but how can you teach english if you don't know what youre talking about! I wrote an essay and I usually get As, but she marked that I used 2 words incorrectly and gave me a 89 for 2 words (which i did use correctly, by the way). I went to 2 other English teachers and asked if i used the words correctly and they said that i did! When i confronted her she STILL said she was right. She seems like the passive aggressive type.

HORRIBLE TEACHER! Her assignments are so stupid and pointless! She seems nice at first, but when she grades it seems that she HAS to find something wrong to the point where she misgrades and won't admit it. Her classes are so boring. She talks to us like we're stupid, but she seems to be the one who doesn't know anything. She thinks that she is smarter than everyone and believe you me... she is NOT. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!

Unhelpful and unorganized.

She was so unoraganized and always took her forever to hand back the papers. She is an idiot, you cannot ask her anything, because she will never give you a clear answer. She is usually late to class or never there or just doesn't show up, but it is a good thing b/c her lectures are boring as well as her assingments.

Shes the worst teacher ive ever had. She doesnt give you your grades, shes slow, useless, failed me because SHE lost my paper, unfortunately i found out months later why i failed it and she couldn't do anything about it because it was an online class and everything was gone. i DO NOT recommend taking her.

This lady is a joke. This online class was useless, I didnt learn anything. All we did was read a ridiculous book and answered questions every week. Then we wernt given enought time for the timed essay. She is rude when you ask questions, and she never tells us what our grades are.

I have no clue how this lady was hired to teach a college course. She is clueless on how to run her class. Never once was I told my overral grade until the semester ended. Everything we did seemed like a waste of time. She barely responds to emails like she should since its online class and if she does she is rude most of the time.

Like others who have taken her online class say you never know your grade. I had no clue what my overall grade was until teachers were forced to turn in grades after the final.

This instructor has taught nothing during the semester. All we do is write essays based on a poorly written book. What little direction is given is often full of grammatical and spelling errors which is unacceptable for an English professor.

We spent the entire semester reading one book and writing the same paper over and over again every week. Grades were not given in a timely manner, and we had hardly any feedback before writing the final paper, which was again on the same book. Boring class for anyone who already knows how to write a basic essay. No topic variety or creativity.

This teacher has a problem grading assignments in a timely matter, and providing feed back to students how she want the papers. All we did was read one book the whole dam semester that was useless in learning. We kept doing the same paper over the same book all semester. Gave me a C on the final and finally told me feed back when semesters over

It is very hard to follow along at times because she is very unclear in her written instructions. For a professor teaching college English, her instructions are full of grammar & spelling errors. She takes a long time to grade & complains when she cannot assign more work until that's done. It's not in the student's control, we did the work on time!

Very unclear grading. Very late with grading assignments. And I mean exceedingly late. Very common to do an essay then have it graded a month later. Did not learn much about English. Stay away.

I dont recommend her at all. Even for someone who speak native language, i dont understand her. Pointless of taking this class. Horrible grader, not helpful at all. I dont suggest any international student to take her class. She dont reply to any email,gives feedback like im not learning at all. Save yourself from failing and dont take her class.

Assigns discussions 2 days before it's due with vague instructions. Lot of timed essays that's graded hard. Mutes/doesn't publish grades (finally unmuted grades from the start of the semester during finals week) until the last min. Stupid end of sem group project. Assigned last min timed final essay. I recommend any another Engl prof if possible.

Took her online class. She uses the excuse of "sorry i was sick" a lot. But she didn't even extend her due dates. For example, we were supposed to revise a thesis we gave her a week prior. She would critique our thesis' the day it was due, when she had a week to do it, giving us no time to send her a new thesis if it wasn't to her liking again.

Professor Perri Gallagher is the worst online teacher for english i've ever had!

Horrible grader. I don't recommend signing up for any of her online classes. Very disorganized class

English is a very easy subject for me but i still cant understand exactly what she wnats from us with the assignments. She literally missed the first day of class and has missed several since then, i dont think she cares about the class or her job as a teacher at all. An easy A but a huge pain to deal with her

WORST PROFESSOR IVE EVER TAKEN AT OHLONE. This teacher should NOT be teaching anymore. She cancelled class once a week every week & is so disorganized. Never gives clear directions and sucks at answering questions. Her lectures often made no sense. She assigned 4 essays overall and grades em super touch and critically, despite almost no direction

I will save you time... DO NOT TAKE HER! Horrible professor she cancels class every week and then expects you to have a perfect essay with no clear rubric and feed back. Never responds to e-mails/makes excuses. Tough on grading never fully explains essay assignment. You will have at least 7 essays. This class should be a 5 unit class instead of 3.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER, cancelled first day of class and cancelled class once a week, her lectures were confusing and unhelpful. your would feel like you were doing the essays wrong. She doesn't care about her students and made up too many excuses. dont take her lol

Extremely unorganized and unclear instructions. Sometimes she doesn't even know what to teach. The feedbacks from her are always late since she doesn't grade assignments until the last minute and they are not helpful AT ALL. You will learn more from the text than her lectures. More than half of the class got zeros for being sespected of cheating.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!Very unorganized person, she doesn't show up to class, grades late, her feedback when you do your essays are useless. She puts no effort in her work and she always assigns essays when we barely learned anything! Don't bother with this class or her because your just wasting your time. Find a better professor who actually cares

4 essays in class, 1 midterm 1 final essay (both timed). Switched from in-person to straight-up online, I just think she doesn't care at this point and the criteria for some of her assignments don't even make sense sometimes. Only really take this class if no one else is available

This professor is probably the worst English teacher I have ever studied under. She does not explain why she grades you so low. When I explain myself to the grain of salt she gives me a 1/10. Worst teacher. If you are reading this get another job and critique your mom instead.

Confusing assignments, inconsiderate, poorly managed online course, and posts assignments late with no compensatory time. I would go into more detail if word count allowed. I highly recommend taking a better professor if available. You can pass Dr. Gallagher's class with a good grade if you have to, but it is so frustrating, and you learn nothing.

I don't reccomend taking her for any class EVER. Her assignments are the same thing over and over again so you're not really learning anything than what you already know. She is a lousy grader and she will assign things based on previous assignments that aren't even graded?! You're basically gambling with your grade for the semester.

I am currently taking this class and am struggling. I'm used to getting A+ in English, but I currently have 36%. not very nice communication-wise. shes given me 1/10 continually and even 7/10 on an assignment bc my answers were too generic? I asked her to provide more context and for a rubric, she did not respond. :( sad bc I love english.

Her assignments are extremely unclear and her grading is atrocious. It takes forever for her to grade any assignment. Safe to say, would not recommend.

I needed to take this class for my degree. First she didn't grade anything until after the semester ended, she never responded to emails sent asking for clarification on assignments. I plan to file a complaint to the dean as she never actually taught the class. It's absolutely unreal how bad she is.

Absolutely stay away from her. Had As and Bs on my essay papers like ever in my life and this is my first time getting Cs and Ds+ she does not grade until the semester is over + does not give any feedback at all. She posted an essay once without any warning whatsoever which was due the same week. Seriously, save yourself when you can.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Most of the grade is determined by 3 essays that she didn't even grade until after the final, so you won't know what your grade is until its too late. Her grading is also insanely strict and cringe inducing. Average grade she gave on essays was a 55. Don't take her unless you hate yourself and want to fail in life.

This teacher doesnt help her students with no extra credit or makeup if you have a failing grade. She constantly gives out 1/10s n that makes it impossible to recover your grade from that. She is a strict grader n she doesnt commentate on what mistakes you made or how to improve from them. Her grading criteria is quite harsh n she gave me two 1/10.

She's absolutely pretentious. Makes you purchase her awful book for the class. Easily the worst teacher I've ever had. Undergrad and beyond.

Pretentious. You will be offered ZERO construcitve criticism, she will nitpick on your wrongs and offer 0 insight on improvements. Each response is criticism with 1 sentence responses. the grading criteria is absolutely insulting. The readings are absolutely irrelevant and are more in line with her own political views. STAY AWAY, DROP IF YOU CAN!

She was unclear about her grading, and overall was very bad with grading, my work comes out great but i get 1, and zeros in every catagory.

I cannot show you the shear amount of bias this teacher has towards students she does not appreciate/like. Even when you completely go above and beyond with your essay she still fails you for absolutely no reason whatsoever. She also gives you no feedback on what you did wrong, she just looks for opportunities to penalize you. DROP/AVOID

The assignments and quizzing directions are convoluted and ambiguous, you will receive no actual directions other than your own interpretation. You may believe you have written a flawless piece of writing and you're work will be slammed with 0 reasoning behind the grading, just a 1/x because she has the authority to do so.

Honestly sucks. Her grading is bad and she uses ai to identify ai. Even your hand written things would pop up as AI. Her communication sucks. I had to send 20 emails to receive one. I would strongly advise to skip her you would suffer mentally.

Carelessly grades work, doesn't respond to emails. She had to revise her poor grading after I contacted her due to concerns. Doesn't leave comments on grades and will leave you wondering what you did wrong. Also uses inaccurate AI detections, which'll harm you if you write at a level higher than the fourth grade. Please do not take her, you'll cry.
